Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Falafel Mafia | Hailing from NYC, Falafel Mafia were an early 1990s Hardcore Punk outfit that could be found playing Lower East Side dives such as [l182009] or King Tut's Wah Wah Hut. By 1993, the band's vocalist ("iron lung"), [a4006050] and guitarist ("chunky beef missile"), [a4006048] would sporadically do punk versions of film reviews on [a1428975]'s MTV talk show. The band's sole release, [r=6093848], recorded in a pair of [l267980] sessions during early Spring 1995, was co-produced by [a489746]. Following the release of the album, the group disbanded after their vocalist headed to Hazelton, Minnesota for treatment of heroin and crack addiction.

Search | Add | 2 | UCBM | United Color of Black Metal is the duo of Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy (Pneu, La Colonie de Vacances, Tachycardie, Futuroscope) and Guillaume Brot. Oscillators, transducers, microphones, outdated objects, two people, fermented fruit juice without additives, percussions, humour in the colours of the project and a very special tool, chance. Nothing is foreseen, not even the music. Nothing happens by chance, except maybe all things that happen to everyone, all the time. United Color of Black Metal is not a coincidence, UCMB embodies coincidence in its music.

Search | Add | 2 | Blunted Force | Björn Knittel | Uprising music producer, DJ & Live act from Dresden, Germany Other project "Ninjadrop" with "Mainfocus" (Trance & Progressive) Bio: Born 1980 in the beautiful City of Dresden / Germany, Bjoern aka. Blunted Force discovered his passion for good quality music early in his life after the german wall came down. The love for electronic music started in 1996, as he went with some friends to one of the early big technoraves in his hometown. There in between a few thousand wild dancing people, he had a mindblowing experience and the vision to start from this moment on his own electronic dancemusicproductions. Over the years, his own knowledge in sound-engineering, editing, and arranging the music, has grown steadily. With help of new techology and different hardware, he developed his own unique signature of modern Trancesound, that can take listeners into another world. Also he worked in close partnerships with well known musicians & vocalists to produce a number of amazing tracks in successful international cooperations around the globe* . Together with his brother in mind, Atomic Fu, he started playing live on stage in 2003. Since that time, he played as Liveact and Solo-DJ in different important Clubs & Locations in and around his own city and was official closing-act of the first peace-people-musicparade in Dresden. After all, he has produced eight own artist LPs, released numerous different EPs - as well as various remixes for lots of other musicians and friends. His songs were often played in different international radioshows & featured as track of the month. Openminded to new experiences & always pushing forward to new musical horizons, he also drops some really mindblowing FullOn&Psytrance as DJ IRAGON + in the fresh new Liveactproject with Atomic Fu as " NINJADROP " New releases coming soon! Search | Add | 2 | Dave Rusan | David Eric Rusan | Dave Rusan (b. October 1949, St. Cloud, Minnesota) is an American luthier and guitarist, best known as the creator of [a=Prince]'s iconic "Cloud" guitar designed for the [m=388665] movie and extensively used between 1984 and 1993. David continues to make and sell Cloud guitars via his company, Rusan Guitar Works, in Bloomington, Minnesota. Rusan relocated from his hometown to Minneapolis in the mid-1970s, where he did session work at [l=Sound 80 Studios] and soon opened a tiny guitar repair workshop in the basement of Knut-Koupeé Music store founded in 1972 by Jeffrey R. Hill (1951—2009), a guitarist who played in various local bands, like [a3503783] and [a=The Underbeats], and Karl Dedolph (b. 1950), now a photographer. Dave Rusan soon gained a reputation as a reliable luthier, working on guitars for bands like [a268769], [a129885], and [a532655]. In 1983, [a=Prince] visited the Knut-Koupeé store, inquiring about a custom guitar for his upcoming film production. As a prototype, the artist suggested his Sardonyx electric bass (designed by New York-based luthier Jeff Levin), purchased for [a=André Cymone] in 1978. Rusan already knew [a=Prince] and auditioned for his band a few years earlier with [a=Bobby Z.] and André Cymone; however, Dave never talked with him directly while working on Cloud guitars. Dave Rusan created the first instrument with Tommy Stinson (former Schecter Guitars employee from California and namesake of [a=The Replacements] bassist). They used an existing guitar as the body's basis, a "Shark" model from O'Hagan Guitar Company (a local family shop that recently went bankrupt, with all their assets purchased by Knut-Koupee at the foreclosure earlier the same year). The first Cloud guitar, in white, was used in the Purple Rain movie, which began filming in November 1983. Prince also played the guitar in the [r=21779812] music video, earning its' nickname after his iconic costume. In the spring of 1984, even before the Purple Rain premiere, Prince returned to Knut-Koupeé to order two more guitars for his planned tour. The store hired additional staff to assist Rusan, Barry Haugen and [a10801114]. Prince continued heavily utilizing all three original Clouds, repaired and repainted several times. Rusan left Knut-Koupee in 1985 but continued to personally maintain and service all Prince's guitars until late 1991. Dave also built other custom instruments for him and The Revolution, including [a=Wendy Melvoin]'s transparent guitar with embedded flowers. In 1993, after briefly hiring local luthiers to service existing Clouds, like Ron Tracy at Hoffman Guitars, [l=Paisley Park] began working with [a=Andy Beech], who built many more Clouds, often rigged and upgraded by [a=Zeke Clark]. In 1997, Prince also hired Schecter Guitar Research to design custom instruments. Rusan continued making Cloud replicas and trademarked the iconic body shape in early 2018. [l=The Prince Estate], which had been selling Schecter's commercially-built Cloud model, sent him a "cease & desist" letter. After lengthy legal disputes, they settled in August 2022 with an agreement allowing Dave Rusan to continue making Cloud guitars. Dave Rusan's "Cloud" guitars ✪ Cloud 1 (1983) Originally in white, appeared in the Purple Rain film; repainted peach for Sign "☮" The Times Tour in 1987 (also seen on the album's cover), and yellow circa 1991 (simultaneously with Cloud 2). According to the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, a yellow Cloud in their collection, donated by Prince in 1993 without provenance (dated to 1989, with Dave Rusan and Barry Haugen as makers), was identified by CT scans and paint analysis in October 2019 as the original Cloud 1. This claim was contradicted by [a=John Woodland], an official conservator of Prince's guitar collection and author of the upcoming book "Look Up in the Air: The Origin of Prince's Cloud Guitar," in his May 2020 article for Fretboard Journal, quoting Dave Rusan directly. ✪ Cloud 2, a.k.a. the "Blue Angel" (1984) Originally in white, Cloud 2 was used throughout the Purple Rain Tour (1984–85), repainted peach for the '87 Sign "☮" The Times Tour, then light blue for the Lovesexy Tour (88–89), nicknamed "Blue Angel." In 1991, it was again repainted yellow (together with Cloud 1), appearing on the '92 Diamonds & Pearls Tour. Cloud 2 was repainted in a custom "electric" blue/purple color for Act I & II 1993 tours with [a=The New Power Generation]. In June 2020, Cloud 2 was sold at Julien's Auctions for $563,500. ✪ Cloud 3 (1984) Originally in white, later repainted in black with a maple neck for the Parade Tour (1986), and refinished all-black for the Batman era (seen in the Batdance music video). Cloud 3 was given away in England as the prize for Warner's film promotion. |

While these hallmarks still provide a foundational element for the band’s fourth studio set, Ain’t Dead Yet, more prevalent this time around, though, is a matured, reflective approach; introspective, and even, at times, haunting. Backed by their countless appearances, the self-managed SoCal group boasts, with faux-confidence, a spot in the Top Ten of “Most Shows Ever Played by a Rock Band” (offset, naturally, with an immediate disclaimer: “You know, probably.”). In fact, this isan ensemble that averages 300 shows a year ranging from local haunts in Hollywood to famed venues in the Big Apple, across the European continent, and anywhere in between. Surviving the creative gauntlet of the Los Angeles/Orange County industry grind, Feed the Kitty has persevered, with their singles dotting playlists on 88.5 FM, K-EARTH 101, and the world-renowned 95.5 KLOS radio in Southern California (including an October 2018 “Stay or Go” segment of the Frosty, Heidi and Frank Show on KLOS, during which morning listeners voted to let our heroes ‘stay.’) “Whenever I play California Country GirlI can count on listener response,” says 88.5 FM deejay Jim Nelson. “Feed The Kitty sounds great on the air.” And, in the three minutes a week that they are not playing a gig or recording an album, this is a group that’s busy making mini documentaries (well, okay, just one; it’s called Feed The Kitty: The Movieand it’s a lot of fun) or placing songs in films and TV shows, including in the Oscar-nominated, Ryan Gossling vehicle Lars And The Real Girl, or National Lampoon’s Cattle Call, or a live appearance on Fox-11 TV’s Good Day LAmorning program, as well as on the police drama, Rogue; the latter utilizing three Feed The Kitty cuts for its soundtrack. For Ain’t Dead Yet, the three once again recorded at Dave Grohl’s famed Studio 606 in Los Angeles, with producer John Lousteau (Foo Fighters, John Fogerty, Rush) helming the board. In addition to the group’s original songcrafting, the resulting dozen gemstones comprising the studded set employ, at times, the writing and guitar-playing talents of friend and frequent live guest, Duane Betts (Allman Betts Band), Grammy-nominated producer, Cisco Adler, and Rami Jaffee of Foo Fighters and Wallflowers fame. And, because sleep apparently isn’t necessary when you’re young, handsome, and in the self-described ‘hardest-working band ever,’ while ensuring that Feed The Kitty’s music is available on iTunes and everywhere music, and continuing to appear on stages anywhere and everywhere seemingly all the damn time, Jed and Jack Jr. also host the popular Feed The Kitty Power Hour podcast, always making certain to keep that kitty well-fed. Playing very few shows in 2020 because of the pandemic, Feed The Kitty focused on writing songs for their next album “Lost & Found” and will be tracking at Studio 606 with producer John Lousteau in 2021. |
