Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 7 Minos The Saint Baton Rouge, Louisiana Minos the Saint is not what you would call a “traditional” southern Louisiana band. Though Baton Rouge is home, the ensemble plays mostly original music, with a variety of influences which yield experimental-yet-accessible original folk rock, uniquely representing Louisiana and the world. Cajun and Zydeco roots are joined by Latin, Jazz, and Eastern European styles, along with the group's shared classical background. Founded in 2013, Minos the Saint uses a variety of timbres including voice, guitar, piano, drums, violin, mandolin, and a brass section, and like the accordion of founding member, Ben Herrington, the band can expand and contract to play to any audience. Band members include: Peter Simon on vocals and guitar Ben Herrington on accordion, keyboards, and trombone Micah Blouin on percussion and vocals Joel Willson on violin and mandolin Arisia Gilmore on French horn Since the band began playing in 2013, it has shared bills with Phosphorescent, Robert Ellis, Wild Child, Brass Bed, Moon Honey, Cardinal Sons, The Brad Walker Quintet, Crystal Bright & the Silver Hands, Mississippi Rail Co., Prom Date, England in 1819, Belle Adair, The Mercy Brothers, and Rareluth. Minos the Saint released its debut full length album, Awake and Dream, in February 2016. In 2019 Minos the Saint completed their first tour up the Eastern Side of the U.S., stopping in Georgia, North Carolina, Maryland, Washington D.C, and New York.. Search Add 7 Nika Machaidze ნიკოლოზ მაჩაიძე (Nikolos Machaidze) Nika Machaidze (b. 1972) is a Georgian musician, producer, composer, and filmmaker, best known for his electronic music projects [a=Nikakoi] and [a=Erast]. He is a member of Goslab artist group and a cousin of the artist and filmmaker [a=Salome Machaidze]. Born in a family of well-known Georgian cinematographers, Nika Machaidze studied at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film University in Tbilisi, graduating in animation (1992) and film direction (1997). From 1991 to 2000, he worked as an author, director, composer and film editor for the state Georgian television, as well as Rustavi 2 broadcasting company. Machaidze started making electronic music in the mid-nineties, combining digital noises and IDM rhythms with melancholic melodies (often inspired by Georgian folk music). In 1999, Nika won Grand Prix at the Electronic Music Festival in Paris, where he appeared under a new artistic pseudonym 'Nikakoi' (as suggested by a friend [a=Thea Djordjadze]. In Russian, Никакой means “none”, “undefined”, “featureless”). Nikakoi released his debut album [r=106252] in 2002 on [l=WMF Records] in Berlin, followed by [r=178243] next year. In 2004, Machaidze presented his new alter ego, Erast, and released [r=267413] and [r=329573] EPs (second and third releases on a recently established [l=Laboratory Instinct] label). Erast is a reference to Erast Fandorin, a main character of a critically acclaimed book series by Boris Akunin. Nika released [r=506712], a debut full-length album by Erast, in 2006. In 2009, Nikakoi returned with two releases on Laboratory Instinct: 2xCD compilation [r=2081020] (best tracks from both albums plus unreleased material), and a new double ambient album [r=2081000]. This work marked a significant shift in Nikakoi's artistic style and consisted of two rhythmless ambient tracks and a collection of sublime piano-based electronic soundscapes on the second disc. In 2012, Nikakoi released a new album in Japan – [r=3558829], a collaboration with Tokyo-based musician [a=Coppé]. His most recent work, [r=9289110] EP, was released on [l=Transfigured Time] in 2016. Nika Machaidze composed soundtracks for Archil Kavtaradze, Salome Machaidze, Zaza Rusadze and other notable Georgian movie directors. He also wrote music for several theatrical plays, such as The Park by [a=Botho Strauß]. Machaidze is closely tied and had been collaborating extensively with [a=Natalie Beridze] (also known as [a=TBA (2)] and [a=Tusia Beridze]) and [a=George Dzodzuashvili] ([a=Post Industrial Boys]).

Ωστόσο όλα αυτά τα χρόνια και παράλληλα με τις συναυλιακές τους δραστηριότητες ο Ευάγγελος και η Λίζα δίδαξαν σε Σεμινάρια και Master Classes σε φημισμένες μουσικές Ακαδημίες και Πανεπιστήμια (Juilliard School, Royal Academy, of Music Royal College of Music, UCLA, Stony Brook University, Mannes College of Music κ.α.)

In the 1950s, they recorded a lot on records - as a duet and accompanied by a pop orchestra. During the war, they played as part of propaganda brigades on different fronts - from the Northern to the Southern. On such trips they did without a marimbaphone: Miron Raskatov played the ukulele, Rosalia Simanovskaya played the accordion.

Search Add 7 Wind Fire Progressive psychedelic trance duo project based in São Paulo , Brazil Wind Fire is a Progressive and Psytrance project created in September 2012 by duo 'Kromah' and 'Patrícia Leal', who live in São Paulo, Brazil. The duo tends to Progressive Trance, Psychedelic Progressive, Modern Progressive Trance and Progressive House. Innovation is the foundation of Wind Fire's work, its presentations are done in the LiveSet format, always joining a good mix with a variation of basslines containing a lot of groove and remarkable synths, thus making a good story. With over 12 years of experience as a dj player, Kromah has already gone through various national clubs and parties such as Pacha, Eazy, Clash, Club A, Privilege (Buzios), Mermaid, Hot Hot, Ice Club, Chameleon Resident), Eivissa, Club Nud at the Sirius parties, Summer Sessions,, Psy 4 Friends (Resident), World Oz Festival, Psyzone Festival, Trancendence, High Waterfall, among others. Over time, Kromah met Patricia and for the same affinities and musical tastes, they decided to form the project, which would become something that really made sense to their lives. They already have a considerable number of songs, being sold in all virtual stores of the world, by the labels Solid Recording, Ibiza Dance Music, InTrance, PanMusic. The time passed and with the evolution of their work, were invited in April 2015 by the label Plusquam Records one of the world's top seals create a new EP that will be called Evolution Continues, and thus joining great names such as Zyze, Hi Profile, Flegma, Liquid Sound, Fatali, Echoteck, Solaris Vibe, Sunstryk and others. Wind Fire was created by the meaning of 'Wind' as Wind being Patrícia Leal and 'Fire' as Fire being Kromah. These are elements that bring a symbology of greater energetic foundations to what the duo of artists believe. It is worth mentioning that the productions of the Wind Fire project are elaborated jointly by the duo and not only with the presence of a producer. Just as the Live presentation will be done only by the two components, not just by an artist!

A product of the traditional 'Guru Shishya Parampara' training, Ustad Sayeeduddin Dagar was initiated at the tender age of six under the experienced hands of his father. This was followed by further training under guidance of his illustrious Uncle, Padma Bhushan Ustad Rahimuddin Khan Dagar, as well as from his cousins Ustad Aminuddin Dagar, Ustad R. Fahimuddin Dagar, Ustad N. Zahiruddin Dagar and Ustad N. Faiyazuddin Dagar. Ustad Sayeeduddin Dagar was awarded the 'Sur Mani' title by the Sursingar Samsad, Bombay in 1969. Search Add 7 Hyper As Hell Early 80's Ohio hardcore bands Plasma Alliance and Kein Krieg merged to form Hyper as Hell in the mid/late 80's. Crossover, thrash, Voivod, punk, and experimental bands of the time period were heavy influences. Pushing the limits, creating a "happening", and exploring new musical territory were accomplished. One of the most under- rated bands to escape regular music archival history, they were usually an opening act for any of the national touring acts of the punk scene. They came from a time when some visionary artists had no designs on "getting signed" or trying to get involved in the business aspect of music. In 2018 they were asked to reform and play a few shows, which they are doing, and will continue to do on a limited basis.. as well as having My Minds Eye records release a proper 2xLP discography of the 80's / 90's highlights.

Search Add 7 Richard Groove Gabriel Madrid Since the 90's, Gabriel Madrid aka Richard Groove has been influenced with Hip Pop and Rap music, but through a small change of artists like Orbital and Kraftwerk, it gave him a small path to come other bunch of artists like Thomas Bangalter and Laurent Garnier that made him go to more urban sounds where the French and Disco House will mark him for life. This gave him the decision of becoming a dj and play this kind of music to the under side of the scene in Santiago ( Chile ) and using the dj nick " Daft Groove ". Through more homemade parties Gabriel starts to show the house genre with good results, but after contacting people in the Santiago's scene it gives him the oportunity to play at a real club with a good crowd as it was the " Bar Forestal " club. That's how his disc jokey work starts and where it comes more different oportunities to play in knowable clubs as "Cresta Negra" ( Rancagua ), " Punta De Lobos " ( Pichilemu ), " Pagano " ( Valparaiso ) y tambien tocar en eventos masivos como "Urban Rave " ( 2003 - 2004 - 2005 ), "Musica Desde El Oriente " ( 2008 ), Gay Parade Chile ( 2008 - 2009 - 2010 - 2011 ). Though his music creation didn't started until 2006 and it follows as a long process until 2010 where his sound production starting to really get well done and with mayor influences like Daft Punk, High Caliber, DJ Sneak and others. With a lot of work and much promotion, Richard Groove gave his first single called " Banged " and with this he signed more than one contract inside and outside of Chile, labels like Sugar Shock Digital ( USA ) and Agua y Sed ( Chile ). Gabriel continues to produce music as he still gives his mark as a dj in the chilean club's dancefloors.

After spending many years clubbing and taking in a huge variety of music he decided it was time to write, produce and recreate many of the styles he knew and loved. Follow up track, 'Minimal Life' gained huge support and airplay in Europe. Sebbers soon connected with UK House legend, Nick Hook, one of the scene's stalwarts who has been around since the early days of House. His label Jeepers! has seen Sebbers' work recognised by the likes of Graham Gold, Jay Kay, Anna Kiss, So called scum bags, Jason chance, Danny chase, Hetto and 6" 7' and Martin Sharp. -------------------------------------------------------- Nasr is the son of Hassan Mégri - lyricist and composer of the legendary Mégri quartet -. He was born surrounded by instruments and considered them as his toys, lived to the frantic pace of the success experienced by his father, his uncles and his aunt. He grows up with a guitar in his hand, and refines the flexibility of his fingers as he laps into the living room piano. Later, he will study music theory, and will master the knowledge taught by the Music Conservatory of Rabat. From his toys, he will make them his working tools. Like a fate drawn, Nasr will follow in his father's footsteps. Cradled by the movement created by the Megri Brothers in Morocco, and surrounded by the microcosm of the few musicians of that time, this is naturally what predisposes him to become what he always wanted to be : a lyricist and composer. In 2012, he will share his first stage at Mawazine Festival, that brought together the big names of Music in Morocco. It was also the last concert given by his father. A sort of handover, symbolic of an another wave of the Megri movement that Nasr has continued to instill ever since. An undeniably emotional moment since Nasr has continued to perpetuate the traditional back and forth that his parents knew, going from concerts to concerts and locking himself in the recording studios as soon as the opportunity arises. Nasr produces 4 albums and a single on the legendary Ouhmane label, and records his name - and first name - in a catalog which includes practically all the big names in Moroccan Music - all genres and styles combined - - "Fyoum Lefrah" (2011) - "Winek" (2014) - "Baghi Nfhem" (2015) - "Sa3a Dour" (2016) - "Machaal" (2019) This latest wave of the Megri movement is meticulously respected by Nasr. In 2017, like the Megri Brothers, he will begin a Maghrebin tour. In 2018, like the Megri Brothers, he will continue with a European tour. Just a few months before the death of his father, the late Hassan. He went to India to promote Moroccan Music where he gave a concert, and coincidence or not, they were both 27 years old for their respective trips. The numerous distinctions and prizes received from all over the world by Nasr, make him an ambassador of Moroccan Music. But Nasr does not let the light dazzle him, and never ceases to follow in the footsteps of his father Hassan Megri. Surprising, and different.

Search Add 7 CorruptionSound Eric Pillmayer Noise artist and video remixer. Prior to the start of the very first noise project "GxSxOxGxPx" (Grotesque Sounds Of Gore Presents), which started in February 2008, some audio experimentations and messing arounds (all lost) were made. On May 23, 2008, CorruptionSound created his youtube channel. It was used to upload the demos of his project, but for other kinds of videos as well. After abandoning GxSxOxGxPx in May 2009, AxBxNx became his main project that occasionally puts out releases up to this day, but the main focus was put on the video remixing. The name was chosen because of "corrupting" the sound. He's also known as KnorruptionSound.
