Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Gila Adari Gila Laufer née Gila Adri Gila Adari (born 1947 in Morocco, died 22 July 2013 in Haifa, Israel) was an Israeli pop singer who was popular in the mid 1960s. Her family migrated to Israel when she was two years old, settling in Acre. In 1964, at the age of 17, she participated in an amateur singing contest and was noticed by [a=Effi Netzer]. Netzer recommended her to [a=Dov Zeira] who was looking for a new artist to sing western style pop. She was signed by Hataklit and her last name was changed to Adari. Adari recorded her first EP which included the song "First Kiss", which topped the Israeli charts in 1965. It was followed by an album of the same name. Adari is mainly known for recording Hebrew versions of British, French and American pop songs. She married football star Ephraim Laufer in 1968 and, with the birth of their first child in 1969, decided to leave the music business and concentrate on her family, though she did return to the stage occasionally after her album was reissued in the 1990s and 2000s. A two disc collection including both the "First Kiss" album and her EPs was released on CD and in digital formats in 2013.

The lyrics are the heart of Marsklands (In English, Marshland) music, and they deal with creatures great and small and everything else between heaven and earth. The compositions are a combination of the raw nature of West Jutland and colorful, imaginary adventure. When all is mixed together, it becomes the folk band Marskland.

Search Add 2 Kaveh Akaber Kaveh Akaber is a Swedish/Iranian composer and film director. Already in 1994 he started the electronica band Mindacid with his childhood friend in the small town Kristinehamn, Sweden. Inspired by the early 90's British rave scene. After the split -up 1999, he went his own way and soundtrack-like narrative became a strong feature of his work. Usually his music resembles a mix of western- and middle east scales, infused with heavy trip-hop beats, psychedelic guitars, analogue synthesizers and orchestrated strings, narrated by intimate vocals. From flirting with David Bowie vibes like in the song "Love is Groovy" and Angelo Badalamenti´s soundscapes as in “Bris” that lead us in a more trip-hop Massive Attack world like in “Baham”. The genre softly alternates and each track has its own narrative. The dark atmospheric sound oscillates between a dreamy atmosphere and a sharpened state of mind, where the hidden mysticism and socially dark subjects collides.
