Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Darío González Moreira | Darío Moreira’s multicultural origins reflect a wide variety of influences in his compositions. He was born in Buenos Aires in 1962, into a family of Italian-Argentine and Portuguese-Galician emigrants, who returned to Galicia in 1964. He grew up in the town of O Porriño, in an “indianos” house run by his paternal grandmother. The rhythmic sound of the train, which crosses the town through the center, is part of his first sound memories. His mother, Lucía Moreira, a native of the province of Santa Fe (Argentina), transmitted her culture to him through literature, gastronomy and music. Since he was a child he had contact with the tango of the Rio de la Plata and argentine folklore; He learned the generic “palos” of flamenco with the gypsy community, and participated in several popular music groups. He studied Classical Guitar with professors Javier Fernández Oria, Uxío Mayo and Tomás Camacho at the Vigo Superior Conservatory of Music (Galicia), where he had the opportunity to receive master classes from maestro José Tomás, who highlighted his expressive strength. He also participated with teachers and students in jazz sessions, learning in a self-taught way. Within the folk music scene, he formed the group [a2451125], together with [a5146653], [a2525264], [a5146655] and [a5146654], performing a copious work as an arranger and composer on the traditional music repertoire of Galicia. They recorded 5 albums and performed at the main folk music festivals, being one of the Galician groups with more projection in the 80′s, and awarded with the Galician Critics Prize in 1989. Faced with the need to resolve the aftermath of a youthful fracture in his left arm, he started to use in an intuitive way technique similar to the renaissance “dedillo”, which consists of the alternate pulsation of the fingertip and fingernail. This allowed him to perform scales and melodic phrases at great speed, and also, to apply this resource on acoustic and electric guitar, getting the effect of the pick with the fingers. By observing this way of playing the string on many instruments from different times and cultures, he deepens the study of world music, applying innovative guitar techniques in his compositions and developing the capacity for improvisation, from a language full of rhythmic, melodic, harmonic and timbre resources.

Search | Add | 4 | Open Fire! | Coming out of Tacoma, WA, Open Fire! formed in late 2005. Over several years, they progressed and shifted line ups and directions, but always had a core philosophy: to write passionate, aggressive music. Combining their influences of metal and hardcore, and using forms of melody and conscientious lyrics (be it personal or political issues), the band's effort culminated in their 2012 full length album "I Am the Curse," digitally self-released. The album's lyrics tackles socio-political issues as well as detailing personal struggles while blending heavy riffs, melodic leads and vocals reminiscent of bands like Poison the Well, Shai Hulud, The Carrier and Misery Signals. The album also features guest vocals from The Ghost Inside vocalist Jonathan Vigil, as well as a solo from guitarist Kyle Rasmussen of Vitriol. They are releasing their first material in 8 years in November 2020, rerecordings of a few choice tracks from their 2007 full length, “Built to Abandon.”

Search | Add | 4 | Wilf Conway | From Palm Desert Post May 5th 1977 "Wilf Conway grew up in the Portland and Beaverton area in Oregon. At the age of eight, his parents took him to an amateur talent radio contest; he entered and won, and so, he was booked. During the following years, he entered many more contests, and, he eventually became a professional vocalist and song writer. His first record, 'Thunder and Lightning', -- was for the Starday People in Nashville -- which is not a bad start. With his first band, 'The Bounty Hunters,' he toured the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest, then went to Canada and did a syndicated TV show for the Screen Gems Co. Later, he worked at many of the clubs and casinos in Las Vegas. "After that, he went to California, working most of the clubs and hotels from Los Angeles to Capistrano. A member of the Hollywood Red TV Show, he toured with that talented little gal, Sue Thompson, who is one of the best in Nashville Sounds. "Recognized as a song writer among his many friends in the C-W music field, he has appeared on shows with such notables as Ray Price, Kitty Wells, Guy Mitchell, Jim Reeves, Johnny Ray and Wynn Stewart, among many others. Living in the Desert since 1976, he has made it his home. His latest record, 'Hollow Sounds of Silence,' is now available and has been aired on 187 radio stations in the USA and in Canada."

Search | Add | 4 | Moms I'D Like To Surf | Winter 2012, as he gets tired of the cold and the snow of the French alps, John John De Vito decides to give up his saxophon and take back his guitar to find some hot waves in surf music. He asks Kristina Fabula, his old high school classmate, to exchange her violin for a baritone guitar. Here is the beginning of Moms I’d Like To Surf ! Obviously, Frankie Goodlord, Bassist and doctor of sixties music spirit, and then Bobby Ballard, ex-punk drummer reconverted to jazz, join the line-up in spring 2013. After several lives playing classics surf covers and some of their own tunes, they record their first EP in 2014. The next year, they work on new compositions and release their second EP "Surf Cops Are Watching You" and their first video clip "Surf Blast Inferno". They are currently working on a first LP, which will be released in 2019.
Search | Add | 4 | Max Handley | Max Handley (December 23, 1945–July 31, 1990) was a British comedy writer. He was born in Blackpool, Lancashire, England and educated at Arnold School and the University of Sussex. He worked on Radio Four's Week Ending and other programmes often with [a=Tony Allen (20)]. In 1988 he wrote the script for the comedy musical Quasimodo with music by Richard Rowland. Between 1971 and 1974 he recorded songs at Richard Branson's Manor Studio and these were issued in 1974 on an LP, titled "Max", on Virgin's Caroline label imprint. A single, "Stephanie" (B-side "All I Know"), was taken from the LP and released on the Virgin label proper (as was normal for those Caroline artists that got to release singles). The album and single were credited to "Max" with the surname dropped. The Virgin label connection came about because Handley had been on the production team for [a4812584]'s "Student" magazine. Handley's first novel 'Oliver Poges Lives' was published by Arlington Books Ltd in 1970 and takes the form of a series of letters detailing increasingly bizarre suicide attempts by the protagonist. This was followed by 'Sheep' in 1971 also published by Arlington Books Ltd. His 1977 Science Fiction novel 'Meanwhile' is set on an unnamed island and combines a wide range of individual narratives and themes. Max was killed in a paragliding accident.

Search | Add | 4 | Ninefin9ers | Ninefin9ers➈ is undoubtedly loopy in his love of electrotastic music. Once the serious quatschmaker was the owner of a bar in Berlin-Neukölln, in whose famous-infamous non-official techno-basement all kinds of crazy events took place. Mercifully, the company went bankrupt in 2019 and he finally got the space to focus on his true passion: making music instead of (drinking) drinks. So it’s no surprise that he keeps surprising with a special, imaginative sound. Influences from hip hop, classical music, jazz and wherever they come from do not make it easy to assign his tonal output to a well-known category of electronic music. It ranges from deep, dark minimal techno to groovy acid tech house. On stage he only performs live. Absurd and/or funny passages are then to be expected, but also maybe not, you simply cannot know beforehand. Either way, with ingredients like love, fun and truthfulness, he creates peppery-spicy, energetically forward-floating vibes that gets the audiences' hearts and legs pounding.
