Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | GavinDaVinci | GavinDaVinci moved to Limerick from Tipperary in 2017 and began producing an album titled "Mr. MAAD The Inventor". By the time the project was complete, he had linked up with the earliest form of PX Music, notably DJ Replay and producer Akia, to release the album as the first project through the soon-to-be label. Since then, he has played every city in Ireland, building a reputation for raucous shows. He has since self-produced another album titled "superscumbagmode" to notoriety across the country. GavinDaVinci has been in the lists for top Irish artists from passionweiss, Nialler9 and District Magazine, and also won a fan-based vote for Best Music Video of the Year (2019) through new trend Squick. 2020 has seen him release another self-produced EP titled "Please, don't listen to my shit if you love me". Production credits include; Post Punk Podge, Hazey Haze and Murli. "What differentiates DaVinci and his crew from this current class of rappers is their steadfast commitment to re-imagining ‘90’s street rap through a contemporary working-class Irish lens. It’s like Griselda Records minus the gangster realism and the black American perspective—neo-noir dispatches from forgotten parts of modern Ireland where brawling, drug-fueled binges, unrequited love, and treacherous betrayals are an everyday thing. Just don’t ask them how to cook crack." - Passion Weiss "Plenty of filthy bass-lines, eerie samples, and scumbag based lyricism" - District Magazine “Transcending genres and tearing up the rule book when it comes to writing a hip hop album” – Prima Volta “DaVinci displays a flare for the self aware, penning from a perspective that oozes understanding and maturity” – Nialler9 “Brusque accented rap” – Notion Magazine "A madcap performer who shreds Hiberno-English into bloodstained, zany rap, DaVinci is the group’s ODB, but somehow also its RZA. His refreshingly strange songs show why, and how, the unvarnished rural Irish accent can work in rap." - VICE

Search | Add | 4 | Mauro Bolognini | Mauro Bolognini (28 June 1922 - 14 May 2001) was an Italian film director of literate sensibility, known for masterful handling of period subject matter. Mauro Bolognini was born in Pistoia, Tuscany. A former architectural student, Bolognini began his film career as an assistant to director Luigi Zampa in Italy, and directors Yves Allegret and Jean Delannoy in France. He began directing his own feature films in the mid 1950s, and had his first international success with Gli innamorati ("Wild Love"). His other notable films of the 1950s and early 1960s include Giovani mariti ("Young Husbands"), La notte brava, La giornata balorda ("From a Roman Balcony"), and the Marcello Mastroianni-Claudia Cardinale starrer Il bell'Antonio (arguably his masterpiece), all written by Pier Paolo Pasolini. Parting professionally with Pasolini in 1961, Bolognini went on to direct two sensual love stories starring Cardinale, La Viaccia and Senilità, before turning his talents to a series of international anthology films, including Le bambole (The Dolls), I tre volti ("Three Faces of a Woman"), Le fate ("The Queens") and Le streghe (The Witches).

Search | Add | 4 | Dave Dersham | "Marine” -- a particular descriptor of Dave Dersham's work, according to anti-folk artist, and occasional improv-slam poet, James O’Brien (NYC). Murky, cautionary tales of submerging archipelagos, the unfolding eco-dystopia, Samoan pigskin heroes, work-whimsy of grunt afternoons among the Western Massachusetts lowlands, where Dave spent his formative years and has remained, despite generally poor ski-quality snowpack and ever-increasing flood plain humidity, bound by the Holyoke Range and her seven sisters. Dave completed “The Burn of Summer” (2003) in Somerville, MA, with the engineering assist of Jabe Beyer, Tim Kelly, and Tom Eaton. They, and a generous crew of remarkable talent, somehow got it all together, enabling the album to enjoy regular airtime on Folk Radio’s WUMB (UMASS/Boston) WERS (Emerson College), and a finalist selection for Mountain Stage's Emerging Artist competition. “Gilding the Lilies” came out in 2011, recorded and accompanied by Lloyd Thayer and Jared Fiske. The 10 tunes were colored with lap steel, electric guitar, percussion, and keyboard. The work was distributed internationally. Dave Dersham is a sly humorist, cultural critic, and melancholy optimist. A groover of uncanny rhythm, muted chords, and open-hearted tenderness.

Search | Add | 4 | Pete Smolen | Peter Nathen Smolen | Was located in Columbia, South Carolina and was co-owner of Ripete Records. Peter "Pete" Nathen Smolen, age 76, died Aug. 2, 2023, after a 13-year stay of cancer that he never let define him. Pete was born in 1947 in New York City and spent his youth in White Plains, N.Y., and then in Ahoskie, N.C. He graduated from Duke University in 1969 with a degree in history, after an about-turn from pre-med, and then promptly didn't use either degree in his start at Record Bar, a music store chain based in Durham where he soon became a buyer. Looking for a city to start his own music store business, Pete moved his family to Columbia, S.C., where he resided for the remainder of his years. His first Sounds Familiar location opened in 1976 in Landmark Square in Columbia, SC. Over the years, Sounds Familiar grew to three locations in Columbia SC with stores in Myrtle Beach SC, Charlotte NC and Asheville NC at times. He was also part-owner of Paradise Records in Fayetteville, N.C., Greenstreets music club in Columbia and Carolina beach music label Ripete Records, which he ran with partner-in-crime and good friend Marion (Rion) Carter. He loved a nightly Dewar's on the rocks, Duke basketball, floating on the Black River with friends, old movies (even if the movie didn't age well) and music, especially rock 'n' roll and R&B – John Prine, Otis Redding, The Who. But he also loved the Bee Gees, Master P and Lil' Kim for all the money they made for Sounds Familiar. Although beach music was very good to him, he never did learn how to dance the shag. Search | Add | 4 | Nicholas Edward Williams | More than ever before, a wealth of people are writing songs and playing the acoustic guitar. So much so, that it can be perceived as a tired idea. But every once in awhile, there are artists that come into the fold who are living the unique music they create. Such is the case with Seattle-born fingerpicking stomp box rover, Nicholas Edward Williams. Williams was injected with a bohemian lifestyle during a nomadic childhood. By the time he was twelve years of age, his family of four had already moved across four states and nearly ten houses from the west to the east coast. He had no idea that he was being unconsciously groomed to live the Kerouac condition one day; destined to ramble, tell stories of nature, moral ground, and singing about the great people and the multiple levels of the human experience in travel. "My Grandparents took my sister and I from California to Hershey, PA and back a few times through the summer, and we took different routes each time to see various landmarks and plenty of gravestones of people I’d never met. Needless to say, I the desire to move around is in my blood." Williams began living a life on the road full-time in 2012 to pursue his music. First in a Honda Element, and later a self-converted Sprinter Van, carrying everything he owned inside a 20 foot vessel with his wife for three years. The simplistic lifestyle of spending ample amounts of time in nature and meeting various characters enabled Williams to focus his writing on the evolving self and observations of his surroundings, as opposed to the over-saturated topic of love and heartbreak that have dominated airwaves for decades. "For me, there is an unrivaled freedom in allowing life to unfold in front of you, rather than trying to grab life by the horns so you can feel like you’re in control. There are hardships of course on the road, but nothing that isn’t already a part of the process if you’re a career musician. You just have to adjust accordingly if you want longevity.” The sound that you hear from Williams now isn't exactly the same as it used to be. The bones were there, though the style he was destined for has only been recently discovered. From 2007 to 2018, Williams performed under the folk-soul moniker "Whetherman". During those years, he independently released eight full-length albums while continuously touring across the US, as well as throughout the UK and Western Europe. Williams was also afforded opportunities to opened for acclaimed acts such as Taj Mahal and The Wood Brothers. He owes his success to being exposed to roots and string music early on, forever shaping his career. "I essentially 'grew up' as a musician at a very special place called The Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL. I had the pleasure of performing at roots music festivals there since 2010, and that's where I was first exposed to Bluegrass, Old Time and Traditional Folk Music." This opened his eyes to a whole new world of possibilities for the direction of his music, though it wouldn't be fully realized until many years later. By mid 2017, Williams had hit a wall in his personal life and musical career, after nearly six years without a reasonable break. He decided to cancel two months of tour, and moved to Central America for seven months, by far the longest step back since launching the project. His goal was to reframe his mentality, and find a spark. This led to an evolution in musical style, dropping the "Whetherman" moniker and a desire to set forth under his full name starting in 2019. With a fresh thirst for learning fingerpicking techniques, Williams dove in depth to school himself in the history of American music, from Appalachian folk, country blues, Piedmont Blues, and deep rooted Mississippi Delta blues from the likes of Doc Watson, Mississippi John Hurt and Elizabeth Cotten. His affinity for songwriting also grew and matured from an unfeigned love for storytellers like John Prine, Paul Simon and Jim Croce. “I’ve become a student again. I’m absolutely fascinated with tracing American music back to it’s immigrant roots, and how these styles have woven the fabric of roots music as we know it today.” The troubadour tells stories of the silent, simple perils of the average Joe. He plays on the cliche rhythms of married life, the age of convenience, the footprint of our generation, paying homage to his musical heroes, imagery of men drinking to the follies of America, and good old-fashioned murder ballads. Williams has his own brand of satire, simple honesty, and vivid imagery that translates into energetic live shows, harnessing rhythmic fingerpicking, soaring vocals, rolling harmonica, heart-thumping stomp box and charismatic whistling. All of which is backed with engaging descriptions and infectious personality between songs. With renewed energy and fervor, Williams is set to release his debut solo album titled, ‘As I Go Ramblin' Around’ in June of 2019.

Search | Add | 4 | Diversion Voice | Sometimes to make something new appear a number of factors, which have covered an accidentally emerged in the space route, should meet in one point and form a single unit with its new independent qualities. "Diversion Voice" group was formed on the 30th of June, 2009. The members of the group are: Matvey Ushakov - guitar Ilya Bolkisev - saxophone, electronics Dmitry Krasov - guitar, percussion Ivan Dorokhov - bass Alexey Kryuchkov - drums Different music preferences of the group members provided a fertile field for experiments. "Diversion Voice" perform instrumental music that is close in style to progressive, atmospheric, psychedelic, rock. By the time "Diversion Voice" emerged, the musicians had already worked well together in other music collectives. They all used to be members of the "Kitaygorod". Alexey Kryuchkov and Matvey Ushakov take part in live performances and help Felix Tokarev and his group "Offшоры" by the studio work. Ivan Dorokhov is a member of "The Danke Schon" project. Ilya Bolkisev makes sets with DJs. Dmitry Krasov performed with the "Global Beat School" and now is a part of "Udalennie Faily" group (which later joined Alexey Kryuchkov and Matvey Ushakov). There is no ideological leader in "Diversion Voice", who would direct the creative process to a particular course. Instead of that, the directing vector of the group is a tacit rule: to keep those musical variants, that give the best fit for all the members. A result of such collective work are unusual compositions that you can hear at live performances.
