Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Alexander started making music in 2000 and is best known as Banana Inc., an alias he created as an ideal match for the famous "Monkey Island" track released in 2004 as a tribute to the Monkey Island video game theme song. He was also known as ClubPimps and DanceCore Maniax and started producing Hip Hop beats in the mid-2000s as The Analogy, inspired by artists like Mobb Deep, G-Unit, Nas, Jadakiss, Styles P and The Alchemist. In 2006, Alexander founded the Hands Up groups Minozza Inc. with Dennis Nicholls from Verano and Dirty Larry with Dennis Johannsen, aka Freddy Hawk. In 2010, he produced Madam Michelle's debut single "MP3" and "Den Sorte Dame" for Robin og Bugge, which was named "Russelåt" of the year in Norway. The following year, in 2011, an unreleased Electro track called "Bli Med Meg Hjem" with Robin og Bugge gave birth to Kamazutra, a project Alexander and co-producer Stian Kittilsen, known as Stian K, formed with producer and songwriter Erik Smaaland and rapper Suchet Dhindsa, aka Lættis Weed. After releasing his last House productions with the Foreign Language alias during the mid-2010s, Alexander had to conclude his music hobby because of his time-consuming involvement in the insurance industry.

Search | Add | 7 | Orchester Roy Livingstone | The Orchestra Roy Livingstone does not seam to have been a stable formation under one conductor or musical director, as identical recordings have also been released from and under the names [a3692711], [a4082987], [a10681873] and [a14437832], so it seems obvious that the name Roy Livingstone was used for performances by different formations in order to establish a brand or recognition value. There is no doubt, that composer, orchestra leader and producer [a1030696] had the main responsibility for these recordings, as he was involved in a significant number of titles as producer and composer, also under various pseudonyms. Other musicians and composers involved were, for example, [a823891], [a443327], [a2057027], [a320184], [a1016199] and [a382410].

Search | Add | 7 | The Infamous Arab | Chicago born Kid Heartbreak began his professional mixing career back in 1996 while still a teenager with his first mix tape titled "Chapter One". This was a freestyle medley as Kid had become very interested in freestyle music during his high school years, even though rap music was his first love. The success of his first couple mix tapes on the streets of Chicago inspired a situation where Kid was coming out with a new mix tape every month (freestyle or rap). By 1998, Kid Heartbreak had established himself as one of Chicago's most elite mix tape djs. After several years of networking and establishing connects with other artists, producers, and underground record labels, Kid was able to release a fully licensed album in 2003 featuring many tracks exclusive to that CD. There was also a 12" release from the CD, featuring full dj versions along with acapellas of 3 of the hottest tracks on the album. Kid is also the executive producer behind the Ill Clicks Militia, a rap group that he discovered during the mix tape years. Between the years of 1997 to 2004, Kid released over 30 different mix tape titles combining to sell over 70,000 units. The Chicago mix tape scene is now far subdued compared to what it once was, but Kid Heartbreak continues to do his thing. Kid has a master's degree in accounting as well as a CPA. Music and accounting together make up Kid Heartbreak's life. Kid Heartbreak had always wanted to spit his own freestyle song and earlier this year, completed this track "Thoughts of Her". This song is written and produced by Kid Heartbreak himself. He Passed Away In 2017 R.I.P. A Chicago Legend Forever

Search | Add | 7 | Wermod | Indebted to the radiophonic pioneers of yore and the last grasps of summer holidays that bridged that brief moment between primary and secondary schools, Wermod (Wormwood) is Wales’s first séance psych band. Channelling the recently re-discovered recordings of a seldom heard regional quartet made in 1975, Wermod’s influences range from the avant garde works of Dennys Irving to the eerie soundtrack of Picnic at Hanging Rock. Wermod create electronically altered hauntology tone poems that hark back to the imagined past’s futures which have yet to materialise. This is the sound of half-hummed electronic folk songs to Wales’ unclaimed Utopia.

Search | Add | 7 | Humphrey Astley | Humphrey 'Huck' Astley is a writer and musician based in Oxford, England. In the '00s, Astley founded Rain over Bouville, a poetry press, and was a member of the much-loved noise-rock group Sextodecimo (Oxford's greatest ever metal band, according to the local press). He has since graduated with Distinction from degrees at Ruskin College and the University of Oxford, and his poetry has appeared in a range of British and North American publications. His 2014 pamphlet 'Stones through the Windows to the Soul' is downloadable from this site. In 2010, Astley's short-lived gothic americana quartet Huck & The Handsome Fee embarked on a US tour that would inspire his three-part narrative album 'Alexander the Great: a Folk Operetta', which he describes as "A queer runaway myth of two young friends and their fall from grace in Dixie." Then, in 2013, Huck & The Xander Band partnered with PinDrop Music and adapted 'Alexander the Great' into a stage-show, which was hand-picked by The PRS Foundation for their New Music Plus development scheme. The show debuted at The Cambridge Junction in 2014 and has since been described as "Raw and powerful... an impressive display of visual flair and mesmerising songwriting." (The York Press) Astley is also a member of alt-pop group Crandle and indie-folk band The Epstein, who have just released their third album, 'Burn the Branches'. In the meantime he is writing for Sabotage Reviews and The Oxford Times and is a member of the Oxford Writers' House.

In Russian, [i]Никакой[/i] means “none”, “undefined”, “featureless”). Nikakoi released his debut album [r=106252] in 2002 on [l=WMF Records] in Berlin, followed by [r=178243] next year. In 2004, Machaidze presented his new alter ego, [b]Erast[/b], and released [r=267413] and [r=329573] EPs (second and third releases on a recently established [l=Laboratory Instinct] label). Erast is a reference to Erast Fandorin, a main character of a critically acclaimed book series by [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/4979940]Boris Akunin[/url]. Nika released [r=506712], a debut full-length album by Erast, in 2006. In 2009, Nikakoi returned with two releases on Laboratory Instinct: 2xCD compilation [r=2081020] (best tracks from both albums plus unreleased material), and a new double ambient album [r=2081000]. This work marked a significant shift in Nikakoi's artistic style and consisted of two rhythmless ambient tracks and a collection of sublime piano-based electronic soundscapes on the second disc. In 2012, Nikakoi released a new album in Japan – [r=3558829], a collaboration with Tokyo-based musician [a=Coppé]. His most recent work, [r=9289110] EP, was released on [l=Transfigured Time] in 2016. Nika Machaidze composed soundtracks for Archil Kavtaradze, Salome Machaidze, Zaza Rusadze and other notable Georgian movie directors. He also wrote music for several theatrical plays, such as [i]The Park[/i] by [a=Botho Strauß]. Machaidze is closely tied and had been collaborating extensively with [a=Natalie Beridze] (also known as [a=TBA (2)] and [a=Tusia Beridze]) and [a=George Dzodzuashvili] ([a=Post Industrial Boys]). |

Search | Add | 7 | Gegenschein | Gegenschein was a Dutch post-rock band that existed from 2013-2022. The members of Gegenschein were Henk Bril (a.k.a. "the Genius"), Rob Hotje (a.k.a. "the Voice") and William MacVaine (a.k.a. "the Wizzard"). Gegenschein was based in Sittard, The Netherlands. HQ was the 'ARSIS Studios' (ARSIS: A Roof Somewhere in Sittard), owned by William MacVaine. The musical style is a post-rock melting pot with influences of Pink Floyd, Brian Eno, Rammstein, Alan Parsons, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Electric Light Orchestra, Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Anne Pigalle, Manuel Gottsching, Laurie Anderson and Kraftwerk. Although the name sounds German, most songs are in English. The first album 'Dark Moon Over Paradise' was released in December 2015; the second album 'Struggle For Passion' was released in November 2019. In January 2022 a compilation double lp was released with highlights from the two CD's and two previously unreleased numbers. Work had begon on their third album 'Magnificient Desolation', but COVID-19 restrictions from 2020 through 2022 delayed the work on the album significantly. The unexpected split up of the band (July 2022) unfortunately makes it uncertain that it will be finalized. However it is the intention of the former band members that it will be finished and released on lp or cd. Gegenschein (German pronunciation: [ˈɡeːɡənʃaɪn] German for "countershine") is a faint brightening of the night sky in the region of the antisolar point. [Source: Wikipedia.]

Search | Add | 7 | Розалия Симановская | Rosalia Simanovskaya – Soviet performing musician: accordion, marimbaphone. She performed in a duet with Miron Raskatov = [a2215620]. The duet of Moscow artists Rosalia Simanovskaya and Miron Raskatov enjoyed fame in the 1920s–1950s. The musicians' repertoire included arrangements of popular classics, songs, and dance music. In the 1950s, they recorded a lot on records - as a duet and accompanied by a pop orchestra. During the war, they played as part of propaganda brigades on different fronts - from the Northern to the Southern. On such trips they did without a marimbaphone: Miron Raskatov played the ukulele, Rosalia Simanovskaya played the accordion.

Search | Add | 7 | The Ex-Bombers | The Ex-Bombers are a sinister psychedelic blues duo who play suspiciously resonant songs harnessing the thunder of electric 8-string bass and drums, a pair of wrecking ball voices, and a delightful kaleidoscope perspective of a world on fire. Since 2010 they have been amassing a cult following through their scintillating live shows and five electrifying vinyl releases on Cavetone Records. Thee Story: “Can you hear my heart beat? Whisper in my ear.” Each breath brings with it a shared collective consciousness until, hesitation... it skips a beat. Electricity charges the moment with its velvet touch and The Ex-Bombers begin the sonic ritual with an electric 8 string bass, a small drum set, and a unique blues-meets-garage-meets-jazz dual vocal attack. Their songs are both timely and timeless. The Ex-Bombers promotional photo complete with leather, cat print, and plastic wrap " A sinister extension of the late 60s sound, the pair would have been the house band for the leather club across from the Fillmore West. Think Grace Slick and Lou Reed took over The Doors, add the verve of first-wave garage psych (ex: Music Machine, Chocolate Watchband, Shadows of Knight), and stir in some of the most clever songwriting ever committed to wax. Primal pop hooks, unforgettable frenetic performances, and the type of honesty that only a funhouse mirror can provide. The Ex-Bombers have been a cult band in the making since their debut in a “venue” called the Snake Pit (a townhouse garage) back in 2010 where the decidedly non-punk pair dressed in all black ripped out a set of scintillating originals, perverted versions of covers, and let a pre-recorded VHS tape take the place of banter between songs. Everyone became lost in a shared moment. Curious looks turned to dedicated followers. Since that show, M. Keri Cousins (drums) and S.M. Nancy Walus (bass) have played anywhere with a power outlet on some of the biggest and the smallest stages at clubs, bars, breweries, art spaces, and even three weddings (Catholic, Pagan, and non-denominational for those keeping track). Along the way, they put out five vinyl releases on Cavetone Records that have been met with adulation and intrigue. The releases include multiple long players (“The Tightwire” [2012] / “Five Star Night” [2015] / “New Love Is Easy” [2021]) and 7” releases (Anti-single [2013] / Original Halloween tune [2018]) all recorded completely analog in the spirit of 1967 complete with the crazy concept of playing the songs live / together in a singular take. Known for the production of their albums, the pair have also been the invisible hands that have produced countless other bands' records. The Ex-Bombers continue to dedicate themselves to the craft of being musicians, chasing sounds, and writing songs that describe a kaleidoscope existence that is anything but vanilla.
