Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 7 | Spiraloff | Stéphane P. Péricat | Started in 2002 in France as a solo project, Spiraloff released a first self-produced ep on CD-R at the end of 2002 entitled "Nokindovlivin'" containing 4 tracks, which was followed in 2003 by the self-titled first album "Spiraloff". Spiraloff then went on different paths, exploring different horizons with projects such as [anal]Og.sys, The Fauxhemians or Acridspleen. After a long hiatus (almost a decade), Spiraloff was reborn as an Amsterdam-based, two-men band at the end of 2012 and dropped a surprise new track for Xmas day '13 called 'As Long As It takes' for free on their Bandcamp. A new EP called "Born To Write Sad Songs" was released a few months later in February 2013 on NIDALI Records, and later that year the follow-up EP in the "Amsterdam EP's" trilogy "Lonely Ride 7'". The trilogy was completed early 2015 with the release of "Weathered In My Heart". This 4-track EP took almost 7 months to record and produce, and elaborates extensively on the topic on lost relationships. For Record Store Day '15, Spiraloff dropped a surprise new single called "Miles Apart", an experimental, 2-part piece of music opening new sonic horizons for the 2-headed band |

Search | Add | 7 | Wermod | Indebted to the radiophonic pioneers of yore and the last grasps of summer holidays that bridged that brief moment between primary and secondary schools, Wermod (Wormwood) is Wales’s first séance psych band. Channelling the recently re-discovered recordings of a seldom heard regional quartet made in 1975, Wermod’s influences range from the avant garde works of Dennys Irving to the eerie soundtrack of Picnic at Hanging Rock. Wermod create electronically altered hauntology tone poems that hark back to the imagined past’s futures which have yet to materialise. This is the sound of half-hummed electronic folk songs to Wales’ unclaimed Utopia.

Search | Add | 7 | King Alex | Alex Littlejohn | "King-Alex" was born July 29, 1934 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and passed away March 15, 2008. He grew up with his musical family in Forriday, Louisiana. At age 14, he moved to Kansas City and began his musical training with help from bass lessons from Claude "Fiddler" Williams. Formal training at UMKC's Conservatory of Music helped Alex refine his ability to play the bass and he was the first African-American bassist to play an electric bass in Kansas City through the Conservatory. He was a career musician living and working the rest of his life in Kansas City. He performed at local venues, regional and national blues and jazz festivals. He performed with the late Tommy Soul, Lester "Wizard" King, Albert Collins, B.B. King, Jerry Lee Lewis, Lawrence Wright and the Outlets, Leon Estelle, "Little-Joe" Robinson and Claude "Fiddler" Williams - just to name a few. His group The Turnpikes recorded a couple of sides in the late 1950's for the Central label, followed by more sides in the early 1960's for Spindle. There was a long gap of 15 years before recording a single for NMI in 1979 and another 15+ years before he entered the most productive era of recording, as a slew of full-length albums came out in in the 1990s and early 2000s. Littlejohn was inducted into the Elder Statesmen of Kansas City Jazz in 2002 along with former employer and life-long friend Richard "Dick" Berkley. |

Search | Add | 7 | Sirr D'Kay | Salar Peyhani | Sirr born January 06, 1987 in Tehran, Iran is a Danish record producer, rapper and film photographer. He is the founder and current CEO of [l=Kbh All Stars] and All Star Studio. Sirr started his music career at an early age of 13, writing & producing music in 2000, but wasn't active in the music business until 4 years later. Soon he teamed up with childhood friend [a4725991], and started a musical collaboration together. In 2003 they formed the hip hop group [a=Ripz], with friends from school/neighborhood and began writing and producing new experimental material. The group had 3 rappers and 2 singers, so they named their style/genre "Hip PoP", a mixture of 2 genres that represented their individual styles and roles in the group. In 2004 they released their debut album [r=7750732], recorded in only 2 weeks which included 10 new original songs and 9 remakes, remixes & skits from earlier demos. Performing was a big part of the group, so [a=Ripz] toured for a year, with singing/rapping and performed with multiple show-dancers. After the tour ended it, they decided to break up the group and end the collaboration. Sirr decided to retire as a rapper, and for the following 5 years he was only focused on producing, but in 2008, he started to manage & produce the artist Haider. He and the former [a=Ripz] member [a4725991] started writing again and produced Haider's 2nd debut single [r=6140251] together with [l744217], which had its release that same year. Meanwhile, the hit song [r=7751573] (testicles in Danish) was produced by Sirr and 3 friends from the music business, which formed the comedy-group "8Ball". The 4 members of the group (having 2 balls each), came up with the group name and produced the music video for the single, which had over a million hits on YouTube in just 2 months, without a label or any promotion. This was quite huge, considering that the population of Denmark only being 5 million people and music streaming on YouTube was still new in 2009, was pretty amazing. The group went on a club tour, performed together on stage as Ronnie Lennett the lead, David Bertelsen the rapper and Sirr as the DJ. After 8Ball's second single [r=7751699], Sirr left the group and began producing for multiple artists. Later, in 2011 he discovered the twin brothers "Mark & Tim". They formed the group [a4726108] together and began producing their first EP, which was released the following year, including a music video, that Sirr directed, produced and released through his record label [l=Kbh All Stars]. After the [a4726108] project ended, Sirr got more into the film industry and found his new passion: making music videos, through his new film company Seebra. |

Author of ‘Caruso On Records’ Aida Favia-Artsey was born December 5th, 1904 in Russia, and died on February 14th, 1998, at the age of 93, in Westchester, NY. Her father, Raffaele Favia, a Russian baritone of Italian descent, sang and taught professionally, and he and his daughter even made a record together with Victor in 1920, although it was never published. She started record collecting in late 1930s and corresponded with a lot of old-time Opera stars, such as Titta Ruffo, Geraldine Farrar, and some other rather unknown artists such as Edith Helena and Fritzi Scheff - the former later appeared on the TV show "Life begins at 80" with the help of Ms. Favia-Artsay in 1955. She married an engineer, who helped her a lot with some technical stuffs such as the stroboscope that was the part of "Caruso on Records" book that could cover up from 67.92rpm to 87.80rpm. From 1950s to 70s she made some private LP reissues from her collection, mostly with Edward J. Smith. Also, she even provided some of Mapleson Cylinders that were missing from the NYPL's collection. Her final article appeared on Opera Quarterly, Fall of 1993.

Search | Add | 7 | Cheflodeezy | Llordel Taylor | Cheflodeezy is a Jamaican born Miami rapper. Deezy moved to Opa Locka, Miami at the age of 9 where he lived with his mom and younger brother. Deezy found his love for music as a teenager at Miami Central High, when his best friend at the time introduced him to the beat making platform Fruity Loops. After high school, Deezy fell into the street life. By the age of 21 he had multiple arrests, struggled with homelessness and the loss of a few close friends to gun violence. After almost going to prison for undisclosed cases and the birth of his first child llamiyah, Deezy decided to change his life. The Miami rapper went to culinary school and pursued a career as a professional chef. This is where he got the nick name “Cheflodeezy”. He free-styled and had other students listen to his music on a daily basis. After graduating culinary school, Deezy began to climb in the hospitality industry. Cheflodeezy started to literally blow up in the culinary word where he was featured in SoHo House world magazine as a rising star on Deco drive, and cooking for various celebrities on visits. Never letting his love for music die, Cheflodeezy went to recording studios on his days off and wrote music before and after work on most days. Still dream chasing and dropping music weekly, Cheflodeezy does this for the love of the craft. |

Search | Add | 7 | Orquesta 11 De Octubre | One of the best orchestras in Panama was on October 11, which was integrated with a selection of musicians from our armed institute. The 11 de Octubre orchestra was financed by the National Guard and in its early years it was destined for charitable functions. The director of this orchestra was Captain Víctor M. Paz, who in the fifties directed, with his brother Vitín, the orchestra of the Paz Brothers. The first foreign artist who recorded with October 11 was the restless Anacober Daniel Santos. Daniel recorded a full-length album with songs that today are valuable pieces for record collectors. Even, he himself intervened in the arrangements. The 11 de Octubre orchestra performed in Cuba, Venezuela and other countries of the Caribbean basin. He recorded another LP titled "Soberanía" where they sing Felipe Carrasco and the other vocalists of the orchestra. They imposed a musical style and one of their record successes was "Palomita Titibú". The National Guard had other musical groups as the group The Return and the Second Battalion that also reached popularity.

Search | Add | 7 | Tongångarne | Swedish student orchestra from Gothenburg, formed in 1962. Their first two decades were marked by an eclectic mix of classical music, jazz and marches, performed with great technical skill and in odd arrangements. In the late 1970's the band's lineup changed into a big band, and the musical style changed accordingly to be more focused on big band jazz with a large helping of pop, soul and disco. The late records are mostly original tunes, while the earlier ones are mostly elaborate arrangements of classical "hits". Since the nineties the band have billed themselves as a "show band". Tongångarne is a member orchestra in the federation of Swedish student orchestras, Riks-SMASK.

Search | Add | 7 | E. Richard Freniere | American graphic artist and illustrator, former cartoonist. Born 1921 in Cambridge - died June 22, 2008 in Syracuse, N.Y. He lived much of his adult life in Concord, MA, before moving to Syracuse in 2003. He graduated from Cambridge High & Latin and the Massachusetts College of Art. During World War II he was a performer in the USO, and traveled New England to entertain troops with his dance and pantomime. After the war he worked as a cartoonist at the Record American newspaper and created many sports cartoons. After moving to Concord in 1954, he founded Freniere Studio, where he taught art to the community and worked as a graphic artist and illustrator. He also created many paintings, drawings in ink and in pencil, and painted many murals in the Boston area. Dick's other passion was jazz music, and his collection of 78s, LPs, CDs, tapes, books, and videos was known as one of the largest private jazz collections in New England. His illustrations of jazz artists and bands appeared on album covers and in magazines. Jam sessions at Freniere Studio, with musicians gathering to play, or friends listening to his collection, helped inspire many young people to become musicians. Dick was also active in local theater groups and participated in the Concord Players as actor, set designer, and producer. He was also known as a great storyteller and raconteur, and invited lecturer in both art and jazz.

Search | Add | 7 | Noshir Mody | Noshir Mody | Composer/Guitarist/Producer Noshir Mody is a stimulating and creative fusion guitarist displaying a beautiful tone, versatility, and inventive ideas on his picturesque originals. Throughout his career, he has recorded and performed consistently rewarding and thought-provoking sets of original music. Mody's latest set debuts a selection of thought-provoking originals that are filled with strong melodies, superior and versatile guitar playing, and warm vocals by Kate Victor. The philosophical and hopeful lyrics combine with inventive jazz solos to form a memorable work. The album features Mike Mullan on alto and tenor saxophone, Benjamin Hankle on trumpet and flugelhorn, Campbell Charshee on piano, Yuka Tadano on bass, Jarrett Walser on drums and, on two of the five main pieces, Kate Victor on vocals. Always displaying a highly individual sound on the guitar and a fresh imagination, Mody is heard in top form throughout his timely An Idealist’s Handbook: Identity, Love and Hope in America 2020. Born and raised in Bombay, India, Mody is self-taught on guitar. He has stated that his early inspirations included Indian classical music, Al DiMeola's Elegant Gypsy, music from Bollywood, and rock along with the modern jazz guitar masters. After moving to New York in 1995, Noshir Mody dedicated himself to creative music, regularly leading his own trio in clubs. His original conception to playing music was well showcased in his groups The EthniFusion Rock Ensemble and The EthniFusion Jazz Ensemble, where Mody had a who’s-who of the New York music scene as guest artists including Atila Engin (awarded Danish Composer of the Year ’85, established the World to World Drums and Percussion Festival in Copenhagen), Adam Armstrong (performed w Kenny Kirkland, Kenny Wheeler, Maria Schneider, Billy Cobham), Dan Jordan (performed w Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Arturo Sandoval, Natalie Cole), Dan Willis (performed w Michael Brecker, Roland Vasquez, John Hollenback, Kenny Wheeler), Bob Magnuson (performed w Whitney Houston, Patti Austin, B.B. King, Issac Hayes) and Mark Weinstein (performed w Eddie Palmieri, Cal Tjader and Tito Puente). Mody’s impressionistic playing and colorful originals are documented in his solo guitar recording In This World With You, his trio set Union Of Hearts and by his quintet and sextet ensembles on the albums Stories From The Years Of Living Passionately and A Burgeoning Consciousness, respectively. Mody has received the Independent Music Awards Best Jazz Instrumental Album nomination (Album: Stories From The Years Of Living Passionately), two Global Music Awards for Outstanding Achievement in the ‘Album’ and ‘Group’ categories respectively (Album: A Burgeoning Consciousness) and has twice received the GASC Outstanding Achievement in Songwriting, Instrumental category for his compositions India (Album: Stories From The Years Of Living Passionately) and Secrets In The Wood And Stone (Album: A Burgeoning Consciousness); among other accolades. |
