Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 6 | Midi Slut | Michael Poe | Mike Poe began forming his musical interests at an early age. He was fascinated by the use of electronic instruments in modern music and began listening to progressive rock groups such as Emerson, Lake and Palmer and Rick Wakeman in the 70's. It was his mother who introduced him to the experimental electronic tones of Brian Eno and Kraftwerk. His appreciation for these creative styles carried on through high school and followed him into college. During his time at Ohio University, Mike began to create electronic compositions to accompany modern dance pieces and also began to develop his styles as a DJ. His style concentrated heavily on the dark industrial sounds of Front 242 and Skinny Puppy. He added many styles to his DJ repertoire and began to introduce ambient tones and atmospheres to his DJ sets. The Orb was a major influence, which gradually led him to spin more ambient dub styled tracks. In 1993 he moved from Athens, Ohio to Columbus where he introduced his unique style and catalog of recordings to the Columbus scene. He began working with Rob Engel to create atmospheric dark ambient music that became the Midislut project with Mike spinning under the Midislut name. In 1994, he released “Ambiento”, a mix tape of selected ambient tracks, which created a buzz among the underground scene. Shortly after the release of “Ambiento,” Mike was spinning in chill out rooms at many of the now legendary ele_mental parties. Mike followed his release of “Ambiento” with “Project Blossom” in 1995. Mike provided his own compositions at the ele_mental sponsored “Boron” in August 1996. Mike was also involved in electronic music composition in the Columbus area. Contributions include the 21/22 Corp. compilation "Fusion No.5" and "Trace Ele_ments4 EP", a collaboration with Bone Tribe Productions, and an appearance on Black Music's "Adventures in Modern Recording" CD with an industrial jungle track titled "Cycle_7.1". During July of 1996, Mike began to work at the groundbreaking downtown club, Mekka. He immersed himself in the club tracks he heard from such DJ’s as Mike G, Kevy Kev, and Rob Engel along with many of the guest DJ’s who graced the decks. It wasn’t long before Mike teamed up with Doughboy, and spun “Twilight Sundaze,” where he played Chicago house and techno. Mike made Mekka his home for over four years, and attributes much of his appreciation and love for the music to his stay there. Beginning in 1998, Mike made guest appearances at Red Zone and played at many of the “Clockwork Sundaze” events that have made Doughboy famous. He opened for many of the DJ world superstars, such as Josh Wink, Marco Carolla, Charles Feelgood, and Terry Lee Brown Jr. Mike also held simultaneous residencies at both FM and Clique through the Millennium. In December of 2000, Mike traveled to Germany and played two New Years dates in Jena and Altenburg. Upon returning to the states, Mike teamed up with Kate Hazelbaker to start “Barcelona DJs@11,” which blended the eclectic tastes of a tapas restaurant with deep house and lounge style tracks. Mike currently holds residency at Eleven Restaurant and Lounge, spinning deep and tech house. He is a member of the Quality! crew often sharing the decks with his mates Jason Lyman, Jeff Pongonis, and Steve Keck. |

Search | Add | 6 | DC Da Messenger | At the age 16, DC Da Messenger was the motivating force behind a very talented singing and rap group called DC Rap Kids, which consisted largely of some very creative and innovated family members, including his younger brother and three cousins. Compositions like "World War III", "video Games", "The Smurfs", DC Rap Kids Theme" and of course "Big Chance" showed his early genius at writing with message and meaning. However, limited by lack of industry knowledge and capitol backing, the "Big Chance" never came. Eventually DC Rap Kids evolved into "DC Delinquent Teens". Da Messenger persevered and stuck to his guns, refusing to compromise his unique art form. This landed him a job with the Everyday Theater Youth Ensemble(ET), where he finally felt the "hype" of performing for more than just family and he loved it. Now more than ever, he vowed never to turn back. His experience with ET was the best thin that could have happened to Da Messenger. After Everyday Theater, Da Messenger tried to once again pull his family along, but realized that nothing happens overnight. All but one has been lost to the streets, including himself. He has never let go of his dream and remains determined to achieve whatever it was that DC Rap Kids set out to do nine years ago. He look back and wonders how many really talented undiscovered kid never get a chance to achieve their dreams, but fall victim to the stone cold street of hustling, drug abuse, robbery and everything that comes with it. On that tragic note, he dedicates the singles "AVENUE BUM RUSH",and "IT'S ON YOU".

Search | Add | 6 | Tony Teebo | Arthur Antone Thiebaut Jr. | Tony Teebo (aka, Tony Thiebaut), by age 13, had taught himself to play drums & piano, while living on the family farm, near Fort Scott, KS. At 17, in 1962, he joined the United States Air Force, right after graduating from high school. He graduated at the top of his classes in training & became a Medical Service Specialist. In November, 1963, he was Honorably Discharged, with Service Medals, Citations & Diplomas. Upon his return to Kansas, he formed his first band, “The Aardvarks,” a regional favorite for about five years. In 1968, his second band, “The New Survivors,” recorded at Hi-Fidelity Studios in Wichita, KS, on the Kan Wic Label. The bands first record, “The Pickle Protest,” written by Tony, became a #1 regional hit, & was quickly, picked up by Scepter Records of New York, New York. The record was selected as a “Bill Gavin Personal Pick,” along with “Hey Jude.” This was a first for any band from Kansas. The band’s label mates, included, B. J. Thomas, Little Richard, Deep Purple, Dionne Warwick & The Shirelles. Unfortunately, the band’s five-record contract with Scepter was cancelled after their manager cashed a $150,000 advance check, & vanished! 1970 - 1972, Tony was elected by fellow music students, as Student Director of the Fort Scott Community College, Stage & Concert band’s, as well at the largest, College Marching Band in the United States. Tony led this band down the field, at the televised, National Junior College Football Championship…the Shrine Bowl, in Savannah, Georgia, December, 1971. FSCC won against Mesa, AZ! While attending FSCC, he formed, “Shootin’ Bluz,“ with first-chair horn players from the concert band. This was a 7 piece group, & performed with a “light show,” produced by Roger Aldis…“Rogers Rainbow.“ 1972, while attending Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS, Tony auditioned & was given the position of lead singer with another horn band, “The Sensational Showmen.” This group performed a reunion concert, as a Humanities For The Arts, event in 2008, & were inducted into the Kansas Music Hall (2) Of Fame, in 2009. In the mid 70’s, he was signed as a solo, songwriter/recording artist with GRT/Catfish, Nashville. GRT released several singles, with the most successful being, “Rock & Roll Cowboy,” which topped Canadian Charts. Some label mates at GRT, included, Mickey Gilley, Jimmy Buffett, Van Morrison, Kool & The Gang, Steely Dan, & The Mamas & Papas. In 1975, Teebo was elected, under his legal name, as an ASCAP Songwriter, with ASCAP advancing him several, thousand dollars, to help his career. In January, 1981, Teebo’s recording of, “Welcome Home,” was played at the White House, in honor of the release of American Hostages, by the government of Iran. 1980’s: Tony was contracted to sing four-part-harmony on a Skeeter Davis, recording, & he recorded a set of songs with Janie Fricke singing his background tracks. He was also fortunate enough to record with the famous, Bobby Hardin Singers, & Hargus “Pig” Robbins on piano. Most of his recording was done at Producers Workshop, in Oklahoma City, with additional recording at Ojas, Studio 7, Benson Sound, Them Girls, & the Dick Wilkinson Studios, also in OKC. His “Kick-N-Lick” project, began at Ojas, continued at Billy’s Band Aid in Amarillo, & was mastered at the famous Bill Rase Studio, in Sacramento, CA. Tony also recorded at LSI & Woodland Studios in Nashville. In 1992, while living in Colorado Springs, CO, Tony wrote a performance review & interviewed The Marshal Tucker Band for Steppin‘ Out Magazine. The editor was impressed, & within a month, Tony had a ten-page, weekly section in Steppin’ Out, called Western World. Over the next several years, he reviewed many performers including, Billy Dean, Mark Chesnutt, Yakov Smirnoff, Wayne Newton, Toby Keith, Fess Parker, Johnny Paycheck, Chris Ledoux, Highway 101, Confederate Railroad, Waylon Jennings, Doug Stone, Glen Campbell, Ray Stevens, Andy Williams, Roy Clark, President & Mrs. Bush (Senior), Moe bandy, John Anderson, Johnny Cash, Jim Stafford & T.G. Sheppard, & penned dozens of informational articles dealing with a myriad of subjects. In 1997, Tony was contacted by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, & contracted as lead singer with the Show Band, “Northern Lights.” The band played the main showroom, “Anchors Aweigh,” to a full-house of 735 cruisers, six nights a week. Other performers included The Captain & Tennille, &The 5th Dimension. He rates this experience as a career highlight. His first, self-recorded CD, “Timeless,” was released in 2001. This CD collected many, positive newspaper reviews & continues selling today. In 2008, he won First Place at the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival, for his instrumental composition, “For The Fallen.” 2012 saw the release of his second, solo CD, “Small Consolation.,” another critically acclaimed project. Teebo’s first self-recorded, instrumental project, “Earth Touch,” was released in 2012. This project was created to draw further attention to the continued destruction of the worlds Rain Forests. His music has been used for nearly two decades, in the television series, “Pay Back,” in Spain, & his various recordings are currently being played in all European & Scandinavian Countries as well as The United Kingdom & New Zealand. Tony has written, produced & performed dozens of regional, national & international “jingles.” A few examples being, Sonic Drive Ins, Shell Oil Company, The Cox Cable Network, & The American Dental Assn. Tony’s compilation, music projects, that include Children’s & Educational Music, have sold in the millions. Search | Add | 6 | הולי | Holy was known in the local scene as a top guitar player for a short time during the 80's. He recorded "Hayanshuf" trying to break through but since his music was rooted deep in the 60's & 70's psych-blues-rock he didn't managed to sign with any major record company. He decided to produce the album entirely by himself including a completely DYI cover which he folded and taped by himself. As for the music, the album has the grace of a low budget production and the feel of a real enthusiastic guy, devoted to his music and free spirit. two tracks of the sound sample include his cover version to Jimi Hendrix "Hey Joe" (which combine phrases from Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Hendrix's own US anthem fuzz cover!) and a instrumental "hendrix style" track full of fuzz-feedbacks and swirl guitar, Rest of the songs on the album are sung in Hebrew! Privately pressed somewhere in the early 80's in no more than 100 copies (50 copies is agreed to be the most accurate number). This album was never reissued on LP or CD. The album failed to sell and got lost in history, Holy's only "big" success was a great blues gem session with Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac) while Green's visit in Israel in the 80's (recorded on a private CD). Although he's still living in Israel he has vanished from the music scene since then but was spotted many times playing his guitar around the streets of Haifa and other bars blues & rock evenings, additionally, he used to be a guitar teacher.

Search | Add | 6 | Howard Lovett | Howard W Lovett II | Howard W Lovett II (b. About 1950) is an audio engineer and co-owner (with his wife Lindy Lovett) of [l716272], also known as Studio South Productions. The studio was moved previously, and has been located two former locations (with no two locations ever being in operation at the same time): 1980 to 1982: [l=Studio South, Dublin, Georgia] Studio South was originally opened in Dublin, Georgia USA in 1980, until 1982 when Lovett moved his family and studio to Augusta, Georgia USA. 1982 to September, 2000: [l=Studio South, Augusta, Georgia] the studio was located at 2510 Peach Orchard Road in nearby Augusta, Georgia Lovett has been awarded for his work in producing content for local advertising campaigns, but he is probably best known for his work with jazz trombonist [a=Wycliffe Gordon] and [a=James Brown], who usually credited Lovett on his releases as "Mr. Howard Lovett." During one recording session with [a=James Brown], Lovett had setup a quick rough mix to playback the most recent take. When James Brown heard the playback, he liked what he heard, but Lovett protested, as he thought that a pass through a computer was needed to make the rough mix as good as possible. Mr. Brown put his hand on the engineer's shoulder and reassured him that his initial efforts were just right. "Mr. Lovett, the first time God does it. The second time you do it - I want God's version," he said. Background Lovett attended Florida Bible College in Miami in the late 1960's. He was singing with Joyful Noise, one of the earliest bands to play Christian folk rock. The group attracted the notice of the record label [l=Impact (7)] (the same label as the [a=Imperials]) and Joyful Noise signed a contract with [l=Impact (7)]. Joyful Noise's first album became an immediate underground success after the college banned it because of the drums on it. Howard Lovett met his wife to be, Lindy, at school in Miami. After their wedding, the couple moved to Dublin, Georgia USA., where Mr. Lovett worked at Pine Forest United Methodist Church as a youth pastor and youth minister of music and led Bible studies. In the 1970's, Howard Lovett and his family formed Loves Shares, Inc. and went on the road with a musical-comedy act. Their 4-year-old daughter, Lori, opened the show by reciting a psalm. Mrs. Lovett ran sound and some slides while Mr. Lovett appeared onstage with a sidekick, a gun-slinging cowboy puppet named Wichita. They never did any booking themselves. Word of mouth was enough to get them 225 to 250 appearances a year at churches, high schools and, once, a McDonald's at 2 a.m. But when their children indicated they wanted to be more involved in school activities, the couple decided it was time to limit travelling and look for other income. "I thought it would be fun" to build a recording studio, said Mr. Lovett, who had worked with studios in Atlanta and Florida. Small-town Dublin, Georgia wasn't ideal for such a venture, but groups came to their studio from all over the country. In 1982, Lovett released his album [r=4955881], which features a picture of his family on the back cover. Later in 1982, The Lovetts moved from Dublin to Peach Orchard Road in Augusta at the suggestion of one of their clients, an advertising agency. |

Search | Add | 6 | Drone Forest | Artistic collective creating gritty ambient and quietnoise music. Drone Forest utilizes the internet to trade sound sources, which are assembled by the group into drone based soundscapes. With a few notable exceptions, each of Drone Forest's full-length releases are assembled by a single member of the collective, using sound sources recorded by the group. Thus the character of the group is relayed via an individual expression. Since the band is separated by great distance, audio source files are exchanged over the internet, each member's own sound studio used to manipulate and arrange the sounds toward a common set of ideals. The Drone Forest project was initiated by Ian C. Stewart in the year 2002 when he requested electronic audio files from Michael J. Bowman, C. Reider and Davie Blint. Mr. Stewart then used these files to create several long pieces of experimental music, which he set to a videotape of stark Winter trees. Search | Add | 6 | Gæoudji Sygnok | Parl Kristian Bjørn Vester | Gæoudji SYGNOK was an alias used by Danish/Faroese experimental artist Kristian Vester ([a=Goodiepal]) in collaboration with his former students and local artists [a1577809] & VJ Cancer/VJ Livstræt and old friend [a=Poul Erik Veigaard]. Hvad also operated an eponymous [l=Syg Nok] label (2008–2014), for which Goodiepal mastered most releases. Vester established the SYGNOK "band" in 2008 after expulsion from the [l447929], where he taught for four years until Mort Aux Vaches Ekstra Extra compositional game scenario and underlying "Radical Computer Music" theory were finally deemed unsuitable for the academic curriculum. In response, Gæoudjiparl declared a "Gentleman's war on the stupidity of modern computer music and media-based art" against the Royal Academy of Music in Århus. In April 2010, SYGNOK posted a YouTube clip of the Eventide H8000FW rack-mounted FX processor they stole from DIEM studios as Danegæld ("Danish debt," an ancient form of protection money paid to Vikings). In October 2010, Gæoudji SYGNOK presented [r=2513506] album. Named after Martin Lindholm's record store in Århus and pressed at his Dansk Vinyl Produktion, it was co-released by [l79184] and [l189193]. Limited to 500-1050 copies (exact quantities disputed), "Route 66 Eksperimentet" had no playable grooves, with intricate etchings covering the entire LP surface. The cover listed over 30 prominent independent labels that had previously offered Goodiepal releases. Vester finally delivered one "ultimate LP" to all of them (including labels that already went defunct, like [l=Lucky Kitchen]), even assigning "proper" catalog numbers, — without any communication or prior notice to involved companies, though. The record explicitly limited the retail price to 250 DKK ($33) on the spine, but each copy included a genuine 500 Danish Kroner bill, doubling the buyer's investment. Around 40 copies were "hacked" by DJ Hvad and VJ Cancer, who secretly replaced the money with counterfeit SYGNOK bills. The album instantly sold out with widespread publicity from tier-1 Danish press and TV. In March 2011, [l79184] released three limited-edition "add-ons," all sharing the ESC18 catalog number. The cheapest Fortsat ("Continued") edition at 19.50 DKK ($3) contained a photocopy of Kristian Vester's credit card with a PIN code; it was supposedly connected to a 7000 DKK (~$920) account. The more expensive Taget Til Ekstremerne ("Taken to the Extremes") at 78.23 DKK ($11) came with a 1000 "Romani bill," a made-up currency that's expected to have legal tender once Roma people establish the government. The most obscure Cyber Papegøjen Skudt edition at 750 DKK ($98) had signed blank checks linked to Vester's bank account with 200,000 DKK ($26,000). All three records had a hyperlink to download accompanying [a3910381] "audio responses" printed directly on the LP label. (In September 2011, Gæoudji Sygnok released a double cassette [r=3135603] with a more substantial 180-min "walkthrough"). In subsequent interviews, Vester estimated he gave away close to 752,000 DKK ($99,200) in various "Route 66 Eksperimentet" editions, going severely into debt; supposedly, the artist borrowed money from his Ukrainian friend in organized crime. The 2011 mini-documentary "SYGNOK & The War For Radical Computer Music" also claimed Goodiepal sold the "improved" Eventide H8000 device taken from DIEM to a private collector without the consent of other SYGNOK members to partially fund the release (hence the "Sygnok bill" payback). Gæoudji SYGNOK produced two "art/anti-records" for the Dutch art foundation [l=De Player] and its label [l=Drop Of Blood Records]: a 10" dubplate for "Sound as a Weapon" exhibition in February 2011, followed by [r=4833921] (2013) polystyrene lathe cut. One of the last SYGNOK artifacts dated 2016, a self-released 7" single with covers of Pol Erik's 1970s band Daizy. The inlay referred to Goodiepal's current collective involved in similar actionism, [a6749625]. |
