Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Originally known as Electric Dog Sex they gigged around Central and North London between 1987 and 1989 before changing their name to Delta Angel following much interest in their latest, more dance orientated demo. They signed to Profile following advice from One Little Indian that they were unable to sign them for six months or so due to their involvement with the Shamen - and that band's interest in Profile UK led them to believe that it would be a fruitful partnership. It wasn't. They recorded one album - Silhouette - which turned out to be a fair reflection of their live sound but were not given either the time or budget to really experiment in the studio. They didn't submit any further tracks to Profile. Vocals, Guitar, songwriting, programming and production: Dominic Peel Keyboards: Carol Hayward Bass: Mark Handley |

Search | Add | 6 | Howard Lovett | Howard W Lovett II | Howard W Lovett II (b. About 1950) is an audio engineer and co-owner (with his wife Lindy Lovett) of [l716272], also known as Studio South Productions. The studio was moved previously, and has been located two former locations (with no two locations ever being in operation at the same time): 1980 to 1982: [l=Studio South, Dublin, Georgia] Studio South was originally opened in Dublin, Georgia USA in 1980, until 1982 when Lovett moved his family and studio to Augusta, Georgia USA. 1982 to September, 2000: [l=Studio South, Augusta, Georgia] the studio was located at 2510 Peach Orchard Road in nearby Augusta, Georgia Lovett has been awarded for his work in producing content for local advertising campaigns, but he is probably best known for his work with jazz trombonist [a=Wycliffe Gordon] and [a=James Brown], who usually credited Lovett on his releases as "Mr. Howard Lovett." During one recording session with [a=James Brown], Lovett had setup a quick rough mix to playback the most recent take. When James Brown heard the playback, he liked what he heard, but Lovett protested, as he thought that a pass through a computer was needed to make the rough mix as good as possible. Mr. Brown put his hand on the engineer's shoulder and reassured him that his initial efforts were just right. "Mr. Lovett, the first time God does it. The second time you do it - I want God's version," he said. Background Lovett attended Florida Bible College in Miami in the late 1960's. He was singing with Joyful Noise, one of the earliest bands to play Christian folk rock. The group attracted the notice of the record label [l=Impact (7)] (the same label as the [a=Imperials]) and Joyful Noise signed a contract with [l=Impact (7)]. Joyful Noise's first album became an immediate underground success after the college banned it because of the drums on it. Howard Lovett met his wife to be, Lindy, at school in Miami. After their wedding, the couple moved to Dublin, Georgia USA., where Mr. Lovett worked at Pine Forest United Methodist Church as a youth pastor and youth minister of music and led Bible studies. In the 1970's, Howard Lovett and his family formed Loves Shares, Inc. and went on the road with a musical-comedy act. Their 4-year-old daughter, Lori, opened the show by reciting a psalm. Mrs. Lovett ran sound and some slides while Mr. Lovett appeared onstage with a sidekick, a gun-slinging cowboy puppet named Wichita. They never did any booking themselves. Word of mouth was enough to get them 225 to 250 appearances a year at churches, high schools and, once, a McDonald's at 2 a.m. But when their children indicated they wanted to be more involved in school activities, the couple decided it was time to limit travelling and look for other income. "I thought it would be fun" to build a recording studio, said Mr. Lovett, who had worked with studios in Atlanta and Florida. Small-town Dublin, Georgia wasn't ideal for such a venture, but groups came to their studio from all over the country. In 1982, Lovett released his album [r=4955881], which features a picture of his family on the back cover. Later in 1982, The Lovetts moved from Dublin to Peach Orchard Road in Augusta at the suggestion of one of their clients, an advertising agency. |

Search | Add | 6 | Israel Sardiñas | Wilfredo Israel Sardiñas Domínguez | Birth: Oct. 16, 1949,Alturas de Canasí Death: Jul. 2, 2006,Miami Born in Alturas de Canasí (a town located halfway between Havana and Matanzas) and raised in the Cuban capital, the vocalist/bassist/arranger/composer Wilfredo Israel Sardiñas Domínguez initiated his professional career in 1975, playing bass with a group led by pianist Meme Solas, who must be credited for discovering Israel's diverse vocal qualities, including his powerful timbre, passionate delivery, stylistic versatility, and amazing improvisational skills. Israel Sardiñas joined Los Van Van in 1980. During his three years with Van Van he sang hits such as "Seis Semanas", "Vine a Verte", "Hoy Que Quieres de Mi". In 1983 he left the band during a tour of Mexico and later he moved to Miami. He was replaced in Los Van van by Mayito El Flaco who was then replaced by Mayito Rivera. It is clear that Formell was looking for singers with a similar timer and syle to fill the void left by Israel Sardiñas's departure. It is also interesting to note that César "Pupy" Pedroso hired Pepito Gómez who interpreted "Seis semanas" for Los Que Son Son and has the same type of brilliant timbre as Israel Sardiñas Influenced by Benny Moré, Raúl Planas and other Cuban legends, Israel paid his dues with Los Reyes '73 (a popular Van Van spin-off), Iresón, Neosón and other … Mr. Israel Sardiñas was regarded as one of the best soneros (a singer of the Cuban musical style known as son) of recent decades. "When he came on the scene [in the late '70s], other singers copied him," said influential Latin bandleader Juan Pablo Torres in a 1997 … He changed his name to Israel Kantor in 1984 in New York City, on the suggestion of Puerto Rican musician Johnny Pacheco. The atmosphere of Miami in the 1980's was not receptive to modern Cuban music preferring salsa romantica or "salsa nostalgica" such as covers of Benny More and Arsenio Rodríguez. Israel Sardiñas's attempts to create a new music style were not successful but he did find success singing traditional Cuban music with his voz de sonero. In 2003 Israel Sardiñas became a member of The Tropicana All Star Orchestra, which was nominated for two Latin Grammy Awards and two Grammy Awards for their albums "Recuerda a Benny More" and "Tradicion". a tribute to Benny Moré and other traditional songs. The band was very successful with it's show that included dancers á la tropicana. Israel Sardiñas was one of very few modern singers truly capable of interpreting Benny Moré with an authentic sonero flavor. Israel Sardiñas also performed with Fania and the legend says that it was Hector Lavoe that gave him the nickname "El Cantor" which he then took to be his artist name "Kantor". In his early days in BK, which he called a war zone, he discovered his love for music listening to the genre-swapping radio stations at his grandma's home. He was also introduced to turntables through his older brother's friend, a local DJ with a penchant for the Golden Era classics, and needed a place to store his equipment, where Ment would soon learn to navigate his way around a pair of 1200s. He and his friends used dusty samplers and tape decks to craft beats, first from Ultimate Breaks and Beats compilations and soon after from their own crate-dug collections. A true Hip-Hop head, he tagged every so often and used the letters "M E N T," hence his deejay/producer moniker. He now added Plus to give himself the strength to focus on his work amid the industry BS. |

Search | Add | 6 | The Magic Track | Peter Makkai & András Szerepi | The Magic Track is a co-operation of two infatuated house and disco DJs and Producers from Debrecen, Hungary Gio, formerly known as Giocator was raised on classic house and techno, and also influenced by the sound of the 80's electro and synth-funk sound. In his twenties he produced Drum & Bass, released more than 50 tunes worldwide and also managed a label called: Black Seeds Recordings. After more than a decade of DNB, he returned to the disco scene and now he takes advantage of his previous experiences and learned skills to create something new. Gio is a typical INTJ, constantly pursuing and seeking for patterns. A wine-lover, who admires Russian literature as much as Latin culture and mentality. DRJ, formerly known as Dr. Juzztice - grown up on 80's pop, indie, and UK punk - first played as a DJ 20 years ago in local bars, community radio stations. With his former crew he was the promoter of a chillout venue of a local festival for more than a decade. He loved playing slower genres, like dub, downtempo and later he was very much into broken beat, nu jazz, or headz - among others. Always spiced his mixes with some funk and around 2018 he finally fell in love with disco. He is an amateur cook, runner and a big fan of French comics. It was inevitable that these guys will work together sometimes. They both love the classic funk & soul from the 70s and this is what they mix with brand new and recent house, disco, afro, brazil, indie dance and nu disco tunes. Their producer career was started in 2020 only, with some minor appearances on And Friends Records. Couple months later but still in 2020, they released their first solo EP 'Four Seasons' on Furious Mandrill Records. Their first little successes, came in early 2021, when their second Furious Mandrill EP reached the TOP 10 at Junodownload and it was sitting there for more than two weeks. By that time their music was supported by Fingerman, Pete Herbert, The Funk District, Stephen Richards, Mannix, Paul Older, Igor Gonya and they made a lot of nice friendships which was a great catalyst on their productivity. They appeared again on toplists several times and made some nice releases on Spa In Disco, Tropical Disco Records or Masterworks Music. Their latest digital EP was released on Hot Digits Music in July and also made it into the TOP100 on Junodownload. And what's more: some of their latest tunes were hit the record stores as well, as they released on Daje Funk Records, Legofunk, and on The Very Polish Cut outs. Next magic music is coming soon on Samosa Records, Furious Mandrill Records, Spa In Disco and more... |

Search | Add | 6 | Kin Palo | Kin Palo is “Kin” as in “Family” and “Palo” as in “tree” or “branches.” Their music speaks to the ideas that we are all connected and have more similarities, than differences. We all have the same root desires, needs, and want for connection and are connected even in our differences. Kin Palo makes melodies that explore the waring dualities of human nature, both the dark and light side. Sonically they meddle in the darker side of melodies influenced by Explosions in the Sky, Nine Inch Nails, and Khalid to name a few. Amy Stroup is the lead singer & writer with collaborators from Canada, USA, & beyond. Following on the first album's success of being featured on dozens of television shows including Batwoman, Sense 8, Shannara Chronicles and more, Kin Palo is back with their sophomore work "Glory" featuring the single "Watch This" a collaboration with Night Panda (Dustin Atlas, Julietta) and Amy Stroup. Booming beats, fizzy bass, dark guitars color the albums as heard on "Invincible" and "For The Glory". "For the Glory" was penned by power the team Amy Stroup (Chaka Khan, Andrew Belle, Sugar & The Hi-Lows) and grammy nominated Rob Kleiner (SIA, Labrinth) and Mary Hooper in LA as a response to honoring the life of Kobe Bryant & his daughter. Look for “GLORY” the full length album 10/22/21. Singles “For the Glory” is out October 8th along with “Watch This” October 20th before the album drops October 22nd .

Search | Add | 6 | Midi Slut | Michael Poe | Mike Poe began forming his musical interests at an early age. He was fascinated by the use of electronic instruments in modern music and began listening to progressive rock groups such as Emerson, Lake and Palmer and Rick Wakeman in the 70's. It was his mother who introduced him to the experimental electronic tones of Brian Eno and Kraftwerk. His appreciation for these creative styles carried on through high school and followed him into college. During his time at Ohio University, Mike began to create electronic compositions to accompany modern dance pieces and also began to develop his styles as a DJ. His style concentrated heavily on the dark industrial sounds of Front 242 and Skinny Puppy. He added many styles to his DJ repertoire and began to introduce ambient tones and atmospheres to his DJ sets. The Orb was a major influence, which gradually led him to spin more ambient dub styled tracks. In 1993 he moved from Athens, Ohio to Columbus where he introduced his unique style and catalog of recordings to the Columbus scene. He began working with Rob Engel to create atmospheric dark ambient music that became the Midislut project with Mike spinning under the Midislut name. In 1994, he released “Ambiento”, a mix tape of selected ambient tracks, which created a buzz among the underground scene. Shortly after the release of “Ambiento,” Mike was spinning in chill out rooms at many of the now legendary ele_mental parties. Mike followed his release of “Ambiento” with “Project Blossom” in 1995. Mike provided his own compositions at the ele_mental sponsored “Boron” in August 1996. Mike was also involved in electronic music composition in the Columbus area. Contributions include the 21/22 Corp. compilation "Fusion No.5" and "Trace Ele_ments4 EP", a collaboration with Bone Tribe Productions, and an appearance on Black Music's "Adventures in Modern Recording" CD with an industrial jungle track titled "Cycle_7.1". During July of 1996, Mike began to work at the groundbreaking downtown club, Mekka. He immersed himself in the club tracks he heard from such DJ’s as Mike G, Kevy Kev, and Rob Engel along with many of the guest DJ’s who graced the decks. It wasn’t long before Mike teamed up with Doughboy, and spun “Twilight Sundaze,” where he played Chicago house and techno. Mike made Mekka his home for over four years, and attributes much of his appreciation and love for the music to his stay there. Beginning in 1998, Mike made guest appearances at Red Zone and played at many of the “Clockwork Sundaze” events that have made Doughboy famous. He opened for many of the DJ world superstars, such as Josh Wink, Marco Carolla, Charles Feelgood, and Terry Lee Brown Jr. Mike also held simultaneous residencies at both FM and Clique through the Millennium. In December of 2000, Mike traveled to Germany and played two New Years dates in Jena and Altenburg. Upon returning to the states, Mike teamed up with Kate Hazelbaker to start “Barcelona DJs@11,” which blended the eclectic tastes of a tapas restaurant with deep house and lounge style tracks. Mike currently holds residency at Eleven Restaurant and Lounge, spinning deep and tech house. He is a member of the Quality! crew often sharing the decks with his mates Jason Lyman, Jeff Pongonis, and Steve Keck. |

Search | Add | 6 | The Space-Makers | Big Beat Band (1963-1966) Carsten "Krasser" Weber Vocal, Boris Blinoff (Guitar), Jørn "Grye" Nielsen (Organ), Hans Kelp (Drums) Jørn Bonnesen (Bass) formed in Odense Denmark in 1963 with the following members: Carsten Weber (lead-voc.) Jørn Bonnesen (bass) Hans Kelp (ex- Apron Strings, dm) Jørn Mader (ex-Teen Beats, rhythm-gt) Boris »Binkowski« Blinoff (ex- Les Amis, lead gt) Originally played in the style of Cliff Richard & Shadows, but changed the style when Big Beat -broke through, & was especially inspired by the Indonesian group - The Javalins. During a tour to Hamburg's Star Club in the summer of 1964, Blinoff left the group and joined the German group Avalons. Mader took over lead-gt. & Jørn Grüe Nielsen (ex- Rebels, org) stepped in. In the spring of 1965, Blinoff returned and Mader stepped down. This crew won the Funen Championship in Pop Music 1965 & was placed as No. 3 at the subsequent DM in the Falkoner Center the same year, which led to a record contract and the broadcast of (1). At the end of 1965, Blinoff and Grüe left and were replaced by Niels Erik »Speedy« Sejr-Nielsen (org) (ex-Teen Beats) Poul Andy Andersen (lead-gt)(ex-Teen Beats). Spacemakers disbanded in the summer of 1966. The group played primarily on Funen and in Jutland, i.a. in Centrum Pop in Århus, Tyrolerlandsbyen in Vejle and in Hot House in Odense. Was also widely used warm-up group for foreign groups in Fyens Forum, i.a. The Rolling Stones, Pretty Things and Swinging Blue Jeans. Weber and Andy Andersen continued with Les Amis. For the city of Odense's 1000th anniversary in 1988, Mader, Blinoff and Kelp restore the group for a single day, and are assisted by Torben Wulff (bass). Once again the group is restored in 1992 and 1993 - this time, however, with Thomas Jacobsen on el-b. At the event "Rock with wrinkles 2000" in Odense, the group was resurrected with 4 of the members who formed it in 1963, as well as one of the 1965 members: Mader, Blinoff, Andersen, Bonnesen and Kelp (Bonnesen had not had a bass guitar in his hand in 33 years!). Also played in June and August 2001 respectively in Den Fynske Landsby and in Kongens Have and again at "Rock med Rynker" 2001, 2002, 2003 (Kelp stopped and was replaced by Jesper Olsen (ex-Roust About, Nemo and others)) , 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 (2008 unfortunately without an ill Mader), 2009, 2010, 2011: Bonnesen, Jesper I. Olsen (dm), Andersen, Peter Hansen (voc) Released in 2010 the CD "Back in time" and in 2013 "Don't stop the music..". Had a 50th anniversary concert in 2013 with the crew Bonnesen, Olsen, Blinoff, Hansen, Andersen, Palle B. Christensen (piano), where Mader, Kelp and Rock-Nalle also participated. Dissolved in 2015 due to internal problems regarding repertoire, direction and seriousness. Poul Andy and Boris Blinoff form the group X-All Stars with Jesper Olsen (including ex-Blues Syndicate, Roust About and Spacemakers) and Erling Andersen (including ex-Rockfighters, Candy Boys and Jackson's Garden). Spacemakers continues with Bonnesen, Mader, Hansen and Nikolaj Fage Lorentzen (dm) and Palle Christensen (piano).

Search | Add | 6 | Jiang Wen-Ye | 江文也 (pinyin: Jiāng Wényě) | Jiang Wen-Ye (1910–1983) was a Taiwanese composer, active mainly in Japan and later in China. Three hieroglyphs of his name are pronounced Kō Bunya (こう ぶんや) or Bunya Koh in Japanese. In his original compositions, Wen-Ye had been merging traditional Chinese, Taiwanese, and Japanese music with modernist and contemporary elements. Jiang was born in 1910 to Chinese parents in Tamsui, Taiwan, a Japanese territory at the time, so he became a citizen of Japan by birth. Wen-Ye attended evening classes at the Tokyo Music School and became a singer. In 1932, Jiang Wen-Ye started working as a baritone for Columbia Records and joined [a=Yoshie Fujiwara]'s Opera Company. Wen-Ye became a pupil of prominent composers [a=Kosaku Yamada] and [a=Kunihiko Hashimoto] in 1933. His orchestral work Formosan Dance was honorary mentioned at the Berlin art competition in 1936. [a=Alexander Tcherepnin] promoted Jiang's talent and published his works in Europe, USA, and China. Kō Bunya soon became one of the most frequently played composers in Japan. During the Second Sino-Japanese War in 1938, Jiang started working as a professor of musical arts at the Teacher's College in Beijing, which was then under Japanese control. In the following years, he had been commuting between Beijing and Tokyo, where his family resided. Under the Japanese surrender in 1945, Wen-Ye lost his citizenship and became practically banned in Japan. In the communist People's Republic of China, Jiang was considered bourgeois and ideologically hostile due to his cultural bonds to Japan and aesthetic affinity with European modernism. He was forced to comply with a government party taste and nonetheless became a political target during the Cultural Revolution in 1966. His honest name was restored in China only in 1978. Following his exoneration, today Jiang Wen-Ye has been rediscovered by new audiences in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and Japan. |

Search | Add | 6 | Robert H. McAnally | Australian band conductor and composer (1882-1959). Robert H. McAnally was undoubtedly the most prolific Australian composer/arranger of music for bands, particularly brass bands. His early musical career began with the Salvation Army, and he later became conductor of the New South Wales Tramways Band. He was one of the founders of the now defunct New South Wales Bandmasters’ Association based in Sydney. He wrote many difficult marches, including Implacable, Indomitable, The Spitfire, arranged Waltzing Matilda as a march and composed a programmatic march for the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932 entitled Triumph of Industry. On a visit to London he was honoured to see the Massed Guards Band march down The Mall playing his march The Spitfire, which was inspired by the Spitfire pilots of the Second World War. When the ABC established its National Military Band in 1934 it was McAnally who auditioned the players from all over Australia and brought the band together for the arrival of Colonel H.E. Adkins – director of the famous Kneller Hall Military School of Music in England. McAnally spent most of his life in Sydney and died in Albury.
