Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 9 | Dave Bichard | Rachel James | Producer, writer, multi-instrumentalist & DJ from Manchester, England. Diagnosed as transgender in 2007 and now better known as Rachel James. BIOGRAPHY – UPDATED JULY 2012 Rachel Ellektra AKA Rachel James. Musician, song-writer, producer, remixer, sound engineer, DJ and much more besides. She’s written music for and with artists like Angie Brown, Joy Malcolm and Steve Strange, produced for labels like Sony Music and Neo Records and has been recommended by the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Redanka and Eddie Gordon. Multi-instrumentalist and multi-genre producer, she is almost impossible to ‘pigeon-hole’. So who is she and how did it all begin?… Rachel started out as a musician at just 5 years old playing keyboard, violin and guitar and was already in her first rock band at 13. When the dance music bug bit her at the tender age of 15, she began DJ’ing and progressed quickly music production. With borrowed and blagged equipment, Rachel soon had the basis of a small studio set up at home and was putting demos together and sending them out to labels eventually attracting the attention of Grant Nelson. She headed to London and co-wrote a couple of tracks for Nice ‘n’ Ripe alongside Grant. Rachel went on to produce for several labels and in the late 90’s she hooked up with Eddie Gordon of Neo Records who started putting remix work her way. These mixes gained her the attention of the A-list DJ’s and several BBC Radio 1 plays for her music. In 2001 Rachel’s cunning mash-up of David Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’ with DSK’s ‘What Would We Do’ got tongues wagging and dance floors moving. Aczess’ cheekily titled ‘Do What We Would picked up the attention of many a big name DJ playing it in Ibiza that summer and went on to get signed to Sony’s dance off-shoot INCredible. The track went on to be a massive club smash topping many well-known dance charts. In more recent years Rachel's label Axis Trax was born. It was initially a label to push out Rachel’s own musical doodles but it fast developed into a magnet for fabulous, undiscovered as well as well-established dance artists. The label though started on a zero budget soon attracted a large fan base celebrated it’s 1st birthday with a big bash at Ministry of Sound, London. Month on month Axis Trax grew and so did Rachel’s reputation as a producer/remixer. Over the past 3 years she has remixed for a host of artists including Jessie J, Black Eyed Peas, Marvin Gaye, Flash Brothers, X-Press 2, Redanka, Angelic, Amanda Wilson, Peyton, Graeme Park, Nightstylers, Mazie Williams, Joyce Sims, N-Joi, Pete Doyle, Freddy Bastone, Pepper Mashay, Rita Campbell, 7th Heaven, Banderas and Awesome 3 to name a few. Rachel is currently working on new projects with Blue Amazon and also co-writing and producing her debut album under her guise of Avro. RECENT INDUSTRY COMMENTS ON RACHEL... “Rachel, you are DA BOMB!” (Sterling Void) “You can clearly turn your hand to anything and produce quality.” (Lee Softly aka Blue Amazon) “You are truly multi-talented! Where have you been all my life?” (Andy Holt aka Redanka/Tarantella/DATAR) "I've a lot of time for Rachel and admire her hugely!" (Andy Wetson - Almighty/7th Heaven) "What can we say about Rachel’s mixes except A+!" (K-Klass) "I love your work!" (Kenny Thomas) "Rachel, are you related to King Midas? Search | Add | 9 | Draumr | Gabriel Cheurfa | Meaning 'dream' in ancient Norse, Draumr stands out as the solo project of the french musician, producer and director Gabriel Cheurfa. Through spell-binding visuals reminiscent of the surrealism of David Lynch, Michel Gondry, Salvador Dalí or Jean-Pierre Jeunet, and a very distinct sound blending dream pop, downtempo, glo-fi and chillwave, the multifaceted artist draws on memories, real or distorted, to build a bridge over emptiness - a junction of dreams and trailing echoes of the past. After the array of pastels and colors of his first two unclassifiable EPs Nefelibata (2015), and Ethereal Mildness (2018) (mixed by the legendary French Touch producer Stéphane 'Alf' Briat), Draumr releases his debut album Drawn-Out Daydream (2020), taking us on an unusual yet intimate and authentic journey. It invites us in its composite universe, grounding us in the present, creating a delicate and dreamlike state. Through its soft synthetic layers on Sage Green Eyes, its ethereal choirs and its warm rhythms on the epic and soothing Solace In Loneliness or the uplifting sophisti-pop duos with the rising french pop singer Dorcas on the songs Sunlight Tryst and Another Heart, the artist rouses our spirits, suspends time, and frees us for a moment, from the weight of modernity. The newly released, hypnotic and catchy nu-disco/avant-pop tune In a Daze (2023) brings out new colors to the project, setting up a solar odyssey somewhere lost in time and space. |

Search | Add | 9 | Simões Da Hora | Joaquim Simões da Hora | Portuguese organist, producer and recording supervisor for classical releases. Joaquim Simões da Hora (1941-1996) stood out in the last quarter of the 20th century as the greatest Portuguese performer of Iberian Early Music for organ. In this respect his qualities as a performer came to be known in various European countries and even in the United States of America. Working within the ‘new’ Early Music current that arose in the second half of the 20th century, he was one of a generation of performers whose interpretations were founded on the use of historical techniques andinstruments, such as Jordi Savall, Ton Koopman and José Luís Uriol. His performances were recorded in four albums, which demonstrate his considerable capacities as a performer. Joaquim Simões da Hora’s professional activity also extended to the domain of pedagogy, in which he reformed the organ class of the Conservatório Nacional, where he taught between 1977 and 1995. In addition to his activities as performer and teacher, throughout his career he was deeply involved in publicising the heritage of Portuguese music, especially in relation to the organ, as well as in producing and providing musical supervision of many of the sound recordings of classical music published in Portugal in the last three decades of the 20th century. Joaquim Simões da Hora left this world in April 1996. He remains, however, as one of the great organists of recent history. His legacy is felt in the impetus he gave to awakening the interest of young performers of Early Music for organ, in his sound recordings and in his promotion of musical life in Portugal in relation to the organ from the mid 90s onwards, through the systematic creation of music festivals for organ. in HORA, Tiago Manuel da (2010). "Joaquim Simões da Hora: Intérprete, Pedagog e Divulgador", Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL-FCSH), Master Degree Thesis. |

Search | Add | 9 | Beth De Jong | A musician, artist, promoter, and budding producer from Hamilton, Ontario. Beth started playing guitar and singing as a teenager. Started playing in bands in 2014. After her first band [a=Sensei] was fizzling out in 2015 (disbanded in 2016), she picked up the bass for [a=The Pucumber Sasssquash Family Band] while their bass player Annie was away. After Annie returned, she then joined a local choir called [a=Earth, Wind & Choir]. After seeing the local band [a=Pool People], she joined a no-wave band in 2017 with most of its members called [a=Poorage]. After the drummer left in 2018, they changed their name to [a=Human Nun] with Randy Gagne aka [a=Man Made Hill] on percussion and vocals. Later that year, Beth and [a=Graham Bucci] started the darkwave band [a=Concavity]. When [a=Human Nun] couldn't play a couple of gigs, Banananananana was spawned - a 2 piece synth-punk band consisting of Beth and bandmate [a=Drew Taylor (3)]. When the pandemic hit, Human Nun was put on hold. A new project called FO-X.O. with Drew and Dan Hill on bass was formed in 2021 and will be releasing their material later in the year. During her time playing in bands, she also performed noise music with additional instruments such as autoharp, record player scratching, and other sound makers. Noise bands included [a=Impure Haha], Barbaric Slaptonne, [a=Hamilton Noise Orchestra], Gazorpazorp, Blarthtarp, Caccus, and other people in the scene. Beth has recently started using the name Babette laFlail, and still resides and performs in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Search | Add | 9 | Denny Bellens | Denny Bellens | Denny Bellens aka Black Buddha or dBell, was born in the summer of 1980 in Bangkok, Thailand. He arrived in Belgium when he was 12 and continues to reside here, the place he is proud to call home. Music has been his passion since he was a child, he was attracted by two styles of music, The first one being, punk and the other, simply House. Already the young Buddha was talking enthusiastically about the desire to combine these two giants of music into one glorious mix. Just as an experiment, or maybe, just out of pure curiosity, it was to prove a turning point for the young Denny. However, To become member of the popular school groups, you had to have listened to one style of music only? This of course wasn't the written law, but the way he saw it he didn't have a choice. Denny would befriend all the musicians he could, in order to find the inspiration he so desperately needed, he would need to play by these rules. Pressure from his peers and the inability to make this choice meant that Denny was totally alone in this almost unheard of musical change, but he knew that it could change, and he would one day be the one to change the face of what we know as popular music and also to create diversity into what had become a segregated music policy. For him it was ok to be attracted by so many different styles of music and create some kind of crossover. This was the message he needed to share. However this would not prove to be easy and Denny would spend the next few years alone trying these new and radical ideas out in the privacy of his own small studio. It was after this, that he would become fascinated with Dance, soul, and mainstream pop, he started to hear the sound that he was searching for. When he was 15, he joined his brother and other friends as they went out to clubs. This atmosphere drew him even deeper toward House and Dance songs. From that moment, he decided to become DJ. A few years later, when he was 23, he bought a turntable from a friend. This was his real first step toward finally bringing his unique style of music to the masses. After a while, he got the break he needed an opportunity to become a DJ in Club Dodge. Denny enjoyed his small following of kids, who believed in what he was trying to do. His collection of vinyl's expanded very fast. At this time another club in the area 'Club Boccaccio' had organized a DJ Contest, Denny would not did only participate, but won this DJ Contest, practically sweeping all the dull and mundane competition away!! After winning this special event, he was contacted by Club Illusion and he became Resident DJ at Club DeLite. In 2008 he participated the Bonzai Reworx Contest. He didn't win this one, but his remix was officially released on Bonzai Reworx. One year later, his first EP was released on Decibel NYC. Denny was starting to realize his dream, and his following were growing even stronger, this was the start of his revolution! When Club DeLite finally closed there doors, due to whatever reason, he had more time to work on his own productions. Releasing his music this way was much harder, but he still continued. Not long ago, he contacted more active people in the industry and some interesting projects are in progress. His only goal is to release music he loves and spread his music, his style. |

Search | Add | 9 | Carl Ravazza | American violinist, vocalist and bandleader. Also known professionally as Carl Ravell. Born July 21, 1910 Alameda, California. Died July 28, 1968. Ravazza began as a violinist who started singing when he was in the Anson Weeks Orchestra. He became the lead violinist as well as playing clarinet, saxophone, and singing in Tom Coakley And His Palace Hotel Orchestra. The band charted three times in U.S., including the #1 song "East of the Sun (And West of the Moon)" in 1935. "Good Morning Glory" hit #12 in 1933 and "I'll String Along with You" hit #17 in 1934. Ravazza sang lead on all three. At just 25, he took over the band upon Coakley's retirement from the music business. Their theme song was ‘Vieni Su’, which Ravazza sang. He later became a solo singer, settling in Reno, Nevada, where he co-founded the Nevada Entertainment Agency in 1960.

Search | Add | 9 | Antony J. Richards | Director of Music of [a=The Band Of The Life Guards] from 1970 to 1984. He joined the Regimental Band of the 13th/18th Royal Hussars (QMO) as a Band boy in Wolfenbuttel, Germany in 1946, and was described as an extremely popular young man and a superb musician. He was posted to the Royal Military School of Music at Kneller Hall in 1952 to attend a Bandmaster’s Course, and became Bandmaster of the Lancashire Fusiliers (1956 to 1964). He was then commissioned as Director of Music of the Alamein Staff Band of the Royal Tank Regiment, and remained in that post until 1970 when he became Director of Music of The Life Guards. Soon after arriving he was promoted to Major (DOM) and then became the Senior Director of Music, Household Cavalry. While with The Life Guards, he formed a record company called Fionmace, which was extremely successful until he sold the business in the late 1990s. He retired from the Army in 1984 and went to the Middle East as DOM of the Royal Oman Police Band where he was promoted to Colonel. Whilst in Oman he made his mark by designing and building an enormous School of Music for the use of over 200 bandsmen. He also significantly raised the standard of musicianship in the Omani Police Band which, when he first arrived, was very basic. Upon his retirement in 1995, he returned to England and spent his spare time teaching the piano and singing in his local church choir. He died on 16 February 2002, aged 71.

Search | Add | 9 | Phil Colbert | According to a show biz article in Jet magazine May 06th,1965 page 63, Phil Colbert was referred to as a French Canadian black. He was signed to [l39357] by [a916151] ([a10584]'s husband). He was, very briefly, a member of [a699393] in 1958 but didn't last long enough to record with them. According to Marv Goldberg's essay on the group he was fired after they did some dates at the Golden Hotel in Las Vegas around spring 1958. It looks as if he abandoned his singing career to work in promotion - he was appointed the R&B promotion manager for [l59627] in June 1967 but didn't last long there as he was working for [l46437] by early 1968. He was one of the promotion men for [l34533] in 1970 then moved back to New York in 1971 to work at the short-lived New York Sound label. In January '72 he was working for [a202256]'s [l19965] label as their promotion man for the East Coast and later, in 1976, was made R&B promotion manager for the [l1060] presumably working on the [a136273] and [a693150]. It is doubted that lasted very long as the US London label was on its last legs by that time. The trail goes cold after 1976. It's guessed he long since retired from the music business.

The Laxey Wheel song written by Stuart Slack, became an immediate favourite with the Islands residents and visitors, and was the most requested song ever on the local radio station, Manx Radio, and at all the live events where the group played around many of the Islands pubs and clubs .

Search | Add | 9 | The Sherwoods Of Cornell | The Sherwoods (1956–1973) The Cornell University Glee Club is the oldest student organization at Cornell University, having been organized shortly after the first students arrived on campus in 1868. Over the years, The Glee Club has spawned several spinoff a capella subsets. The club currently has only one official a cappella subset, The Hangovers, but two other spinoff groups, Cayuga's Waiters and The Sherwoods. The Sherwoods were formed in 1958 by renegade choristers who left the Glee Club to form their spin off group. First appearing at the Glee Club's 1956 fall concert, The Sherwoods of Cornell gained prominence quickly among collegiate musical groups. They embarked on their first international tour in the summer of 1957 with an itinerary including Hawaii and the Far East. By 1958, they were a successful act ,in there own right, and were in great demand both on and off campus. This enormous success came at a price, however, and led to conflicts with the Glee Club, which had remained The Sherwoods' parent organization during these formative years. In the fall of 1958, the two organizations split officially. The Sherwoods toured extensively, traveling to Hawaii, the Far East, Bermuda, the Virgin Islands, and Jamaica and on two extensive tours for the USO, entertaining troops in the Philippines, and throughout Germany . They commonly wore dark (Sherwood) green jackets and ties for performances. Rather than sing stock arrangements, The Sherwoods wrote their own. They were known for rich 6-8 part harmony music unique among other a cappella groups of their time. The popularity of a cappella singing faded for a period in the early 1970s and The Sherwoods stopped auditioning new members in 1973. It also marked the final year in which the Sherwoods were featured in The Cornellian, Cornell University's annual year book. In 1985 The Class of '65 invited the 'Younger' Sherwoods back to Cornell to entertain them at their 20th reunion. It was the first time in twenty years The Youngers had met to re-learn their songs and practice their entertaining introductions. The 'Younger' Sherwoods have been returning to Cornell's Ithaca campus to perform at reunions every year since 1985, celebrating their 26th annual shows in 2010, once again entertaining the Class of '65, this time at the class's 45th reunion. The 'Founders' Sherwoods gather at various times during the year, continuing to practice and perform the repertoire they sang during their era at Cornell. Between the two Sherwoods groups there are about 45 active Sherwood singers performing today. Noted hit singer/songwriter [a320273] sang with the Sherwoods for several years, writing two songs performed by the group, 'Let me Down Easy' and 'Winter Song'. As an undergraduate, Chapin was preoccupied with his own songwriting, and he eventually dropped out of Cornell University to focus on his early career as a successful singer-songwriter. In 1971 Fred Kewley, Sherwood musical director, became Chapin's Manager through the best years of his career, landing the recording contract with Elektra through his hits Taxi, WOLD, and Cats In The Cradle, etc., and the hundreds of concerts around the USA and Europe.
