Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 Kulturní Úderka Kulturní Úderka was founded in the 1990s. After Eda Ondráček left, Štěpán Dokoupil took up the singing and in 2003 released their debut album Rock’s Groove (Indies). At this time, the band established itself as a band that transitioned into the blues genre. The following years brought a lackluster period when the band was looking for energy and basically went through a creative crisis. The new era began in 2018 with the arrival of the Bosnian pianist Omer Blentić (Sarajevo Philharmonic). And since the bass player Mojmir Sabolovich stayed in Sarajevo for a long time, there was a comeback called Sarajevská Katarzija (Indies Happy Trails Records 2018). It kickstarted the band again, and the creative energy gave rise to the album Black Metall. Kulturní Úderka is again based in Brno, although it still goes to record in its favorite studio in Sarajevo. Currently, after the arrival of the drummer Lubomir Eremiáš and second guitarist Vladimír Sabolovič, the band has expanded the line-up and consolidated its classic groove.

Search Add 3 Oldfield Opry Band The Oldfield Opry began on a cold January night in 1977. It was held in a vacant store building owned by John W. Walker located at the junction of Highways 125 and T in Oldfield, Missouri. The band was made up of four local musicians -- Hank Thompson, Bill Gardner, Steve Beyers and Johnny Walker. After a few months, the crowd had outgrown the venue and fundraising efforts began to build a new building. In December of 1990, the new site -- complete with central heating and air, and seating for up to 200 people -- was ready. The Oldfield Opry Band performs every Saturday night from 7-9 pm.

Search Add 3 Liam Gowing The “fifth of four” kids born in Dallas, Texas to an ex-Army paratrooper father who blew out his eardrums during the Korean War and an opera singer mother with an excruciatingly accurate sense of pitch, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Liam Gowing definitely took after the latter parent when it came to making music. After teaching himself to play piano and guitar by ear at the age of 10, the precocious youngster started a cover band in the seventh grade with childhood friend Bob Musso, recorded a group album of original songs at the age of 17, and composed a rock opera before graduating high school. Passing up an opportunity to attend Stanford University on scholarship, Gowing enrolled at UCLA partly to be closer to the record labels and recording studios of Los Angeles, where he would gig occasionally with college bandmates, Matt Kropp and Chris Varosy. Upon graduating magna cum laude, he next weighed an invitation to attend the Top-5 University of Chicago Law School but instead decided to backpack around the world with his trusty $100 Epiphone acoustic. Inspired to write a slew of new songs after meeting the Dalai Lama and seeing Mount Everest on the trip, Gowing returned to LA determined to land a record deal. To that end, he began recording a 4-song demo ironically entitled “The Best Thing that Never Happened to Me.” The weekend he finished the project, however, he received the news that his mother had just been diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer. Thoroughly dejected, Gowing found shopping the demo during her 6-month illness to be a fool’s errand. And after another year or so of half-hearted solo acoustic shows followed by a stint as lead guitarist in a friend‘s “progadelic” jam band, he virtually hung up his guitar and concentrated instead on a burgeoning career in journalism. Writing variously for the LA Weekly, Filter, Paste, the N.M.E. and SPIN Magazine, which nominated his lengthy expose on the death of Elliott Smith for a 2005 ASME “Ellie” Award in Best Profile Writing, Gowing eventually became a city editor for the A.V. Club and thereafter a staff writer at the Los Angeles Times where he penned the notable recreation-and-adventure column, “Action Man,” and finally co-wrote and shopped a feature film script about one of the installments. In 2011, however, a chance encounter with fellow Bruin Jerry “Mr.” Pao, a turntablist in the hip-hop group 1000 Clowns, provided Gowing with an impetus to make music again. Pao, who needed “a place to crash” for a few months, offered to engineer a series of recording sessions in lieu of paying rent. Smitten, Gowing took the bait and after borrowing a bass and purloining a drum kit to complete his ramshackle “Purdizzy” home studio, became his own one-man-band. With Pao patiently overseeing the proceedings, Gowing painstakingly overdubbed guitar, bass, drums, piano, harmonica, tambourine, recorder and castanets, plus—through the magic of a MIDI keyboard—synth, organ, Rhodes, glockenspiel, steelpan, woodwinds, strings and horns to create the backing tracks to 10 new songs. After adding both lead and three- and four-part harmony vocals, Gowing collected the results in 2013 and issued them in the form of his debut solo album, Drunk Sluts Forever, mixed by yet another UCLA alumnus, guitarist Bill O’Neil. With O’Neil’s help, Gowing put together a backing band committed to playing a handful of live shows in advance of the album release party, which was a pleasant success. And yet, although the album garnered some positive reviews, culminating in KCSN program director Marc “Mookie” Kaczor declaring it to be “an instant indie rock classic,” Gowing’s efforts were hardly remunerative. With various DJs citing the “offensive” name of the album—undoubtedly unaware that the title track was a tongue-in-cheek tribute to a female friend who designed a line of T-shirts by the same name—Gowing’s efforts to expand the reach of the music via radio promotion fell flat. And unable to bankroll a longer-term supporting band on tour, he returned to freelance writing and began teaching the LSAT. Inspired by another female friend, Kim Huynh—a practicing Buddhist who, after declaring 2017 to be the year of her [metaphysical] death, decided to accomplish everything on her bucket list then and there—Gowing subsequently decided he needed to record the songs he’d written in the late 90s and early aughts in the aftermath of his mother’s death and the tragic suicide of his roommate, Josh McGinn. Doubling down on the concept, he decided to make it a double album with a second collection of more recent and “less haunted” material—all the best songs he hadn’t yet recorded. And thus, Mother Lode was born. Envisioning a number of epic productions with yet more strings, horns and “little symphonic movements” in some of the tracks, Gowing recognized that he needed to maroon himself somewhere remote, while taking a solemn vow not to return home until the project was complete. Impressed by his friend Liam Litchfield’s adventures teaching English in Beijing, he decided to move to Shanghai, China in the fall of 2017 to teach English Lit at “the MIT of the East,” Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Devoting his summer and winter breaks to arranging and recording over the following five years, Gowing completed 27 tracks in all. And returning to the USA in the summer of 2022, he asked a close friend who was uniquely qualified–Jon Griffin of LunaZen Studios–to mix 24 of the songs for inclusion on the release. Out on Gowing’s own imprint MojoSon, Mother Lode will be released through CDBaby — with digital distribution to iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify, Napster and more — on November 15, 2022.

Search Add 3 Jan Des Bouvrie Jan des Bouvrie (born August 3, 1942 in Naarden) is a famous Dutch architect, interior & product designer. His own vision on design was developed at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, where he started his professional career. With his unique and progressive ideas the young Des Bouvrie has made a huge impact on the design world. His vision was further developed by working with several manufacturers, including Linteloo, Dutch Originals and Gelderland. The latter, in 1969, was the first to produce a design of Des Bouvrie's; the kubusbank sofa, which is now recognised as a design classic. The Shell collection has been specifically created for FueraDentro by Jan des Bouvrie, and is the first time that he has designed a collection of outdoor furniture (up until this time, he had designed lighting, wallpaper, window decorations and furniture). In 1993 Des Bouvrie moved his design studio to Bussum Naarden-Vesting. Together with his partner, Monique, he transformed the iconic 'Het Arsenaal' building into a leading interior design institute of unprecedented influence in the field of interior architecture and product development. Des Bouvrie not only creates furniture with attractive looks; his design ethos ensures that they are very comfortable too. Over the years, Jan des Bouvrie's designs have won many awards and distinctions, including the Culture Prize of 1974, the Style Prize in 1990 and the Furniture Prize in 1999. Des Bouvrie's vision is also clearly reflected in the numerous interior design books he has published. Jan des Bouvrie is also active as a distinguished lecturer at various design academies, as well as having design college being named after him (Jan des Bouvrie Academy, based in Deventer).

Search Add 3 Frank Lini Frank Starks Frank Starks (born JULY,07 1982 in Fort Myers, Florida) is a southern style rap artist. He is best known as a ghetto poet who delivers his lyrics from deep with-in his soul. Frank began developing his sharp tongue and penetrating voice at the age 14 years old when he fell into rap. His first mixtape struck a cord in his local fans, which in return gave him the title “Lee County Lini” and “The City”. Frank Lini first mixtape was nominated for underground album of the year. Frank has been featured in multiple magazine publications for his musical talents such as Hood, Ozone, Voice, and 239 Hip-Hop. Frank Lini makes music that has real feel to it, that taps into the emotions of his listeners. Born Frank Starks in Ft. Myers, Fla., Frank has been fighting to survive the wretched city streets of “Lil Pakistan” for the vast majority of his life. Hustling since he was a youngster, he was constantly in and out of trouble and spent his adolescent years revolving through juvenile corrections facilities. His life began to change, however, when he began making homemade rap tapes with friend. He adopted his stage name “Lini” to pay homage to his native Lee County. “When I first started rapping, it was a way for me to channel all of my frustrations into music,” Lini remembers. “It was so easy because I just let that voice inside of me speak.” While recording his debut album I’m All In in the summer of 2006, he was arrested and began a three-year legal battle which resulted in jail time and probation. Although that run-in with the law was a major setback, which killed the conversations between him a Major record labels. it also provided him with an opportunity to reach even deeper into the streets and even further solidify a strong fan base in Florida. The "ALL IN" album was released in December 2007 on independent label Tohilh Music Group and quickly became the streets’ Bible. Frank’s gritty delivery and pain-filled lyrics on runaway singles “I Ain’t Friendly” and “I’m All In” prompted the streets to rally around him as unofficial mayor of Ft. Myers. By the time of the follow-up album Green Light dropped, Frank gained the attention of industry heavyweights like Rick Ross, Mayback Music Group and Akon, Konvict Music. He had been nominated by Hood magazine as the 2007 Underground Album of the Year and secured a feature appearance on Triple Cs 2009 album Custom Cars & Cycles on single “Throw Em In the Sky,” which was also featured on AllHipHop.com. He was also selected to be featured in Ozone magazine’s Patiently Waiting section and received a Duval Diamond Award for his relentless grind. Now, Frank Lini is back like he never left. He has been steadily gaining new fans and keeping the streets duly satisfied with his latest single “Pressure”. “My ultimate goal is to take over this rap game,” says Lini. “I won’t follow the beaten path. I’m a trailblazer so instead of following anybody, I choose to hold out and wait for the world to catch up to what I’m doing down here in Florida. Better opportunities are on the horizon.”

Founded by the brothers Luiz and Oscar Sacoman. In the year of 1997 the band released the CD "Greatest Little Hits" produced by Paulo Zinner (Coup d'Etat, ex-Rita Lee). During the recordings came some special appearances as the singer Sylvinha Araújo, Andria and Ivan Busic (Dr Sin) in the backing vocals and the super special participation of Ian Gillan, lead singer of Deep Purple, in an incredible harmonica solo in the introduction of the blues " Before Only ". One of the characteristics of the band is the lyrics of the songs, all in Portuguese. The first vocalist of the band was the great Nando Fernandes, who was known for his performances in the Raul Gil show, where he competed in a kind of freshman show. And also for being part of the band Hangar, where he recorded an album (The Reason Of Your Conviction), by the way, the best of the band, but ended up leaving for personal reasons.

Search Add 3 Jean-Paul Lafitte Jean-Paul Lafitte is a French composer, writer and singer, living between USA, Haiti and France. He first collaborated with Philippe Bréjean, Marc Fabien Bonnard, Patrick Lemaitre, Didier Barbelivien, Gerard Stern, Christian Géant and two top majors, Polydor and Barclay. During the nineties, Jean Paul met with few artists among the best of the so called "New Generation" and co-signed several songs released with John Doane from the band “Skandal” and Patrick Handal (Gitano), Fabrice Rouzier (Et Si Enfin, L'Exilé) and Lionel Volel (Le Mango Blues). He also was retained by the filmmaker Sacha Parisot to work on the movie score of "La Rebelle" with the title "La rebelle, c'est moi" interpreted by the talented Muriel Scott. Early 2000, Jean Paul wrote a piece of twelve songs for a Fund Raising Campain against Cancer. The Album "L'Hymne A La Vie" was a great success. In 2016 Reginald Policard offers to collaborate for a song interpreted by Ralph Thamar "Ebène est ta couleur", released in 2017 on Reginald Policard Album of the year "Mirage". “Ebène est ta couleur” contributed to the success of that album. Beginning 2020 Jean-Paul Lafitte signed with Paradise Label to collaborate with several artists. The first Christopher Nao / Jean-Paul Lafitte collaboration started with an original motion picture soundtrack "The Last Squaw".

Search Add 3 Deasel Weasel Deasel Weasel Deasel Weasel was founded 2009 in Graz and fills the Austrian stages with their unconventional version of Pop-Rock ever since. The 4 musicians - Alex Vader, Chris Jalen, Markus, and Tom S - already gathered some experience in various musical projects, which now influences their music and work at Deasel Weasel. According to the motto "music with no restrictions!", every sound and style that comes along gets quoted, mixed, and internalized, which makes their work hard to categorize. For years they called their musical style "progressive grind-pop", a term created by a fan and friend, which ought to indicate the variety in the bands repertoire. By now they decided to let that term go and to refer to their music as what it is: easy going pop music with experimental rock-tunes. The name "Deasel Weasel" derives from the weasels associated characteristics - being cute and devious at the same time. A second glance into the cheeky, sarcastic lyrics often "treacherously" shows the songs true meaning, whereas just one listening to the music already lets you feel the energy (hence Diesel). In their everyday band life they do it like the weasel and adapt themselves to different circumstances and improvise. In this sense the band played gigs on 5 qm big stages, spontaneously plugged/unplugged, only for 10 min as well as at 5 o'clock in the morning due to sudden delays and changes. Either way, Deasel Weasel remain faithful to their motto: music with no restrictions!
