Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026
Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 2 | Sharp. | SHARP. | The Puerto Rican/Dominican beatsmith discovered Hip-Hop early on as the airwaves served as hubs for legends like DJ Red Alert, Chuck Chillout, Pete Rock and Marley Marl, and the late Mr. Magic. The avid baseball fan found that roaming Fordham Road gave him unlimited access to the music that informed his youth. The late 1980s opened new levels of participation in Hip-Hop for a young SHARP, first as a dancer and DJ for his fledgling Hip-Hop group. As the 1990s rolled in, SHARP opened the next chamber of his artistry by creating pause tapes for the group while learning the finer points of crate-digging, sampling, and music production. Under the tutelage of former MTV VJ K.K. Holiday in the mid-1990s, SHARP’s grassroots foundation was upgraded significantly, and a move to Atlanta proved fruitful as he worked within a production team that shaped the early sounds of Ludacris prior to his major label deal with Def Jam. After the turn of the century, SHARP continued to perfect his sound via the MPC3000 and later studying at Florida’s Full Sail University, earning a degree in music production. While in the Orlando area, SHARP crossed paths with one of the region’s sharpest lyricists in MidaZ the Beast, forming the “steel sharpens steel” partnership that exists today. SHARP’s debut instrumental album, THE THUMP COLLECTION, arrived in 2010 and the following year a DJ residency in Central Florida opened the pathway for the producer to dive into music full-time. In 2012, SHARP and MidaZ released the LOOPS album, an acclaimed collection of razor-sharp verses and well-honed production that garnered the attention of tastemakers and listeners, including The Alchemist. SHARP credits !llmind for expanding his technique beyond sampling, taking the celebrated producer’s suggestion to study music theory and work outside his traditional confines. Prior to this meeting, SHARP relied on samples to create his sound and the creative shift added layers to his formidable strengths. SHARP’s ever-curious approach to music and production inspired him to create original sounds and rely less on the dusty crates of his youth. This gave way to working with an agency that placed his productions across various networks such as Viceland, HBO, ESPN, and Nike. Even with his professional advancements, SHARP remained true to his core as a sound provider for artists that embodied the drive and hunger he too shared. Most notably in 2016, Long Island’s Hus Kingpin enlisted SHARP to remix a track from the Wave Lord’s HOKTRE project. In addition to MidaZ the Beast, several artists that have since commissioned dubplates. Queens veteran Tragedy Khadafi, Mount Vernon legend CL Smooth, Washington, D.C.’s yU, Michigan wordsmith Willie The Kid, prolific Atlanta bar warlord Tha God Fahim, and Hus Kingpin’s compatriots in Smoovth and ROZEWOOD are among a number of satisfied sonic partners. The sound of SHARP defies definition as the nuances present in his work are numerous. At times mood-shifting and melodic, SHARP isn’t simply a producer who shapes sounds. He is a prime example of how “the Bronx keeps creating it” at a high level. by D.L. Chandler |

| Search | Add | 2 | Peter M. F. Sichel | Peter Max F. Sichel | German American wine merchant and secret service operative born September 12, 1922 in Mainz, Germany, who founded the Blue Nun wine brand. Born into a wine producing family, H. Sichel Sohne, in the 1930s Sichel emigrated with his parents to the USA to escape Nazi persecution. He worked as a US Foreign Service Officer, running agents in Germany and was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal. He was promoted to head of the CIA in Berlin. He continued to work for the Central Intelligence Agency in Berlin, Washington and Hong Kong until 1960. He then took over the family wine export business and tapped into the growing popularity of wine as a drink in the US with his Blue Nun Liebfraumilch brand, which he marketed as a wine you can drink "right through the meal", using widespread advertising. At its peak in the 1980s, Blue Nun sold 1.25 million cases annually. Sichel produced and appeared on a promotional tie-in record around 1964 called On Wine: How To Select & Serve: Vol. One. This was sampled on Check Your Head by The Beastie Boys. His autobiography is subtitled "Vintner, Prisoner, Soldier, Spy?" He also authored several guides to wine. He is father to screenwriter sylvia Sichel and the late film director Alex Sichel, who together wrote and directed a 1997 film set in the Riot Grrrl scene. |

| Search | Add | 2 | The Ilves Sisters | The ensemble The Ilves Sisters is a group of dazzling, talented and buoyant sisters who began making music together in their childhood. The eldest of the sisters, Liidia (1990) is a pianist, works as a piano teacher and occasionally performs with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. The cellist of the ensemble and the third youngest of the sisters Silvia (1992) has been a member of the Sandra Nurmsalu band as well as the string trio La Phoenix. In addition to making music with her sisters, she currently focuses on her soloist career. In 2015 she worked in the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. A much beloved violin teacher Aleksandra (1993) began sharing her knowledge on violin playing at an early age and by now her pupils hold her in high esteem. At the same time she is a violin virtuoso with The Ilves Sisters. The chanticleer of the ensemble Damaris (1994) is enchanted by opera and wishes to tie her life and career with singing. She has always been interested in theatre and music and has found a symbiosis of the two in the world of opera. Gloria (1997), the youngest of the sisters has been playing the violin for more than ten years and contributes to the ensemble her youth and sweetness. Like the other sisters, she has achieved much at international competitions. All of the sisters have studied at Tallinn Music High School and are all currently furthering their education or have done so at the Estonian Music and Theatre Academy. The sisters are all highly renowned interpreters of classical music. The beginning of 2016 brought something nostalgic and musically refreshing to their repertoire – they finally made their dream of performing the repertoire of the legendary Swedish ensemble ABBA come true. The sisters have chosen their favourite pieces, and now it is possible to hear and see them perform something from the world of pop in addition to their repertoire of bright, powerful and emotional classical music. Actually, both could be described by the same adjectives! ABBA’s music has touched the Ilves girls deeply and the passion that unites the sisters when making music is phenomenal! | |

Then in 2012, they traveled for 2 years through Central and South America, performing, collecting records and instruments, and learning music from every country they visited. Returning the States in 2014, they revived the full band with new sounds and scores that no other group in Arizona had heard. With a horde of 9 to 11 incredible Arizona musicians, Jerusafunk dives deep into global psychedelia, conjuring an orgiastic sound influenced by Funk, Klezmer, Brazil, Ethiopia, Southeast Asia, Jazz, Afrobeat, Turkey, Mexico, and Colombia. Since then, they have self-funded 5 tours, 2 albums, 5 videos, and have performed with: George Clinton, March Fourth Marching Band, Harmar Superstar, Calexico, Brownout, and Combo Chimbita. | |

| Search | Add | 2 | Pierre Louise Pierson | Pierre Louis Pierson | Pierre-Louis Pierson (13 December 1822, Hinckange, Moselle — 22 March 1913, Paris) was a French portrait photographer and co-founder of a renowned Mayer & Pierson studio, one of the leading photoateliers in continental Europe at the time, active in Paris between 1855 and 1878. The company won a landmark case in 1862, resulting in the French Supreme Court recognizing "photography" as a distinct form of visual art protectable by copyright. One of his most iconic works, ca.1863–66 Scherzo di Follia ("Joke of Madness;" see last two Photos), came from an incredibly prolific photographer-model partnership that Pierson had with an Italian aristocrat and socialite, the Countess of Castiglione, Virginia Oldoini (1837—1899). They first met in 1856, when Countess was a mistress of the Emperor Napoléon Bonaparte III (1808—1873), and episodically worked together for nearly four decades, until 1895, with over 450 portraits created. Pierre directed dozens of "mise-en-scènes" and devised archetypal female characters for the Countess, notable for innovative usage of mirrors and creative framing; many photos featured provocative poses and revealing outfits, including exposed legs and feet (borderline erotica, by the puritan standards of the era). Pierson and Castiglione kept the intimate duo a secret, at least to its full extent; some photos, however, were published and exhibited in their lifetime, including her "Queen of Hearts" portrait at the 1867 Exposition Universelle in Paris. Pierson began his career at the advent of mass-produced photography in France, launching his daguerreotype portrait studio at №3 boulevard des Capucines as early as 1844. Pierre soon discovered a lucrative original niche, specializing in hand-colored prints, and was among the first Parisian photographers to adopt an immensely popular "carte de visite" format (small, pocket-size prints overlaid on decorative cardboard frames). In 1855, Pierson began his fruitful partnership with brothers Léopold Ernest (1817—ca.1865/95) and Louis-Frédéric Mayer (1822—1912/13), recently appointed Emperor's official photographers. The trio launched a joint trademark, Mayer & Pierson, embracing the imperial coat of arms and proudly carrying the "Photographes de S.M.L'Empereur" inscription. (A few subsequent brand variations included Maison MAYER & PIERSON and Mayer Frères et Pierson.) Over the next decade, Mayer et Pierson reached notable commercial and critical success, hailed as the leading photoatelier far across Europe. Besides the Second French Empire, Pierre-Louis served a few other royal families. After Louis Frédéric stepped down from the partnership in 1861, Pierson and Léopold Mayer continued working together for at least four years. They opened a studio in Brussels and earned several awards at the 1862 Great London Exposition. In January 1862, Mayer & Pierson filed a lawsuit against a competing Parisian studio, Thiebault & Betbéder, for copying their "carte-de-visites" of the Prime Minister of Italy, Count Camillo di Cavour (see Photos 8–10) without permission. The ensuing legal battle, certainly most dramatic in photography's yet short history, subsequently reached Cour de Cassations, the supreme court of France, where Betbéder's defense team argued that photography, merely a "mechanical" visual reproduction rather than "artistic interpretation" of the depicted subject, didn't substitute as a work of art; thus, photos weren't legible for copyright protection. Moreso, attorneys presented an open letter declaration, signed by dozens of distinguished photographers as expert witnesses, to back this controversial claim. In turn, Mayer et Pierson lawyers set a "mini-exhibition" in front of the judges, dramatically revealing one portrait after another, alongside well-known paintings and engravings of the same characters, to demonstrate that camerawork, indeed, is a creative endeavour comparable to painting and drawing. (Almost exactly 130 years later, in 1993, an equally unorthodox and vivid courtroom drama took place in the United States, in the notorious "[a=John Fogerty] vs. [l=Fantasy, Inc.]" case, when his ex-label, the owners of the [a=Creedence Clearwater Revival] back catalog, accused Fogerty of plagiarizing himself. During the trial, John played his acoustic guitar and sang in the courtroom over 60 times.) Ultimately, the Supreme Court ruled in Pierson's favor, establishing photography as a "work of visual art" under French copyright law. In 1865, following Léopold Mayer's retirement, Pierson became the sole owner and proprietor of Mayer & Pierson. Thirteen years later, circa 1878, Pierre-Louis closed the studio and instead joined a struggling business of his son-in-law, Paul Gaston Braun (1845—1928), one of the sons of renowned photographer Adolphe Braun (1812—1877), and his brother-in-law, Léon Clément. Pierson helped to turn the business around, and they signed an exclusive 30-year contract with the Louvre Museum in 1883, commissioned to document over 7,000 works in the collection. By 1889, the partners incorporated as Braun, Clément & Cie; Pierson was 67 at the time, and the exact date of his retirement is unclear. Pierre-Louis died almost 25 years later, at an admirable age of 91. |
