Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Christine Clees Christine Clees Detroit native Chrissie Clees has been active in the local art community for nearly two decades. Her innovative, thought-provoking work has been featured in several local publications including Real Detroit Weekly and The Metro Times and has been a featured guest on Detroit’s 101.9 FM, WDET’s Chuck Horn Show, speaking about her creative endeavors. Her work has been showcased locally at The Cranbrook Art Museum and The Detroit Electronic Music Festival and her visual stylings have been utilized in promotional materials and marketing campaigns nationwide. Additionally, she has collaborated on creative projects with numerous local, national, and international companies and artists while expanding her own artistic repertoire by continually exhibiting her work. Clees operates under the studio name Detreux, publishing her own hand-crafted books. These publications have been released all over the globe, and emphasize her talent in photography, manual double exposure/manipulated photography, graphic design, writing, acrylic and oil painting, paper collage, Prisma pencil drawing, ink experiments, and watercolor painting. Her most recent publication was released after spending over a year collaborating and gathering inspiration in Germany. Currently, Clees’ primary focuses are photography and collage, though her style and media are constantly evolving. After a hiatus of several years following the birth of her son in 2003, she publishes a retrospective collection of private work spanning nearly two decades. This collection will highlight some of the artist’s new offerings including recent experiments in water photography and hand-made collage for a fresh and intriguing mix.

Search Add 2 Paolo Russi Paolo Russi “Discojuice” is an Italian DJ/musician who began taking his first steps in the world of DJing at the end of the 90s. Over the years he expanded his collection of old and new music on vinyl; his style is as varied as his taste in music. Rather than limiting himself to a certain sound, Discojuice’s sets range between Disco, Jazz, Funk, House and up to more electronic sounds. This soundscape is reflected in the productions within his DJustgroove Studio where experimentation and creativity do not hide his Jazz-Funk imprint. In 2019 he starts the new label Flankup Recordings together with his best friend Francesco Bellini and in 2023, they launch the new electronic label Another Face Records. Here Paolo takes care of the technical and production aspects and the search for new talents.

Search Add 2 Flat 19 Hailing from South London, Flat 19 were formed in the spring of 1980 when old pals Steve and Gordon found Barry through an ad in a music paper and Andy was a mate of Gordon’s older brother. So the band was formed with Steve Bartlett on Vocals & Guitar, Gordon Watson on Vocals & Guitar, Barry Frost on Bass and Andy Hunter on Drums. All four of them had a love of all things Beatles, Stones, Mod and the Sixties. They named themselves after an, at that point an unreleased Merton Parkas song as they were their local band and they were all fans. Their first live performance took place at a school friend’s wedding in late1980 but their first proper gig took place at The Castle pub in Tooting in Feb 1981 supporting Andy’s brother’s band “Hit and Run” who were very popular at the time playing RnB that was very similar to Nine Below Zero. They played regular gigs at The Castle in Tooting (and became their house band as Andy was now DJing there too) and Kings Head in Fulham and in no time they had built up a hard-core following of fans as they mixed their set up with some classy original tracks along with the trusty covers one of which was “Run Run Run” by the Who which they always closed their set with, accompanied with plenty of feedback along with an manic strobe lighting show! The Crowed loved this and it always went down a storm! On Saturday 30th May 1981, they ventured into ‘Wave Studios” in Twickenham to lay down these three tracks. This was actually 40 Years ago and has stayed unreleased to now!!!! During their three year existence they played a lot of gigs, sometimes up to 4 in one week. The biggest gig that the band got to play was supporting The Purple Hearts in Ilford. When Andy and Barry left for reasons no one can remember, Simon Smith of The Merton Parkas and Andy’s Brother Phil filled in until permanent replacements could be found and then a young Steve White took over the drums and Mick Martin was drafted in on Bass. This line-up did one gig supporting The Truth at the Marquee. They were offered more gigs, but decided to call it a day as it wasn’t the same in the summer of 1982.
