Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

He studied piano and organ in Florence under the guidance of Robert Pichini and attended the masterclasses of Paul von Schilhawsky (Director Emeritus of the Salzburg Mozarteum) on piano performance practice in the lieder repertoire. Alessandro Magini graduated with honors in Musical Dramaturgy from the University of Bologna under the direction of Lorenzo Bianconi and Thomas Walker and in composition from the Conservatory of Bologna with Alessandro Solbiati. Subsequently he graduated with honors the Advanced Course in Composition of the International Music Academy of Novara. He also attended master classes and seminars with F. Donatoni, A. Clementi, G. Petrassi, N. Castiglioni, G. Manzoni, G. Ligeti, L. Berio. He has given a great number of concerts as a piano accompanist as well as an organist. As a composer and researcher Alessandro Magini focuses on the relationship between music and experimental theater. In 1999 he obtained the chair of Musical Dramaturgy and Musicology at the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Rome (where he has been teaching since then) and intensified his activities in music composition for theater (collaborating with directors such as Josè Sanchez Sinisterra, Piotr Fomenko, Marcello Bartoli as weel as with the Teatro Metastasio Stabile of Tuscany, Laboratory Riuniti, Rome). In 2000 he was appointed to the executive council of the “National Committee for the Celebration of the Fourth Centenary of the Birth of the Opera” set up by the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, in collaboration with the Teatro Comunale of Florence, Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale in Florence, the Teatro La Pergola . In 2003 he was appointed artistic coordinator of the Centre Magnolfinuovo Prato (training and production in the field of contemporary musical drama). He also is director of the Centro Bardi, dedicated to studies on experimental music in the Florentine Renaissance (Camerata dei Bardi). The interest in the “sound of the word” connotes some of his studies, published in journals. Many of his compositions have been performed in particulary significant places for the humanism, such as the National Central Library of Florence, Florence Marucelliana Library, Accademia della Crusca (Academy of Bran), Library Casanatense Rome, National Library of Vienna, Opera di Santa Croce in Florence. Alessandro Magini has composed several melologues for Chamber Theatre. Recently he collaborated with the philosopher Sergio Givone for a musical version (cello, guitar and narrator) of the novel “In nome di un Dio barbaro” (Ed. Einaudi). In the last years he has been dedicating a series of compositions to the accordion, solo and in duo with various instruments (cello, organ, guitar, flute, piano, oboe, mandolin, collaborating with I. Battiston, F. Gesualdi, D. Bellugi, F. Dillon, M. Barrera, L. Attademo, S. Malferrari, A. Avital, L. Bagnoli). The accordion is also present in his last two works: “Le storie di San SIlvestro. Una sacra rappresentazione” (mezzo-soprano, narrator, accordion duo) for the Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence and” Naviglio-fantasma” (baritone, accordion, oboe) for the exhibition “Futurism in Calabrian music” at the University of Calabria. He is member of the Italian Academy of Cinema for the David di Donatello Awards. His works are published by Edizioni Musicali Berben and, in digital, by EMA Vinci records

Search Add 3 Industrial Techware Micah Harwell, Jeff Kieke The Industrial Techware music project from Bakersfield (California/US) has encompassed quite a bit of musical territory from the classic techno-sounding 'Boot' to the weird analog and industrial sounds of 'Darkwave'. From this point forward (post-Darkwave), any music under the name of Industrial Techware will be strictly industrial with lots of vocals, lots of synths, and maybe even a few guitars here and there. With all the drum oriented techno around, Industrial Techware is trying to bring back the excitement and darkness of the more classic techno. The style incorporates a mix of wet drippy ear candy, strong structure, solid rhythms, and lots of movement.

Search Add 3 Catherine Thelamon Originally from Diamant in Martinique, she has known from an early age (5 years) that her life would be devoted to music. At the age of 8, she made her first scene at a school party and continues to participate in many school and municipal events. The first springboard is then announced: “The talent race” organized by RFO Martinique. From the age of 16, it was with the birth of the first album "An ti rimontan" that she touched the hearts of young and old. She then flew to Paris to continue her studies and pursue her musical career and then met Georges Decimus and Jeff Joseph who offered her to join the group Volt-face after their first album created by [a=Patrick Saint-Eloi], [a=Georges Decimus] (co-founder of the KASSAV group') and [a=Jeff Joseph] (Grammacks). It was his arrival in the group that crystallized their desire to continue the Volt-Face adventure.

Search Add 3 Rymanowski Brothers Polka Orchestra The Rymanowski Brothers Orchestra is renowned in the capital district of New York State. Their legacy started in late 1947 in Cohoes, NY by brothers John & Alex and has sustained continuance to the present day. This distinction has given them the title of the capital district’s most favorite, longest running, Polish-American polka band. In addition, undoubtedly, one of the longest running bands in the nation. The band expanded to an eight and nine piece orchestra in 1949. During the late 1940’s and through the 1950’s they recorded on the Lamb, Decca and Stella record labels. In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, John’s sons, Dennis & Jerry joined the band at which time was scaled down to a five and six piece group. In 1974 the band recorded an LP entitled, “We Believe In Polkas” their last recording was in 1981. Their newest recording, “It's About Time” was released in 2010 and was an immediate hit. With the CD hard to keep in stock, the demand is just overwhelming. Currently it is being aired on all Polish-American programs nationwide as well on all the internet stations. The group, not only plays the best in polka music, but have long been known to exhibit the versatility to play a wide variety of American pop and American standards to please just about everyone.

Search Add 3 보이스코 Voixco was a South Korean R&B group from the early 2000s. The group consisted of B-Ya, Hang-A, Ha Jin, and Cho-A. Because they were signed to Jive Records Korea, Voixco did not get a whole lot of recognition due to Jive Records being an American based label. However, they did get more recognition in Japan. The only type of big recognition they were able to receive in Korea was for promoting the domestic release of the 20th Century Fox animated movie Ice Age (2001). The song "Ice Baby" was used for the promotion and a music video was produced as well. Due to poor management and Jive Records Korea having to file for bankruptcy, Voixco disbanded in 2002.

Search Add 3 Tu Hormona Tu Hermana The real name of the band is "Tu Hermana" (Your Sister). By copyright issues it ended up correcting each copy by hand so that it appeared as "Tu Hormona" (Your Hormone). A note from 1998: https://www.pagina12.com.ar/1999/suple/no/99-02/99-02-11/199.htm Now it's called Tu Hormona another travaladna “Essentially it's rock, but in the middle there are broken songs, quiet, chacareras, joda... There is no coherence of style. We try to do what we like”, says Gustavo Jove, drummer of Las Pelotas. But his definition does not respond to Sokol and Daffunchio's band but to Tu Hormona, the quartet that has just released a well-treated first rock and blues album. It's called Where are the keys? and the distribution for now is underground. “It's what happens to us all the time”, they say to explain the origin of the prosaic question that gives the CD its name. Whoever roams the underground probably knows the group as Tu Hermana, their first name before a patent issue forced them to rename themselves. A couple of changed vowels, and the insolent Tu Hermana became the curious Tu Hormona. The line-up is completed by Mariano Mahía on guitar, Juan Pablo Pagano on bass and singer Claudia Canga, alias Köla, much closer to Patti Smith than Natalie Imbruglia, to get an idea. “It started as a project of Köla and mine”, Gustavo recalls. “We wanted to make music without any preconceptions. We're pretty brainless in that sense." They recorded the album in the Los Angeles studios (owned by Las Pelotas), in the middle of the calm mountains of Nono, Córdoba. But the fact of being related to a consecrated band does not make things any easier for them. At least that is deduced from the lyrics of the second song on the album, “What are you working on?”: “A thousand years rehearsing / to be able to play / in some dark pub / that they won't even pay me”, sounds in the chorus. The hard life of the Argentine rocker? "It's that if after spending all week carrying newsletters everywhere, carrying equipment, rehearsing, pasting up posters at night with paste, an asshole comes along and says 'ah, yes, but that's not work...'", Jove reprimands with his head and concludes, tense: "Go wash your ass!". https://elsiestero.com.ar/efemerides/gustavo-jove/ "...Parallel to his work in the group then led by Alejandro Sokol, Jove founded Tu Hormona together with his wife and singer Claudia "Köla" Canga (who would later also participate as a backup singer in the classic "Será" and "Abejas" by Las Pelotas ) and ventures again into the world of the underground until the dissolution of the band..."

Search Add 3 Urar URAR is a Pula-based trio whose work started in April 2016 as a duo consisting of Dejan Gotal (vocals and guitar) and Emil Rojnić (drums). Later that year, Aida Dražić (baritone saxophone) joined in and URAR stepped into 2017 in full force. It was a year marked by lots of hard work, creation and affirmation of the band’s sound identity and the resulting live performances. After a great many rehearsals, the band recorded their first album and played several gigs in and around Pula, Koper, Ljubljana, Nova Gorica and Zagreb. This trio distinguished by some quite dissimilar personalities, diverse musical preferences and influences grew into a unique collective which secures an avant-garde musical expression of joyfully depressive colours through a fusion of numerous music genres, charisma and simplicity.
