Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Steve Kovacev | Steve Kovacev | Mr. Kovacev has spent a lifetime with the Tambura ... over 50 years. In the middle 1930's, Steve Kovacev performed with the Marsovian Troubadors, a semi-professional group of musicians centered in Kenosda, Wisconsin, and led by Mr. Stanley Jambrek. Later he also performed wtih the famed Elias Serenaders, a group that toured the United States from one end to the other on the vaudeville circuit. After the War years, Steve joined the Duquesne University Tamburitzans as both tambura player and dancer in 1947. As a tambura player, he played every one of the tambura instruments at one time or another. One year he even played the little-known instrument, the 'celo-berde'. In 1952, Mr. Kovacev became the Assistant Director of the Duquesne University Tamburitzans. From that time to the present, he has arranged music for the tambura. A short time later he became the Treasurer of the Tamburitzan organization. In 1954, along with Walter W. Kolar, he helped to establish the Duquesne University Tamburitzans School of Music, a movement which has spread all across the U.S. with groups known as the 'Junior Tamburitzans'. He was chosen to be the Director of the annual Tamburitza Federation Festival in 1974. That same year he began to produce a long list of Duquesne University Tamburitzans long-play phonograph recordings, about 40 in all. With the Tamburitzans, Steve Kovacev has traveled to every state in the U.S. and 35 countries around the world, always spreading the word about the tambura. Working closely with Walter W. Kolar, Mr. Kovacev has created the Tamburitzan Cultural Center in Pittsburgh and has helped plan the new Tamburitzan National Folk Arts Center concept. In 1970, Mr. Kovacev helped to establish DUTIFA, the Duquesne University Tamburitzans Institute of Folk Arts within which he has been teaching the Tambura, on a university level and for academic credit, for the past 14 years. He is the only person in the United States to teach the tambura this long for academic credit and he is still actively teaching at Duquesne University. Mr. Kovacev is presently an Assistant Professor at Duquesne University and continues to lend guidance to his first love - the Duquesne University Tamburitzans. |

Search | Add | 3 | La Trifullka | In the beginnings of La Trifullka, back in 1995, one of the main ideas was to make music of its own. That worked as a philosophy of the band integrated by Luis and Raúl Rueda, Xavier von Buchwald and Christian Freire until this December. Those beginnings where there is an extraordinary chemistry and good vibes no longer go, the group is unmarked and leaves three albums for the history of the national rock: Mucha Rabia, Efecto Placebo and Calamidad Doméstica. Luis Rueda (vocalist) is the one who tells almost everything, the other part of the noise of La Trifullka is known by his followers and those who once heard them and saw them derailing the stages. There is no crying. They release the first album Mucha Rabia en 1996 and have a good promotion job with the MTM label. Time of the fifth hair and artificial light that coincides with the takeoff of the group. In '97 the band grows a lot, toured the country, sells many records, plays at the Festival Rock al Parque in Bogotá, Colombia. Everything is going well and they get dizzy for success. They enter a stage of chaos. After the concert at the Pululahua volcano in 1999, the bassist Raúl Rueda left the band, although he never left completely: he played in the presentations and participated in the Efecto Placebo (2000). To get this metal, seven months were locked in Luis's house. The result of so much experimentation is a superdark disc (dark), according to Luis Rueda, much more creative and more interpenetrating among the musicians. They live like a band from the seventies, with the whole psychedelia pod included. They take out the disk independently and realize that the work of a promoter is always necessary. Placebo effect is completely different from Mucha rabia, but it does not strike well among the followers, to many it seems horrible, others begin to know La Trifullka with this delivery, however, commercially it does not work. In 2001, Luis left for Spain. He stays for nine months and plays with a band called Elecktra, he becomes contaminated with Madrid's movida, and in the nostalgia of distance he composes some songs. Freire enters the group of Sergeant Tomato as a collaborator and von Buchwald to Los Asuntados. On the way back there is a disc in Luis's head. Gather the band, but this time it is not a group work, all songs and arrangements are made by Luis. Calamidad Domestica is a much fresher work, cheerful, with different nuances that record with Ifesa. There is a lot of enthusiasm, but things do not come out because of the organization problems of the label. They play here and there. The stigma that they are a chaotic band of heavy rock chases them everywhere, so much so that Freire and von Buchwald are definitely leaving. César Peralta, on guitar, Juan Carlos Macio for drums and Daniel Sais from Argentina play the keyboards and adapt the old songs with the new sound. A chaotic show at the Santé disco, where drunk Luis Rueda is kicked out, marks the end of the route. "Everything that happened that day is not something that I feel proud of, it was a disastrous day," he confesses. The path of any artist who intends to leave some kind of legacy or transcendence is to create, not interpret. It is the thought that dominates and maintains Luis Rueda. They open and each one goes by his side. They did not pass indifferently within the national rock, but there will be no more magical nights like when they played with Los Prisioneros and those present felt the overwhelming force of La Trifullka.

Search | Add | 3 | Deerborn | Deerborn is a new project on the danish music scene exploring the lines between folk rock and alt. country. The band consists of members from Odense and Copenhagen. With a background in bands like Rock Hard Power Spray and Ave, it is clear that we deal with musicians who have something on their minds and they know what it takes to get it through to the audience. Their sound leans towards old favourites like Neil Young, Pearl Jam and My Morning Jacket. With great melody pieces from both guitar, moog and violin they embrace a playful and very exciting universe all wrapped up a very distinct sound. The energy that shines through the band’s live concerts is rather unique and has a certain way of drawing in the listeners and taking them on a journey through the whole spectre of emotions. The debut album will be released February 19th, 2016.

As a result of organisational changes in 1991, the titles of all bands were changed to unique names which would provide a clear Army and geographical identity and it was renamed [a=Australian Army Band Sydney].

Search | Add | 3 | The Potters Wood Kingswood Silver Band | Founded in 1892 as the Bristol East Temperance Band by George William White for the miners in the locality, the Band has had a continuous presence in local activities and wider afield. The White family, widely known in East Bristol, were heavily involved from the beginning in conducting, teaching, playing and administering the Band's affairs. The Band participated in various contests with the highlight of each year being the West of England Championships in Spring. The Band was consolidating its return to the Second section prior to the merger. Kingswood (Bristol) Band The Kingswood Bristol Band, as it is was last known, was formed in 1958 by Mr Herbert Sevier. Consisting initially of boys from the Potters Wood Methodist Church it went by the name of 'Kingswood and District Band'. The first rehearsal, taken by Herbert, was on 14th January 1959. The band rapidly grew in numbers and success, reaching the National Finals in London in 1966. It was also in 1966 that the now 'Potters Wood Kingswood Hill, Bristol Silver Band' amalgamated with the Albion Dockyard Silver Band who were also conducted by Herbert Sevier. The band's name now changed to the 'Kingswood (Potters Wood) Silver Band'. The band was now going from strength to strength, culminating in promotion to the Championship Section. The band secured sponsorship from local manufacturing company Bendix in 1976, a partnership that lasted over 20 years. 'The Bendix Kingswood Band' again reached Championship status in 1988. A severe lack of players almost caused the band to fold in the mid 1990's but, through the loyalty of the members, built its way back up. In 2000, the band was placed 1st in the regional championships held at the Riviera Centre, Torquay, becoming the Boosey & Hawkes National Brass Band Champions of the West of England (2nd Section) enabling them to compete in the National Finals in Preston. The band qualified again in 2001, again enabling them to compete in the National Finals. In this year both the Regionals and Finals were held in Torquay! Although throughout the banding world they became known as 'The Bendix Band', sponsorship from the Bendix company eventually ceased with the company's demise. With this in mind, in July 2006 the band changed its name to the 'Kingswood Bristol Band'. Thus maintaining its links to the community it regards as home.

Hoffman left at the end of 1986 to play drums in the Lehigh Valley PA hardcore band Follow Fashion Monkeys who recorded their second album at Inner Ear Studios with Don Zientara and Ian McKaye. Kevin Ohlinger previously played in Reading Pennsylvania's first hardcore band Suburban Aggression from 1982 until 1984 when they morphed into the band Anthrophobia.

Search | Add | 3 | The Wabash Jazzmen | This highly entertaining hot five came together in 1994 with the desire to create a new sound on the traditional jazz scene. They chose to go drumless and the front line is driven along by the flowing banjo playing of leader Mark Challinor, accompanied by the rhythmic string bass of Richard Vernon - a real powerhouse rhythm section from the band's youngsters! The front line of Ged Hone on trumpet, Mike Hayler on clarinet/tenor sax and Mike Pembroke on trombone play superbly as one during ensemble work but also demonstrate their years of experience, producing engaging solos.

He first collaborated with Philippe Bréjean, Marc Fabien Bonnard, Patrick Lemaitre, Didier Barbelivien, Gerard Stern, Christian Géant and two top majors, Polydor and Barclay. During the nineties, Jean Paul met with few artists among the best of the so called "New Generation" and co-signed several songs released with John Doane from the band “Skandal” and Patrick Handal (Gitano), Fabrice Rouzier (Et Si Enfin, L'Exilé) and Lionel Volel (Le Mango Blues). He also was retained by the filmmaker Sacha Parisot to work on the movie score of "La Rebelle" with the title "La rebelle, c'est moi" interpreted by the talented Muriel Scott. Early 2000, Jean Paul wrote a piece of twelve songs for a Fund Raising Campain against Cancer. The Album "L'Hymne A La Vie" was a great success. In 2016 Reginald Policard offers to collaborate for a song interpreted by Ralph Thamar "Ebène est ta couleur", released in 2017 on Reginald Policard Album of the year "Mirage". “Ebène est ta couleur” contributed to the success of that album. Beginning 2020 Jean-Paul Lafitte signed with Paradise Label to collaborate with several artists. The first Christopher Nao / Jean-Paul Lafitte collaboration started with an original motion picture soundtrack "The Last Squaw".

Search | Add | 3 | Hilltop Holdout Bluegrass Band | Hilltop Holdout (aka Hilltop Holdout Bluegrass Band) was a country and bluegrass band from Brisbane, Australia. Hilltop Holdout was formed in 1976 with a number of Americans who were in Brisbane teaching. The line up at that time was Keith Ross on banjo, Bern Dell on guitar, and three Americans - Hunter Owens, Jim Farnham (sp?) and Nancy Hodgen. Rosanne Gare played fiddle. In 1978 they had a shake-up when the Americans went their separate ways and Roseanne left the group. John Djvorak joined them for a while and Mary Brettell was invited to join them as singer and rhythm guitarist when John left. Subsequently Mark Webber joined on bass player and Ian Dodd on mandolin. They played various festivals and on local television (ABC TV’s Country Music programme Country Roads). Other people who played with HHBB over the years were Mick Bohl, Mick Albeck, Chris Ridgway, Ewan Mackenzie, Wendy Reed, Geoff Adeney, George, Matt Harrison and Hugh Curtis.
