Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Peter Sando | Singer/Songwriter, Peter Sando emerged in the late 60's from the band Gandalf, formerly the Rahgoos prior to the LP release, appearing at various New York clubs such as "The Phone Booth", Scott Muni's "Rolling Stone", "The Electric Circus", Murray the K's "World", and the legendary "Night Owl Cafe" in Greenwich Village. It was there that he met songwriters Garry Bonner and Alan Gordon ("Happy Together", "She'd Rather Be With Me") who brought the band to the attention of record producers Koppelman & Rubin. K&R signed the band and immediately started work on the GANDALF album which was released on the Capitol label in 1969, with two songs penned by Peter. "Can You Travel in the Dark Alone" was a favorite of the late Allison Steele, "The Nightbird", on WNEW-FM New York, who would introduce it with a lengthy dose of her inimitable psychedelic poetry. Unfortunately, the band broke up in 1968 before the original LP was released. At that time Peter again teamed up with Bonner and Gordon to sing lead on two singles including their "Dance at St. Francis" as the Barracuda on RCA which charted briefly in 1968. Recent solo albums include Creatures Of Habit (1999), Afraid Of The Dark (2014), and Let There Be Love (2015).

Occasionally Lou would sing with a young group founded, in high school, called the Valiants. But fate would take him instead to the big screen where he'd often conjure up laughter as a caricature of a fat man humoring largely black audiences eager for laughs and a black hero vs. a mostly white villain formula as often depicted in Blackploitation films.

Search | Add | 4 | Too Much For The White Man | Irish Reggae band from Tuam in County Galway who formed in 1985 and disbanded in the early 90s. The idea of the group came together when band members were living in London. While in the UK capital, the band started playing with Jamaican musicans. This gave rise to their interest in reggae. Leo Moran only remained with the group for a short time as he left in 1986 to form [a=The Saw Doctors]. They returned to Tuam in 1987. They derived their name from a rough translation of a Spanish phrase. Band member, John Brogan, had just returned home from the Canary Islands where the heat there was described as being 'Too Much For The Whiteman'. Put Your Mind At Ease reached Number 28 in Ireland on the 13th of October 1988 where it stayed for one week. They also contributed the track 'Try A Little Harder' to the soundtrack of 'The Courier', a film featuring Gabriel Byrne and Patrick Bergin. Too Much For The Whiteman split in the early 90s. However, they reformed on the 22nd of August 2015 to perform live at the SugarBeat Festival in Tuam Stadium. On the 29th of April 2017 they played live again at The Brogue Bar, Tuam in honour of their late bass player [a=Dermot Holian] aka Der who had lost his battle with cancer on the 18th of July 2015. The proceeds of that gig went towards Galway Hospice. Line up: Martin 'Mouse' McHugh - Vocals Mike Ivory - Guitar Axel Grude - Keyboards Dermot Holian - Bass Gerry McHugh - Percussion Alan Flynn - Drums Danny Kelly - Trombone John Brogan - Drums

Search | Add | 4 | Lennie Miles | Vocalist Lenny Miles, born in Forth Worth, Texas on December 22, 1934, is one of those One-Hit Wonders who, once you hear his Sam Cooke-quality vocals, you just know would have gone on to greater things had cancer not claimed him in 1962 at age 27. The hit was Don’t Believe Him, Donna, written by Luther Dixon who also arranged and conducted the orchestra backing, and in March 1961 it peaked at # 28 R&B and just missed the Billboard Pop Hot 100 Top 40 when it stalled at # 41 as Scepter 1212 b/w Invisible, also penned by Dixon. In fact, Luther wrote/co-wrote all 4 sides of Lenny’s two releases at Scepter, the other being In Between Tears b/w I Know Love as Scepter 1218, released in April. Strangely, the uptempo In Between Tears stalled at # 84 Hot 100 in May 1961 and made no impact at all on the R &B listings. Even so, the giant RCA Victor saw (and heard) enough to realize his potential with the right material and promotion and brought him on board in 1962, cutting at least 6 sides at his first studio session. starting with the powerful Living Dream, produced by Ray Ellis and backed by his orchestra and chorus. That was paired with Donna’s Gone as RCA Victor 47-8011 and released in March. Sadly, he lost his battle with cancer even as the song began to get some attention and in the end it did not chart nationally. RCA Victor then released the other 4 sides he had cut on their Groove subsidiary, changing the spelling of his first name to “Lennie” - starting with the pairing of Hercules b/w Stay With Me (Groove 58-0001) in July, and I Wouldn’t Be Here b/w Mind Your Own Biz (Groove 58-0010) in August (extracted from Amazon Reviewer - George O'Leary - comments section)

In 1990 he formed the hardcore hip hop crew Manslaughter 666 who went on to release a couple of tracks in 1991 on the ‘Ruff Kut’ album before breaking up shortly after. From there he went on to become a vocalist in the crew Drunken Eejit from 1992 to 1996 and recorded a large number of unreleased demos until the crew disbanded. After a long break from making music of any kind, Reach reunited with Drunken Eejit as lead vocalist in 2007 and at the start of 2010 they released the ‘Under The Influence’ album. In 2009 Reach also began work on a remix project with Norwegian producer Damien which resulted in the 2010 release of the album ‘Disturbed Visions’ as well as the formation of the crew Utter Nutters.

DIY

Search | Add | 4 | Debbie Whitten | Debbie Whitten | Debbie Whitten was born in the same maternity home as Japan's David Sylvian in David Bowie's Beckenham stamping ground, and grew up in a household heaving with the sounds of Swing, Frank Sinatra and 1950s rock'n'roll. Debbie cut her teeth as a singer during the 1990s with London combos The Tax Band, Blazing Saddles and Cryin' Shame, performing at many of the capital's top venues, including the Hilton, Marriott and Grosvenor Hotels, the Cafe Royal, the Mermaid Theatre, the City Golf Club and Old Billingsgate premier event space. While she recorded little during this period, in 1995 she did cut three tracks with Derek Tennent's Tax Band at Terminal Studios, sometime haunt of the embryonic Gallagher brothers. In 1999 Debbie was invited to record some demos with producer Steve Hill at his Hampstead studios, but these did not see the light of day immediately. In 2007 South London label Radi Records released her sparkling debut album "Autumn Leaves", once again helmed by Steve Hill and recorded at Oxfordshire's Woodworm Studios, sometime home of Fairport Convention. The set comprised a raft of classic new material along with remastered versions of the three Terminal Studios cuts. A seven-track EP, also entitled "Autumn Leaves", was issued at the same time, followed closely by "Hampstead '99", which gathered the previously unreleased demos from the Hampstead Studios sessions. In 2018 Radi released the EP "6-Track Demo: London 95/98-99" which paired the three Tax Band tracks with three of the Hampstead recordings. The pairing of these two albums and EPs are the perfect showcase for Debbie's vocal mastery of both powerful r&b and sensitive, heart-wrenching ballads. |

Search | Add | 4 | Domas Žeromskas | Domas Žeromskas | The 23-year-old Lithuanian jazz pianist and composer has spent his early formative years on stage alongside prominent native jazz veterans. By the time he graduated high school, Domas was already a sought-after player, known for his technical versatility and soulful, eclectic taste. At the age of 18 Žeromskas released his debut album “Infinite Itinerant”, showcasing original music composed and arranged during his teenage years, some tunes dating back to 2015. Along with an abundant team of Lithuanian musicians, the album featured guest performances from Braxton Cook & Gustav Karlström. In the following years he has been recording and touring internationally with artists such as Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Gregory Tardy, Faryi Malek, Naledi Masilo, Tom Scott, and was also part of Euroradio Jazz Orchestra, hosted by WDR (Cologne, Germany). In 2021 he started the acclaimed trio with Ian Quinton Banno on bass and Héctor L. Falu Guzmán on drums. Besides serving as a first-call rhythm section at Berklee College of Music and for a handful of seasoned jazz musicians, the group did multiple residencies in Lithuania, performing festivals, teaching clinics and working with a handful of local and visiting artists. Upon graduating from Berklee, Domas recorded “Meditations on Providence and Perseverance, Vol.1”. Featuring collaborations with Gregory Groover Jr., Nadje Noordhuis, Gregory Tardy, Alexandria DeWalt and many others, the album appeared in March 2024. The pianist currently resides in Boston, pursuing his masters at the New England Conservatory. He cites Gerald Clayton, Keith Jarrett, Sullivan Fortner and Rev. James Cleveland as influences. Domas’ original music combines Post-Bop and metrically-nuanced modern jazz with Gospel/sacred music traditions and Afro-Caribbean styles. The repertoire is also enriched by modern adaptations of his native Lithuanian composers’ songbook and Baltic folklore. |
