Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | Jay Bishop | Johnathan Howard Davis | Jay Bishop is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer from Detroit, MI. Currently living in Tokyo, he is making music with a funk forward sound that is both retro and futuristic. He has released 8 albums under various names and can move effortlessly from genre to genre. His base base however is rooted in funk. Heavily influenced by the work of Jam & Lewis, Kashif, L.A. & Babyface, & Teddy Riley as well as Modern Funk luminaries such as Dam Funk. XL Middleton, and The Apx, Jay focuses on tight grooves with heavy synth bass and drums on the bottom and sweet sounding chords on top. After working in Hip-Hop, Lo-Fi, Soul, & Electronic music, Jay is prepping his first full length release in Modern Funk. It promises to be an authentic representation of the genre while trying to push the movement forward. His song “That Feeling” is a perfect example of his reverence for the sound of Boogie. Completely written, performed, and produced by Jay, it shows his talents at crafting songs that are catchy and authentically funky. With Jay Bishop on board, the future of the funk is bright. |

Search | Add | 5 | Lacewing | From Kent, Ohio, this outfit formed out of the ashes of [a5906944], who had once included Joe Walsh before his James Gang days and Joe Vitale, who was also in Chylds and Joe Walsh's Barnstormer. They reverted their name to The Measles after the Mainstream album in 1970. Their album is a West Coast-influenced affair which ranges from folk tracks like Time To Go to more atmospheric numbers such as Rebirth and on to heavier rock cuts like Epicycle and Play For You. The 45 is from the album and is by far the best track. Fuzz, Acid & Flowers

Search | Add | 5 | Djenga | Ian O'Brien | Twenty seven year-old Ian O'Brien was born in Essex and grew up listening to the sounds of his parents' favourite musicians, The Beatles and Stevie Wonder. As a teenager he became seriously interested in music when a friend introduced him to the sound of fusion group Weather Report and funkster Herbie Hancock. He took up Guitar and went to college in his home town of Southend to study music. Around this time he became interested in electronic music after accidentally discovering the music of Underground Resistance, Derrick May and the other Detroit techno artists of the time. Inspired by the Detroit sounds, Ian took up production and released his debut EP as 'Memory Tree' in 1995 (co-produced with Asad Rizvi), receiving playlist support from Kiss FM's Colin Dale and Colin Faver. This was followed by a string of recordings for UK underground labels including Ferox, 4th Wave and Pacific records. His debut album 'DESERT SCORES' was released in February 1997 on Ferox records, to great critical acclaim. The album marked a change in style and enabled Ian to be seen not only as a techno producer, but also as an experimental artist exploring new sounds and styles. The album's extensive use of odd time signatures set a trend that was heard on electronic records throughout the late 90's. As a result of the record's widespread appeal, he went on to do remix and production work for artists as diverse as Lisa Stansfield, Japanese artist Monday Michiru and Belgian pop stars Telex. He has since collaborated on material with some of the best techno artists on the scene - including Claude Young and Kirk Degiorgio amongst others. His long-awaited second album 'Gigantic Days' was released on Peacefrog in April 1999, with 'A History Of Things To Come' following in 2002. |

Search | Add | 4 | Nikki Foxx | Raw, untamable and unapologetic, Nikki Foxx oozed onto the Chicago scene in 1989 as the Midwest’s #1 Bad Boys, bringing sleaze rock to a whole new level. With a bottle of Jack Daniels in one hand and a big fuck you coming from the other, the band won the respect of fans and fellow performers, all while snagging some impressive honors. In 1990 the Chicago Rocker named Nikki Foxx “Best New Hard Rock Band.” In 1991 lead vocalist Lee Razor (Lee Philip, Haze Lee Finn…whatever the hell he answers to) won 2nd place for Chicago Rocker’s “Favorite Hard Rock Vocalist,” and the band followed up in 1992 with the Chicago Rocker award for “Favorite Hard Rock Band.” Though the guys partied hard and lived life on a razor’s edge the music was always their lifeblood, pounding sleaze and grit through the veins of their loyal following via one of the most unforgettable, unpredictable, what-the-fuck-just-happened stage shows. In 1991, Nikki Foxx became a four-piece powerhouse. Times were changing and so was the band. The sound changed. The vibe changed. The look changed. Gone were the hairspray, lipstick and spandex of the 80’s, and in their place a truer rock and roll outfit emerged. Drug; it was the addictive new sound Haze Lee Finn, John Davidson, Brian Martin and Mark Pyszka were creating. Bordering on alternative/grunge, the band was hitting on all 8 cylinders, with new and old fans alike. 1989 Lineup: Lee Razor - Vocals Lenny Vitale - Guitars Brian Martin - Guitars John Davidson - Bass/Vocals/Keyboards Mark Pyszka - Drums 1991 Lineup: Haze Lee Finn - Vocals Brian Martin - Guitars John Davidson - Bass Mark Pyszka - Drums

Search | Add | 4 | Fred Mauck | Fredrick R. Mauck was born April 24, 1913, in Yetter, Iowa. He was active as a clarinetist in the Boone (Iowa) High School band as well as a member of the school’s orchestra and chamber orchestra. By 1932, he was also a student director for the school orchestra. Throughout the 1930s, he “…traveled the Midwest with the Freddie Mauck Orchestra,” according to his obituary in the 'Quad City Times'. The band is reported to have traveled a territory ranging from Iowa to the Canadian Border, and south through Kansas. The Freddie Mauck Orchestra is reported to have disbanded on December 31, 1936. From 1939 until the time of his retirement, Fred is frequently listed as a film projectionist at venues like The Paradise Theatre in Moline, Illinois (1939 into the 1940s), The Roxy Theatre in Moline (around 1945 to at least 1955) and The Spruce Hills Twin Theater in Bettendorf, Iowa (around 1977-1979). By 1949, Fred and his first wife, Mayphine, resided at a Moline address shared with a transcription recording business known as Inter-City Recording Service. It’s presumed that this business, which produced program content for local radio stations and rehearsal recordings for nearby dance studios, was the genesis of Fredlo Records. Fred’s marriage to Lois Hansen in 1951 inspired the name of the Fredlo label, resulting from a contraction of the names Fred and Lois. The studio relocated from Moline across the river to Davenport, Iowa, around 1956, with the Maucks living on the second floor above the recording facility. After shutting down the studio in 1976, Fred spent two more years as a projectionist before retiring with his wife to the community of Grand Marais, Minnesota, where he passed away March 11, 1995.

ILIKTRONIK KREMENEL (Pronounced: Electronic Criminal), has been classically trained in Violin & Piano ever since he was a young child. Growing up in Egypt he wasn't into mainstream music, mainly listening to House & Trance. At a very young age he started DJing at one his father’s nightclub, & at friends’ parties, school socials, & anywhere he could spread the joy of music to the rest of his peers & public. After loving David Guetta's music at a very young age, he always wanted to know how all the artists produced music, but it wasn’t until one of his favorite artists, Swedish House Mafia, posted a video of them in the studio creating one of their most recognizable & iconic tracks, (& a masterpiece of music), "One”, that he learned that the software they used was Logic Pro, that’s when he became ILIKTRONIK KREMENEL. Moving back to the place he was born, Los Angeles California, with the love of Above & Beyond's label, Anjunabeats, & the help of Jason Ross, when he first started taking his masterclass to learn the basics of creating progressive trance music, did he really start to develop his sound to what you hear today. |

They played their own songs and covers of the bands they listened to the international radio stations, such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Bob Dylan, The Animals, Wilson Pickett… Their gigs in clubs and discotheques (San Carlos Club, Gogo, Peter’s Club…) were amazing and full of energy. They became a very popular band in their city, specially when they were the winners of a contest hosted by Radio Barcelona. The prize was a contract with Columbia to release two singles. They recorded four songs under the direction of José María Solá, the musical boss of the label. There were published three postcards to promote the upcoming 7”s. But all of them were never released because of intern changes in Columbia. Los Jemax played alongside Los Canarios, Lone Star, Los Sirex, Tete Montoliu, Palito Ortega, Micky y los Tonis… and in several TV commercials. With a repertoire of almost 100 songs that they recorded in the rehearsals at the attic of Joan’s family house, the tapes have been ketp in a drawer for 50 years. |

Search | Add | 4 | Prolonged Version | James Shearman & Charlie Wheatley | The duo known as Prolonged Version have been making and performing sonic explorations from late 2013. Originally, the two came together to record material for Shearman's projects "Echoes ... Leytonstone" and "Camera Fiend" on Wheatley's Akai reel-to-reel tape recording device. The two ended up recording collaborative material as well and the duo was borne out of this coming together. In the "early demo" situated on bandcamp, the two typically blend the two sounds from Shearman's "Echoes ... Leytonstone" project of ambient guitar drones and Wheatley's solo project "Ti Seed" (as well as variation, "Nodal Incline") of synthetic organ compositions and improvisation. Within the space between January and March 2014 the two had drastically altered their sound - Shearman's solo noise project "A Raja's Mesh Men" brought down to bear on the sound, and Wheatley's solo musique concrete experiments as "Phonic Rotations" did as well - as the two switched influences for much noisier and industrial sources this was reflected in their full-length, "All Watched Over By Machines With Neurotic Disorders" - which was picked up for release to CDr by the Leeds-based poetry zine and sub-label "The Junkyard Procession" due to it's subtle incorporation of spoken word elements from Shearman (something that had remained from the sonic environment of the early demo). The two have since continued to record and perform and are currently working on their next release which will be a self-released double-cassette album consisting of a C20 and a C30 in a dual-case. Their live performing in 2014 has extended the trend of drastically altering the sound palette for the two collaborators, and often sequentially involves the two performing on entirely new set-ups that can be impromptu on the night or slightly practised yet still improvised within. |
