Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 5 Nilg Nilg was formed in 1991 in the soft area of Cologne. Coming from role models in Psychedelic Rock and Krautrock (especially Can, Queen, Herb Alpert), they have incorporated a whole range of influences into their playing over the years, from jazz and dub to electronic music to different types of so-called "ethnic" music (Stockhausen, Kuti, Gainsbourg etc.). This stylistic hodgepodge forms the fundus of musical forms that are repeatedly recombined in rhythmic improvisations, sound collages and the occasional song. That can be summed up as follows: "electronic music - hand-played" - not in the sense of the wax figure-like perfection of many post-rock bands, but as self-organizing, grooving chaos.

Search Add 5 Marco Zammati Marco Zammati is a Bass Player from Italy. His musical references can be found in the early 70s hard rock, prog rock and heavy metal, with a clearly distinguished low-end overdriven tone, technical ability and sense of musicality. Very controlled and tight in rhythm parts, with a sweet harmonic sense, in his solo parts he cleverly integrate techniques such as bends, hammer-on in combination with wha-wha, exploring the potential of the bass guitar. Thanks to his musical studies and a Modern Music Institute graduation he can apply his knowledge of the instrument to other genres such as pop, pop rock, folk rock appearing as a session and live player in many studio and live projects.

Couperus' werk omvat allerlei uiteenlopende literaire genres. Hij debuteerde met poëzie, maar legde zich vervolgens al snel toe op psychologische romans, waarmee hij de meeste bekendheid verwierf. Hij schreef daarnaast cultuursprookjes, historische romans en veel reisverslagen en columns. Search Add 5 Croskill Brazilian Heavy Metal Band. Croskill is a Brazilian heavy metal band formed in 1989 and was active until 1998. During the years of activity the band recorded two songs on the compilation Whiplash Attack Vol. 1 and an album entitled Escape into Fantasies, considered the first heavy metal concept album in Brazil, released on vinyl in 1991 by the Rock Brigade Records label. Croskill's music during this period reveals striking nuances and rhythmic variations, showing the musical and timeless quality of his work. Bringing influences ranging from 80's heavy metal to 70's progressive rock. Easily identifiable, its sound immediately takes us to the contemporaneity of these musical styles. In 2013, the band got together for a single performance at the renowned Festival DoSol in Natal, in the Northeast of Brazil. This show ended up making the founding members Eri Soares (bass) and Jucian Lima (vocals and drums) feel the impetus to return to activities that ended early. After a few years, more specifically in 2021, during the period of the covid pandemic, the two teamed up again and started composing new songs. This work brings a more avant-garde approach than the music practiced previously, thus presenting a natural maturation in his work, already rich in details and with very elaborate lyrics, a characteristic that is also remarkable in his work. Currently Croskill has Jucian Lima (vocals and drums), Eri Soares (bass), Karim Serri (guitar) and Denilton Falcão (guitar), and is preparing to release new material in 2023, songs with a current footprint , mixing new trends like psychedelic space rock and stoner rock to their progressive metal. Check out Croskill's unique and original work and stay tuned for new releases coming soon and see Croskill at the forefront of Brazilian metal.

Search Add 5 Moose Malone Queensland country music band led by veteran guitarist/pedal steel player Jimmy Brelsford, who had been active in bands since 1964, including a period with Bay City Union in 1968, the band began life as a trio "Moose Malone & The Mohairs" in 1975. They soon shortened their name and added players to become a full band, which became very popular in the north. Heavily influenced by the US West Coast scene, most notably Commander Cody, Moose Malone scored a deal with RCA records and recorded one album, and single in 1977. The album was not a huge seller, but it led to them being named Queensland's Best Country Band of the year as well as winning the Tamworth Cup. They then moved to Melbourne in 1978, issuing 2 further non-album singles "Two For The Show" in October of that year and a final one "What are You Doing at the Same Party" in 1979. However they kissed their record deal goodbye after they turned a record company reception for visiting fellow RCA recording artist, John Denver into a riot.

Search Add 5 David Shelby Somewhere along the interstates and freeways between Nashville and Detroit, David Shelby mapped out his musical direction with the final destination to arrive at country radio with a sound all his own. Capturing the salt-of-the-earth and grit of Motor City, Michigan, the rock n’ roll history the culture is known for, and melding it with Nashville’s signature musicianship and storylines, Shelby created a sound he proudly identifies as “Rust Belt Country.” He is a performer wired for sound whose talents are branded by his roots—the heart of America, built on hope and tenacity for the future.

Search Add 5 Howski Howski is a producer, born in the west of France in the 90's. He discovered electronic music when he moved to Paris, especially at REX Club, and immediately had a strong interest in it. Then, he decided to start a project named [a2744492] with three other friends, sharing the same taste for dark minimal beats and atmospheres. A few releases later, including on [l1264839] and [l358411], he felt his taste evolving more and more to a raw/dub Techno sound so he started producing solo under a new alias, Howski, and finally decided to take his own way and focus on this new project. Working hard, his skills has naturally improved and a very own style came out from this.
