Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Disturban Moscow based experimental techno/power electronics formation. Disturban is a study of a modern city and its enormous social, technological and media pressures by native digital citizen Ergo Efremov (also seen and heard in Καταπυγον and HAUP me). It is an exercise in total deconstruction of electronic dance music which reaches high level of abstraction and yet preserves conceptual unity. Sound of the project, described by listeners as “something between dub techno, muslimgause and noisegrind”, consists of drones, autistic samples, overused drummachines and polyrhythmic breaks. All melts together in grotesque and corporeal sound through a series of alchemic permutations, both digital and analogue: granular sampling and re-synthesis, signal leaks, buffer underrun and overflow, power starvation, bizarre feedback loops and artifacts of noise-canselling processes, compression and distortion. Dissolve in harsh but tender hug of a soundwave. All hail the beauty of a bug!

Search Add 2 Creature Seed Emerging in the early 90’s, vocalist/pianist Susan Hume had been performing in music college, groups and theatre when she formed the idea of her own band around her songs. Atmospheric, melodic and intense, the band Elysian started performing on the live music scene of Melbourne, Australia. Original members included Dallas Cosmas (bass/vocals), previously of Silent Poets, and Peter Allan (guitar) who had recently relocated after a long stint on the Sydney scene. As the band progressed in search to commence their first studio recordings, they encountered producer Simon Segal who would become integral to their recorded work. Settling on drummer Bindy Cohen who was with Yeah Yeah! and also Silent Poets progressed the band forward. Label interest came quickly as early demos were passed about. In need of a session keyboardist for recording, Gerry Keyes found a logical place to become a permanent member. The band Creature Seed was now complete. As the band’s live reputation grew, they were signed to Sydney-based Phantom Records for the debut release, Four Shades Of Blue. This was well received by radio, music press and was aired on ABC’s Rage and Optus TV. A live television performance of one of their shows went to air also. Momentum built with work on a follow up release. The band recorded enough material for an album in between live dates. Eventually, the self-title EP ‘Creature Seed’ was released on Blah Blah Blah. Tracks, Faultless & Nightlife gained airplay and a video shot for Symphony of the Seventh Need. Creature Seed were presented at Midem, 1999 at Cannes. Susan Hume - vocals, piano, guitar, composer Dallas Cosmas - bass, guitar, vocals Peter Allan. - guitar Bindy Cohen - drums, programs Gerry Keyes - keyboards, programs Simon Segal - producer

Search Add 2 Jim Ott James Gregory Ott Jim Ott was a legendary brass arranger of Drum & Bugle Corps. Born May 1, 1950, died July 8, 1980. Some people leave this world too soon. Unfortunately, Jim Ott was one of those people. However, Ott left his impression on the drum and bugle corps activity forever. He came from a "drum corps" family and was involved with the Stockton Police drum corps in 1964 at an early age. By 1968, Self-taught, Jim was arranging music for the [a8590005] as well as instructing their brass line by the age of 17. He continued his work with the corps until 1973 and helped them to top-12 status. Jim went on to arrange for over 30 Drum and Bugle Corps and instructed, in particular the National Champions [a1063612] from Concord, CA. and [a2137225] of Atlanta GA. It was during these years that he arranged some of his best work, most notably “Georgia” ,“Chase the Clouds Away”,” and "Let It Be Me”. Being called the “Jim Ott Sound”. Not only was Jim Ott a gifted arranger, but also a devoted teacher. It is said that Jim Ott could get more out of a 14-year-old who couldn’t read music than most instructors could get out of a seasoned musician. Jim loved his “kids” and the feeling was reciprocated. Tragically, at age 30 Jim died in an automobile accident on July 8, 1980 while on tour with [a2137225]. His influence is still present in the brass arrangements of today, but many still long to hear the “Jim Ott sound.” Jim Ott’s legacy since has continued for over 35years with a annual $3000 dollar scholarships to college students who major’s in the performing arts and the trophy award “The Jim Ott High Brass” award given to the best brass hornline at the [l153566] Championships held every year in August. On July 19, 1980 at Concord, CA "Precision West 80" [a4670283] presented a tribute in memory of Jim Ott along with 200 horn players & color guards, member of the [a1063612], the [a8292323], [a473043] and former members of the [a8590005], playing the Naval Hymn. Jim was inducted into the [l153566] (DCI) Hall Of Fame in 1995, posthumous.

Search Add 2 Cheo Martinz Cheo Martinz Internos explores confinement sensations, voluntarily confinement, even worse, indicating the initiation of resignation of a hellish emotional cycle that starts ironically with hope; The initiating point where everything starts, you see opportunities, the great ideas show up and with them the one thousand and one ways to make then up. Everything illuminates, and in a creative climax point the limits arrive, the barriers, the borders trying to limit every dream. With courage they face themselves and after and intense resistance battle, the resignation arrives, advising, nearly whispering small suggestions based on past and frustrated experiences. And everything starts again: hope, frustration, resignation. Hope, frustration, resignation. And this immense, beautiful and macabre battlefield, as incredible it may be, has not gone out from your thoughts, there in your mind./Cheo Martinz credits
