Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 11 | Anya Phillips | Anya Phillips (born 1955-02 - died 1981-06-19) was a Taiwanese fashion designer, influencer, photographer, actress and alternative dominatrix, active in New York. She was also the manager and girlfriend of New York-based musician [a783464] (aka James Chance aka James White), singing on Chance's album Off White under the pseudonym of Ginger Lee. Better known for having co-founded the Mudd Club in New York in 1978, she also played a couple of roles on no-wave films such as Rome '78, Kidnapped and The Foreigner. A clothing design enthusiast, she dedicated her life on making some of the most remarkable punk/no-wave costumes, including the pink dress worn by her friend Debbie Harry on the cover of Blondie's Plastic Letters album. Although she was one of the most glamorous and innovative girls of her time, Phillips never had the opportunity to achieve the fame she had so longed for, especially because of her premature death at the age of 26, after losing a two-year battle against a brain cancer.

Search | Add | 11 | Jack Lesmana | Jack Lesmana (born in Jember, East Java 18 October 1930 and died in Jakarta 17 July 1988) was an influential Indonesian jazz guitarist and bassist, and father of jazz pianist [a1904322]. He was born as Jack Lemmers to a Madurese father and a mother of mixed Javanese and Dutch blood a singer and dancer in the Opera Miss Riboet.. He uses the name "Lemmers", after his father who was adopted by a Dutchman. In the 1960s, in accordance with President Sukarno's suggestion regarding the Indonesianization of names, Jack changed his name to Jack Lesmana. It was from his parents that Jack inherited his musical talent. In 1942 he founded a jazz group called Dixieland in Jember, East Java. At the age of 15, he joined the Berger Quartet as a guitarist, consisting of Berger (piano), Putirai (drums), and Jumono (bass). He also plays boogie-woogie with Boogie-Woogie Rhytmics with Micki Wyt as lead and piano player, Oei Boeng Leng (guitar), Jack Lesmana (bass) and Benny Heynen (clarinet). Together with Maryono (clarinet), Andy Sayifin (alto saxophone), Lody Item (guitar), Suwarto (piano), Tuharjo and Kadam (trumpet), he joined the band Irama Samudra. Then with Maryono and Bubi Chen, Jack Lesmana founded the Jack Lemmers Quartet, which later became the Jack Lesmana Quintet. Then in 1962 Lesmana's combo played for president Sukarno who liked them though they were not required to play jazz but Indonesian traditional and folk music. They remained the "palace band" until the the coup against Sukarno in 1966. The Jack Lesmana Quintet often performed at jazz events at RRI Surabaya. He had also joined the Navy Music Unit, also in Surabaya. He also founded the Gema Irama Band in Jakarta and made several jazz recording albums with the Irama label. In the mid 60's, Jack Lesmana (guitar) with Bubi Chen (piano), Benny Mustapha van Diest (drums), Maryono (flute, saxophone), and Jopie Chen (bass), formed the jazz group [a449199] who played with and record an album with Tony Scott.. In the 1970s he ceaselessly played and promoted jazz, and established the Jack Lesmana Jazz School in Jakarta becoming both a central figure and mentor to many musicians. In 1978, Jack Lesmana and his son Indra had the opportunity to go to Australia to perform at the ASEAN Trade Fair cultural week. It was then, Indra tried to take the entrance exam at the New South Wales Conservatory School of Music in Sydney and was accepted. In 1979 his son Indra Jack and his family moved to Australia for five years. Jack taught at the conservatory and played jazz, while Indra studied at Don Burrows, Roger Frampton and Paul McNamara at the school. After returning from Australia in 1984, Jack Lesmana had founded a music school called the "Musik Indra & Jack Lesmana" Forum. Jack Lesmana died in Jakarta on July 17, 1988 after a long battle with Cryoglobulinemia, a type of disorder in which cryoglobulins attack the human blood circulation.

Search | Add | 11 | Greška | Loosen your suspenders, tighten your shoelaces and get ready to flap your extremities. Greška is a five piece neo-gypsy/klezmer ensemble not unlike a chipotle and cocaine kebab: you’re not sure where it’s from, but it sure knocks you off your tits. A torn canvas of Romanian gypsy dons a filthy smear of western metal, jazz-funk and classical-arrangement. Greshka are like the excitement of stubbing your toe on a wad of cash you forgot about; it didn't hurt, it was unexpected and you were a bit angry at first, but then remembered how much you feel like buying a really expensive bottle of wine to go with your petrol station steak-and-mushroom pie. This is a band who are alike jumping on the 412, missing your stop and somehow ending up in the Jewish province of Sweden; you didn't know it existed but now you're here you might as well buy a nice hat. Greshka play music which sounds like the contents of Humphrey Bears suitcase as he departs for a bush doof with his boyfriend. When you attend a Greshka gig you leave with the same feeling as having read a bio which is entirely unrelated to what you wanted to hear, but it was kind of funny and you had a great pie even though the wine was a bit too fruity for your liking.

Search | Add | 11 | K. Mullick | K. Mullick | Mallik, K বাংলা Mallik, K (1888-1959) singer, was born in a poor family in the village of Kusum in Burdwan on 12 Jyaistha 1295 BS (May 1888). His real name was Munshi Muhammad Kasem. But in the world of entertainment he assumed the name K Mallik, just to hide his real identity in the interest of business. In 1902, he moved to Kolkata in search of livelihood and was employed in a shop owned by a Marwari. Later he moved to Kanpur, where he worked for Raleigh Brothers, which traded in hides. Nothing is known about K Mallik's early schooling in music, but while at Kanpur he studied music under Abdul Hai Hakim. He also learnt baiji (courtesan) songs at Kanpur. Back in Kolkata, he started performing in small functions, and gradually gained popularity. He had a melodious voice and recorded shyamasangit for Becker Records. It was at this time that he assumed the name 'K Mallik', because it was feared that a record of Hindu devotional songs sung by a Muslim would not attract consumers. Later, he recorded Hindi songs under the name 'Pandit Shankar Mishra' and Islamic songs under his original name. After he became popular, His Master's Voice recorded many of his songs. In addition to Syamasangit, Mallik also sang songs by rabindranath tagore, kazi nazrul islam, rajanikanta sen and atulprasad sen. His singing of Amar matha nata kare dao he (Make me bow at thy feet) by Rabindranath, Bandhu eman badale tumi kothay (O my friend, where are you now when the rain is falling?) by Atulprasad and Baghichay bulbuli tui phulshakhate disne aji dol (O bulbul, do not shake the blossom-laden branch) by Nazrul stirred the emotion of audiences. His other famous recordings include Aj elo khushir Eid (Joyous Eid has arrived), Anandini Uma ajo amar anandini Uma (O my joyful Uma, the wife of Shiva), Amar Uma, kai Giriraj (O my Uma, where is the Mountain-King?), Amar nayane nayan rakhi (With your eyes on mine), Asichhen habibe Khoda, moder nabi kamliwala (Here comes the darling of God, our Prophet Muhammad) etc. The last song was a duet with abbasuddin ahmed. K Mallik performed a variety of songs from 1909 to 1940. He became so popular that each of his records sold more than 30 to 40 thousand copies. However, despite his fabulous earnings, his final days were passed in Kusum, his native village, in stringent financial circumstances. During his residence in the village, K Mallik passed his time teaching songs to farmers. He died here in 1959. [Wakil Ahmed] Ref. https://en.banglapedia.org/index.php/Mallik,_K |

Barbara went on to work with UB40, recording several tracks for their DEP International record label. 'Suffering' featured on the B-side of the band's UK top 10 hit 'Please Don't Make Me Cry'. She was offered a 5-year recording contract with DEP International but declined after being invited to join the all-female band Akabu, first as a drummer, then as guitarist/backing vocalist. As an integral part of Akabu, she toured continuously all over the world, performing at the world famous Reggae Sunsplash festival, and at prestigious venues such as Madison Square Gardens and the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, New York. After several years as a member of Akabu, Barbara decided it was time to pursue a solo career and she released several singles, as well as her debut album 'No Apologies' on the Ruff Cutt label. She became a regular feature of the critically acclaimed Ruff Cutt Band, becoming one of the most highly rated backing vocalists in the reggae business. Barbara has regularly worked with a long list of the most prestigious reggae acts both live and in the studio, including artists such as Marcia Griffiths, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Beres Hammond, Alton Ellis, John Holt, Luciano, Sanchez, Ken Boothe, Delroy Wilson, Cornell Campbell, Al Campbell and Michael Rose, to name just a few. As well as being a talented vocalist, Barbara is also an accomplished musician, composer, producer and music programmer. She produced and programmed a number of the rhythm tracks for songs on her debut album and has programmed and produced all the rhythm tracks for her latest album, Empress Lioness, which was released on March 25th, 2013." Search | Add | 11 | Artisan P | Phil Andre | Artisan P is Renaissance Man in the industry, creating music as an emcee, musician and writer. P holds his influences and sounds with pride describing it as “underground boom-bap music, with some lo-fi elements.” It’s those elements and Artisan’s commitment to release quality art at a consistent rate that makes him a must-listen in 2020. Even with Artisan filling the boom bap role, his verses and music extend beyond that with P’s flows and cadence embodying the poetic heart that hip-hop was born in. Coming off the release of his latest project “How We Kept On” Artisan looks to close the year on a high as he begins preparations for his debut full-length project. Artisan P’s family holds over 50 years of legacy in music, ensuring that our hero would eventually pursue music as well. “My father is a musician, he’s been with his band from Haiti since 1968, they just celebrated their 52nd anniversary.” P says. Meanwhile, P’s mother was a big fan of the art form introducing P to Haitian music, R&B, pop and rock. As he grew up Artisan continued to discover instruments on his own while attending concerts and soundchecks with his father, seeing the creation process firsthand. Piano, Guitar and saxophone are just a few of the instruments Artisan learned to play growing up and in fact still plays guitar to this day. After playing in a few bands throughout high school and college our hero decided to go solo and become Artisan P. The Miami stalwart delivers a refreshing execution in the practice of hip-hop. Artisan P pays homage to the legends that came before him while simultaneously carving out his own path to become a legend in his own right. It isn’t about the fame or any version of clout for him though as his goal is to get evoke something from them. “I want them to walk away with something to think about,” Artisan says, “I want people to be able to chill to my music, I want people to feel relaxed and good.” Over the course of releasing music these last five years, Artisan has shown a diversity of styles and the ability to rhyme over a plethora of sounds making him accessible for everyone. This being said, it is important to run Artisan P’s music back because he intentionally packs easter eggs for listeners to find. It’s one thing to have “bars” and Artisan P always provides prime execution in that arena, he separates himself in packing each track with relatable content and lyrical mastery that must be respected. Artisan P has spent the last few years owning the touring circuit in South, providing a platform for independent artists while dominating the stage himself. Also during this time he’s been releasing singles produced by other artists DJ Proof, Dr. LaFlow to name a few. All of his work ethic has P gaining attention at a national level, racking up close to 20K listens across platforms and performing with the likes of KRS-One, Epic Beard Men and more. The prolific Florida artist is garnering national coverage too with outlets like Underground Hip Hop Blog and Insomniac Magazine covering his work. Earlier in 2020, Artisan P released his EP “How We Kept On” which has already been picked up by Insomniac Magazine. Artisan P’s consistency and premiere ability to create engaging music is what will have him as a legend just like his father. ~ Michael Stover |

Search | Add | 11 | Symphony of Dreams | The Symphony of Dreams moniker is a virtual supergroup (initially invite only) that initially aimed to hit the core themes of many different projects under the Caretaker moniker, while reframing them with the themes of the 50s through seventies, decades seldom explored by projects outside of The Caretakers. It has since shifted to reimagining the musical depiction of dementia in its final project via months of painstaking research and personal experience. Formed in March 2022 by [a11551316], the group is currently producing its final project, Images of Beauty Never Seen. The project aims to portray Alzheimer's and the mental conditions associated with it as accurately as possible by ditching stages and years for clusters of symptoms and the conditions associated with them. By exploring thoughts as well as memories, the aim is to create a project where you are not just watching your memories decay - you are living through it as well. Concepts from many other projects - and aspects of the disease hitherto unexplored in the community - will be re-contextualized under the lens of emotion and realism, exploring the idea that even as memories fade away and independence shrinks, beauty, meaning, and comfort can still be found in unexpected places. "Happiness? That's nothing more than good health and poor memory." -Albert Schweitzer.

Search | Add | 11 | Markove | David Markov | Washington D.C American Hardstyle Producer and DJ Markove focuses on producing and mixing hardstyle using a unique blend of raw and euphoric. Whether with an uplifting melody or a punchy bassline, David “Markove” Markov is determined to establish a rare breed of creativity. Hardstyle represents an entire world for David to explore; one full of the melodies trance taught him to love and the powerful, more defined bass he has been yearning for. Hardstyle became a day and night passion following David’s discovery of the genre in high school. Being a native of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area has presented many obstacles for a genre newcomer. Hardstyle hasn’t reached the shores of the United States en masse yet, but David welcomes the challenge of helping hardstyle to spread amongst his fellow Americans. Markove is a play on the wording of David’s last name. Many people pronounce the name wrong, which led to Markove – a “proper” pronunciation of his last name. |
