Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 11 | Orkater | Dutch theater company which originated from [a1346918]. The Orkater name is a combination of the Dutch words orkest and theater (orchestra and theatre). The company makes mostly contemporary music theatre, newly written and newly composed. Orkater cherishes the freedom with which performances are conceived, made and presented. The inevitable consequence is that no hard-and-fast policy can be followed when the repertoire is put together. In some Orkater productions, disciplines other than music theatre may have the upper hand. The location varies from a studio to a municipal theatre, from a museum to an outdoor summer festival. Although some would say that Orkater productions are always recognizable because of their "Orkater signature", they vary in character, scale and as to the cast. Orkater does not work with a regular group of performers - for many actors, musicians, directors, composers and text writers Orkater is the place where they can evolve their own ideas about music theatre. Orkater strives to present abroad those productions that are suitable for it, preferably in the language of the host country. Since the mother company [a1346918] (1972-1979) split to form De Horde (The Horde, 1981-84) and [a3939032] (The Mexican Hound, 1980 to present), there has always been confusion over the name. At the moment all productions are presented under the name Orkater, with the exception of those by writer/director Alex van Warmerdam, who operates under the name De Mexicaanse Hond. Orkater and De Mexicaanse Hond are grouped together under the umbrella of Stichting Orkater (The Orkater Foundation). Orkater has its own CD label ([l127050]). Over the years, Orkater productions have received critical acclaim from both public and press. Orkater has been honoured with numerous awards, national and international.

Search | Add | 11 | Le Carogne | LE CAROGNE | Italian garage-punk noisy rock'n'roll band from Imperia formed in 2008. The Band was born in 2008, plays acid garage rock’n’roll and little bit of old school punk rock. The band performed many gigs around Italy from north to south and some concerts in Swiss, France and Germany; recorded 4 studio albums and some feature tracks in two compilations. Always on the run between stages, jobs, rehearsal room, ordinary life and recording studio, the band actually added another guitar player and go straight to ten years of activity. We don’t play cover songs, no tribute, we never play for fascists or nazis, only rough garage rock’n’roll tracks sang mostly in Italian and some in English !!!! Line Up Stefano (Bass) Riccardo (Voc, Organ, Synth) Carlo (Guitar) Matteo "Düla" (Guitar) Daniele "Slavo" (Drums) |

Some have referred to his raw style as Outsider Grunge Folk. Andrew Neil Has written nearly 450 songs since his musical journey began in the winter of 2009. He began to write songs out of the blue following a head injury he sustained in a car accident in Apr 2009. Andrew continues to write songs by ear. He knows little to nothing about basic chords and music theory, yet his music resonates with many people. The most common response to his music is that it is raw, yet so authentic and real. It sticks to folks. |

Search | Add | 11 | Classic The Fist | CLASSIC THE FIST is the acoustic punch against the professional indifference and for more ecstatic nonsense. So, while the techno scene is drowning behind their computer screens in the middle of 50 decibel and shitty 80/30 deals, CLASSIC THE FIST pushes the cat out of the bag with a big bash. TAKE CONTROL AGAIN. Go back to the things that really matter. Don’t take everything too seriously. Full focus on music. Take risks. No more moaning. Do it yourself. Take a stand. Yes or no? Improvisation rules! Perfection wastes action. Show your balls. Smoke, drink, everything. What do you really want? No risk, no fist! So take off your earplugs and get into the dual fistmania because those two techno grenades are taking back control. For many years they have been smashing their tracks into the clubs. Dirty, wild and misted by sweat. Yet meanwhile, the music around them became quieter, the light got brighter and the sweat dried. Promotional pictures got sharper, record sleeves sustainable, social media strategies more strategic. And the music? So so… … but wait, are you sure that is the right thing to say? Before you mention something like that you should take a close look at both sides and enter a dialog. It’s probably a good idea to reconsider altogether with a yogi chai so that nobody feels discriminated and we all stay socially equal. Absolutely everyone’s opinion should be taken into consideration….Fuck TV! Fuck radio! Fuck Yogis! Fuck everything! Buy the record! The design is a disaster. The Facebook page is a catastrophe. But who cares because the sound is hammering away everything. All the strength is put into the tracks, not into exercising disco muscles. Euphoria is sounding through the grooves and energy is smashing through the bass. The sweat is starting to drip again. Get rid of the paralysis, the madness starts now! Let’s go anal! Nice to meet you! Legal Note: CLASSIC THE FIST is uncompromisingly against vegan cat feeding and insistently for women who smile without a reason

Search | Add | 11 | Michael Rougier | Born in England on June 16, 1925, Michael Rougier began his career as a photographer for the Montreal Standard newspaper. His big break came when he was assigned to photograph cattle being shipped to Argentina from Canada. While in Argentina, he made photos of the then-camera shy Eva Perón, eventually smuggling the pictures out of the country and back north. Those images ran in both the Standard and in LIFE, where he was hired as a staff photographer in November 1947, remaining with the magazine for more than two decades. (He eventually left at the end of 1971, a year before LIFE ceased publishing as a weekly.) During his 24 years with the magazine, Rougier displayed the sort of versatility for which so many of LIFE’s photographers were known. He covered the Korean War with his greatest work focusing on children orphaned by that conflict. He covered the Hungarian revolution of 1956, weddings in North Dakota, Boy Scouts, horse racing, drug-addled Japanese teens and countless other stories, in countless other locations. He exemplified the ideal of the staff photographer, for whom no assignment was too small (or too big). Early in his career at LIFE, he accepted a handful of assignments that illuminated his compassion for the powerless. The first was a story about a blind poodle named Midget. The story goes that he almost passed out in the operation room while Midget was being operated on to restore her sight. He also photographed a story in Texas in 1948 about a cat that got around via wheelchair. He even adopted a goat after covering a “goat round-up” in Virginia in 1950. The one story that most perfectly captures Rougier’s remarkable empathy for his subjects, however, involved a Korean orphan named Kang (see slide #4 in this gallery). In 1951, he was sent to southeast Asia to cover the Korean War (replacing his LIFE colleague, John Dominis). While there, Rougier came across the Taegu orphanage and met Kang, a boy who would eventually be introduced to the LIFE’s readers as “the boy who wouldn’t smile.” At one point, Rougier sent a remarkable open letter to his colleagues back at Time Inc. in New York asking—in fact, almost begging—for assistance to help Kang and the orphanage. (“You might be a helluva long way from war in a bar in New York but these kids can’t remember anything but war few of them remember anything of their life before their mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters were killed right before their eyes. Get the contacts of my first take and look at them look at Kang and then please send some stuff.”) The letter got results. The orphanage received money, books, vitamins, clothing. Kang did, eventually, smile and was adopted by an American family. From the first, Rougier was recognized as a stellar photojournalist by his peers, and won Magazine Photographer of the Year honors from the National Press Photographers Association in 1954. In 1964, meanwhile, on assignment in Antarctica, Rougier almost met his death when he was seriously injured after tumbling more than 600 feet down a mountainside while covering scientists who were working at the bottom of the world studying glaciers. Today, the peak is called “Rougier Hill,” in honor of the intrepid photographer who nearly died on its slopes. Michael Rougier, who was an accomplished sculptor in addition to being a masterful photojournalist, died in Canada on January 5, 2012.

Search | Add | 11 | شهرزاد | شفيقة محمد السيد (Shafīqa Muḥammad al-Sayyid) | Shahrazad was an Egyptian singer and actress born in El Helmiya, a neighborhood of Cairo, on the 8th of January 1928. At a very young age she took part in various films and played a role in the operetta "Al’ashara al Tayyiba" written by Muhammad Taymur and set to music by Sayyed Darwish, a metaphorical work on the domination of the Mammelucks in Egypt. She got her first hit with the song "Awal ma jayt fy al mi'ad", composed by Riad Al Sunbati and played on national radio in 1952. Active during the golden age of Egyptian music, she was shown respect by cult figures like Mohamed Abdel Wahab and Umm Khultum, who said: "Shahrazad is the only singer besides me who can be on stage singing for hours". Collaborated with the best Egyptian composers including: Kamal Al Taweel, Baligh Hamdy, Mohamed El Mougy and Sayed Mekawy. In the early 1960s she began performing monthly concerts in the theaters of El Gomhouriaand Azbakeya consolidating her fame. Although much loved at her home country, Shahrazad is almost unknown to the Western public. Her fame has often been obscured by singers like Najat al Saghira and Umm Khultum. In 2007 the Egyptian Academy of Arts has honored Shahrazad for her exceptional contribution to the development of the fine arts. Shahrazad passed on April 6, 2013. Her niece, film director Heba Yousri, made a documentary on the life and career of the singer titled “ Stu Zad, Awal Ashq” in 2011. |

Search | Add | 11 | Salvation Air Force | Salvation Air Force is known as Canada's first Christian rock band. It was formed in 1972 by Donnie Gossett and later joined by his brother, Michael Leon Gossett. The band toured across Western Canada and the Western United States and recorded four albums. The first was released on the then largest Christian record label, Myrrh Records, and the subsequent three were independent releases. The band was signed by the "Father of Christian Rock" Larry Norman for his Solid Rock Records label in 1977, who produced a version of his own composition, "If God Is My Father" with SAF. Search | Add | 11 | Melting Clouds | Melting Clouds are trying not to limit themselves to any particular genre or style while constantly transforming. The reason is that the music they play goes beyond the threshold of 'just music', it has its own visual characters and philosophy which are entangled with other areas of art blurring the lines and united under the flag of Melting Clouds. As a result, one of the main goals is consolidation and synthesis of both musical palettes and various forms of art in order to create new vision of the process of creation. Also, one of the goals is to cooperate with people who have fresh ideas and the willingness to cooperate.

Search | Add | 11 | Target Shoppers | Stoke-On-Trent noise rock trio. The music covers many genres and is really quite difficult to pigeonhole. Songs were often extremely short, one is a second long. The only instruments are guitar, bass and drums, with the three members swapping instruments on each track. A big feature is the use of absurd and grotesque lyrics, all written by Marky Loo Loo, mostly when he was a teenager. Aside from many tape cassettes and their split 7" with Melt-Banana, their only full length vinyl album was bankrolled and distributed by West Yorkshire experimental music and alcohol fanzine Just Glittering (the precursor to Idwal Fisher). After being on hold since 2001, the band came back together in 2011 and started work on a new album.
