Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Romain Azzaro Raised between France and Italy, Romain Azzaro found his wave playing guitar and drums in punk, cold wave, and psychedelic bands through his teenage years, all the while informed by his prior piano background at the Conservatory of Paris and his abiding interest in the collision of fashion and film alike. Under his Rouge Mécanique moniker, he released since 2010 multiple EPs and 2 albums maneuvering effortlessly between the acid-house modulations of his Roland JP 8080 and the lysergic searching of his vocals and guitar. Captivated by world music, he co-launches in 2015 the event series & label African Acid Is The Future, melting African rhythms and electronic textures. In 2019, Gilles Peterson offers the label a residency on his famous Worldwide FM radio show. The obvious cinematic power of his music has already been recognized, leading him to create the soundtrack of multiple short movies, collaborate with Karl Lagerfeld on a Chanel fashion show or develop an audiovisual art installation exhibited at the Cité des Arts of Paris and the Voltaje Art Fair in Colombia.

Search Add 2 Paul Reynaud Paul Reynaud (French pronunciation: [pɔl ʁɛjno]; 15 October 1878 – 21 September 1966) was a French politician and lawyer prominent in the interwar period, noted for his stances on economic liberalism and militant opposition to Germany. He was the penultimate Prime Minister of the Third Republic and vice-president of the Democratic Republican Alliance center-right party. Refusing to participate in the Vichy government, he resigned and was arrested in June 1940 by Philippe Petain's administration. First held at Fort du Portalet, Reynaud was transferred to German custody in 1942 and held in Germany until the end of the war. Elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1946, he became a prominent figure again in French political life, serving in several cabinet positions. He favoured a United States of Europe. He participated in drafting the constitution for the Fifth Republic and resigned from government in 1962.

Search Add 2 Over The Falls Santa Rosa's Over The Falls ... seems to have a time machine hidden somewhere and they are able to use it to go back to the underground scene in the early Nineties to borrow riffs and ideas. Glaring influences include Clutch, Mastodon, and The Bakerton Group. Over The Falls brought their own style of Thrashy Metal to the stage and brought it well. Think early King Crimson mixed with throaty screaming vocals delivered by Chris Rodgers, who is constanly moving around the stage and keeping the energy high. Guitarist Bret Fontaine plays his speedy, overdriven riffage through a Mesa Boogie Stilletto halfstack, solidifying that nineties sound. His vocals are a bit smoother than Rodgers' and a little bit Mike Patton. The OTF myspace page appropriately credits Ryan Alderman as "Drums, Long Hair", his sticks and long hair were flying everywhere during the set. Alderman comfortably transitions between odd time signatures and plays with a respectable intensity throughout the set. Tim Bastianon gets an extremely warm sound from his Fender P-bass/Jazz Bass hybrid while effectively cutting through the mix and playing interesting yet complicated riffs. Unlike many rock bass players, he doesn't just get lost under what the guitarist is doing, he plays in his own style without trying to steal the spotlight. Come to think of it, all four members are usually doing something interesting enough to captivate the audience while at the same time staying in the pocket with the rest of the band, isn't that the definition of a good live band?

Search Add 2 Arne B. Larson Born into a musical family on a southern Minnesota farm in 1904, Arne B. Larson began playing a clarinet of Spanish-American War vintage at the age of five. During the Great Depression in the 1930's, he worked his way through the Minneapolis College of Music. He taught first in Little Falls, MN, and then in International Falls, MN. In 1943 he became band and orchestra director at Brookings High School. After World War II, he would take the train on Saturdays to Arlington, Lake Preston, and other nearby towns in South Dakota, to tune pianos all day long. He used this hard-earned money to send tea and spam to British collectors in exchange for antique musical instruments. Later, Larson drove for many years around South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota, presenting his program for schools, churches, and service clubs, during which he played 50 different instruments. He also traveled around the country for the American Scandinavian Association in Washington, D.C., and made national public television appearances on the popular children' program, a "Mr. Rogers'Neighborhood." In 1966, Larson was hired as Professor of Music at the University of South Dakota (USD) in Vermillion, bringing his collection of more than 2,500 rare musical instruments from around the world along. He later donated them, along with the family farm, to help establish the National Music Museum in 1973. Arne Larson also founded and directed "The Golden Age of Bands 1860-1915," an ensemble that played American band music from the Civil War ere to World War I on original instruments from that time period. Today, the National Music Museum is the preeminent institution of its kind. Its collections of more than 13,500 American, European, and non-Western instruments, dating from the 16th century to the present, make USD the leading center in the world for scholarly study of the history of musical instruments.

The group consisted of [a790921] ( aka Eric Allandale) on trombone, [a531817] on bass, Stan Charman the group leader (brother of Clive), Erwin Clement on drums, Eddie Cuansa on trumpet, and [a10831735] (aka Jerry Elbows) on conga and vocals. One night [a1588323] and [a59655] had stopped off at the Chi-Chi club. They were discussing the issue of needing a highly switched on song for an "intensely switched on movie". Romeo Z were playing at the time and after hearing the group Fantoni and Myers knew they had what they wanted. The 1966 film Kaleidoscope which was directed by Jack Smight, starred [a499264] and Susannah York. Fantoni and Myers composed the song " Kaleidoscope" which was recorded by Romeo Z. It was sent out as a single-sided demo disc that year. It appears to feature Allendale on vocals. The song also appears on the [m=528276] soundtrack. In March, 1967, a single, "Come Back, Baby Come Back" bw "Since My Baby Said Goodbye" was released on CBS. The A side was composed by Stan & Clive Charman, Eric Allendale and Jerry Elboz, and the B side by Stan Charman and Eric Allendale. Allendale would go on to be a member of a group which evolved out of The Ramong sound, soul group, [a240895]. Search Add 2 The Dead Telluriders Aaron Sheley Aaron Sheley, co-writer and star of the acclaimed OEDIPUS MARSHAL, former writer for L.A. magazine ENTERTAINMENT TODAY, director of a 30 hour movie with hundreds of live rock performances, and the author of a few successful internet blogs, like the WEB-O-VERSE, was writing his daily poetry on regular schedule. A certain chance of events lead up to his meeting with Olaf the Recording Artist, that together recorded an all original, debut music album HAPPY ACCIDENTS by THE DEAD TELLURIDERS. While above are listed as his achievements, let it be known that it was never easy for Aaron. In 2002, he was diagnosed as bipolar, and eventually realized he was part schizophrenic, as well. So, after years of ups and downs and treatments, Aaron finally got such a hold on his illness, that he was able to join with NAMI and SUICIDE PREVENTION, to speak at events and therapeutically engage his peers. This music is a reflection of his joys and sorrows, his failures and successes. The stories of love gained and love lost are universally shared in music, and Aaron is so happy to present this art work, which fits right into his stream of conscious, avant-garde, artistic writing.

Search Add 2 split_noise Formed November 23rd, 2000, in Saarbrücken, Germany. Excerpt from the band's old website: ...::split_noise::. born: 00/11/23 The 4 guys of "split_noise" have been attracting regional attention for some time now due to their unconventionality, their hard, intoxicating sound and a brutal stage show. Through constant appearances in surrounding clubs and youth centers, they have already achieved a certain level of recognition. At the Apollo Newcomer Festival (German music promotion prize for newcomers) they took second place in the preliminary round and at the Wacken Open Air Warm Up Party they could even count themselves among the winners. The music officially falls into the nu metal/crossover category, but the band itself defines it as its own style ("splitcore"). With split_noise, powerful low-pitched guitars and bass guitar are driven with melodic and harmonic riffs met by ingeniously conjured drum rhythms. The whole thing is rounded off by very varied vocals, which include everything from the usual speaking and singing parts to melodious chants, diabolical screams and psychotic "nonsense voice-lines". The lyrics cover topics such as split personality, child abuse, drug addiction, xenophobia, suicide - political, personal, as well as social and socio-critical aspects. The aim is to reflect one's own views and emotions in the music. 4 interesting characters have come together, strikingly different and yet similar in some ways; hear for yourself - splitcore is born...
