Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Eyal Netzer | Eyal Netzer is a saxophonist and composer. Released his debut album “Speaking Through the Walls” on Creative Sources Recordings – A duet with the renowned saxophonist and composer Stephen Horenstein. This project is a meeting of two generations in sync, celebrating the tradition of two tenor saxophones in dialogue through traditional, contemporary and experimental forms. Also being active in the Israeli jazz scene, Netzer is a member of Shay Hazan Quintet, a world class jazz quintet, performing on Europe’s prestigious festival stages. Netzer’s saxophone tells of a journey of simplicity and even primary, primitive state of being, yet strongly connected to the world’s present suffering and delight.

Their music is both enchanting and soulful” /Greg Cohen

Search | Add | 2 | Tokyo Blue | Profile Tokyo Blue was formed in 2008 by Japanese bassist Hiroaki Maekawa, Indonesian pianist Ywenna Carollin and Malaysian drummer Joshua Maran to compose and perform original instrumental music. The current drummer of the band is Cuban Pablo Calzado replacing Joshua who studies in Berkleee. This Malaysia-based band is considered one of Malaysia's hottest jazz acts and are still actively gigging. Heavily infuenced by international artists and composers including Hiromi Uehara, Avishai Cohen, Marcus Miller, Joe Hisaishi and more, Tokyo Blue's music has essences of Jazz, Fusion, Latin, Progressive Rock and even Film music. The trio uses sweet melodies with funky rhythm section and odd meters at times, constantly pushing their limits of jazz writing and improvisation while still keeping the songs melodious and story-full. While still performing at jazz venues, festivals and private events in Malaysia, after wowing local music lovers and industry veterans with their instrumental forays into jazz, local jazz trio Tokyo Blue stepped it up a notch with debut album The Naked Soul which was just released in October 2009, that promises songs that bare the core of their beings and push the edge of experimentation. The trio has a distinct sound featuring the adventurous bass playing, aggressive yet sensitive piano and rock solid drum beats. The album also includes variety of tunes that re?ect the different sides of their personalities. With the tunes featuring pounding rock riff on piano, mellow fretless bass taking the lead, disco beat with montuno, melodious odd meter piano with double bass, funky latin beats with slap bass and more, Tokyo Blue demonstrates their capabilities to write creative and meaningful tunes, and even to entertain through instrumental music. They have performed at Penang Island Jazz Festival 2009 (Malaysia), Jakarta ‘Jazz Goes to Campus’ November 2009 (Indonesia), Bangkok Jazz Festival (Thailand)2009, Jazz Goes to Campus, Indonesia November 2010 and Singapore Mosaic Music Festival March 2011. Members Each member of Tokyo Blue is an active composer. While bassist Hiroaki is the founder and the main composer of Tokyo Blue, pianist Ywenna has been composing for her own Jazz Soul band while penning few compositions for Tokyo Blue and drummer Joshua is a composer for his own Funk Rock band. As sessionists and arrangers, each member is constantly busy performing and writing music for other artistes. However, when these 3 members compose, arrange and perform together, blend of the different styles and musicality learnt through composing set them apart from other jazz fusion bands. Hiroaki and Ywenna studied jazz under Malaysia's voted best pianist -Michael Veerapen while Joshua is a scholarship recipient from Berklee College of Music, USA. Having performed with various artists in clubs, festivals, private events, TV shows and more, each member is equipped with versatility and experience. Lead by Hiroaki who has performed in Penang Island Jazz Festival 06 (Malaysia), Rock The World 06 (Malaysia), Genting International Jazz Festival 07 (Malaysia), Gumi Jazz Festival 07 (Korea), Sunrise Jazz Festival 08 (Malaysia), Sunburst Festival 09 (Malaysia), Dig It All Festival 09 (Malaysia) and Jarasum Jazz Festival 09 (Korea), Tokyo Blue is determined to deliver distinct compositions and performance. In addition, different cultures and ethnic sounds that each member brings in from Japan, Indonesia and Malaysia effect their music to be different from other Jazz oriented bands.

Search | Add | 2 | Juan Rolando | John Roland Redd | Juan Rolando was a moniker used for several years by African-American organist, pianist and pioneering television performer John Roland Redd (16 September 1921, St. Louis, Missouri — 2 October 1998, Petaluma, California). He was born in a family of a Baptist pastor, one of seven children, and began playing piano at three, showcasing tremendous natural ability. In 1938, soon after graduating from high school, Redd got his first job at the Central Broadcasting Company in Des Moines, Iowa, but couldn't advance his career facing a commonplace racial discrimination against African-Americans. Since his mother had mixed Anglo and African origins, John had relatively light complexion and straight hair; thus, he decided to pass as Mexican and invented a new artistic alias, "Juan Rolando". In the early 1940s, John moved from the Midwest to California, where two of his older sisters, both singers, had already settled. As Juan Rolando, he was soon hired at KMPC radio station in Los Angeles as an organ accompanist. He was able to join the Musicians' Union, which didn't accept African-American members at the time, thus gaining access to various studio and concert gigs. Juan Rolando had a brief career in the aspiring "cocktail lounge" genre and released several 10" shellac records on a short-lived Californian label [l=Cocktail Hour (2)]; however, Rolando/Redd wasn't able to achieve a major breakthrough. In the late 1940s, now in collaboration with his wife, John Redd invented yet another artistic disguise, this time posing as a mysterious French-Indian musician [a=Korla Pandit]. In June 1948, he was commissioned as "Korla Pandit" to create and perform music for a relaunch of a fantasy horror radio drama Chandu the Magician. In February 1949, Pandit/Redd debuted a solo television program on KTLA, Korla Pandit's Adventures In Music, which became an instant hit and launched a prolific career. |
