Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Vinka Ellesin | Vinka Ellesin was a folk singer who sang Serbian music in the sevdalinka style. The national Serbian community referred to her as the Queen of Sevdalinka. She was born to Serbian immigrants, Djoka and Sophia (Soka) Ellesin, in Akron, Ohio around 1921. By the age of 16, she was singing on a nationally broadcast radio show on WADC. Later, she performed at the Black Whale, a well-known club in Cleveland. In 1938, the bandleader Sammy Kaye invited her to audition to be the lead vocalist in his orchestra, but she turned him down, preferring to continue singing Serbian folk music instead. During World War II, Ellesin performed at the Blue Danube and the Russian Samovar in Detroit, Mich. where she lived. Ellesin stayed in the Pittsburgh area for an extended period of time in the early 1950s while she performed nightly at the Sunrise Inn in Monroeville, Pa. During the 1930s through the 1970s, Ellesin toured throughout North America and Australia while returning to Pittsburgh many times to perform at local Serb National Federation events.

Search | Add | 2 | Dreamland Circus | Dreamland Circus is the inspired lovechild of long time friends and collaborators [a=Vagrant (3)], and [a=Shady Monk] (David Gravagno). Driven by their shared love and appreciation for the iconic experimental/ambient/IDM electronic duo [a=Boards of Canada] (brothers Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin), the two set out on creating a full length tribute, aimed at honoring the nostalgic sounds and otherworldly vibes associated with BoC*, and after some meticulous tinkering, their first album 'Wonderphase' was complete. 'Wonderphase' was originally release on [l=Eyesix Records] in 2015, but following some unfortunate information that came to light regarding the labels director, and the subsequent disappearance of the label & it's respective platforms, the album was officially unavailable for the better part of 2 years. After some time, thought, and the apparent desire from fans of the release to see it reissued, Dreamland Circus did just that, and re-released the album via their own personal Bandcamp page on July 4th, 2017. The following is a forum post by [a=Vagrant (3)] via the twoism.org (BoC fan website) on the subject: (Tue Jul 04, 2017 8:53 pm) "After the fiasco with Eyesix, our album Wonderphase had no download available. Since then, we have decided to take it upon ourselves to set up a nice pay-what-you-want Bandcamp page for the album. I want to personally thank everyone who pushed us to get this album out again. It means a lot to see such enthusiasm for a project that took quite a long time to complete, made as a passion project and inspired both by the Sandison brothers and the wonderful community that thrives on sites like Twoism. We hope you enjoy the album."

Search | Add | 2 | Gladys Watkins | Gladys Watkins was the first woman carillonist in Australasia and the first woman in the world to record a carillon album. She was the eleventh child born to her parents in Akaroa, New Zealand, and attended Miss Freeman's Ladies' School in Wellington. She remained active in multiple groups in Wellington during and after her years in school, volunteering to be an accompanist and teaching music when she was as young as 17 years old. She was also a member of the Royal Wellington Choral Union and choir at St. Mark's Church where her brother played organ. In the 1920's, Gladys thought about learning to play the carillon with the intent of becoming the official carillonist of the National War Memorial (Te Maharatanga Pakanga o Te Motu), which was in planning stages at the time. In 1929, she received financial support from the Wellington War Memorial Carillon Society to study with Jef Denyn at the Carillon School in Mechelen, Belgium for eighteen months, where she also studied with Victor van Geyseghem. She was the first British woman to graduate from the school with distinction, and gave recital tours in Belgium, France, and Holland. In one Dutch town, she became the first woman to ever play the carillon. Her composition "Prelude for Bells" was published by the Dutch Carillon Guild in Vijf Composities voor den Beiaard in 1934, making her the second women to ever publish a carillon score. The newly cast bells for Wellington were set up in Hyde Park, London, for nine months, and during this time, Watkins gave multiple performances that proved "even more popular than the military bands," attracting thousands of listeners. She also recorded four carillon arrangements for His Master's Voice, released in 1930. The HMV Recording Ledgers note that she also recorded "Londonderry air" and "Caller Herrin'" as unreleased test tracks (Downes, 17). The first Bulletin of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America announced the recordings, which were also reviewed in Gramophone. In addition, she gave recitals and teaching at the University of Sydney War Memorial Carillon in December 1930 and approved the advancement of Enid Carpenter as the first woman to serve as Assistant Honorary Carillonist for the university. When the New Zealand War Memorial Carillon was opened on Anzac Day in 1932, she performed at its inauguration with Englishman Clifford Ball. After his departure, she became the first official National Carillonist. She gave a total of 307 recitals from 1932 to 1936 (or over 500 recitals, according to Downes), playing for thousands of people who listened in person and over the radio. She also created many of the arrangements for the automatic mechanism, and a "recital, by automatic player" of those arrangements was held in her memory on Nov. 5, 1939. Along with being a great performer, she was also an avid promoter of the instrument, writing articles and giving talks and interviews. In addition, she composed at least eleven works for carillon, and the National War Memorial Carillon Archives were formed from her collection of press clippings and music manuscripts. Gladys was described as "quiet and unassuming." Don't let this take away from her strongly-held opinions on the carillon. She thought that audiences should listen "not nearer than 200 yards" and in "positions in which [there] is the least traffic" (The NZ Radio Record, Apr. 29, 1932). To her, the carillon was unique in its expression of patriotism and loyalty. Author: Emmet Lewis The above text is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

Search | Add | 2 | Madzilla LV | Madzilla LV | Madzilla LV is local band from Las Vegas, that started its professional musical journey on 2018. They are pigeonholed in the “Melodic Thrash Metal” genre. The band Madzilla LV is integrated by: - David Cabezas (Lead Vocals, Guitar) - Daniel Gortaire (Bass) - David Oliveri (Guitar) - Robert Wiggin (Drums) They seek to transcend their music, to be heard by audiences of all ages, and carry their ideology through their music. An unfortunate car accident in 2010, in which David Cabezas, creator of the band, lost a great childhood friend, lead to the creation of the band’s earliest single “Judgment Day”, a song dedicated to the final moments of life, and the loss of a loved one. Other singles, like their most recent single “Vengeance”, criticize a selfish society that seeks power beyond all else, and the repercussions it creates. Madzilla LV’s members come from an extensive background in the music scene, having performed, recorded, and toured in several occasions with several different bands. Today, Madzilla LV is ready to launch their EP, and will be touring in the not to distant future. P.S. The beginnings of the band date back to 2016 when David Cabezas has complete band members and Madzilla is formed. The first composition of the band was as follows: - David Cabezas (Lead Vocals, Guitar) - Andres Borbon (Bass) - Carlos Alvarez (Guitar) - Andres Estrella (Drums) The original location is Quito, Ecuador. In 2017, David Cabezas moves to the United States to Las Vegas and completes new members of the band and the letters LV (Las Vegas) appear next to the band name. |

Search | Add | 2 | Engelsharven | Engelsharven surfaced in 1988 as a five piece band with their first release Death in the Silence. Intent on pushing the barriers of Heavy Metal, the band made little fuss of popular of style or lyrical contents of guitar based rock music. With the departure of their lead guitarist and vocalist in 1989, the core of the band continued on with Tänon Guitar/Vocals, Rhino Bass and C.C. Fly Drums. Their self produced 1990 release Im Griff followed up where Death in the Silence had left off. The big break, however came in 1992 when the CD All Harved Up was released. Recorded live in studio with GB Producer Martin Pearson, the CD found them combining complex song structures with killer riffs on top of a hammering drum beat. The CD was followed up with nummerous live shows that ensured them a large following throughout Switzerland. 1993 saw them with two more releases, the aptly titeld Unplugged, witch again was a live recording and the studio recording Hardturm. The latter recording also introduced a new lead voocalist, Kiki. With the band now freed up to concentrate fully on their instruments, the already tight songs became absolute killer songs However the sheer power of Engelsharven is best experieced live.
