Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Kukoo Wasp James Upright James 'Kukoo Wasp' Upright was inspired at a very early age by computer game composers and his dad's record collection of Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre and early Pink Floyd. When the acid and rave years picked up, he got involved in the scene through his older brother Andrew 'The Moog' Wright. More recently developing a great love for breaks, KW is blending the fondness of retro arcade game sounds with chunky beats to create something bouncy, yet spiky.

Search Add 2 Tyler Famularo Guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter from Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA. Active starting from the early 1970's. Member of [a=The Balloons (3)], Sky Harbor Band, The Bandits, Tykes, [a=Larry Lynne Group], his son's group, the Brandon James Band, Rebecca and the Grey Notes, Brennan Totten Band, Smooth Blues, and The Andy Gelles Trio. Tyler began playing guitar at age 11, by the time he was 14 he had his first real guitar and amp. It was a 1965 Telecaster and 65 Deluxe Reverb. His oldest brother Tom, who was in the Air Force at the time, sent the money home for it. But, he really got serious when he was practicing with a drummer. The drummer’s father came home from work and said “Pack up the gear”. He took them us to his favorite bar, they played about two hours and made about $40 in tips. He was hooked! His first band was the Tykes which morphed into The Larry Lynne Group. Brandon who is his son had recorded some of the songs Tyler had written. RCA Nashville heard them, became interested and flew them both down to Nashville. The Brandon James Band continued for about 7-8 years and got away from country and more into southern and classic rock. Tyler performs regularly with daughter Rebecca Famularo of Rebecca and the Grey Notes

Search Add 2 Émile Naud Émile Naud’s amazing musical story begins in the mid-60’s at the St-Pierre Catholic Parish in Shawinigan (Quebec, Canada). Father Émile Naud was in fact a young priest at the parish, and also a musician, flutist and a graduate in Gregorian chant and choir. Along with local friend [a2547800] and a few other musicians, he formed an orchestra/choir and they began performing rhythmic masses in the Shawinigan area. The orchestra enjoyed some local success and they soon landed a short contract with Radio-Canada to become the official musical group for the ‘Lord's Day Masses’ that were presented live on television. These programs were broadcast from the cathedral at Cap-de-la-Madeleine. In 1968, they recorded an obscure rhythmic pop-mass album for [l885311]. By the end of the sixties, Emile Naud decided to pursue his musical career more seriously. He gave up his priesthood, managed to obtain a government grant, and evolved his group into a musical audio-visual project under the name “Champs-Pignons”. Their shows combined music (with rock, psychedelic and progressive tones), and also light effects and slide presentations (à la early Pink Floyd). And so, Les [a3100137] were born, ultimately moving to Laval before recording one of Quebec’s true experimental underground masterpieces, the now highly-coveted [m526892]

The band was soon joined by Mattus Simons (Der Moderne Man). The band had a highly acclaimed performance at the Danceteria in New York and reached the finals of the Senate Rock Competition in Berlin, where they were defeated by their fellow band Shark Vegas. Nevertheless, the band got a record deal with UFF Zick Records, the label of Soif De La Vie (Goddess Of Love). The 12" single "My Imagination" is only released to the public today. Search Add 2 OTMC Ousmane Traoré OTMC is a rapper, music producer, director, videographer, and member of the group Dubmatique. With groupmates DiSoul, and Dj Choice, they are pioneers of the hip-hop scene in Quebec. In 1997, they released "La force de comprendre" which sold 150 000 copies and went platinum in Quebec alone. At the local event to recognize achievements in the music industry called "Le Gala de L'ADISQ", they were the first local hip-hop group to win trophies. Throughout the years, they won "Group of the Year", "Best Rock Alternative Album" (their first year at "Le Gala de L'ADISQ", they didn't have a hip-hop section), and "Best Hip-hop Album" twice. In 1999, they released the self-titled album "Dubmatique", who went gold. In 2001, they separated after their third record "Influences". That year OTMC released the Rap/Rnb compilation "Procès verbal". The song for the single and the video clip is the song is " Zoukin", by Rnb group O.N.E.. The lead singer was a pre-fame Corneille in an early appearance on television and airwaves. In 2006, OTMC released his first solo "Sincérité volontaire", where he takes a melodic musical direction with acoustics instruments. In 2008, a Facebook group with the goal to reunite Dubmatique is created. 50 000 fans joined and it led to the release of their fourth output "Trait d’union". Ever since with his group or solo, OTMC is seen performing, hosting events, directing music videos, and producing music for other artists. In 2019, with Dubmatique, they were the first hip-hop group to win the "Classic song award" at the Socan Gala (an event to celebrate Canadian music that had an important success). Afterward, he launched the music label Yokobok, within that endeavor he produced the album "Business et sentiment 3" by Jeune Rebeu which was released in 2021. Also that year, he was a featured guest on Élage Diouf's release "Wutiko".

Search Add 2 Blind Identity Blind Identity was a cutting-edge band rising from the depths of the Rochester N.Y. music scene. The band's unique style can be attributed to it's many musical influences including jazz, hardcore and modern progressive. Given all the monotony and lack of originality in music in recent years, Blind Identity offers a different spin to the heavier music genre. With gut-wrenching guitars, percussive bass lines, tight refined drums and emotional lyrics that make you think, Blind Identity has a lot to offer for this genre. Putting aside the shallow and superficial currents of popular music, Blind Identity provides more thought-provoking lyrics and song structures to give listeners a more dynamic view of the music.
