Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026
Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 7 | Galaxy Unit | Zdravko Minev (In Cyril. Здравко Минев) | Galaxy Unit is a Goa Trance side project by Zdravko Minev - a member of the legendary thrash legend Crash, conquering the top of the Bulgarian extreme scene in the early 90s. Zdravko discovers a new vocation - the computers and it fundamentally alters his musical destiny. He is completely devoted to digital activities and although this is still a very exotic way to make music back in the days in Bulgaria, he encounters total empathy. Alongside with his most successful industrial project that follows - Alien Industry, where he plays one of the guitars and adds unique electronic flavors, he is also the beginning of another emblematic for the Bulgarian club and underground scene names – R.O.B.T.F. Although, the band becoming popular later with the unique Drum ‘n’ Bass progression session style in a couple of albums and many live performances, R.O.B.T.F. actually started in the mid-1990s in Zdravko’s living room. He was recording & mixing mad-ramping acid and goa influenced patterns, layered over an earth-pumping old-school analog beat. This “electronic amok” and the album release occasionally by a friend will become later the characteristic for the 1990s Bulgarian tech trance style that will influence other Bulgarian artists to come like Тибетски Сърца (Tibetan Hearts, etc.) and will overheat dancefloors for years. In late 2010s Zdravko’s curiosity and eagerness to experiment further with Goa Trance returned to the source and he started producing again under the name of Galaxy Unit when spotted and hunted out by the Bulgarian thematic label Goa Galaxy. Better is yet to come as the artist is still active in 2017. |

| Search | Add | 7 | Gamma Men | Steve Gardner, Tom Gallego, Jim Grind, Don Simmons, Darrin Berlin, Dave Elizondo, Gary Meyer | The Gamma Men started in the spring of 1991. The band was more or less founded by Steve Gardner, who is probably best known as the editor of the fanzine Noise For Heroes, a magazine that ran from the early 80s until 1992 and covered punk, garage and power pop bands from around the world. Steve had previously played drums in the band Feeding Frenzy, which included a couple friends he worked with and his ex-wife on bass. Feeding Frenzy played a lot of punk rock standards as well as a whole batch of covers of late 80s Australian and European bands, and a fair number of their own songs. The band split up when Steve and his wife got divorced. After that, he tried out for a few bands but quickly decided that if he was going to be in a band that he was really going to like, he had better try to organize it himself rather than join something already going. more at URL |

At the moment he is involved in several projects that often bring him to Italys capitol, Rome, where hes collaborating with the brand new electronic music label Beatperminute. Looking constantly for new techniques, Panùm gets inspired by the minimal germanic sound. His minimal IDM, tells about futuristic and alienating trips, evoking the typical atmospheres of clubs in Berlin. After the cd Ghora released for Beatperminute, Panùm comes out with his second act: Puda, a techno ep for the new born netlabel Homework Records. Panùm has been playing through several events, like Homework Festival (Bologna),Murato (Radio Città del Capo Bologna), Flippaut Festival (Bologna), Amore e Rabbia (Crotone), Street Rave Parade (Bologna) and purposed his lives and dj sets at Cassero (Bologna), Tpo (Bologna), Star City (Bologna), Barcone (Rome),SeOne (London),Enjoy (Naple). | Search | Add | 7 | Giuseppe Chelo | GIUSEPPE CHELO (Singer of Sardinian folklore). Born in Sassari in 1938, Giuseppe Chelo is still considered Osilese, as his origins are from Osilo, precisely from the district of San Lorenzo. After a period of careful and passionate apprenticeship, during which he listened to numerous established singers, Giuseppe Chelo happily made his debut at Cargeghe in 1958, along with Chiccheddu Mannoni and guitarist Adolfo Merella. After the official debut at Cargeghe, Giuseppe Chelo performed in Narbolia, this time together with Antonio Nuvoli and guitarist Nicolino Cabizza. But his usual companion became Tonino Canu, as the harmony between the two was as natural as it was perfect, and the performances benefited visibly. They basically represented two rather different ways of singing, but perhaps for this reason the evenings were enriched, brighter and above all interesting for the audience that followed them with great attention and renewed passion. The record production of Giuseppe Chelo is rich and of quality, with considerable public acclaim, which contributed to its success in most of the squares of Sardinia. His performances have landed in Italy and abroad, with great success, as in Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Montecarlo and in other European and Italian cities. We recall that like Terzetto Sardinian, together with Canu and Fara, he recorded several records with the Italian RCA, in Rome. With the name of Duetto Logudorese, together with the guitarist Pietro Fara, he then recorded some tracks on 45 rpm, always in the Italian RCA studios. Among these, the piece entitled "Mi giamana a soldadu", which turned out to be completely popular even with the youngest, was particularly successful. In addition to those just mentioned, the most important recordings concern an LP, produced by UP in Rome, called "The new company of the Sardinian song", recorded together with the cantadore Mario Firinaiu, the guitarist Aldo Cabizza and the accordionist Peppino Pippia; also, "Canzoni fra i nuraghi", produced by Aedo, recorded with Pietro Fara and Peppino Pippia; finally, "Cantos traditionales sardos", produced by the publisher Solinas, accompanied by Antonio Marongiu and Peppino Pippia. Giuseppe Chelo ended his prestigious career in 1989, after 33 years of intense activity. His performances are currently limited to very few occasions, such as special occasions and celebrations and commemorations of other artists. And also on these occasions his talent, certainly among the greatest of the Sardinian guitar song, returns visible and still appreciated. Info: http://www.cantosardoachitarra.it | |

| Search | Add | 7 | La Tona | Guatemalan band, formed on January 28, 1994 by Ernesto Arredondo “Neco” on vocals, Germánico Barrios on guitar and Alexis Cerezo Blandón on drums. On the first album, Alejandro Hernández “Alejo” would participate on bass and later Mario Flores would join the band to replace him. According to Neco, it all started when he met Alexis in college (while studying Archeology at the University of San Carlos de Guatemala), with whom he had many things in common. Part of this coexistence was born out of a passion for music. That is how the idea of forming a band came up and with it their first song called “La Rola”. After a year of having started as a band, they recorded their first album in 1995 with Primera Generación Records. Having as producer the famous Giacomo Buonafina, they began to form the basis of what would become the Guatemalan rock of the nineties. The songs of this record became more and more famous to such an extent that they started to be played in the local radio stations. The name “La Tona” came about when they were on their way to their first concert and the band still didn't have an official name, so when they passed by a bar called “La Tuna” they decided that “La Tona” would be a good name. At the same time, the word “Tona” is derived from Nahuatl and means “sun”. It represents energy and is part of the Mesoamerican culture and the band's culture. Over the years, they have added as the band's logo a Mayan Glyph: “Tun” which is the stone or numerical quantity found in the Mayan calendar. One of the most important concerts of the band's beginnings was the famous “Libertad de Expresión, Ya!” in 1994, in which they shared the stage with bands that were also starting out, such as Bohemia Suburbana, Fábulas Áticas and Viernes Verde, among others. They have shared the stage with international bands such as Adrenalina, Revolver Azul, Diablos Negros, Maldita Vecindad and Los Hijos del Quinto Patio, among others. They have taken breaks trying to combine their work with their family life, as well as with music. | |

| Search | Add | 7 | Gegenschein | Gegenschein was a Dutch post-rock band that existed from 2013-2022. The members of Gegenschein were Henk Bril (a.k.a. "the Genius"), Rob Hotje (a.k.a. "the Voice") and William MacVaine (a.k.a. "the Wizzard"). Gegenschein was based in Sittard, The Netherlands. HQ was the 'ARSIS Studios' (ARSIS: A Roof Somewhere in Sittard), owned by William MacVaine. The musical style is a post-rock melting pot with influences of Pink Floyd, Brian Eno, Rammstein, Alan Parsons, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Electric Light Orchestra, Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Anne Pigalle, Manuel Gottsching, Laurie Anderson and Kraftwerk. Although the name sounds German, most songs are in English. The first album 'Dark Moon Over Paradise' was released in December 2015; the second album 'Struggle For Passion' was released in November 2019. In January 2022 a compilation double lp was released with highlights from the two CD's and two previously unreleased numbers. Work had begon on their third album 'Magnificient Desolation', but COVID-19 restrictions from 2020 through 2022 delayed the work on the album significantly. The unexpected split up of the band (July 2022) unfortunately makes it uncertain that it will be finalized. However it is the intention of the former band members that it will be finished and released on lp or cd. Gegenschein (German pronunciation: [ˈɡeːɡənʃaɪn] German for "countershine") is a faint brightening of the night sky in the region of the antisolar point. [Source: Wikipedia.] | |

| Search | Add | 7 | Nika Machaidze | ნიკოლოზ მაჩაიძე (Nikolos Machaidze) | Nika Machaidze (b. 1972) is a Georgian musician, producer, composer, and filmmaker, best known for his electronic music projects [a=Nikakoi] and [a=Erast]. He is a member of Goslab artist group and a cousin of the artist and filmmaker [a=Salome Machaidze]. Born in a family of well-known Georgian cinematographers, Nika Machaidze studied at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film University in Tbilisi, graduating in animation (1992) and film direction (1997). From 1991 to 2000, he worked as an author, director, composer and film editor for the state Georgian television, as well as Rustavi 2 broadcasting company. Machaidze started making electronic music in the mid-nineties, combining digital noises and IDM rhythms with melancholic melodies (often inspired by Georgian folk music). In 1999, Nika won Grand Prix at the Electronic Music Festival in Paris, where he appeared under a new artistic pseudonym 'Nikakoi' (as suggested by a friend [a=Thea Djordjadze]. In Russian, Никакой means “none”, “undefined”, “featureless”). Nikakoi released his debut album [r=106252] in 2002 on [l=WMF Records] in Berlin, followed by [r=178243] next year. In 2004, Machaidze presented his new alter ego, Erast, and released [r=267413] and [r=329573] EPs (second and third releases on a recently established [l=Laboratory Instinct] label). Erast is a reference to Erast Fandorin, a main character of a critically acclaimed book series by Boris Akunin. Nika released [r=506712], a debut full-length album by Erast, in 2006. In 2009, Nikakoi returned with two releases on Laboratory Instinct: 2xCD compilation [r=2081020] (best tracks from both albums plus unreleased material), and a new double ambient album [r=2081000]. This work marked a significant shift in Nikakoi's artistic style and consisted of two rhythmless ambient tracks and a collection of sublime piano-based electronic soundscapes on the second disc. In 2012, Nikakoi released a new album in Japan – [r=3558829], a collaboration with Tokyo-based musician [a=Coppé]. His most recent work, [r=9289110] EP, was released on [l=Transfigured Time] in 2016. Nika Machaidze composed soundtracks for Archil Kavtaradze, Salome Machaidze, Zaza Rusadze and other notable Georgian movie directors. He also wrote music for several theatrical plays, such as The Park by [a=Botho Strauß]. Machaidze is closely tied and had been collaborating extensively with [a=Natalie Beridze] (also known as [a=TBA (2)] and [a=Tusia Beridze]) and [a=George Dzodzuashvili] ([a=Post Industrial Boys]). |

| Search | Add | 7 | The Silent Senders | Maurizio Duka Moroni (music and electronics) and Paolo “Dr. Phibes” Caucci (guitars) are The Silent Senders. This is an original musical project (produced by Audiosfera for exMachina Records), proposing a powerful mix of electronic and alternative rock music, that becomes almost a commentary to short, imaginary movies: TSS’ music is charming, sincere, an utter soundtrack, creating the right atmosphere for a surreal story with few introductive notes. On the ground oh TSS’ music is a choice of non-conformity with any trendy music genre or commercial law; in this way avoiding to wink at the mass market, the two musicians obtain to express themselves exclusively accordingly to their musical preferences. Synths, samplers, beat machines and guitars merge harmoniously in complex, multilayer sonorities, with raids in structured electronics or in acoustic manipulation. The audience is carried away to new musical scenes and surrounded by rich sound environments creatd by imaginary dialogues, micro-sonorities and irregular, pressing rhytmics. The tracks included in TSS’ albums are, consciously, very different from one another: electro-acoustic, industrial, progressive rock or musique concrete, with pop, folk, jazz, even metal contaminations. TSS build a clever music using every one of these musical kind as bricks: it’s not an easy listening, but the audience is thus stimulated by ever new feelings. | |

| Search | Add | 7 | John C. Gee | Born London 27 October 1927; died London 14 June 2014. Manager of the Marquee club from 1968 1970, John Gee is one of key figures of the club who turned the focus of the club to new music styles. Often described as a Frank Sinatra freak who had no appreciation for new styles of music, John Gee was in fact a man completely committed to the development of jazz music in the UK and was the one who bid for it's fusion with new forms of music. Under the banner of "New Paths", Gee gave an opportunity to bands like Jethro Tull , Circus and King Crimson on the Sunday nights of 1969. The figure of John Gee is also associated with the birth of the rhythm and blues days in London. Gee became secretary of the club in 1968 and a year later, under his influence, the club had extended it's offer from Thursdays to a three night schedule (Monday, Thursday and Sunday). | |
