Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 7 | Holy Terrors | A brief history... 1990-1991: After disbanding their Boston quartet Inside Outburst, [a=Rob Elba] and [a=Dan Hosker] made the inexplicable decision to leave the countless clubs, supportive college radio stations, and a teeming Boston music scene to form a new band in sunny South Florida. Whatever made them think that the land of vacationing French-Canadians, retirees, and the $5.95 early bird special would be conductive to forming an original rock band is anybody's guess -- suffice it to say these guys weren't rocket scientists. But form a band they did. And with drummer [a=Sam Fogarino] and bass player [a=Frank Labrador], they christened themselves The Holy Terrors and set out to conquer the Miami/Fort Lauderdale rock music scene, which took about two weeks. With local producer Frank "Rat Bastard" Falestra, they recorded and released two singles, [r=4182206] and [r=4182384], as well as [r=8155409], a six-song cassette recorded live on Bob Slade's Off the Beaten Path radio show on WLRN (91.3-FM). 1991-1996: When Frank decided to quit the band and pursue a career of "not playing in a band anymore," Sam recruited friend William Trev, who performed with Sam in a Rat Bastard project called The Wahoos, to play bass. In 1993 the Terrors again entered the studio and began working on their first full-length release, [r=6092600], for local label [l=Pound Records]. Pound was a subsidiary of the successful South Florida bass label [l=Neurodisc Records], and as its first "rock" release [r=6092600] proved to be decidedly un-bootylicious for the rap label. An East Coast/Midwest tour followed, but by the time the Terrors returned, it was apparent that this was indeed a marriage made in hell. The band and label soon parted ways. 1996-1999: The Holy Terrors continued playing locally and regionally, often driving 10 hours or more just to get OUT of Florida and play support shows for touring bands who didn't realize there were actually people living south of Tallahassee (which, technically, there are). By 1996, drummer Sam had grown tired of the non-stop fun and left the band to follow a series of girlfriends up and down the East Coast, eventually settling in New York City and joining soon-to-be [l=Matador] recording artists [a=Interpol]. Fellow musician [a=Mike Bocsusis] of the band [a=One (54)] took over drum duties, and the Terrors released their third single, [r=4182365]. In 1998 the Terrors again entered the studio, this time with producer [a=Jeremy Dubois], to begin recording another full-length album. With 5 songs in the can, guitarist and co-founding member [a=Dan Hosker] decided to take a break and tour with his other band, [a=Harry Pussy]. 2001-2012: Proving that you can't keep a good band down, and that there really isn't a whole hell of a lot to do in South Florida, The Holy Terrors, with Dan back in the fold, begin to play out again. Long-time fan Tom Berman of [l=Purple Skunk Records (2)] approaches the band about releasing material, and after the requisite all-night pepsi-snorting-record-signing-in-blood session, an agreement is made. The long-lost [a=Jeremy Dubois] sessions are retrieved, various unreleased studio and live tracks are assembled, and the final result is the epic, career-spanning, appropriately titled, [r=8120110]. Oh, and the early bird is now $6.95

Romark was a fascinating hypno-therapist and in 1971 he allegedly hypnotised an audience of smokers and 1000 of them gave up smoking. Among some of his more colourful encounters is the curse he reputedly placed on the Crystal Palace football team and an attempt to hypnotise Muhummad Ali into losing to Yorkshire boxer Richard Dunn in 1976. He is reputedly the first man to "die'" on stage by hanging for nearly four minutes before bringing himself to life again. He holds five records in the Guiness Book of Records for the longest-running one-man show. Romark is also infamous for attempting to prove his psychic powers by driving a car blindfolded which resulted in a collision with a police car. He was also an actor, appearing in Mannix (1967), Flip (1970) and The Merv Griffin Show (1962). Romark died of a stroke in December 1982 in Torbay, Devon, England, not long after being released from prison where he served a 4 and a half month stretch for embezzling cash from his mother while she was ill in hospital. |

Search | Add | 7 | Аркадий Покрасс | Аркадий Яковлевич Покрасс | Arkady Pokrass (1898–196?) was a Russian virtuoso pianist, composer, and conductor, brother of Samuel, Dmitry, and Daniel Pokrass. He was born in Kiev and studied at the Conservatory. Pokrass was an accompanist for various popular singers, including Natalia Tamara (1873–1934). Unfortunately, "gypsy" music fell out of favor by the end of the 1920s, leaving Tamara without repertoire and leading to the complete abandonment of her career (Natalia ended her life broke and forgotten). As a big propagator of Russian romance, Arkady also suffered from the new ideological climate, but in the 1930s, he turned back to success by introducing Vadim Kozin to the Moscow audience. The singer soon became hugely popular across the whole Soviet Union, and Arkady Pokrass had been accompanying him. In 1936, Pokrass also worked as a conductor of the Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure Variety Orchestra in Moscow. After a conflict with Lavrenti Beria in 1939, Kozin was prosecuted and sent to exile in the Kolyma. Pokrass lost his protégé and barely escaped arrest himself. After that, not much is known about his life. One of the last documented mentions was discovered in Tambov archives. According to it, Arkady Pokrass was spotted at the grand opening of the local club in 1949, together with an artist Sergey Martinson. Unlike Dmitry and Daniel, Arkady was practically forgotten. The exact time and place of death are also unknown. One of his gramophone records was mentioned in the ad in BIRYUCH of Petrograd State Theatres magazine, Issue No. 4, 1918. |

Search | Add | 7 | R.O.O.O.M | Romagna,Ronno, Stamina, DNA | Lead singer Romagna, producer/guitarist Ronno, and rappers Stamina and DNA all have something in common besides their love for music: they all have a great sense of self-belief, do their own thing, and have their own personal drive. You couldn’t meet four more different people; their backgrounds are all varied, and they each have their own particular musical talent, but they all work together in perfect harmony within the group. Ronno, Romagna, DNA, and Stamina have been involved with R.O.O.O.M since 2003. The group members themselves describe what they do as ‘urban pop with just that little bit extra’. The raps give it a hip-hop edge, the vocals are on the poppy side. On stage, Ronno, Romagna, DNA, and Stamina sure know how to put on a show, and their music can’t fail to move anyone who hears it. Although music should always be about having a good time, R.O.O.O.M’s lyrics are definitely not an afterthought, as with all good music. |

Search | Add | 7 | عزيزة جلال | عزيزة محمد جلال (ʿAzīza Muḥammad Jalāl) | Aziza Jalal is an iconic Arabic singer from Morocco, she currently lives in Saudi Arabia and is a Saudi national. Before fame and marriage, the singer dedicated her life to the study of music. Young Aziza Jalal studied music in Meknes before participating in a singing competition called Mawahib (Talents) supervised by renowned Moroccan singer Abdelnabi Al Jirari in 1975. During the competition, the singer performed songs of well-known Egyptian and international Arab icons, such as Shadia and Ismahan. In a singing career that lasted from 1975 to 1985, Aziza Jalal became a popular classical singers across the Arab world before deciding to give up the artistic scene for a life of piety with a Saudi husband. She was known to be King Hassan II of Morocco's favourite singer, and often appeared on Moroccan television and at state occasions singing nationalistic, pan-Arab, and Islamic-themed material. The singer had made a name for herself as one of the top Arab singers in the 70s and 80s. Not too little to late, her vocals have made headlines again as she astonished the world by singing a few verses from her song during the television show. Jalal’s song “Mestaniyak” was covered by Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram, one of the most popular Arab artists. The song’s lyrics come from the repertoire of the great Egyptian musician Mohamed Abdelouahab. The composer of the song was renowned musician Baligh Hamdi. Aziza Jalal, however, had several other famous songs, including Min Hakek T’atebny (You have the right to blame me,) and Houa El Hob Le’baa (Love is a Game.) Jalal’s early songs achieved commercial success in the UAE and in Egypt, and with the help of songwriter and poet Abdel Wahab Mohammed and artist Sayed Makkawi, among others, she quickly became a household name in the entire Arab world. n 1985, Aziza Jalal chose to leave the stage. Aziza Jalal married a Saudi businessman Ali bin Butti al-Ghamdi who gave her the right to decide whether or not she wants to retire. She didn't think much into it and decided to leave. She stated that wasn't a decision she regrets. The proposal suddenly ended her career in the music industry, leaving her fans disappointed, knowing that she could have added even more hits to her already impressive list of songs. May 22, 2019 marked a surprise for the Arab World. It was the day that Moroccans and fans across the Arab world had the chance to meet again with the prominent Moroccan arabic singer, Aziza Jalal, who was out of the spotlight for 34 years. The singer made her first appearance since 1985 on a television show aired by MBC television channel. The TV show is called “Likaa mina sifr” or “meeting from scratch.” In the show, the singer also wowed audiences across the world when she performed her legendary song “Mestanyak,” translated as “I am waiting for you” in English, with the same passion and maybe a little bit more. The interview with Aziza Jalal was also posted by the television show on YouTube. The interview generated more than 1 million views and thousand of comments. After a 34-year hiatus, Jalal returned to the stage on Thursday 26 December 2019 at Winter at Tantora.[8] Jalal's much anticipated performance started at 10 p.m. Aziza Jalal, who has kept a low profile for more than 30 years, rekindled emotions as generations were enchanted by her voice and songs. She thanked her fans “for coming to see me after a long hiatus. I’ve never been away from you, you have always been in my heart. I'm back today because of your love for me. I decided to come back to participate in these joyful events in our country.” During the concert,Aziza Jalal performed “Love is not a game” composed by Muhammad Al-Mouji and written by Mamoun Al-Shinawai, and "Waiting for you (Mestaniyak) which the audience enjoyed immensely. She also performed many of her classics. Her message to the youth was: “Hear us out because we are the past, and the past needs the present and the future, hear us out so that we hear you out.”. |

Search | Add | 7 | Trick-C | Carmen | Trick-C. (DJ,organisator, producer) First lady of Slovenian techno has been firmly stuck behind turntables for over a decade. As a DJ and party organiser she has established herself within the international campaign Urban Divas attracting ladies devoted to dance electronics and their adherents of various artistic expressions. Lately she has also been succeeding with her original production which, just like her sets, feeds on deep underground. * * * * * * * * * * If it's true that regular change of environment is of key importance for artists, the “mother of Prlekija techno” is on a good path to be printed in bold in clubbing annals. A girl form Štajerska born in Germany was assigned a music career at birth. Her mother decided to call her Claudia, but in the maternity ward she was crying so beautifully and loud that nurses changed her name to Carmen with regard to the opera of the same name, as she only slept if she was given earphones to cover her ears. A bit more than a quarter of a century later she is known as Trick-C and she wouldn't swap her earphones and the adrenaline that she experiences when putting the player needle on vinyl records for anything in the world. To win the title “the mummy of Prlekija techno” she worked hard at the beginning of her career as she was cultivating the hills around Ljutomer with new electro sounds, and later, having moved to Maribor and then to Ljubljana her network of partners and adherents grew constantly. With her companion in life DJ Point she worked a lot in Croatia, they were among the organisers of the first techno parties, and even now Trick-C continues to foster the cultural exchange with neighbours as a soloist. At least as much as a DJ she is known as an organiser of parties in clubs, including Lipa, K4, Channel Zero, Trust, ex Fun Factory, Klub Kaos and SubSub. Urban Divas is the name of her parties and at the same time a socially engaged international campaign, within which she and her adherents wish to provide dance floors with additional female touch: "As it is always difficult for us to get opportunities for regular performances I try to gather as many good female DJ's under one roof as possible. I favour long-term cooperations as such evenings are easier to promote, yet I pay a lot of attention to less renowned girls to provide them with an opportunity that I often didn't have." Trick-C has devoted the past few years intensely to creating her own music. The same as when working behind a turntable, she doesn't pay much respect to fashion trends, but rather build her own music story, which was always fed on alternative music. She follows this music philosophy in her latest track DeTour, which is closer to pristine techno than the impersonal music matrices that have lately seduced the majority of old fighters. This recording was released officially by the Slovenian techno record label Vezotonik of international renown as an EP featuring six tracks of various authors (including Miličević,Kobaya,Veztax…) Some chosen - artist she worked with: Umek (SI), Misjah (NL), Kanzyani (SI), La Di Da (CZ), Joel Muel (SW), Veztax (SI), Kiki (HR), Mary (HR), Ian F. Search | Add | 7 | Contravia | In the late 80's and early 90's the Ecuadorian band Contravía helped with the transformation of national music and helped the medium take a new direction. Once the scenarios for bands like Contravía were opened, there was no turning back. With the change of music joined a new generation prepared and ready to be part of something fresh and new. Contravía had influences of the Jazz and the Blues. They fused several elements of these genres to create a live and powerful pop-rock style. Thanks to the musical level of Francisco 'Pancho' Terán, Felipe Terán, and Jay Byron we saw a wave of new sensations and experiences that until today we can enjoy. With the release of songs like 'Tapando el Sol con Un Dedo', 'Por Qué No Ves Si Llueve en Tel Aviv?', 'Lola', and 'Gafas con Caras' the band sets the musical history in Ecuador. In 1992 Contravía released 'Sólido' his first record album and in 1994 his second album 'Luz de Fuga' - with these records many lived an important time in the musical and cultural history of Ecuador. Music that inspired and gave way to other great bands and musicians to be part of the national scene.
