Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Roberto De Sisti Roberto Chierego Rob de Sisti, DJ since 1980, start his activity in many radio stations in Trieste, broadcasting disco, funky and dance music. Musically born during the disco-funk era, he moved forward at the end of the '80s following the "just born" house/techno phenomena. In 1992 he approached to the underground house scene and works in the making of some tracks with other producers in his hometown. The first release was a housy track called "Free Your Mind" with the moniker of Glamour Inc. on Mordred Records in 1996 followed by other collaborations and releases on labels such as Dream Beat and Hole Subaltern Records and in 2014 he became part of Stereophonic Records crew. Today his sound is mainly influenced by deep house, Detroit techno, ambient, '70s jazz/funk and electronica but the good Disco days still lives inside his heart.

Graupan – a legendary Icelandic psychedelic-doom-impro-punk quartet from Iceland, known for having a decisive influence on the music of Sigur Rós.

Search Add 2 Sisyphus Autopsy American Goth/doom metal/misogynistic parody band, active between 1978 and '89 and primarily associated with Eric and [a=Lisa Hammer]'s New York-based label [l=Sacrum Torch]. Sisyphus Autopsy combined heavy, dark, Type O Negative'esque goth metal with extremely obscene, misogynistic lyrical themes mocking chauvinistic radical movements and groups such as MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way) and predating contemporary "incel" rhetorics. In 1997, [l=Sacrum Torch] released a limited-edition retrospective CD compilation, freeing the extreme music "from the tyranny of boy-meets-girl Female DJs of the world" (according to the humorous press release and faux band's historiography included in a foldout insert poster). Sisyphus Autopsy also participated in several cult underground movies, including Lisa Hammer's low-budget horror comedy musical Pus$Bucket in 1991 and, most recently, Attack of the Particle Disruptors (2017), one of the last cinematographic works of renowned experimental filmmaker and "Cinema of Transgression" founder [a=Nick Zedd].

Search Add 2 Angelique En Haar Ondeugende Vriendinnen Angelique was a Dutch novelty project, specifically created for the single [r=982802], a parody of the 1982 Eurovision winner [m=128000]. The single went to the number 1 spot in The Netherlands during the summer of 1982, just weeks after the German original hit the peak position in the charts. The album [m=2144449] was compiled, and several singles followed, none as successful as the first. The album [r=11857357] was released in 1983 and the final single, [r=6340149], was issued in 1985. There were three singers voicing Angelique, as well as several other characters on the debut album. Jazz singer [a2624710] revealed she sang the number 1 hit [r=982802], while [a7749814] was the lead vocalist on the single's B-side, as well as on most other tracks of the first and second album. It is as-of-yet unknown who the singer on the final single was. The Angelique project was the most popular example of naughty or even vulgar Dutch parody songs, a trend that existed from the 1970s throughout the 1990s and, in some form, until today.

Search Add 2 Antioco Antioco Fadda Antioco is an Italian producer of Sardinian origins based in the suburbs of Milan, passionate about music in all its forms, from electronic to classical music. At a young age he became struck by the sounds and emotions that came from listening to tapes of the best DJ sets in the Italian 90s club scene. Over time, these greatly influenced him and allowed his musical background and passion for analog instrumentation to grow. Together with an acute natural curiosity that distinguishes him, his passion pushed him to create a home recording studio filled with synths and drum machines, but never losing track of his main objective. Indeed, his first track entitled “Sexy Ann” - which was entirely written and produced together with his great friend Paolo "Discojuice" - was released in 2017 and included in “Discojuice EP” on the label Milano Underground Records. This first experience allowed him to gain more awareness and knowledge in the world of electronic music and resulted in his writing and producing his first release "The Night Break", a two-track EP published for the Italian label Flankup Recordings and released in the spring of 2020.

Search Add 2 Restone Synthetisers, bell-bottom pants and red glasses… There is no doubt, Restone is a Funk music producer. He even claims to come straight from the 80s. It hardly seems credible given his young age, but he says he traveled in time after a handling mistake on a vintage keyboard. The device, picked up a few weeks earlier at a flea market, had started to shake before disappearing… With Restone! The musician was officially reported missing on October 4, 1984, putting an abrupt end to his budding career. It's only in the last few years that it's come back to life. He has now decided to resume his musical career. Determined to keep this music alive with respect for sound and tradition, he still works exclusively with real musicians and the machines of the time. To this day, this testimony is considered one of the most credible and disturbing accounts of time travel.
