Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Sam Sitarasa | Samuel J. Dass | Samuel J. Dass, or Sam as he is fondly known in the music circle, was born on the 16th of March, and started his love affair with the Sitar at the tender age of 7. His first guru was his father, Mr. Jabamalai Dass, who drilled in him the basics of sitar playing. He then joined The Temple of fine Arts Malaysia, where he learnt the finer nuances of this traditional art-form from Mr. Maheswaran Orme. At the same time he also sought the guidance of Giani Bachitar Singh, who inculcated in him the characteristics of the various Hindustani Raagas. He also underwent training from Mr. Raj Kumar Sharma and Professor Haridev of Chandighar University under whom he was able to obtain the ‘Sageeth Bushan’ which is equivalent to a senior diploma in music. In the year 2002, Sam had the good fortune to study the finer intricacies of the sitar under the world renowned sitar maestro Ustad Shahid Parvez in Pune ,India. He was under Shahidji’s guidance for 7 months and his talent was acknowledged by the senior musician himself. Sam has been proclaimed as one of our times most exciting sitar players and has left audiences around the world mesmerized by his style of ‘gayaki ang’, meaning literally “to ‘play as though sung”. He has done much for Hindustani music in Malaysia, infusing both classical and contemporary genres in sitar recitals and coming out with inventive & creative albums. Sam has an uncanny ability to bring alive the subtle nuances and melodic beauty hidden in the soaring notes of the ragas in elegant and even cheeky interpretations. Imbibed with catholicity and flair, his style, although traditional in nature, has an artistic intelligence geared to the refinements and sophistication needed in the modern world. Defining Sam as a sitarist would be of great disservice to an individual who has added immensely to the expansion of Indian music in Malaysia. He has been performing since he was a teenager and has strove to introduce music genres that were quite alien to the masses. Over a decade ago, he initiated ghazal (light classical music native to northern India) and taught himself to play the santoor (hammered dulcimer) into concert halls here. During this journey, he became the first Malaysian musician to turn away from classical Indian group music recitals and opted for instrumental solo concerts in Malaysia. As a composer, Sam has released 7 albums to date. They are Sitarasa, Sitarasa Nostalgia, Vrajalila, Biography of Swami Sivananda, Vidiyal, Raga Moods and Prana The two honours that he was awarded at the Cameronian Arts Awards 2004 – for the best original composition and best solo performance categories under his band Prana – is a belated recognition much deserved. Sam has had the good fortune of playing with some of the top musicians in Malaysia and abroad. He recently represented Malaysia for the World Championship of Performing Arts in Hollywood, Los Angeles, USA. He won 7 gold medals and one silver medal for the eight categories he took part in. He also won 7 Champion of the World plaques and was the only one from the Malaysian team to be chosen to compete in the Grand Championships which was held at the world famous Palladium Auditorium. Besides the US, Sam has also performed in Australia, Singapore, Brunei, New Zealand, Taiwan, Korea and India. Sam’s dedication to this ancient art form is total and the art world is richer by his experience, expertise and most importantly, devotion. |

Search | Add | 2 | Producto Nacional | Spanish R.A.C band start in the end of '80's, beginning of '90's and it was a personal project of a NS skinhead from Madrid, he was the bassist. This is a good live record taken from a gig of the band in a college/hall of residence, included also covers in AC/DC, Lynard Skynyrd and Business songs. After Producto Nacional split-up, the bassist was one of the original members of Estirpe Imperial and he played bass on their first release, a 12" mini-lp with 4 songs. You can heard a very nice Rock 'n' Roll/Oi! sound and great songs like Tu Ciudad (covered by Odal today).

Search | Add | 2 | Street Organ | Use only for Dutch street organs (draaiorgels) that are not identified by name, but as "Street Organ." Use [a=Draaiorgel] instead where it appears like that on the release. A Dutch street organ (draaiorgel) is much larger than the conventional [a=Street Barrel Organ]. Equipped with multiple ranks of pipes and percussion, they play book music (thick perforated cardboard pages folded in book form) instead of perforated paper rolls and are often mounted on a trailer so that they can be pulled by a light truck, or they have their own engine on the front of the chassis. Originally, Dutch street organs were operated by turning a large handle that operated both the bellows/reservoir and the card-feed mechanism. Nowadays, most Dutch street organs have been converted to belt drive from a small battery powered motor or donkey engine. Many Dutch street organs have been recorded under their specific name, e.g., [a=Draaiorgel De Arabier], [a=Draaiorgel De Barometer], [a=Draaiorgel "De Cementmolen"], [a=Draaiorgel De Drie Pruiken], [a=Draaiorgel "Dubbeldik"], [a=Draaiorgel "De Kempenaer"], [a=Draaiorgel De Klok], [a=Draaiorgel "De Lekkerkerker"], [a=Draaiorgel "De Mandarijn"], [a=Draaiorgel De Pelikaan], [a=Draaiorgel "De Sater"], [a=Draaiorgel "De Sik"], [a=Draaiorgel De Turk], [a=Het Draaiorgel "De Veronica"], [a=Draaiorgel de Vijfbeelden], [a=Draaiorgel "De Waterpoorter"], [a=Draaiorgel "De Zeventiger"], [a=Gavioli Draaiorgel Jupiter].

Search | Add | 2 | Plástev | Plástev | This jazz quintet sprang into existence in exactly the same mysterious way as it melted away after 1987. At the beginning was the sound of an electrified bass clarinet which in the hands of Eduard Kuhn sounded differently than in classical music. This player appeared as a guest of the jazz-rock group Jazz Fragment, which brought him together with pianist Aleš Faix. And when the bass clarinet and the piano were joined by the flute, it laid the foundations of the group which began to call itself Plástev. The band finally formed and settled with Eduard Kuhn – bass clarinet and saxophone, Jiří Šilhán – flute, Aleš Faix – piano, Jan Střížovský – contrabass and Ivo Kalvínský – percussion. This way Plástev played in the jazz clubs Parnas and Reduta, shot its TV profile in The Musical Studio M and toured Germany and Italy. Each member at that time also performed with another band which weakened Plástev to the extent that it finally became silent. This continued up to the year 2011 when Aleš Faix invited his former playmates to his birthday party and asked them directly whether they would like to revive the band. It might have been thanks to their elevated mood that they agreed and began to occupy themselves with the resurrection of the band. The reconstruction of the original music required a whole year of practising, but several new pieces for the alto saxophone came into being during that time as well. Plástev recorded them in St. Lawrence's Concert Hall in Lesser Town of Prague with the help of the Steinway piano masterpiece. The album »Light at the Beginning of the Tunnel« is a cross-section of both the original and the new repertoire and Plástev disproves the thesis that »nothing improves with age«. After twenty-five years its members are more musically mature and they play with even greater vigour and enthusiasm than before. To refresh your memory, the album also contains two tracks of the Czech Radio from the 1980s – The East spiced with Indian tabla and the jazz-rock version of the Vervain. |

Search | Add | 2 | Southern Syncopaters | Swedish jazz band from Malmö founded 1987. They are trying to recreate Hot Jazz from the Roaring 20’s, which is a blend of very well written arrangements of popular songs and the spirit of jazz with improvised solos. The strategy has been to not directly copy old recordings, there is no chance to be as good as the original anyway, but by using exactly the same stock arrangements that was used by Coon-Sanders, Fletcher Henderson, King Oliver and many more. And just as they did, use their own arrangements as the foundation and then spice them with own solos, song choruses, and some joyful visual effects that unfortunately can’t be reproduced by an audio CD. It has been a long and tough work to get hold of these old original stock arrangements, but thanks to some contacts and tours to jazz festivals both in Sweden and even to the US, the collection of stock arrangements is now getting quite extensive.
