Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

By the end of 1998 we had released 3 more tapes, an EP, had grown to a 5-piece band, performed one shambolic gig, appeared on TV (on Channel 4's Under the Moon performing "Tartan Army", IHT's alternative song for Scotland's World Cup team), changed the name to "The Sluice Room Review" and split up. Steve had no musical influences and wrote songs purely for his own amusement. His audience was me and a few other friends to whom he'd hand out his self-dubbed tapes on his own Bring! Records. Later tapes were released on cassette-only labels Bacchanalian Revel and Low Voltage, and the "Subscribe!" EP on the even more obscure Umbababayee. But I don't believe they sold well, even by cassette label standards. Unencumbered by ambition, musical training or an audience, Steve was free to sing whatever was on his mind. And going by the songs, what was on his mind was: day time television, science fiction, UFOs (this was an era when crop circles were seriously debated), archaeology, the OJ Simpson trial, Scotland, surreal humour (how else to categorise "Rod Stewart and Emu"?) and, of course, girls. Steve was never very comfortable when the band started to grow or we talked of gigging or self-promotion. He was happiest scribbling his silly songs in his notebook and recording them in one take in his living room. Towards the end of '98 he disappeared and the band was no more. I heard a rumour that he'd moved abroad but I never got confirmation of this, and neither I nor any of our mutual friends have heard from him since. Wherever he is, at least we still have his music. The world of I Hail Taxis is one many will recognise; that of a twice-daily Neighbours watcher and dreamer who refuses to grow up. So put on your purple trousers, get the Etch-a-Sketch from the car, and get ready to do the freezing cold jig whilst listening to the World of I Hail Taxis! From the website.

Search Add 3 The Killing Floors Voted one of Music Connection Magazine's Top 100 Live Performers, The Killing Floors are a Los Angeles five-piece Rock’n'Roll ensemble formed over a shared love of 1960's music and Punk Rock. Since their inception, The Killing Floors have been cranking out infectious 60's-style bangers that fit perfectly next to the unearthed 60’s Garage Rock and Psych compilations. The music leaves no stone unturned, as the band switches from English to Spanish language and instrumental to lyrical songs, showcasing the diversity that is found not only in their musical compositions, but also in their talents. The Killing Floors' live events are phenomenally electrifying, as they are able to capture the audience within their net of pure and intense sonic ferocity. The music, the clothes, the hair, the attitude, the harmonies – all bleed genuineness– and are just but a few of the ingredients that form the very essence of what makes The Killing Floors such a powerhouse; each musician in the group being an integral cog to what is clearly a well-oiled brain-melting Rock’n'Roll machine.

Search Add 3 Tom Road A. Miguel Silva Tom Road is a persona of António Gomes (aka Miguel Silva). For a few years, I was playing music in a lot of places in Portugal, that's the motive I decide to use the surname Road (I'm on the Road to somewhere....). I have started learning music early in time, but it was only in the final part of adolescence that I was looked for music with more interest. First I was working as a musician at weddings and parties, then I found the pleasure to create original songs. Along with the other two musicians: Joel and Jorge we made a few original songs. Later, we split and when I was introduced to digital media I quickly install a home-studio to make my music and follow my dream. Since early 2012, my work has increased significantly. By the end of 2017, I have more than 3000 titles, only a few are available on this site. Sooner it will be added new titles on a more regular basis. The titles can listen to all the platforms and if you wish you can purchase them for your personal use in physical or digital format.

Search Add 3 Ninón Sevilla Emelia Pérez Castellanos Cuban-Mexican film actress and dancer. Born November 10, 1921 in La Habana, Havana, Cuba. Died January 1, 2015 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. Sevilla was active during the golden age of Mexican cinema. She was considered one of the greatest Cuban stars and the principal exponent of the Rumberas film. Sevilla adopted her stage name in tribute to the legendary French courtesan Ninon de Lenclos. As a youth, she felt the religious vocation, and thought about becoming a missionary nun, but after she started dancing with success in nightclubs and cabarets in Cuba, she opted for a career in show business. Later, she began working in the chorus of the Cuban comedians Mimí Cal (creator of “Nananina”) and Leopoldo Fernández (the famous “Tres Patines” of Cuban radio and television). Sevilla came to Mexico as part of a show starring Libertad Lamarque. Thanks to Sevilla and the musician Kiko Mendive, the musician Dámaso Pérez Prado also came to México and became the so-called “King of mambo”, a rhythm she helped to make popular. On one occasion, the producer Pedro Arturo Calderón saw Sevilla on stage and offered her a contract to work in the films. Her debut in cinema was in 1946 in Carita de Cielo with María Elena Marqués and Antonio Badú. From that moment, Sevilla became the exclusive star of Producciones Calderón. She had offers from studies such as the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Columbia Pictures, but she refused for not being interested in work in Hollywood. Though from the beginning she was marked by the eccentricity of her hairdos and gowns, filmmaker Alberto Gout established her as one of the erotic figures of Mexican cinema. Sevilla was consecrated by Gout’s legendary films Aventurera (1949), Sensualidad (1950), Mujeres sacrificadas (1952) and Aventura en Río (1953). Besides her films with Gout, Ninón also worked with Emilio Fernández “El Indio,” who directed her in one of the best films of their careers, the classic Víctimas del Pecado (1951); Julio Bracho in Llévame en tus brazos (1954); Gilberto Martinez Solares in Mulata (1954) and the comedy Club de Señoritas (1956); and Alfredo B. Crevenna in Yambaó (1956). In the musical Rumberas film Sevilla internationalized the icon of the rumbera like no other of her peers: she was the perfect archetype in several films, in which a “fallen woman” was dignified through dance. She staged the many choreographies of her films, and was the first performer to introduce movements from Santeria rituals in her dances and to recognize the influence of Afro-Caribbean culture in the plots. When she was on top, she had the biggest forums, spectacular sets, dazzling costumes, first-rate technicians and alternated with great figures of Latin American cinema as Joaquín Pardavé, Andrea Palma, Fernando Soler, Pedro Armendáriz, Anita Blanch, Agustín Lara, Domingo Soler, David Silva, Rita Montaner, Ramón Gay, Tito Junco, Andrés Soler, Roberto Cañedo, Fanny Kauffman, René Cardona, Pedro Vargas, Toña la Negra, the trio Los Panchos, Mendive & Perez Prado. By 1950, Sevilla had consolidated her sex symbol status and was a superstar. Her success led to her being recognized in countries like Brazil and France. In 1955, when he wrote about film, the future great French director François Truffaut made a review of Llévame en tus brazos, in which he wrote: “Is Ninón dancing for glory? No way, never. It is quite clear Ninón is dancing for pleasure!”. With the decline of the golden age of Mexican cinema, Sevilla retired from the industry, but returned in 1981 by the hand of Mario Hernández, who directed her the 1984 film Noche de Carnaval, for which she received the Silver Ariel Award for Best Actress of the Year. Sevilla debuted on television in 1965 with a small role in the soap opera Juicio de almas, produced by Ernesto Alonso. After the revival of her career, she was invited in 1987 to appear in the telenovela Rosa salvaje, alongside Verónica Castro. She was cast in numerous supporting roles in several telenovelas, as Qué bonito amor (2012). In 2014, Sevilla was the subject of a tribute from the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences and the Cineteca of Mexico for her career and influence in the Cinema of Mexico. Sevilla had an relationship for several years with film producer Pedro Arturo Calderón. Eventually she married Cuban doctor José Gil, but she widowed soon after. Later she had another relationship, which produced her only son, the musician Genaro Lozano.

Search Add 3 Graeme Williamson The late Canadian/Scottish singer, songwriter, published poet and author Graeme Williamson, was the voice and writer of the eclectic, whimsical and socio-political Pukka Orchestra, one of Canada's alternative indie darlings of the 1980's/90's 'Queen Street Scene'. In 1984 the Pukkas released their self-titled, critically acclaimed debut which included their national radio hit "Listen To The Radio" and fan favourites "Cherry Beach Express" and "Might As Well Be On Mars" - later covered by British group The Strawbs, both cowritten by Graeme. The Pukkas won the 1985 U-Know/CASBY Award as "Most Promising Group". Shortly after, while on holiday in Scotland, Graeme was diagnosed with kidney disease, underwent a transplant there but returned to Toronto so the Pukkas could record 1987's indie release Palace of Memory. In 1992 they released their final album Dear Harry. Graeme, facing more health issues, subsequently left for Scotland permanently in the early 1990s. Up until his death in June 2020, Graeme continued writing/recording new songs, many featured on this his posthumous 2022 solo album "Because You Were There". Neil Chapman (Buffy Ste. Marie/Leonard Cohen), the co-founder of the Pukka Orchestra with Graeme, took over the producer reins and spent 2020 and 2021 finishing the album.

The magical music he creates falls undoubtedly into the categories of the intelligent techno, tech-house and ambient. Unless in the music and visions for his performances, Victor was also involved in composing of theatre and film music. One of his most prominent projects was in 2002 when he was invited in Berlin with “Vataff” by the advertisement company “Triggerhapptproductions”. He has been working there under a project with the director Zoran Bichach and the camera man Robbi Mueller (who used to work closely with Wim Wenders on many of his movies). Victor has been participating in different international musical events and appeared on many stages worldwide as a DJ & live act. Victor has various projects in creating and experimenting with the electronic musical sound and therefore, any attempt to describe or explain the essence of his music would be rather incomplete without listening to and directly experiencing it.

Search Add 3 Bluegrass Reunion Red Allen gave me my first job as a record producer ("Red Allen and Frank Wakefield" Folkways FA2408) in 1963 and my first job as a bluegrass mandolin player in 1965. In 1967, Herb Pedersen and I played together in the "Smoky Grass Boys," a short-lived California aggregation, and later on in "Here Today" with Jim Buchanan. Herb and Red found themselves in Nashville subbing for Scruggs and Flatt in the late 60s, and in 1973, Garcia and I joined forces in "Old & In The Way." Jim Buchanan joined my quintet in the early '80's, as did Jim Kerwin who also plays in the Garcia/Grisman band. Although this group is one which never played together previously, it felt like a reunion of kindred spirits... a Bluegrass Reunion. ~David Grisman, December 1991
