Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 Gesner Henry Jean Gesner Henry Haitian singer and band leader (b. May 10, 1925-d. Jan. 29, 1998). Better known as [a=Coupé Cloué]. Gesner Henry was born on May 10th, 1925 in the village of Fonbwa in the commune of Leogane in Haiti. At nine years old, he moved to Port Au Prince, the nation’s capital where he went to school at Chez Laroche located at Rue Du Centre. Later, he joined the “Centre Des Arts et Metiers”, a school that specialized in the formation of young children by teaching them several trades including music. Gesner Henry learned cabinetry and for his music lessons he learned to play the trumpet his first instrument. As he became older, he grew a passion for soccer. A talented player, he started playing with the club “Estad Haitien” and soon after, with the club Hatuey Bacardi. Then at the age of twenty-five, started playing in tournaments organized by the Haitian Soccer Federation. His dreams became reality when together with Michel Blain, Edner Bataille and Marc Elie, he founded the soccer team “Aigle Noir Athletic Club”. On the field, he was hard to compete against as he developed a style that impressed not only his teammates, but also everyone who had the chance to watch him play. Jean Gesner Henry had the ability to cut (Coupe) the velocity of the speedy ball and reduce it to a full stop, and nail it (Cloue) with a super kick right back to the other side. Each time he made this soccer stunt he used his cabinetry jargon Coupé Cloué to describe it. Soon his teammates and other players started to call him Coupé Cloué and the name stuck. It’s also during that time that he started to sing and play the guitar, usually before important games and during team curfew. Despite his talent as a soccer star, Coupé Cloué moved on to playing music but this time as a guitarist jamming and entertaining his friends and local businessman with some members of the band Trio Crystal composed of Georges Celestin, Rene Delva and Andre Serant. By 1956, Gesner Henry devoted himself completely to music. Upon his initiative, the group “Trio Select” was created on September 6, 1957 playing the style of Canjo, the father of the Twoubadou style of music in Haiti. Using his enthusiasm and connections, he started to promote the group to radio stations in Port Au Prince notably Radio Caraibes, Radio Quisqueya, Radio MBC, Radio Cacique and Radio Haiti. The Trio surprised the crowd of the famous venue Theatre De Verdure at their first live performance as they were the opening act for Haiti’s most popular band of the 1950s, Jazz Des Jeunes. After the show, they became the talk of the town. All the top radio stations and others were after the artist for interviews and recordings. In 1958, Trio Select released their first album with producer Marc Duverger. One can not talk of the beginning of Trio Select without talking about talentuous guitarist Bellerive Decelian who spent more than twenty years in the group before leaving us in the late 80’s. He was considered one of the best guitarist in Haiti at the time. Up to then, the guitar as an instrument has not integrated the main stream in all the major bands of the time. He and Trio Select were among the first to use the guitar as a lead instrument preceding by a few years the new wave of groups in the early 60s known as Mini Jazz. The Trio Select soon gained momentum in the early 1960s as it got a regular Friday night show at Cric Crac Ciné as well as many gigs at the Club Bamboche both venues located in Port Au Prince. Afterwards, Trio Select started playing at the Citadelle Garden then, they went on to play at Week End Paradis where they started to get a huge following. By the late 1960s, the singer Luc Raphael Benito from the group L’Etoile Du Soir joined the group. It’s also around the same time that songs like “Juge”, “Plen Kay”, “Chada”, “Kilibwa”, “Kribiche”, “Kousi Kousa”, “Deux Pigeons”, “Saint Antoine”, “Bambou” and “Socis” among others started to hit the air waves. One of his first hit “Juge” was censored by the government. The song was then remake cleverly by Coupé Cloué under the name of “Ti Sourit”. The voice of Coupé Cloué became one of the most recognizable of the airwaves even with the evolution of the Mini Jazz movement. As Trio Select was getting more shows playing with other popular bands with heavier sound, Coupé decided to introduce more sophisticated and amplified instruments in his group. In 1973, at the club L’Anolis Vert located in Thomassin, Trio Select changes its name and became “L’Ensemble Select”. This decision was one of the best by the entrepreneur as the introduction of talented musician like Prosper Saint Louis on bass, Jean Rene Petion on Bongo, and Colbert Desir on congas contributed greatly to his early success. In March 1974, after returning from a tour in the U.S., the group added other talented musicians such as singer Edner Salomon “Ti Blanc”, guitarist Rigal Jean Baptiste from the group Super Choucoune 70, guitarist Moise Jean, conga player Serge Bernard “Ti Aigle” and drummer Ernst Louis “Ti Nes” who took the band to another level. The new group revamped songs like “Saint Antoine”, “Yeye”, and “Chanm Gason” by adding some jokes to them like Gerard Dupervil did previously in the song “Cout Lang” of Jazz des Jeunes. In 1974, the carnival song “Men Rat La” was an instant success on the float of the flour company “Minoterie”. By using that template, Coupé Cloué, with his unique style of telling jokes accompanied by his new found rhythm based on the work of the bongos and congas combination, quickly got the attention of the public. By the mid 1970, Ensemble Select of Coupé Cloué became the band of choice of people visiting the country from abroad. They got a contract to perform on a regular basis at “Le Lambi Nightclub”, which is one of the most popular venues in the south side of the nation capital Port-Au- Prince. At the end of 1976 Assade Francoeur, one of the top singers and composers from the group Super 9, joined the band. His enormous contribution was going to take the band to his apogee with super hit songs like “Myan Myan” and “Fanm Kolokinte”. The voice of Assade Francoeur on the airwaves as the new lead singer of the band, playing next to Coupé Cloué created a new wave of young fans following the band. While most people knew of Coupé Cloué as a controversial singer who often used harsh words to describe the reality of the country, like in the song “Shada”, and sometimes hidden profanity (Like in his songs “Map Di” and “Juge”), or not quite hidden like in the song “Sociss”, Assade’s contribution, 44 songs in total, to the band was quite different as he came up with more ballades, like the song “Marie Jocelyne”, which he wrote for his wife. Bass player Daniel Dalce “Ti Bass” also contributed significantly to the band’s repertoire and originality. The news of the band attracting so many followers and the selling of many albums outside of Haiti got the attention of show producers around the globe. By the late 70’s the band was already playing in many countries outside of Haiti. By the early 1980s the band went to several cities in North America, many countries in the Caribbean and in France. In December 1979, for the first time, the band went as far as Africa. They got the best welcome in Ivory Coast where Coupé Cloué was received with honor like world dignitaries. While many bands were influenced by the sound of the new wave of French Caribbean bands by adding a live horn section to their line up, Coupé Cloué kept his originality and even was the champion of the 1980s Haiti’s Carnival Parade with the song “Roi Coupe” (King Coupe), a title he kept for the rest of his life. By the end of the 1980s Coupé Cloué had so many hit songs in his repertoire that it would have been hard for any radio announcer to do a show in which they would be able to satisfy all the requests of the listeners as songs like “Fanm Kolokinte”, “Madan Marcel”, “Sa Depan”, “Tu Peux Mettre”, “Azoukenken”, “A Ki Kle” and many others, were super hits that were the choices of so many people in the Haitian music world. In the early 1990s, despite the changes happening in the Haitian music scene, and the introduction of the digital bands getting most of the contracts, Coupé Cloué still kept his originality and was still one of the busiest bands in the market. However, by the mid 1990s the death of some of his musicians and the departure of others who decided to leave the country to reside elsewhere often in the U.S. took a toll on the king. The band was mostly performing his former hits and was not coming up with new hits except for the song “Donki” taken from the album “Sa Ki Pou Ou” released in 1993 under the label Melodie Makers. Under the guidance of Jeff Wainwright and Ernst Louis, this album was recorded partly using the new technology of computer sequencing. “Donki” was arranged by Dadou Pasquet & Laurent Ciceron. The same year they filmed the Legend only video “Donki” in which some people were able to see images of an aging Coupé Cloué. In the years that followed, he was even absent at some of the live performances and had also stopped performing outside of the country as he became ill and too old for the night performances in the demanding Haitian music industry. In 1997 he was invited to the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York where the producer of Haiti Focus presented him with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Also in Haiti, he was later honored by his fellow musicians, the media and the public in general at a ceremony which was televised nationwide. Coupé Cloué one of the most popular Haitian artists of all the time died on January 29, 1998 leaving behind many memories, many hit songs and a style of music called the Kompa Manba that is even now being played by many bands around the globe. Coupé Cloué is today the best known artist from Haiti. From humble beginnings, with his talent and creativity, Coupé Cloué applied himself to spreading his unique style of music “Kompa Mamba” to many parts of the world. It is no surprise that Coupé Cloué now enjoys an icon-like status. Coupé Cloué never wrote a bad song. He was a musical prophet. Forty Years in the Music industry has taken him all over the world.

Search Add 3 THE RATA Minimal Techno Art Expressionist DJ and producer of electronic and dance floor music, based in Tokyo, and active in Asia's electronic music scene since the early 90s. Once an avid collector of vinyl, he began producing tracks in the mid-90s. A lover of the underground scene, he mixes minimalist and hypnotic techno music in stoic and technical ways, creating new grooves and manipulating floors and spaces with endless precision. Currently, he heads the underground techno music label "3000" and the experimental techno community "evangelists", which holds events at various clubs and outdoor venues in Japan and abroad. Their aim: to bring together DJs and artists active in the underground scene, mainly from Asian countries, to collaborate and produce works of art that will make their presence known throughout the planet. Their recent tours in Bangkok and Korea garnered acclaim, with a successful return to Seoul and Busan in 2023-24, amplifying "evangelists" across the Asian underground scene.

Search Add 3 Dutch Cove Old Time String Band The Dutch Cove String Band, part of the Appalachian family string band tradition, is named after their home valley near Canton, North Carolina. Their family fiddling roots stretch back to Turner Smathers, who was a well known musician until his death in the mid-1800s. His nephew, Hack Timmons, and another relative, Aldie Winfield Smathers, were successful fiddlers in their own right. Quay Smathers (1913-1993) played with the popular Smather's Family Band (apparently no relation) in the 1930s and early 1940s. In 1973, Quay and his daughters—June, Cynthia and Liz—formed the Dutch Cove String Band. Liz's husband, Lynn Shaw, and June's husband, Zeb Jolley, also played with the band over its 20-year history. Quay Smathers received a N.C. Folk Heritage Award in 1991 and the band performed for a final time in 1993 at Carowinds, when the Charlotte Folk Music Society honored the band and gave an award to Quay for his preservation of traditional folk music

Search Add 3 Shrink Trip Shrink Trip was formed at Drew University in Madison, NJ, circa 1989, originally by drummer Bob Joyal, guitarist Andrew Hurford and guitarist/vocalist Marc Beschler. Taking their cue from a variety of musical sources, most predominantly Camper Van Beethoven and the Butthole Surfers, with occasional forays into Bad Religion-style hardcore, Shrink Trip wanted to play a kind of psychedelic punk rock that would appeal to their mixed crowd of friends, which included punks, hippies, and plenty of in-betweens, as well as reflect their interest in, shall we say, alternate states of mind. The original line-up was filled out by Nick Boyle on bass. In 1990, Boyle was replaced by Mike Thomas, who added a funky dimension with his bass work reminiscent of Fishbone and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. This line-up recorded the 'Puce-Colored Glasses' demo. For a while, they enjoyed being part of a mini-scene concentrated at Drew University, with several different on-campus bands playing joint shows at the university's coffee house The Other End and at outdoor seasonal events. Thomas subsequently left and was replaced by Jeff DeSmedt, a veteran of the multi-faceted band Roadside Myth. Not long after this, Beschler switched to concentrating purely on vocals, with Peter Bonnell of fellow Drew band Skeevy Jeets joining as the second guitarist. This quintet recorded the 'All-Purpose Creamy Head' demo, which included the song 'Curse,' a track composed by all five members that reflected their then-intense love for Fugazi. Founding member Hurford left the band a while later, to be replaced by Jason Johnson on guitar. This line-up recorded the 1993 'The 'O' Single' for Oculus records, with Bonnell deciding that it would be his last effort with the band. A while after this, another founding member, Joyal, also went on to other things and was replaced by long-time friend of the band Django Phillips, who had also done the graphic design for 'The 'O' Single.' This line-up of Beschler (vocals/guitar), DeSmedt (bass), Johnson (guitar) and Phillips (drums) played gigs in New York and New Jersey for a time before ultimately going their separate ways. DeSmedt went back to working on Roadside Myth, recording a full-length CD album, 'Surreal Woman and Other Songs,' in 1995 that included appearances by Johnson, Joyal, Phillips and Beschler. Johnson went on to spearhead the jazz rock project Fern Hill, and Beschler and Phillips joined up with Jennifer Werner and Dominick Nervi to form the mid-'90s stoner-punk-metal outfit [a=Nancy Sumatra] (originally called Guttersnipe).

Search Add 3 Tekla Goldman Tekla Goldman is a musical return to youthful verve, without paying attention to current trends and fashions. The "Musicians" claim that the lack of skills in playing the instruments is no obstacle for them, only energy counts! Unbridled emotions turn into a noisy garage-punk mixture, full of a psychedelic alternative-rock sauce. Although the percussion parts do not go beyond one trance and uncomplicated rhythm, and a set of two or three chords builds all the songs, the real temperament is revealed in dirty and aggressive vocals sung for two voices. The band has now released their first EP in the Lo-fi sound formula and the do-it-yourself technique, using primitive microphones and amplifiers from the communist era. Members: Emily - voice, piano Jedrula - voice, guitar Janek - bass Łabek - drums

Search Add 3 Rico Repotente “We are rodents roasting in his hands. Rico Repotente was born in Manila on the 22 July, 1974 but has spent most of his life in Germany. He has been living, enriching the lives of his friends and family, and completing constellations of a wide variety of bands in Berlin for many years. Without his guitar, he often seems to be as bored as a teenager visiting historical sights with his grandparents or a disinterested pretty kitty looking wistfully out of a window. When he’s got his instrument in his hands he remains feline and slightly aloof, yet no longer the lazy house cat we imagined him to be. We see a flash of a grin, eyes narrowing in anticipation, and a slight leaning back on his feet as his agile hands begin sliding, strumming, crouching, and springing across his strings….drawing us nearer and nearer. Then, he opens his mouth and lets out his perfectly pitched purr, and crowds step forward like sacrificial mice.“ -Amelia Seymour “Neil Young mixed with Jimi Hendrix and a touch of Neil Sedaka” -Sean Reynard “Several early listeners to “Dust on the Halo” (Goldrausch Records), the new album by the multifarious, long-time Berlin guitarist/singer/songwriter Rico Repotente, have noted that it reminds them more than a little of Prince. These people are probably idiots. While it is true that both the 38 year-old Repotente and His Purple Majesty share a particular fondness not just for the axework of Jimi Hendrix, but also the louche offhandedness of his delivery, Repotente — whose multiple ensembles in an endless number of genres, from free improv to an early, aborted stint with Seeed, are too numerous to elucidate here — specifically eschews any Hendrixian guitar influence on the new record (with the exception of the closer “You’ll Never Want Me,” which also lightly references Pink Floyd’ “Wish You Were Here”), preferring to reflect upon a similar set of roots to those that Hendrix looked to. And “back to the roots” is a natural way to put it, for if any comparison to a Sixties legend can be made, it’s to the utterly influential, low-sales Canadian pastoralists The Band, who’s rejection of psychedelic values during the peak LSD season can be mirrored in Repotente’s avoidance of both Berlin technopop (a genre he explored in his Ochosa project in 2005) and a disregard of the blues clichés that came increasingly into fashion during the last decade, thanks to a popular candy-colored duo. “It’s blues rock, but you can’t say that it’s blues rock,” sighs Repotente. “Because most people in Berlin just think you’re going to imitate the White Stripes. I don’t only like blues, but I think that it’s the roots of emotion in music — the purest form — and you just go on from there.” But, it might be added, these roots are not actually Repotente’s own, and the entirety of “Dust on the Halo” might be considered a postmodern pastiche of a previous generation’s attempt at the refusal of modernity. It’s nostalgic for a purer form of nostalgia, though the emotion at its laid back heart remains deeply felt. Accompanied by several compatriots sympathetic to his repudiation of current values, such as the Berlin-based singers Miss Kenichi (on the charming lope of “Windbreaker”) and Jelena Kuljic (on languid, country-tinged ode to great sportsmen now playing out the string, “10,000 Eyes”), one hears that even on the tracks which showcase Repotente’s experimental jazz side, such as “Snoestorm,” with it’s Sharrock-ian modalism, his comrades — in this case Christopher Cantillo and his rock bashing — bury Repotente’s feet back into the Earth. In fact, a lot of the more lyrical and abstract explorations actually find their origins in genres as populist in their day as surf and garage rock. Repotente sums it up. “Even when I’m playing experimental jazz — well, I don’t put on a jazz hat or a blues hat — I just try to write play and sing with that initial, primitive joy found in Muddy Waters, Hound Dog Taylor, and Lightnin’ Hopkins. The blues are, you know, in fact, really funny.” -Rosie Geisler

Search Add 3 She Shinjuku She Shinjuku A 90’s child with a micro-chip on her shoulder. Escaper of death and stereotypes. Toured the world in a rock band. Leading role in a Flume video. Run over by a ten tonne truck scratch free and the motorbike died. Found salvation in electronica with the jilted generation. Lover of space and dimensional travel. Frequenter of the future. 6 out of 9 lives left. Don’t ask questions but you can come if you want to. Go to Spotify or Itunes and have a listen to this incredible EP produced by Prodigy long time producer Neil McLellan and to what could very well be one of those hidden gems that will be part of your music collection for years to come. She Shinjuku was the brain child of KJ from Sydney band The Art , due to many circumstances the concept band never moved passed this EP, however Golden Robot Records was proud to be involved , not every project goes beyond certain stages but for us its about supporting Australian musicians in there quest for exploration of musical ideas and She Shinjuku was one of those. She Shinjuku is one of the best bands and EP’s you will hear and its as fresh today in 2020 as it was when it was recorded. (Official Site Promo).

Search Add 3 Lucia Farinati Lucia Farinati (Italy/UK) is an independent curator and researcher based in London. She studied on the Curatorial Programme at Goldsmiths College (2004), London, Public Art and European Cultural Planning at De Montfort University, Leicester (2000) and History of Art and Aesthetics at the Faculty of Humanities, University of Trento (Italy) (1997). Her practice is informed by an interdisciplinary approach to working and collaborating with artists and by a production-oriented mode to framing contemporary art and curatorial practices. Her research is focused on the relationship between contemporary art and the public sphere, and listening at the intersection between sonic art and activism. Current projects include Come una possibilità di incontro, a series of collective readings of the book Autoritratto by art historian and feminist Carla Lonzi, produced for bip bop, a project by Rita Correddu and Elena Biserna, for Radio Fujiko (June 2013) and Ascoltando Camminando, a sound walk based workshop in collaboration with Brave New Alps for the Festival Futuro Presente, Rovereto, (June 2013). In 2012 she curated Nuovi Paesaggi - Sound Stories from Tuscany, five works conceived and produced for radio that narrate a territory and its cultural geography by Viv Corringham, Mikhail Karikis, Laura Malacart, Davide Tidoni & Allen S. Weiss, produced by Radio Papesse and Villa Romana, Florence, Summer 2012 Between 2002 and 2007 she curated many exhibitions in museums and art spaces in Italy and in the UK, including Framing Devices (Paola di Bello, Margherita Morgantin, Camila Sposati), The Agency, London; Tales of The City (co-curator) (Abigail Reynolds, Carey Young, Nils Norman, Zineb Sedira et al.), Arte Fiera, Bologna; Beating About the Bush (cocurator) (Peter Coffin, Gabriel Kuri, Hannah Rickard, William Speakman, Mark Aerial Waller et al.), South London Gallery; Rip it up and start again (Dan Davis, Richard T. Walker, William Hunt), Villa delle Rose, Bologna; Ursula Mayer, Monitor, Rome; Institution of Rot (curator of events by 16 Beaver and the Bohman Brothers among others). With the support of Arts Council England she initiated and co-produced two long term crossdisciplinary projects that investigated the social and urban regeneration of East London: We Sell Boxes, We Buy Gold (2007) a series of urban walks and field recordings made in collaboration with Jude Rosen, Alberto Duman, Louise Garrett and Richard Crow, London, which was recently presented as part of Sound Proof 5, London (August 2012); and Found Wanting (2003), a night bus tour in collaboration with the collective e-Xplo (Rene Gabri, Heimo Lattner, Erin McGonigle). She has been collaborating with the artist William Furlong since 2005, initially as an interviewer for Audio Arts magazine (interviews with artists Tino Sehgal, Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, Carl von Hausswolff and Leif Elggren, and Manuela Ribadeneira, 2005-2007) and subsequently as a curator. Through a series of site-specific exhibitions she investigated Audio Arts as an active arc hive. The exhibitions include: Speaking to Others: Who Speaks to Who, Villa Romana, Florence, 2013; Not Speaking the Language, Flat Time House, London, 2010; Hearing Me Hearing You, Plymouth Arts Centre, Plymouth, 2007; Extraction/ Construction/Abstraction, Sound Art Museum/Radio Arte Mobile, Rome 2006. In 2006 she organized and chaired the Symposium Active Archive at the British School at Rome, with William Furlong, the art critic Mel Gooding, music journalist Daniela Cascella, and curator Lorenzo Benedetti. The outcome of this research was recently presented at the symposium Off the Record: The history and legacy of Audio Arts Magazine on contemporary art, Tate Britain, 13 October 2012. Search Add 3 El Gaitero de Libardón Ramón García Tuero Arroes (Asturias), June 6, 1864-Libardón (Asturias), October 21, 1932. Singer, musician and composer. Of humble rural origin, as a child showed considerable musical skills. Fame came soon, thanks to singing with a booming voice and, simultaneously, accompanied in a virtuous way with the bagpipe or the harmonium, getting to compose a repertoire of its own that is part of the musical heritage of Asturias and other territories. Thanks to that artistic multiplicity and its charismatic character, popular esteem was easily gained and, later, the poster of renowned artistic spaces. Dignified and made known outside Spain traditional Asturian music, as a pioneer in transcending beyond its borders through tours, recordings or radio performances at the dawn of the twentieth century. In 1889 an industrial firm took him to the Universal Exposition in Paris, on his first trip abroad, which gave him an important boost. The following year, he settled for marriage in the town of Libardón, from where the artistic name comes with which he passed to posterity. In 1900 he traveled again to Paris led by a brand of Asturian cider, to participate in the Universal Exhibition whose symbol was the Eiffel Tower. The success there obtained that the jury of the contest granted him the Medal of Merit, one of the many awards that he would receive in his career, as the one later imposed by King Alfonso XIII. In turn, the piper composed a song for the Prince of Asturias and was also received in audience by Queen Mother Maria Cristina and General Primo de Rivera. Its artistic apogee covered the first three decades of the twentieth century, with performances throughout the national territory that announced the "laureate and famous piper", according to the programs of the time. Later, he began his journey abroad, sponsored by the thriving Asturian industry of accordion cider and later on tournees on his own. In Europe he traveled through Italy, France, Germany and England and, in 1907, he arrived for the first time in America, where, until 1918 and in several trips from Spain, he traveled from the south of the United States to Argentina. In Cuba he coincided with Enrico Caruso (1873-1921), perceiving the same cachet as the famous Neapolitan tenor. In 1911 he attended the International Exhibition of Buenos Aires. He signed an international contract there with a New York firm to make recordings, an activity that began in 1909 in Spain, and that continued in successive years for several phonographic brands in Spanish and European studios. After attending the Barcelona International Exposition of 1929, his last sounded appearance was made that same year at the Ibero-American Exposition in Seville, shortly before his death that had great public repercussion. Since then, tributes are regularly held in his memory. Thus, in 2001, he was designated as one of the "20 Asturians of the 20th Century" in a popular contest organized through the Internet by the newspaper El Comercio in Gijón .
