Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 El Gaitero de Libardón Ramón García Tuero Arroes (Asturias), June 6, 1864-Libardón (Asturias), October 21, 1932. Singer, musician and composer. Of humble rural origin, as a child showed considerable musical skills. Fame came soon, thanks to singing with a booming voice and, simultaneously, accompanied in a virtuous way with the bagpipe or the harmonium, getting to compose a repertoire of its own that is part of the musical heritage of Asturias and other territories. Thanks to that artistic multiplicity and its charismatic character, popular esteem was easily gained and, later, the poster of renowned artistic spaces. Dignified and made known outside Spain traditional Asturian music, as a pioneer in transcending beyond its borders through tours, recordings or radio performances at the dawn of the twentieth century. In 1889 an industrial firm took him to the Universal Exposition in Paris, on his first trip abroad, which gave him an important boost. The following year, he settled for marriage in the town of Libardón, from where the artistic name comes with which he passed to posterity. In 1900 he traveled again to Paris led by a brand of Asturian cider, to participate in the Universal Exhibition whose symbol was the Eiffel Tower. The success there obtained that the jury of the contest granted him the Medal of Merit, one of the many awards that he would receive in his career, as the one later imposed by King Alfonso XIII. In turn, the piper composed a song for the Prince of Asturias and was also received in audience by Queen Mother Maria Cristina and General Primo de Rivera. Its artistic apogee covered the first three decades of the twentieth century, with performances throughout the national territory that announced the "laureate and famous piper", according to the programs of the time. Later, he began his journey abroad, sponsored by the thriving Asturian industry of accordion cider and later on tournees on his own. In Europe he traveled through Italy, France, Germany and England and, in 1907, he arrived for the first time in America, where, until 1918 and in several trips from Spain, he traveled from the south of the United States to Argentina. In Cuba he coincided with Enrico Caruso (1873-1921), perceiving the same cachet as the famous Neapolitan tenor. In 1911 he attended the International Exhibition of Buenos Aires. He signed an international contract there with a New York firm to make recordings, an activity that began in 1909 in Spain, and that continued in successive years for several phonographic brands in Spanish and European studios. After attending the Barcelona International Exposition of 1929, his last sounded appearance was made that same year at the Ibero-American Exposition in Seville, shortly before his death that had great public repercussion. Since then, tributes are regularly held in his memory. Thus, in 2001, he was designated as one of the "20 Asturians of the 20th Century" in a popular contest organized through the Internet by the newspaper El Comercio in Gijón .

Search Add 3 Stuart Gasston Singer from Sooth Shields, England who is partner of Nancy Hogg, [a2895576]'s Grandmother. The first thing he ever did,at 17, apart from shows at the Pier Pavilion, was when he was seen by Tony Martell, who offered him a spot on Golden Disc, which was a talent show from Tyne Tees Television. It was the launchpad for Stuart’s career, which saw him rub shoulders with the likes of [a57619] and [a480439]. Eventually, he was picked up by the Bailey organisation, which had The Latino nightclub, in South Shields. They had the biggest chain of nightclubs in the country. They took him on, became his management, and he did all their circuit. H worked with a lot of people such as [a16748] and [a254136], they had a very similar style. Following his success on the nightclub circuit in this country, Stuart started doing shows all over the world. Then he got involved with the cruise ships. The cabaret scene had died off a little, and he was offered work on the QE 2.

Search Add 3 Bafdan Fabián Badano Project started in the end of 2016 dedicated to production of music from a mobile phone. Fabrecord exist since 1999 as a vague idea but was in 2003 that started to grow a little more serious, in 2006 there was a jump in the progress with the introduction of a PC with some software the project isn't serious yet. Searching in google for name validation i was aware that the name "fabrecord" already taken somewhere by somebody, so, i change the name to Fab-Rec or FaB-Rec in 2007, in 2008 i added "FaB" as a pseudonym for the same reason described abode and the same time, got a hardware upgrade to another level (from Pentium II to a Modern AMD processor more than enough for the music software used back then). In 2009 introduced "Fabianrec" and subsequently created a soundcloud account that is still today online. Face beta, that was in 2010, from some self thoughts about the how much last for "make some musically descent work", so the word "Beta" stands that the works has bugs in it, so the music made also contains "errors" those "errors" are a subjective perspective, so the β letter went included in consecutive names variations on the following years; Faβ in 2012, Faβian 2013, FacBeta on 2015 to 2017. In 2017 was the absolute depression. In that year, started a new project based on a mobile app called nanoloop under the alias Bafdan that was the mobile name back then, focused on minimalism and the whole production with no other additional post processing more than some basic mastering (very basic). On 2020 there were some "comebacks" under the old "Fabrecord" as artist alias, more mature and with wisdom in productions. On the current times, Fabrecord label host all those pseudonims and its albums and/or EP's along with the newest productions in the works. Also uses various pseudonims such as Fabrecord, Fab-Rec, Fabianrec, FaB, Faβian, Faβ, FacBeta, Bafdan

Search Add 3 Keef Storm Keith Robinson Glasgow rave pioneer and leader of Desert Storm Soundsystem. HE was a mixed-race Celtic fan credited with founding the rave movement in Glasgow during the early 1990s. Keith Robinson was a leading member of the Desert Storm Soundsystem – a group of larger than life characters who organised free (and usually illegal) parties across the UK and Europe. Affectionately known as 'Keef', he led the charge as Desert Storm famously brought their beats to Bosnia as humanitarian relief during the Balkans conflict. At one party the front-line was a mere 10km away - they were asked to turn off their lights in case they attracted enemy fire. The group eventually becoming a significant pillar of the Teknival movement. After decades of championing the resistance against night-time curfews, a heavy-hearted post appeared on Desert Storm’s Facebook page announcing Keith’s death. The 48-year-old was said to have died taking his own life in the River Thames on September 18 last year. Desert Storm posted: “Tragically Keith Robinson ended his extraordinary and wonderful life in the River Thames on the afternoon of Sunday 18th September, apparently by choice. “His loving family needs time and space to grieve and come to terms with such a terrible and unexpected event. “They ask his many friends to share their sorrow and be patient for news until the circumstances have been better understood. The full account and funeral arrangements will be posted here as soon as possible. X” An inquest into his death will be held today at Poplar Coroner’s Court in London. Life of 'Keef' Albeit under a cloud of grief, Desert Storm celebrate 25 official years together this year. Their first rave – and Glasgow’s first illegal rave – is said to have taken place around 1991 in a disused warehouse near the docks. They said the event “was a great success with hundreds of people enjoying music late into the morning hours”. People were charged for entry, but “after some major trouble with local gangsters trying to control the door”, future events were made free. Followers will remember their continued defiance of the Conservative government’s legislative crackdown on raves, free parties and festivals throughout that decade. Acid house parties became the target of political repression in the early 90s, often taking residence in venues far away from residential areas such as squatted warehouses, empty military bases, beaches, forests or fields. This culminated in the 1994 the Criminal Justice Bill which outlawed such events, giving police new powers to stop them and seize equipment. The sound system delivered the soundtrack to a massive protest in London’s Trafalgar Square, which saw 10,000 people attend. During this event Desert Storm were approached by a member of Workers Aid for Bosnia, who asked if they would host a New Year’s Eve “morale boosting gig” in the war zone. Putting their own lives at risk they agreed, and set off that December with five aid convoy trucks, actually crossing the frontline as they travelled to Tuzla. The eventually arrived safely. During the gig itself, local police allowed the music to continue provided the lights were turned off, with soldiers dancing alongside local until the small hours. In a documentary tracking a journey to Sarajevo, Robinson said: “We don’t think that music is a luxury. We think it’s an essential. Yet it’s always one of the first casualties of war.” After Keith’s death, heartbroken tributes poured in for the resilient raver.

For most of the 1970s and 1980s New Zealand-born Leo De Castro was one of the best singers working in Australia. Leo was a permanent fixture on the pub/concert/festival circuit and was praised for his astonishingly soulful vocal abilities. The redoubtable singer was always able to surround himself with musicians of quality and distinction. Unfortunately he was under-recorded and this collection is the first legitimate attempt to anthologise the work of this great performer. The breadth and depth of the material that he did record proves categorically he was a contender for extensive commercial success. The reasons for a lack of widespread success are many and varied – it’s not our purposes here to debate or investigate the reasons fully – suffice to say that at least we can be grateful for the fact that he was such a force of nature as a performer. Particularly gratifying is being able to hear the live material (much of it previously unreleased) delivered by Friends circa 1972 and 1973. (Ian McFarlane)

Early-Mid : Fast-paced punk with Typhus influences musically and lyrically. Later : New wavey punk rock. Generic sound. (Different vocalist) (Review by Brave New World) "Talgevo - Live at Explosion 8'' flexi Explosion Records - RO701 - May 1985 What can i say about this one ? Inessential but a rare find, pretty obscure record. Talgevo played upbeat Japanese punk-rock, which could be compared to a poppier version of The Stalin, for example... This is a live recording taken from the soundboard which does really well to capture the energy of the band, who might have sucked with a cleaner but mediocre studio recording. Here, the sound quality is pretty good, from the recording itself to the vinyl mastering, the work was done by passionate and dedicated professionals . Rock House Explosion was a "live house", a venue for punk, rock and metal bands, and also a record label. According to the catalog numbers, it seems they had produced many many different records during the 80's."
