Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 The Lazy Eggs Formed in Detroit by Tom Carson, the band began as TC and the Good Guys -- along with guitarist Gary Praeg, drummer/keyboardist Sam Moceri, bassist Clem Riccobono, and guitarist Tom Pointe, and drummer Bob Krause among its members. Ron Koss -- who recorded with Wilson Pickett, Merv Johnson, and Hank Ballard -- was a brief member. Tom Carson, along with former Lazy Eggs’ Clem Riccobono and Sam Moceri, founded Detroit’s Fiddlers Music in 1970. Dealing in instrument sales and rentals, as well as recording and releasing private press singles and albums, Fiddlers closed its doors in 1980. Gary Praeg founded his own facility, Cloudborn Studios, in the mid-’70s and recorded light-rock and jazz-influenced albums as Shivers and Dove Grey. Ron Koss’s next band, the heavier Savage Grace, reached the U.S. Billboard Top 200 in 1970 with the single “Come on Down” issued on the Reprise label. The Fiddlers label/studios hosted many session during its 10 year tenure: one of those bands was the Happy Dragon projected fronted by Tommy Court, who designed Fiddlers recording studios. Tom Carson appeared as a studio musician on many of those recordings.

He started his music career in early 2017 but it didn't take too long for him becoming a household name in this sub-genre due to his love, work, effort and dedication on the HardTechno scene. He discovered his true love for music when he started to go to all kinds of electronic music events but clearly HardTechno was the what sealed his heart. His style is based and inspired on artists such as [a=Instigator (4)], [a=Malke], Nobody, [a=Withecker] and a few others... You can always find a little bit of hardcore in many of his tracks too.

Search Add 3 The Original Bullshit Band TOBB is a Norwegian band consisting of first-call musicians working as freelancers in tv and the recording industry. TOBB was started as a playing ground for friends, all with the love for AOR-west coast music, and has since 1987 been touring on and off, mostly playing their own cover versiones of west coast and funk classics. In 2010 TOBB had the great fortune and honor of touring with the legend Bill Champlin, and he encouraged the band to record the ”lost song” Sweet Marie”, a track that didn`t make it on the legendary Chicago 17 album. Inspired by Bill, TOBB started recording their own original material witch had been neglected for years! The result is The album ”True To Our Sound” The Album consists og 10 songs with a strong emphasis on melody, with extensive vocal arrangements and horns all over every track! Guest vocalists is Bill And Tamara Champlin on Sweet Marie, a true honor for the band! The album also features a recording of The Tubes classic ballade ”Don`t want to wait anymore” with an intricate horn arrangement added! If you like Chicago, The Eagles, The Tubes etc. You will like TOBB!

Search Add 3 Kulturní Úderka Kulturní Úderka was founded in the 1990s. After Eda Ondráček left, Štěpán Dokoupil took up the singing and in 2003 released their debut album Rock’s Groove (Indies). At this time, the band established itself as a band that transitioned into the blues genre. The following years brought a lackluster period when the band was looking for energy and basically went through a creative crisis. The new era began in 2018 with the arrival of the Bosnian pianist Omer Blentić (Sarajevo Philharmonic). And since the bass player Mojmir Sabolovich stayed in Sarajevo for a long time, there was a comeback called Sarajevská Katarzija (Indies Happy Trails Records 2018). It kickstarted the band again, and the creative energy gave rise to the album Black Metall. Kulturní Úderka is again based in Brno, although it still goes to record in its favorite studio in Sarajevo. Currently, after the arrival of the drummer Lubomir Eremiáš and second guitarist Vladimír Sabolovič, the band has expanded the line-up and consolidated its classic groove.

Search Add 3 Jacob's Room Jacob's Room were a south London indie guitar group based in Hither Green between 1985 and 1986. They played a small number of local gigs as a three-piece before disbanding. An eight-song demo was recorded on a Fostex four-track mainly to attract new members, no copies appear to have survived. Jacob’s Room were notable at the time for their melancholy baritone vocals, treated guitars, and texture-rich multi-keyboards that preceded the broader genres of Shoegaze and Dream Pop. During the autumn of 2022, Dave Fennessy rekindled his musical partnership with Gary Parker, suggesting that even though it had been 37 years, they should rerecord the eight original songs from memory to see how they would have sounded, using equipment of the time that they couldn't then afford. During this process, Gary presented several new and recent songs to add to the 21-track album project, Then & Now. This was released during July 2023.

Search Add 3 Gervais Briot Gervay Brio Born near Saint Malo, Gervais Briot alias Gervay Brio is a descendant of the nobility of Britain and of illustrious figures in the history of France (among others: Jean Armange, companion of Joan of Arc, Toussaint Briot, secretary of King Louis XVI, and his paternal grandfather Naval Captain Julien Briot, hero of the Battle of the Rio de la Plata during the last world war). A « knight » from another era that loves noble causes, Gervay is an accomplished artist, deejay-producer, songwriter, pianist, guitarist, singer, music-therapist, writer, philosopher, video-maker and graphic designer, whose spiritual vision and motivation, incarnate the motto «Honor is the cause of the arts ». A musician at heart since childhood, Gervay founded his first band in the psychedelic years. His rather unusual path led him to encounter great musicians that inspired his career, like Miles Davis, Don Cherry, Robert Owens, Nico or Lucia Hwong. He also met several spiritual masters, including HH Karmapa XVI, supreme representative of Lamaism, under whose authority he created in 1980 «Karma Teksoum Chöling», the first Tibetan Buddhist Center in Nantes (Brittany). While teaching yoga and meditation in the Center, he also pursued Law and Psychology studies at the University and music studies at the Conservatory of Music. The Indian master Nageswara Rao initiated Gervay to the Yoga of Sound (Nada Yoga), which led to his career as music-therapist. After settling in Paris, in 1983, Gervay was invited to teach at the International Music Therapy Centre and he soon produced a collection of « Awakening Music » ; this was the precursor of « New Age » music in France, and eventually morphed to « Ambient « and « Lounge » music. In this period Gervay was a pioneer in computer & synthesizers music mix with traditional instruments from around the world (World Music).

Search Add 3 Some Guy Named Robb Robb McCormick Some Guy Named Robb AKA singer songwriter Robb McCormick is a native to Arkansas and Colorado. He has headlined festivals and opened up for acts as diverse as John Fogarty (Creedence Clearwater Revival) to Sister Hazel and the Bellamy Brothers. As well as sharing the bill with Steve Poltz (Jewel) & Glenn Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket) among others. Growing up he was inspired by lyrically and musically rich songwriters like Paul Simon, John Denver, and Neil Diamond. In his teenage years he found alternative rock music through bands like The Cure, Depeche Mode, and The Replacements. His music is an amalgamation of all these influences, as well as Reggae, Punk, Soul, and Blues. His love for music is matched only by his high regard for lyricism. He has spent his life writing and performing music, full time professionally since he was a teenager. He’s performed thousands of shows, to hundreds of thousands of people, nationally and internationally. In his own words: “The best shows are when I get to connect with the audience. When they are with me and I’m with them and we get to share a special moment together. Most musicians will tell you we perform music to make connections. That’s me. The best room is one who has come to have fun, to surrender to the evening and see where it may take us. From tears to laughter. From clapping hands to singing along with me. I live for those musical moments.” Robb has recently been on tour across the ocean in the United Kingdom, in England and France, as well as touring from coast to coast in America. Taking a moment to stop in Memphis and recording his album, "The Folkster" at the world famous Sun Studios with Grammy winning producer Matt Ross-Spang.(Jason Isbell/Brandi Carlisle/Sean Rowe/Chris Isaak/Margo Price) Robb has toured both nationally and internationally to critical acclaim, with his very own bluesy, indie folk-rock sound music and unique blend of eclectic and often surprising covers. He has written well over a thousand songs, played over 7000 shows, released and sold 9 original albums and played to hundreds of thousands of people. He is currently touring and promoting his newest release... “The Adventures of IndieBoy”, whose crowd-funding campaign garnering an unprecedented $17,000 in pre-orders in only 28 days! IndieBoy recently celebrated half a million spins on Spotify alone in 2023! You can find his music all over the Internet on YouTube Music, Spotify, Amazon and Apple Music and available to purchase here on this website, www.sgnrobb.com And on Patreon.com where he releases exclusive content (podcasts, videos, new songs, demos) only for his Patreon partners. Robb is the winner of the Beaux Arts Academy, Performer of the Year award and the 40 under 40 in Arkansas, and his song, "Time is Not Your Friend" won him the esteemed Top 5 Finalist award in the international World Songwriting Awards contest.

Search Add 3 President Blair John Myers This alias of Jon 7's is kind of an in-joke. In one area of Eugene, Oregon, the streets are named after presidents, but on the streets where they would have had to duplicate a president's name, they've named the street something else. One of those streets is Blair Blvd., which stretches from the hearing center to the trainyards, and courses directly through tweekertown, also known as Whiteaker. On this street, Eugene's finest toothless hookers roam the streets at night, and young people who have no idea what they got themselves into jitter, jaw and jabber til sunrise.

Search Add 3 Greenmantle Greenmantle was formed in September 1971, initially as a three piece with Ian Campbell, Billy Campbell & Jack Law. They brought together their background in rock music, blues and folk to create a distinctive blend. Whilst Ian left in 1972, due to ill health, Billy and Jack carried on as a two piece carving out a reputation as singer/songwriters across Britain. In 1973 they signed a management deal with Johnnie Morris, who secured a recording contract with Philips records. By 1974 they released a single, a Rupert Holmes song called ‘Terminal’. However, Billy and Jack felt the production didn't represent their sound. After recruiting two additional members, Allan Stevenson on drums, and Peter McBrearty on guitar, they felt more satisfied with the new sound. The new line prompted other changes as they moved away from folk clubs and concert halls into the rock-pub and club circuit. Allan was replaced by John Houston in 1975 on drums, and the band carried on writing, recording and playing. A year later, Jack decided to leave, having become disillusioned with the music business, and was replaced by Mick Tausney. Greenmantle continued for a further six months before breaking up. Reformed early 2009, releasing a couple of albums on the Hub Records label.
