Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

This blended style has made Three Bridges an internationally-acclaimed Gospel group — one that is known for tight harmonies, a unique vocal style, an exciting and energy packed stage presence and, most importantly, for spreading the joy of the Good News of Christ. Search | Add | 6 | Alice Detrick | Alice M. Detrick | Alice Detrick, born Alice Mulks and who for a time worked under the name [a=Janece Morgan], was born in Slaterville Springs, NY, on 17 July 1940 to Omar and Emma Mulks. She started performing country and rockabilly music professionally while a student at Ithaca High School, both as a solo artist and with the country band [a=The Tune Twisters (4)] of the Binghamton, NY area, with whom she played and sang regularly on radio stations WINR (Binghamton, NY) and WENE (Endicott, NY). Morgan's big break came at age 16, when she auditioned for [a=Dusty Owens] of the WWVA Jamboree and spent much of the summer of 1956 touring with him. It was Owens who gave her the stage name Janece Morgan, which he said came to him in a dream. She went on as an opening act for tours with [a=Loretta Lynn], [a=Roy Clark], [a=Charley Pride], and [a=The Charlie Daniels Band] and performed with [a=Lynn Anderson] at the Halogaland Country Music Festival in Norway. In 1985 she was inducted into the New York State Country Music Hall of Fame. As Janece Morgan she recorded several tracks in the 1950s for the label [l=Marlee Record Co.] in Trumansburg, NY, mostly in the country and rockabilly styles. As [a=Alice Detrick], she had several releases including a single on [l=ABC Records]. She died on 22 September 2022 in Montour Falls, NY, at the age of 82. |

Search | Add | 6 | Escaping Pavement | Detroit, MI, Americana wildflowers amongst blades of bluegrass. Have you Escaped the Pavement lately? There’s something about the bend of the mandolin, the rustle of the guitar, the gale-like wave of the vocal melody…, that calls you to adventure. Songwriting duo Emily Burns and Aaron Markovitz have always been adapting. The two Michiganders met as individual music makers in the blues open-mic circles; then they studied their craft together in California, and wound up taking to the seas to cover Top 40 hits for a cruise ship’s dance hall. After that, they started a southern rock-inclined, neo-country quartet, called Escaping Pavement. But most of their fans started finding them after 2014, when they kept their intrepid-sounding name but pared down to just a duo. With just their voices, an acoustic guitar and a mandolin, they wrote and recorded an album (The Night Owl) that was heavy on melody-slung Americana and rollicking, twangy ballads that attained a radiance through their magnificent harmonies. Now, they’re adapting again, this time as Road Warriors. Road Warriors: … we don’t mean that in a Mad Max sort of way...,, but it’s nevertheless a fitting title for their new EP. It’s been a year of discovery and progress for Escaping Pavement as they’ve entered this next phase. They played nearly 150 shows in 2018, mixing high-profile slots like the Southeast Regional Folk Alliance with more intimate engagements inside domestic abodes, all the while meeting and connecting with a range of wonderful new fans. They covered 60,000 miles, 28 states, and headlined six sold-out shows, including playing to their biggest audience to date. But with Burns and Markovitz both being John Muir-like romantics for the majesty of nature, they were absolutely thrilled to perform at the Zion Canyon Music Festival in Springfield Utah, right at the entrance to Zion National Park. It quickly became one of the highlights of their year. Since 2012, through their music and their lifestyle, Burns and Markovitz have extolled the restorative principals of “…Escaping the Pavement.” Fueled by the graceful grit and fine fiery energy of their acoustic guitar, mandolin and swooning harmonies, the intent was to integrate the uniquely holistic qualities of folk, roots and Americana music as a way of accessing an elemental peace of mind that’s always quietly waiting for us out there in the wilderness. While they developed their sound over two prior and very distinctly arranged albums, they tried to emphasize the splendors of unplugging every once and a while and taking in the outdoors, be it parks, trails, beaches, woods or mountains. But with the release of their third batch of recorded songs this Spring, Escaping Pavement are now embracing a Road Warrior outlook. Sure, they’re still escaping the pavement, but now they’re spending more time cruising across several interstate highways in a vintage, Jayco RV. Because from here on out, they’ll be consistently striking out for new territories and bold new experiences—particularly by taking on music as their full time profession. While any average independent artist probably has a day-job tethering them from full time tours, Escaping Pavement are making it their prerogative now to bring their evocative ballads, twangy rhythmic strums and soaring vocals to as many ears as possible—be it at bars, clubs, or outdoor festivals, or even your living room. The experience of making acoustic music together and getting back to nature can, of course, strengthen anyone’s songwriting sensibilities, but you begin to really find yourself, once you’re out there on the road! And as “warriors,” they’ve found they’re not defined by battles, so to speak, but more so by a bravery. Sure it’s a brave step for these songwriters to dive in 100% and begin adapting to road-life, but they if they both feel braver, or perhaps more enthused, it’s because of all of the people that they’ve gotten to meet and share time with: a diverse range of unique and affable people, be they music lovers in the audience, or fellow songwriters sharing their stage. The idea of a “home” for musical Road Warriors is ever-changing. But the question of what a “homecoming” might mean, then, for Road Warriors like them, now, is a more ponderous and amorphous concept that Burns and Markovitz mine to full poetic potential with the songs on their new EP. The intention, and really the lifestyle, now, is to remain as adaptable as ever, and to always be “finding” rather than “searching.” The only certain destination: Escaping the Pavement. \\Bio written by Jeff Milo\\

Search | Add | 6 | Cosmo Fraser | Cosmo Fraser is not your typical reggae singer/recording artist. From Westmoreland, a Jamaican Parish near Negril Beach, Cosmo's route to recording reggae came via a totally different route than most of the island's historic artists. It began like the careers of American soul artists: Stevie Wonder, Carl Carlton, Darrow Fletcher, Lucky Peterson, Gladys Knight, Michael Jackson, and other child prodigies, which Fraser most definitely was, but neither he nor his parents pursued or pushed him towards music. Though he won amateur contests all over the island as a child and had the goods of an exciting entertainer, he instead, at the age of 19, came to America to further his education. He holds multiple bachelor degrees from Columbia University and a medical degree from the State University of New York -- not your typical reggae singer by any stretch of the imagination; and he's not just sitting on the med. degree, he's a professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, and Chief of Geriatric Nephrology at the VA Medical Center in the Bay Area, and makes all encompassing reggae music as well -- again, not your typical reggae singer. The renown biomedical researcher, a.k.a. the Singing Doctor, has found the time to cut two albums to date: Reggae Music Man (a compilation done with fellow doctors) on Daktari Records (1995) and Fire This Time, his solo debut for Ruff Stuff Records (originally on Ginger Girl) released in 1998. Like any significant reggae singer, songs of social justice and injustice are a part of his repertoire, yet it's hard to picture Fraser leading a rebellion. He performs all over California and different venues and on reggae television specials; he travels to Canada to be part of their lauded Urban Fests and garners other choice gigs -- when you're not starving you can be picky. An enthusiastic entertainer, Fraser often jumps off the stage and boogies with the audience; his most popular opening number is a dancehall version of "Mission Impossible." In addition to singing, Fraser's an accomplished songwriter and writes most of his material.

Search | Add | 6 | Barry Micron | Barrington Garwood | Roots reggae singer Barry Micron (Barrington Garwood) was born in Manchester, Jamaica. His father was a Baptist preacher at the local Baptist church. He started singing at the age of 10 when he was a member of the choir group in his hometown Baptist church. As a teenager, he started to grow interest in reggae music. At 20 years old, he was working part time selling and distributing reggae albums and records to local record stores for top reggae singers at that time, like Bob Marley’s “Natty Dread” album and also distribute Burning Spear’s albums. This was the time, by associating with Bob Marley, Burning Spear, Ras Michael, Barry accepted the Rastafarian way of life, and became a Rastaman. Three of his five brothers, including Barry, decided to form their own reggae group called “GARWOOD BROTHERS” in the 1970s. (‘Garwood’ is Barry’s family name) The “Garwood Brothers” working with Micron Music Ltd., created 8 singles after becoming professional at the Harry J Recording studio in Jamaica. Some of their singles included well-known tracks like “Deepest Love”, “Everything” “Never let go” and more. In the 1980s Barry went Solo with the new name Barry Micron. He also did a duet song with the famous Sugar Minot titled “This ‘Ol man” and also continued his singing career with other major artists like Junior Byle. In 1996, Barry Micron started working on releasing his first album in Jamaica. It’s an album of peace and to spread good vibrations to all the nations.” After his first album, Barry Micron went to work on his second album. “FREE MARIJUANA” which was released in December 2000 with hit songs like “Free Marijuana”, “What do they get”, “Africa is calling” and many more. Search | Add | 6 | Toninho Almeida | Toninho Almeida | Multi-instrumentalist author/composer born in Euclide Da Cunha, a small town in Bahia, Brazil, Toninho Almeida has had a passion for artistic expression from a very young age. He arrived in Rio at the age of 17 and was struck by the urban cultural melting pot he discovered - an artist was born! He proved to be an impulsive poet, a versatile actor and a prolific, self-taught guitarist. Next stop Sao Paulo where the decadence of the dictatorship heralds a cultural scene seething with excitement, freedom and consciousness-raising. He publishes poems and goes from one poetry, theatrical and musical scene to another with his compositions. He is opening act for, among others, Gilberto Gil. He reinforces his musical gifts through a rigorous apprenticeship and becomes a professor at the Contemporary Music Academy of Bahia. He flies off to France in 1990 - first Paris, then Lille. He teaches dance, guitar and percussion and, at the same time, starts up numerous musical projects and goes on several tours inspired by the recording of two albums: Violette 41 and Mitade. Five years go by during which Toninho decides to get back to his cultural roots and Brazilian standards (forro, traditional Afro-Brazilian music, pagoda. . . .) From this arises the creation of projects such as Samba de Bamba and Forro Pitu. Filled with renewed energy with a new album in the works Deu Forro No Samba, he reinterprets his own music. Above all, he presents his latest compositions, a new group, new inspiration. Often on the road, Toninho has already performed at: L'Aéronef (Lille) La Barraca Zem (Lille) La Gare Saint-Sauveur (Lille) Le Centre Culturel Guy Gambu (Saint-Marcel) Le Centre Culturel Daniel Balavoine (Arques) Le P'tit Bal Perdu (Paris) Festival Forró Lille Forró Festival Cologne Journées des Danses d'Amérique Latine (Limoges) Festival des Mondes Pluriels (Grande-Synthe) Festival Zum Zum Zum (Londres) Festival Angoleiros do Mar (Paris) Bal à Fives (Lille) Festival Musiques de Traverse (Lille, Roubaix, Saint-Amand) Wazemmes l'accordéon (Lille) Roubaix Accordéon (Roubaix) Deûle en Fête (Lille) |

Search | Add | 6 | Eric Nakanishi | Eric Nakanishi is an aspiring artist, saxophonist, and composer who was raised in Pleasant Hill, California. He began playing saxophone at age 9 in his local elementary school music program and quickly became interested in swing. Soon he began studying swing privately under the instruction of saxophonist and educator Marcus Goodlow, who would become the first of many important educators and mentors in Eric’s life. During his high school years, Eric was lucky enough to study with some of the Bay Area’s finest musicians and educators including Mary Fettig, Dann Zinn, Alex Murzyn, and Paul Contos. In addition, he was fortunate enough to participate in many outstanding music programs that supported and nurtured his love for music. These include Northgate High School’s instrumental music program, the SFJAZZ high school programs, and the California Jazz Conservatory (formerly known as the Jazzschool) Studio Bands. These programs undoubtedly inspired Eric to pursue music. This path eventually led Eric to his undergraduate studies at Berklee College of Music. During his time at Berklee, Eric had the opportunity to be mentored by a number of accomplished and renowned artists such as Frank Tiberi, George Garzone, Dave Santoro, Jim Odgren, and Tiger Okoshi to name a few. Eric was particularly blessed and honored to have had the opportunity to be instructed by Ralph Peterson, whose goal is to immerse his students in the music of Art Blakey and pass on the legacy of the Jazz Messengers. Eric was the lead alto player of Ralph’s “GenNext Big Band” and recorded two albums with the group, I Remember Bu: Alive Vol.4 at Scullers and Listen Up!, which featured Jazz Messenger alumni Donald Harrison and Frank Lacy. After leaving Berklee, Eric recorded his debut album, Introducing. Released in April 2020, this album features all original compositions brought to life by an incredible band made up of some of Eric’s colleagues from Berklee. Eric has moved from Boston and now resides in Tucson, AZ.

Search | Add | 6 | GeroMetal | GeroMetaL | GeroMetal was a Serbian heavy metal band from Novi Sad.The band was formed by a former Griva member Josip Sabo (guitar) and a well-known comic book artist Bane Kerac (drums). The band started their activity in 1992, when Sabo and Kerac were joined by a former Albatorosi member Predrag "Peđa" Moldvaji (bass guitar). Initially, the band performed covers by Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Free, The Jimi Hendrix Experience and others, but with humorous Serbian language lyrics. These songs were released in 1993 on the album Der Rauch Am Wasser (German for "Smoke on the Water"). In 1996, the band was joined by vocalist Dušan Uvalić "Francuz", a former vocalist for the bands Annathema and Crash. This lineup recorded new songs, released during the same year on the album Cat Claw, named after the comic book superhero of the same name created by Kerac. In 1998, after a number of concerts across Vojvodina, Uvalić left GeroMetal to join the reformed Annathema, and two members of the band Kraj, Viktor Moldvaji (Predrag Moldvaji's son, guitar) and Nenad Petković (the bass guitarist in Kraj, on keyboards in GeroMetal), joined the band. Until the end of their career the band performed occasionally only, performing mostly in Novi Sad. In 2000, the band disbanded. |

Search | Add | 6 | Beatocello | Beat Richner | Dr. med. Beat Richner (1947-2018) was a Swiss pediatrician and cellist. As both a cellist and a medical doctor, Richner was known by patients, audiences, and donors as "Beatocello". Richner studied with the cellists Julius Bächi, Enrico Mainardi and Siegfried Palm, created his own cabaret program as the musical clown "Beatocello", performed full-length programs in Zurich and elsewhere, but then decided to study medicine. He specialized in pediatrics at the Children's Hospital in Zurich. In 1974/1975, the Swiss Red Cross sent him to the Kantha Bopha Children's Hospital in Phnom Penh (Cambodia). When the Khmer Rouge took power, Richner was able to leave the country in 1975; nine out of ten of his colleagues at the time were killed in the Killing Fields. He resumed his work at the Children's Hospital in Zurich and opened his own pediatric practice in Zurich in 1980. In addition, he performed as the musical clown "Beatocello" for children in hospitals and theaters and published children's books with his stories, which he illustrated himself. When Cambodia became accessible to foreigners again, Richner traveled to Phnom Penh and was commissioned by the King Norodom Sihanouk and the Ministry of Health to rebuild Kantha Bopha. Dr. med. Beat Richner founded the first Kantha Bopha children's hospital in 1992. In the following 25 years he opened four more hospitals in Cambodia. During the 25 years of his work, his hospitals treated 15.4 million outpatients and 1.7 million seriously ill children as inpatients. |

Search | Add | 6 | Hawks Do Not Share | An Indie/Alternative Rock band from Portland, Oregon : George Lewis III (Vocals, Bass, Programming), Jeremy Wilkins (Keyboards, Programming), Britt White (Keyboards, Percussion, Backing Vocals), Jason Roark (Guitar) George Lewis III and Jeremy Wilkins are no strangers to each other. The two multi-instrumentalists have been collaborating in the studio and onstage in a variety of projects since the early ‘00s. So, in 2012, when Lewis asked his longtime friend to help put together some material for his solo project The Other Also, there wasn’t any idea that it would go beyond a new EP. But when they started collaborating, the mood shifted away from Lewis’ acoustic-based tendencies and towards more programmed beats, glistening synth tones, and electronic-based production. Once they realized they were doing something entirely new, it only made sense to give it its own name: Hawks Do Not Share. The band has only grown in strength and numbers since then. The two were joined by another strong musical presence, and an incredible solo artist in her own right, Britt White, who adds her lovely vocals as well as guitar and keyboard textures to the mix. With all the pieces in place, Hawks Do Not Share released their debut, full-length HDNS. The 10 tracks on this self-produced, self-released LP are lush pop gems, emanating the kind of warmth that makes you want to curl up and bask in. The guitars shimmer like an early 4AD Records fever dream and the songs get buoyed on delicate waves of keyboard melodies. Warmly received by local and national press, the band went on to give several performances in support of their debut album. To hear him tell it, Portland guitarist Jason Roark fell in love with the band during their record release show at the Doug Fir. Shortly thereafter, Jason expressed interest in adding more guitar. Unbeknownst to him, Britt was thrilled by the prospect of putting down the guitar to focus on her preferred instruments, keyboards and vocals. Now a four-piece, Hawks Do Not Share are currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on a forthcoming EP, "Polaris".
