Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Born in Bhavnagar on 27th December 1916, he had his early training in music from the Late Pt. Shankarrao Vyas, Pt. Narayan Moreshwar Khare and Late Pandit Omkarnath Thakur of Gwalior Gharana. Later, being attracted by the Kirana style of Khansaheb Abdul Karim Khan, he became a devout disciple of Pandit Balkrishnabua Kapileshwari, a direct disciple of the Late Khansaheb Abdul Karim Khan. Possessing a rich sonorous voice with tremendous depth of feeling and understanding of the Ragas, his devotion and dedication and his purity of style in the development of the Raga, he participated in many a concerts and attained fame all over India. Unfortunately, he died at the young age of 47 years on 3rd January 1964, leaving a void in the music world. Some of his famous disciples are Pandit Vinayak Vora (Vocal and Taar-Shehnai), Arun Sewak and Dakshesh Dhruv. Padma Vibhushan Pandit Ravi Shankar, the world- renowned exponent of Indian Classical Music, has honoured Yeshwantrai by describing him as a great Sadhak.”

She was the first of many to study under the acclaimed singing teacher Dame Sister Mary Leo. Other prominent singers who studied with Mary Leo included the internationally renowned soprano Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, soprano Dame Malvina Major, and mezzo-soprano Heather Begg. Foley's voice was famously dubbed "The voice of the century". Mina Foley was the most promising young soprano of her time. She studied abroad, returning to New Zealand in 1960. Unfortunately Foley had a severe and mental breakdown in 1961, forcing her retirement. She spent the next 16 years in Oakley Psychiatric Hospital. In 1978 she staged a return concert. However her return to singing was short-lived, as ill-health continued to plague her until her death.

Search Add 6 Thildo Gama Thildo dos Santos Gama Thildo Gama (Salvador, June 5, 1945 - Salvador, December 8, 2011) was a Brazilian musician, artist, teacher and auditor. He was the first guitarist of [a=Raul Seixas] and one of the pioneers of the Bahian rock. In addition to being a musician, he was also a fiscal auditor of the Bahia State Treasury Department, a university professor and, more recently, became a clown, creating the characters "Zig Zig Zaa" and "Tô de Boa". Thildo began playing with his friend Raul in his teens and were two of the first rockers of Salvador, still in the 1950s. In 1962, they formed the group Relâmpagos Do Rock, along with Enelmar Chagas. The band quickly became popular in Salvador. Shortly thereafter, Chagas leaves the group and is replaced by Thildo's brother, Délcio Gama. Still in 1962, Os Relâmpagos Do Rock appear on TV Itapoan. The recording of this presentation is in the album O Baú Do Raul (1992). According to the magazine A Bahia, the band Os Relâmpagos Do Rock was the best set of rock of all the state. With the success, the group grew and was renamed The Panthers, now counting with [a=Mariano Lanat], [a=Carleba] and Carlô (neighbor of Raul, who stayed in the band until 1964), besides Raul Seixas and Thildo. Thildo left the group in 1967, not being present in Raul Seixas' first album, "Raulzito E Os Panteras", in 1967. He also participated in other bands such as Thildo E Seu Bossas E Os Jovens, and released the compact Thildo Gama E Os Terríveis by the Astor, in 1967. This compact had on side A, the song 'Bonequinha', version of Waldir Serrão for 'Pretty Woman', of [a=Roy Orbison]; On the B side there was 'Você É Inspiração' (Jeff Cezar and Thildo Gama), both songs came with the name surf, considered the first recording of a Bahian artist to designate his production within the subgenre surf music. In the 80's Thildo also participated in a group folkloric group from Bahia, making presentations in Italy and Chile. Thildo was always present in the musical scene of Salvador: he played in bands, performed several shows and recorded independent albums. In 2002, together with the auditor also fiscal Francisco Benjamin, formed the pair Beja & Gama that touched in dancing shows. In 2009, Gama performed at the Virada Cultural de São Paulo with Os Panteras, at which time they played the first Seixas album in its entirety. He died of a brain cancer, is buried in the Bosque da Paz cemetery in Salvador.

Search Add 6 Vincent R. Dinino Vincent Rairde Dinino Vincent Rairden DiNino was born in Manhattan, Kansas, on October 25, 1918. When Vince came to The University of Texas in Austin in 1955, a new era of bands opened up. He was to the band program at the university what Darrell Royal was to football. The first challenge he had was to sell the band directors of Texas on the Longhorn Band. During his twenty years as Longhorn Band Director, the band made 17 bowl game performances. The Longhorn Band and Michigan Band are the only major university bands to perform at the Super Bowl. Many of the ideas that Vince introduced with the Longhorn Band have stood the test of time and are very much a part of today’s performances. He introduced March Grandioso, as well as March of the Longhorns and The Wabash Cannonball.

Search Add 6 Gavin Watson Gavin Watson was born in London in 1965 and grew up on a council estate in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. He bought a Hanimex camera from Woolworths in his early teens and began to take photographs. Upon leaving school at the age of sixteen, Watson moved back to London and became a darkroom assistant at Camera Press. He continued to photograph his younger brother [a=Neville Watson] and their group of skinhead friends in High Wycombe. The ‘Wycombe Skins’ were part of the working-class skinhead subculture brought together by a love of ska music and fashion. Although skinhead style had become associated with the right-wing extremism of political groups like the National Front in the 1970s, Watson’s photographs document a time and place where the subculture was racially mixed and inclusive. His photographs were published in the books Skins (1994) and Skins and Punks (2008), and the director Shane Meadows cited them as an inspiration for his film This is England (2006). In 2011 and 2012 Watson photographed campaigns for Dr Martens and began a project with the singer Plan B.

Search Add 6 Grand Western Adam and Simon met at a Tortoise gig at the end of the 90's and formed the band Geyser (with Andy Prestige from Cortizone and Al Murray sharing the drum stool). In 1999 Kirsten France started to guest on vocals for recording (Simon and Kirsten grew up together in Southport). The demos featuring Kirsten secured a publishing deal with Chrysalis and by the end of the year she was lead vocalist for the band. With the name now changed to Grand Western, Rob Havis (from Jetboy) joined on drums. At the start of 2000 the band released their first limited edition single, Just Whistle, becoming Mark and Lard's single of the week on Radio One. Meanwhile, Xfm added the B-side, Drive Your Car, to their A-list. Writing and recording a new album's worth of material the band also found time during 2000 to recruit a new manager, Steve Lowes from Retaliate First (who also manages Ian Brown), and a keyboard player, Jane Watkins. Jane's first gig was at the Reading Festival in August, playing to nearly 1,000 festival-goers. The band also played at the Carling festival in Leeds and the Mersea Island festival (with Dodgy) in late summer. In 2000, Grand Western also wrote and performed the music for Al Murray's TV vehicle Time, Gentlemen, Please. They were voted a Top 10 act by NME at In The City in Manchester in late September (reviewed as the 'band most likely to have a massive hit'). Firm favourites of the Barfly Club, Grand Western ended the year with their first live webcast for Channel Fly, filmed upstairs at the Monarch. During 2001 they toured extensively throughout England and finished recording two singles, Radio Caroline and Complicated, intended for release in the summer of 2001.

Search Add 6 Tina Poli-Randaccio (b nr Ferrara, 13 April 1879; d Milan, 1 Feb 1956). Italian soprano. She studied in Pesaro and made her début in 1902 at Bergamo in Un ballo in maschera. She travelled widely in Italy, Spain, Hungary and South America, mostly in lyric-dramatic and verismo roles. Admiring her Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana, Pietro Mascagni engaged her in 1908 to sing the heroine of his Amica in an Italian tour. In 1910, as Brünnhilde in Siegfried, she made her début at La Scala, where she also appeared in the theatre's first presentation of La fanciulla del West. Other notable roles were Aida, La Gioconda and the heroine of Pietro Mascagni's Parisina. In her only season at Covent Garden (1920) she sang Tosca, a performance praised for emotional force but criticized for unevenness. Her career lasted until 1934 with an appearance as Turandot at Bologna. Recordings show a powerful voice, capable of delicacy but inclined to shrillness at the top and having the fast vibrato characteristic of Italian sopranos of the period. She was clearly an imaginative artist, sensitive to nuance and warm in feeling. From The Grove Book of Opera Singers in Oxford Reference.
