Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

The Polish-Danish-Italian trio uses melodic, minimal compositions as a motor for elevated and focused collective improvisations. With its lyrical uniqueness, their music floats on the borders between genres, landing somewhere between jazz, motion picture soundtrack, experimental and minimalism. Italian opera and the Polish romantic piano heritage, as well as the Danish wise interpretation of the African-American culture play a decisive role in the background, combining a mature, personal sound with deep emotional content.

Search | Add | 6 | Gavin Watson | Gavin Watson was born in London in 1965 and grew up on a council estate in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. He bought a Hanimex camera from Woolworths in his early teens and began to take photographs. Upon leaving school at the age of sixteen, Watson moved back to London and became a darkroom assistant at Camera Press. He continued to photograph his younger brother [a=Neville Watson] and their group of skinhead friends in High Wycombe. The ‘Wycombe Skins’ were part of the working-class skinhead subculture brought together by a love of ska music and fashion. Although skinhead style had become associated with the right-wing extremism of political groups like the National Front in the 1970s, Watson’s photographs document a time and place where the subculture was racially mixed and inclusive. His photographs were published in the books Skins (1994) and Skins and Punks (2008), and the director Shane Meadows cited them as an inspiration for his film This is England (2006). In 2011 and 2012 Watson photographed campaigns for Dr Martens and began a project with the singer Plan B.

Search | Add | 6 | J. F. Nelson | Third-person alias of [a95466], that he used when writing the foreword and afterword in the "Those were the days" book. About the origins of the name, Marian supposedly said: "Some say, his full name is jonathan frederik nelson, others insist on jordan franklin nelson and others call him jefferey ferdinand nixon. reportedly he established the so called 'nelson project' at the end of the seventies that later became alphaville. his identity is a mystery. and it will continue to be. on 'afternoons in utopia' they described his function as 'spiritual light(n)ing', later on he appeared as an 'illuminator'. in the lyrics of 'lies' (forever young) and 'lassie come home' (afternoons in utopia) he was some kind of visitor, and maybe in some other songs as well. The album of Serge Gainsbourg called 'Histoire de Melody Nelson' seems to deal with his person. Around 1984 he disappeared. On 'dreamscapes' he was mentioned being a traveller, but his current residence seems to be out of this world."

Ideologicznie świadomie i celowo zespół wspiera akcje antyrasistowskie, wolnościowe i ekologiczne. Wokalistów Qulturki można usłyszeć m.in. na najnowszej płycie zespołu STRACHY NA LACHY I cant get no gratisfaction.

Search | Add | 6 | John Doc | John Gerrard Docherty | Scottish singer and pianist, born in Holytown May 1935, died May 2022. Like a good wine, classic songs sung by a vocalist as good as John Doc can only mature with age. The Doc's career started in the early 60's, becoming the pianist in a live band before branching out with John Healy, where the duo become one of the more prominent acts when Clubland was at it's thriving best. After parting ways with Healy, Doc surrounded himself with great musicians and went off out under his own name, appearing as the resident vocalist at Hasties Farm in Blantyre – a popular entertainment venue which until the early 60’s had been a working farm. After a spell of about six years there, John moved to The Carousel in Motherwell, with the Doc and his trio playing an integral part in the club's success, so much so that John went into partnership with the owner, Gerry Gallen. Throughout his career, John became synonymous with many a venue throughout Scotland, such as Cowie Bowling Club, Cleland Miners, Carfin's Hibernian Club and Wishaw's Little Caesar's to name but a few, becoming an integral part of their respective communities as a result of his residencies. |

Search | Add | 6 | Restless Children | Restless Children | Floris A. Brown’s normal work is getting children to see things come into shape under their hands. He teaches handwork. Off duty he loves to see something much less tangible come to shape – sounds. He leads Cape Town’s septet he christened Restless Children and writes most of their music. First there was the shaping of Floris A. Brown, musician. Born nearly 26 years ago, he inherited his love of music from his father, who gave him his first lessons in theory. Then he studied music while training as a teacher at the Hewat Training College in Athlone. Not satisfied with this, he studied composition through the International Songwriter’s Association. Then there was the shaping of the Restless Children. The group started off in 1966 as Romeo Five with Brown on rhythm guitar. A restless group this, what with the many changes in personnel. In a way they have found rest now. They no longer have personnel problems. There’s the 23-year-old Andrew Wilson on lead guitar and vocals. He first teamed up with choir, Junior Merry Melodies. Ther’s Dyrell Bailey, 26, who plays additional lead guitar, mouth organ and sax. Started his career as a jazz musician, but later switched to pop. Another ex-jazzman is Mattheun Appolis, 24, who playes bass guitar. There are the two other teachers, Greg Smith, 22, piano-keyboards and John Brown, 24, drums and trumpet. John teaches art. The two teachers also studied music at Hewat Training College. Then there is the lead vocalist, who also playes congas and tambourine, Deon Kleinhans, nearly 23. He was also a member of the Junior Merry Melodies. After their first big show in Worcester in August 1970, the septet have not looked back. Travelling in their own 15 seater bus, they have played all the major centers in the Cape. The other provinces? They have sent forerunners by way of a 7-single they released last October, “Until Tomorrow” and are now busy working on another 7-single “Try Not To Play The Fool.” “These boys are very good indeed.” The words came from TRUTONE record producer Laurence Koonin – and he was talking about Restless Children, in the studio to record their first LP ( longplaying record). Restless Children are something of a enigma. They are all country boys intent on taking over the city music scene. Their home town is Worcester – and they have played in just every country town in the Western Cape – as well as a very successful tour of South West Africa ( Namibia ). Now, with two high selling singles behind them, the group are working on their first long player. So far it hasn’t been given a name. Composer for the group is the pianist Floris Brown – and most of the numbers on the new record will be by him. RESTLESS CHILDREN was the first and only “so called Coulored” group in the Western Cape during the Apartheid years, who received a GOLD DISC for the two singles “UNTIL TOMORROW & TRY NOT TO PLAY THE FOOL” composed by Floris Brown to exceed in the selling of more than 25 000 copies in South-Africa. |

Search | Add | 6 | Ralph Bakshi | Ralph Bakshi (born October 29, 1938) is an American director of animated and live-action films. In the 1970s, he established an alternative to mainstream animation through independent and adult-oriented productions. Between 1972 and 1992, he directed nine theatrically released feature films, five of which he wrote. He has been involved in numerous television projects as director, writer, producer and animator. Beginning his career at the Terrytoons television cartoon studio as a cel polisher, Bakshi was eventually promoted to animator, and then director. He moved to the animation division of Paramount Pictures in 1967 and started his own studio, Bakshi Productions, in 1968. Through producer Steve Krantz, Bakshi made his debut feature film, Fritz the Cat, released in 1972. It was the first animated film to receive an X rating from the Motion Picture Association of America, and the most successful independent animated feature of all time. Over the next eleven years, Bakshi directed seven additional animated features. He is well known for such films as Wizards (1977), The Lord of the Rings (1978), American Pop (1981) and Fire and Ice (1983). In 1987, Bakshi returned to television work, producing the series Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures, which ran for two years. After a nine-year hiatus from feature films, he directed Cool World (1992), which was largely rewritten during production and received poor reviews. Bakshi returned to television with the live-action film Cool and the Crazy (1994) and the anthology series Spicy City (1997).
