Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 6 Garazi Gorostiaga Garazi Gorostiaga Garazi Gorostiaga (Galdakao, Euskal Herria, 1986) finds in electronic music, computers, synthesizers and languages such as MIDI the ability to know, express and state freely her experiences, ideas and emotions whilst also experimenting with them. Although musical creation has indeed accompanied her for many years, it was not until 2016 when she first presents her work to a live audience, focusing on sounds and styles such as ambient, drone and industrial. In 2017, the music label Eclectic Reactions from Bilbao in Spain released her first work, “Irauten”. Since then she has taken part in festivals such as the ODD (Barcelona), Nokodek, Dantz, DobleCheck (Donostia-San Sebastián), Kubeats (Urretxu), Inmersiones (Vitoria-Gasteiz), The Alhóndiga Experimental Music Programme, Mem (Bilbao), and furthermore in projects and collectives like Le Larraskito Kluba, Gertrude Noise Meeting, Dena Nahi Dugu (Atari), Música Dispersa or Mise-En-Scène Productions. Despite her work methodology of constant change, her favourite areas of experimentation are field recordings, synthesis (especially granular) and digital processes in real time. An imagery where there are no words. Compression/containment and expansion, chaos and order, calm and violence. Everything is in question, everything is the way it is in a cosmic, introspective and oneiric journey where identity and duality lose all their meaning. Sound alchemy, a thunderous coven, digital paganism and a necromantic spirit. «Revolutionary is the idea that creativity will save the world»

Search Add 6 Escaping Pavement Detroit, MI, Americana wildflowers amongst blades of bluegrass. Have you Escaped the Pavement lately? There’s something about the bend of the mandolin, the rustle of the guitar, the gale-like wave of the vocal melody…, that calls you to adventure. Songwriting duo Emily Burns and Aaron Markovitz have always been adapting. The two Michiganders met as individual music makers in the blues open-mic circles; then they studied their craft together in California, and wound up taking to the seas to cover Top 40 hits for a cruise ship’s dance hall. After that, they started a southern rock-inclined, neo-country quartet, called Escaping Pavement. But most of their fans started finding them after 2014, when they kept their intrepid-sounding name but pared down to just a duo. With just their voices, an acoustic guitar and a mandolin, they wrote and recorded an album (The Night Owl) that was heavy on melody-slung Americana and rollicking, twangy ballads that attained a radiance through their magnificent harmonies. Now, they’re adapting again, this time as Road Warriors. Road Warriors: … we don’t mean that in a Mad Max sort of way...,, but it’s nevertheless a fitting title for their new EP. It’s been a year of discovery and progress for Escaping Pavement as they’ve entered this next phase. They played nearly 150 shows in 2018, mixing high-profile slots like the Southeast Regional Folk Alliance with more intimate engagements inside domestic abodes, all the while meeting and connecting with a range of wonderful new fans. They covered 60,000 miles, 28 states, and headlined six sold-out shows, including playing to their biggest audience to date. But with Burns and Markovitz both being John Muir-like romantics for the majesty of nature, they were absolutely thrilled to perform at the Zion Canyon Music Festival in Springfield Utah, right at the entrance to Zion National Park. It quickly became one of the highlights of their year. Since 2012, through their music and their lifestyle, Burns and Markovitz have extolled the restorative principals of “…Escaping the Pavement.” Fueled by the graceful grit and fine fiery energy of their acoustic guitar, mandolin and swooning harmonies, the intent was to integrate the uniquely holistic qualities of folk, roots and Americana music as a way of accessing an elemental peace of mind that’s always quietly waiting for us out there in the wilderness. While they developed their sound over two prior and very distinctly arranged albums, they tried to emphasize the splendors of unplugging every once and a while and taking in the outdoors, be it parks, trails, beaches, woods or mountains. But with the release of their third batch of recorded songs this Spring, Escaping Pavement are now embracing a Road Warrior outlook. Sure, they’re still escaping the pavement, but now they’re spending more time cruising across several interstate highways in a vintage, Jayco RV. Because from here on out, they’ll be consistently striking out for new territories and bold new experiences—particularly by taking on music as their full time profession. While any average independent artist probably has a day-job tethering them from full time tours, Escaping Pavement are making it their prerogative now to bring their evocative ballads, twangy rhythmic strums and soaring vocals to as many ears as possible—be it at bars, clubs, or outdoor festivals, or even your living room. The experience of making acoustic music together and getting back to nature can, of course, strengthen anyone’s songwriting sensibilities, but you begin to really find yourself, once you’re out there on the road! And as “warriors,” they’ve found they’re not defined by battles, so to speak, but more so by a bravery. Sure it’s a brave step for these songwriters to dive in 100% and begin adapting to road-life, but they if they both feel braver, or perhaps more enthused, it’s because of all of the people that they’ve gotten to meet and share time with: a diverse range of unique and affable people, be they music lovers in the audience, or fellow songwriters sharing their stage. The idea of a “home” for musical Road Warriors is ever-changing. But the question of what a “homecoming” might mean, then, for Road Warriors like them, now, is a more ponderous and amorphous concept that Burns and Markovitz mine to full poetic potential with the songs on their new EP. The intention, and really the lifestyle, now, is to remain as adaptable as ever, and to always be “finding” rather than “searching.” The only certain destination: Escaping the Pavement. \\Bio written by Jeff Milo\\

Search Add 6 Carl Thien Grew up in Long Island a little too young to be fully part of the first wave NYC CBGB/Max's scenes, but nonetheless able to get into shows, which became a huge influence on future endeavors. Enjoyed music discussions with Jimi LaLumia, who worked in a local Sam Goody's and guided me to my first independent record store, Norlee's in Ronkonkoma. First studio recordings were with Vial Of Life, all friends and from the same area. Moved to Boston in 1983 and played in Sinn Fein, then fell in love with the Paisley Underground sound. Moved to Los Angeles by invite of David Roback to play in post-Clay Allison band, which didn't quite work out. Fell in love with the Nardcore and skate scene in LA and super fast hardcore with Ill Repute as favorite band. Jammed several times with Sylvia Juncosa. Moved to Santa Cruz. Moved back to Boston and joined GingerBread Men, bringing the NYC/Paisley/HC unlikely blend into songs. Started Gull Records and put out a GBM 7" (another came out on Arf Arf). More studio recordings were made at the time which have become a new Gull Records release. Became a College radio DJ, first at Harvard's WHRB, then Boston College's WZBC (Gulls Window Circus still airs every Tuesday 5-7pm EST). Formed Turkish Delight after seeing Kudgel at a Billy Ruane Birthday show, blending that sound with west coast bands such as Oiler, and the Atlanta band Pineal Ventana. In 2017 started the art punk band Gull Boy, currently in its fifth lineup and going strong.

Search Add 6 The Pernell Reichert Band Vancouver, British Columbia From Vancouver, BC Canada, Pernell Reichert is a singer, songwriter, fast finger-pickin', slide-playin', foot-stompin', razor-sharp entertainer. Whether playing a slow self-penned soulful ballad or rockin' with his toe tappin' 3-piece band, you won't be disappointed in his sound. Pernell has been well received at festivals, pubs, clubs, bars, cafes and coffee houses throughout Western Canada. The band features Pernell on guitar (acoustic & electric), banjo, harmonica and vocals, Ross Christopher Fairbairn on bass and backup vocals and Tom Tischer on drums and backup vocals. Their music is acoustic based roots rock, fast folk, alt-country or cow punk. tarting in the late 90’s Pernell & his guitar lived the life of an itinerant roamer: Tree planting in the mountains of BC, farming on kibbutz’s in the Middle East & Great Britain, working oil rigs in the Canadian oil patch – Pernell perfected his guitar playing style and began to pen the songs that would become his narrative. Performing as a solo artist throughout those early years on the stage of a pub in Bristol, England – or at an open mic on The Drive in Vancouver, BC Pernell developed his unique panache – a style of guitar playing described as high energy with fast finger-picking numbers that keep the audience captivated. In 2004 Pernell founded his first band known as Pernell Reichert and the Hard Drinkers. With a lot of serious hard work that year, the band developed a tight set with an upbeat tempo & a full thick sound. In 2005, with Pernell’s solo album in hand, the band set out on their first month-long debut tour of western Canada. Most of 2006 was spent in the studio preparing their first CD as a band, interspersed with venues that enabled them to refine their performance as a group. In 2007 they embarked on several five-day tours, breaking into the western Canada touring circuit. In 2008 Pernell Reichert and the Hard Drinkers released their self-titled album followed by a 39 day tour of western Canada that took the boys from Vancouver to Winnipeg and back. June to July Pernell toured solo from BC to southern Ontario. The band joined in for August and September. That fall Pernell Reichert and the Hard Drinkers went international with a 10-shows-in-10-days tour of South Africa which produced a live recording later included on their 2011 EP. In 2011 they became The Pernell Reichert Band and released their second CD: “Highway of Tears.” More touring followed with highlights including the 2012 Edge of the world Music Festival in Haida Gwaii, BC; 2013 Wells Festival of all Things Art in Wells, BC; 2013 Rock Creek Fall Fair in Rock Creek, BC (sharing the stage with Fred Penner); the 2014 Rock Creek Fall Fair (sharing the stage with Charlotte Diamond); the 2015 Cowboy Festival in Nordegg, Alberta (sharing the stage with Marty Haggard). 2016 saw the release of their third effort entitled “The Road (You Ain't the One)”.

Search Add 6 DC Da Messenger At the age 16, DC Da Messenger was the motivating force behind a very talented singing and rap group called DC Rap Kids, which consisted largely of some very creative and innovated family members, including his younger brother and three cousins. Compositions like "World War III", "video Games", "The Smurfs", DC Rap Kids Theme" and of course "Big Chance" showed his early genius at writing with message and meaning. However, limited by lack of industry knowledge and capitol backing, the "Big Chance" never came. Eventually DC Rap Kids evolved into "DC Delinquent Teens". Da Messenger persevered and stuck to his guns, refusing to compromise his unique art form. This landed him a job with the Everyday Theater Youth Ensemble(ET), where he finally felt the "hype" of performing for more than just family and he loved it. Now more than ever, he vowed never to turn back. His experience with ET was the best thin that could have happened to Da Messenger. After Everyday Theater, Da Messenger tried to once again pull his family along, but realized that nothing happens overnight. All but one has been lost to the streets, including himself. He has never let go of his dream and remains determined to achieve whatever it was that DC Rap Kids set out to do nine years ago. He look back and wonders how many really talented undiscovered kid never get a chance to achieve their dreams, but fall victim to the stone cold street of hustling, drug abuse, robbery and everything that comes with it. On that tragic note, he dedicates the singles "AVENUE BUM RUSH",and "IT'S ON YOU".

Search Add 6 Amor A Traición Spanish pop-rock group from San Sebastian (1983-1997), until 1994 they didn't released their first LP. First line-up: Rafael Berrio (vocals, composer), José Manuel Puerto (guitar), Enrique “Endika” Cámara (bass) and José López (drums). Their first gig was in December 31th of 1983, becoming the opening act for Spear Of Destiny concert. They even performed on a couple of occasions at the Ekaitz Pub in Lequeitio, Vizcaya. They would record in the Tsunami studios a total of six cuts waiting to be laminated, 'November', 'Bad winks',' Betrayal love ',' Hero of the Baltic ',' Candy usually says' and 'Through the night ', but his opportunity to press his first album was, for the moment, in borage waters. Already in the second half of the eighties, the group disappeared into the shadow zone. For long years, they secluded themselves in the rehearsal rooms, acting sporadically, until, again, for Shanti Records they recorded in 1991, their first LP at the Du Manoir studios (Landes, France) but unfortunately, the album would remain unpublished because of the subsequent bankruptcy of the record label. Second failed record attempt. After a time, they created, with the collaboration of the writer Iñaki Berrio (Rafael's brother), a new repertoire that interested the multinational Warner, which finally produced in early 1994 at Estudios IZ from Amasa (Guipúzcoa), what It would be his first LP, known as "black disc". It had an excellent critical reception, although not so good promotion, which had a negative impact on its sales ratio. In 1996, José Manuel Puerto (guitar) and José López (drums) left the band and José Luis “Cheli” Lanzagorta joined the keyboards (Orquesta Mondragón, Puskarra, La Buena Vida), Paúl Zubillaga (guitar) and Iñaki de Lucas on drums (La Buena Vida and producer of Estudio De Lucas). As a result of false expectations, they soon manage to disassociate themselves from the multinational company, which allowed them to prepare in 1997 and in the recently inaugurated Estudio De Lucas (San Sebastián), their second and last work, a new limited edition Lp titled "Una canción de mala muerte". They had the executive production of Diego Vasallo. In the promotional part they had to face a self-managed tour with some critical and public success. Soon after, the group would eventually dissolve.

He also spent some time in Galveston, Texas and New Orleans, Louisiana where he recorded approximately 19 to 20 songs. (most of which were never released). The name of his next band after "The Outerlimits" was called "The Gypsies" and then the last band he played with was "Simon Reyes and the Bourbon Street Bums". But on November 15, 1974, Simon Reyes passed away due to heroin overdose near his home in Weslaco. Search Add 6 Toninho Almeida Toninho Almeida Multi-instrumentalist author/composer born in Euclide Da Cunha, a small town in Bahia, Brazil, Toninho Almeida has had a passion for artistic expression from a very young age. He arrived in Rio at the age of 17 and was struck by the urban cultural melting pot he discovered - an artist was born! He proved to be an impulsive poet, a versatile actor and a prolific, self-taught guitarist. Next stop Sao Paulo where the decadence of the dictatorship heralds a cultural scene seething with excitement, freedom and consciousness-raising. He publishes poems and goes from one poetry, theatrical and musical scene to another with his compositions. He is opening act for, among others, Gilberto Gil. He reinforces his musical gifts through a rigorous apprenticeship and becomes a professor at the Contemporary Music Academy of Bahia. He flies off to France in 1990 - first Paris, then Lille. He teaches dance, guitar and percussion and, at the same time, starts up numerous musical projects and goes on several tours inspired by the recording of two albums: Violette 41 and Mitade. Five years go by during which Toninho decides to get back to his cultural roots and Brazilian standards (forro, traditional Afro-Brazilian music, pagoda. . . .) From this arises the creation of projects such as Samba de Bamba and Forro Pitu. Filled with renewed energy with a new album in the works Deu Forro No Samba, he reinterprets his own music. Above all, he presents his latest compositions, a new group, new inspiration. Often on the road, Toninho has already performed at: L'Aéronef (Lille) La Barraca Zem (Lille) La Gare Saint-Sauveur (Lille) Le Centre Culturel Guy Gambu (Saint-Marcel) Le Centre Culturel Daniel Balavoine (Arques) Le P'tit Bal Perdu (Paris) Festival Forró Lille Forró Festival Cologne Journées des Danses d'Amérique Latine (Limoges) Festival des Mondes Pluriels (Grande-Synthe) Festival Zum Zum Zum (Londres) Festival Angoleiros do Mar (Paris) Bal à Fives (Lille) Festival Musiques de Traverse (Lille, Roubaix, Saint-Amand) Wazemmes l'accordéon (Lille) Roubaix Accordéon (Roubaix) Deûle en Fête (Lille)

Tat spent six years on the pirate airwaves in Sheffield including the legendary Fantasy FM, which famously had listeners in the tens of thousands around South Yorkshire alone. There was also a few years residency on the seminal SCR radio station, with his saturday night house show, crammed in amongst a schedule of reggae and soul.
