Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 6 | Drone Forest | Artistic collective creating gritty ambient and quietnoise music. Drone Forest utilizes the internet to trade sound sources, which are assembled by the group into drone based soundscapes. With a few notable exceptions, each of Drone Forest's full-length releases are assembled by a single member of the collective, using sound sources recorded by the group. Thus the character of the group is relayed via an individual expression. Since the band is separated by great distance, audio source files are exchanged over the internet, each member's own sound studio used to manipulate and arrange the sounds toward a common set of ideals. The Drone Forest project was initiated by Ian C. Stewart in the year 2002 when he requested electronic audio files from Michael J. Bowman, C. Reider and Davie Blint. Mr. Stewart then used these files to create several long pieces of experimental music, which he set to a videotape of stark Winter trees. In the Spring of 2003, Drone Forest became active as a collaborative effort.

Search | Add | 6 | Bachelor Machines | Clint Hoagland | In late 2004, songwriter [a=Clint Hoagland] stumbled upon the Bachelor Machines, forgotten, in a basement in a remote part of Lansing, Michigan. Mr Hoagland blew the dust off their screens, connected them back up, and they sprung back into life. The Bachelor Machines - Bachelor #1 and Bachelor #2 - requested audio and visual information input in the form of 12" LPs, VHS tapes and DVDs, which their human assistant provides them. They take that raw input, process it using operations known only to themselves, and then they provide their assistant with audio messages. Drawing their name and their found-object aesthetic from Duchamp and their love of sonic juxtaposition from the Space Age Pop movement of 1960s (not to mention the cut-up artists of more recent years), Bachelor Machines destroy recognizable sounds and restructures them into a comforting sonic world where computers talk, robot waitresses serve ice-cold cocktails, and messages from the home office are sent via pneumatic tube. In 2010, the Bachelors stopped engaging humans in rational conversations using the humans' own sounds. They now aim to address humans' nervous systems directly. |

In 1926, when it belonged to Louis Holvoet, completely remodeled by the Carl Frei company in Breda, which removed the figures in the front and added two side panels with fashionably dressed ladies. Search | Add | 6 | Dennis "Scorcher" Williams | Dennis Williams | In Reggae music, like other genres, artists and producers leave their mark on an industry and then quietly fade away. In the ‘early days in Jamaica – the late 60’s- names like JJ, Clancy Eccles, Coxsone, Duke Reid, Bunny Lee, Prince Buster, Lee Perry, Keith Hudson, Joe Gibson and Randy’s and High Note were the producers known by the public. However, there was one name which kept appearing on some blank ‘killa’ 45s played in the dancehalls: SCORCHER. Every sound system owner spoke about Scorcher. A part of every major sound system’s routine, involved sending the DJ/selector to ‘check wid Scorcher and see what him have.’ Scorcher began delivering records to sound system owners at age 12. “I used to deliver records on my roller skates on Sunday mornings when the operators were just getting out of bed,” he recalls. But Scorcher was to move way beyond that. By age 16, he had teamed up with George Wade and Osmond ‘Junior’ Holton to form ‘The Scorchers’ and did their first record – Ugly Man- for Lloyd the Matador. It was an instant hit with the Jamaican public. It skyrocketed to number one on both Jamaican radio charts, selling some 70,000 copies! And it was then, ‘Lloyd said to me boy you are Scorcher’. The name stuck ever since. Other records charting on the Matador label, included ‘Hold on Tight Mary Ann,’ in 1968 which dethroned the then number one single in Jamaica from the Ethiopians, ‘Everything Crash’’; ‘Tighten Up Yourself’ and ‘What a Condition,’ a song along the lines of ‘Everything Crash.’ Scorcher had proven himself as a producer and began to attract the attention of the biggest names in the business, both artists and studio owners alike. As a producer, Scorcher worked with the then Federal Records. Duke Reid, among the biggest names at the time, but it was at Studio One that Scorcher really came into his own, producing notable hit of that period, from artists like the Gaylads, Larry Marshall, Bop and the Belltones and a host of still unnamed ‘scorchers’ on blank labels. These were the favorites of the sound systems; the one in a million hits that never made it to radio. Today Scorcher is still producing. He migrated to California in 1969 and toured Europe, the US-Pacific region and North America for a while performing at nightclubs and promoting concerts. In 1970, he released the first reggae LP, conceived, recorded and produced in California, “What a Bam Bam.” In 2013 Scorcher comes back full circle to his Skinhead Reggae roots teaming up with Jandisc Records producer J Bonner and Jandisc house band ‘the Black Emeralds.’ His single titled ‘Record Breaker’ is due out May 2013 and highlights his ‘talkover’ talents as a deejay proving once again that there’s simply nothing Scorcher can’t conquer. I never quite figured out how to pull that off, and thank goodness for that. Search | Add | 6 | Asenath Noir | Alberto Viel | Italian minimal dark ambient project, started in 2006 and run by A.V., based in Piedmont. Inspired in his first phase by local legends, linked to nature, he later turned towards a more modern approach, turning his attention to modern society and the disease it represents. With an aesthetic of urban decadence, monotony and repetitiveness, he tries to recreate, through dark environmental sounds, the urban decadence of the hive cities, drawing panoramas of imposed solitude, alienation, and anguish of the failure. The feelings that fill the heart of modern man today. A.S is a faded color photo of a street crowded with cars after a storm, the desire to go home and the anguish of finding it empty. |

The Band "refuses" fame by declining contract signing, by not making any promotion and by keeping member names unknown. Don't look for albums on any retail store displays... His father, and the twin brother of his father, were also musicians in the 60ties & 70ties. Dirk was for example growing up in the "Guru Guru Haus" very deep in the Odenwald (Odin Woods) near Heidelberg for some years, getting in contact with all kind of instruments, crazy freaks, krautrock & thick air from a lot of smoke ! At one gig of the band Guru Guru, he was even Elektrolurch ! Maybe you know what Elektrolurch is. He fell to the ground because of a cable, and people had fun, but this is another story... Nowadays he is putting out music under the pseudonyms Amp-err, Pndk12770 & Van Kraut. He is releasing his music on his own label Aggregat Records with the sublabel Jedentag Musik. The music is more or less to put in the Electronic Genre (Electro, House, Techno, Minimal, TripHop, New Wave, etc.). |

Search | Add | 6 | Srednep | Kevin Srednep - Vocals Mike Sarkisyan - Guitars / Bass Kevin Talley - Drums ------------------------------------- Since 2013, Srednep have been meticulously crafting a near apocalyptic vision of the future. Highlighting issues around corporate machines and propaganda their music is as much an attack on the modern world as it is a forewarning to our future. Beginning as a studio outfit, the industrial infused darkness of Srednep became channeled through the creative outputs of Kevin (Srednep) on vocals and Mike Sarkisyan (Spineshank) on Guitar and Bass. In the absence of a drummer, the band conjured up plenty of electronic chaos to make their sound nothing short of formidable. Shortly after the release of the Silence EP Kevin Talley (Suffocation, etc.) joined the ranks as the band’s drummer who gave the band a more cohesive identity. Residing in the Netherlands, Kevin and his electronic allies from Los Angeles and Texas did a more Metal focused debut album Social Masks. A record to further explore the dissonant landscapes that engulfed previous offerings such as ‘The Sinner’ and ‘Social Masks’. What’s more, if their creative energies are anywhere near as honed as what was found in their animated portrayal of ‘WW3’, Srednep may well be leading listeners into the final days of mankind. Emerging from the ruin of times long worn face a sole survivor stretches outward to toward where the sun once beamed in the now post-apocalyptic skies. Like all things that have come to pass, society has grown apart. Walking through the desolate streets, people appear more disconnected from each other, as the multi-national corporations devour the fading pulse of a rotting world. Srednep, a defiant force within the howling winds of decay harness drums and guitars, forging their next distress call on top of a near fallen tower as they document the survival of this crumbling landscape. In a world where only the strong survive, each track is meticulously crafted as the rust coated antenna transmits into the night to whoever is out there. The bleak tonal movements emanating from Social Masks explores the fractured state of the human condition; who are involuntarily plugged into the flat screened veil of social media. This illusory tool of communication has become the very means of separation as the black blooded cogs gnaw flesh and part paths. "Everyone wants to be heard, but no one wants to fucking listen. We the fucking parasites devouring this planet. We the anti-cells who create our own prisons." (Kevin Srednep). While humanity has become a parasite upon the earth and Srednep's meditative glance into our dysfunction is one that both implores the brave to listen and terrifies the faint of heart to turn back towards mind formed prisons.Pushing themselves towards a more metallic terrain, devotees of their former transmissions will recognise their trademark frequencies. If their previous efforts pointed toward the darkening of skies this next offering is very void itself. The light has truly been snuffed out from the world. (Bio by Ben Spencer)

Although musical creation has indeed accompanied her for many years, it was not until 2016 when she first presents her work to a live audience, focusing on sounds and styles such as ambient, drone and industrial. In 2017, the music label Eclectic Reactions from Bilbao in Spain released her first work, “Irauten”. Since then she has taken part in festivals such as the ODD (Barcelona), Nokodek, Dantz, DobleCheck (Donostia-San Sebastián), Kubeats (Urretxu), Inmersiones (Vitoria-Gasteiz), The Alhóndiga Experimental Music Programme, Mem (Bilbao), and furthermore in projects and collectives like Le Larraskito Kluba, Gertrude Noise Meeting, Dena Nahi Dugu (Atari), Música Dispersa or Mise-En-Scène Productions. Despite her work methodology of constant change, her favourite areas of experimentation are field recordings, synthesis (especially granular) and digital processes in real time. An imagery where there are no words. Compression/containment and expansion, chaos and order, calm and violence. Everything is in question, everything is the way it is in a cosmic, introspective and oneiric journey where identity and duality lose all their meaning. Sound alchemy, a thunderous coven, digital paganism and a necromantic spirit. «Revolutionary is the idea that creativity will save the world» |

Search | Add | 6 | Gæoudji Sygnok | Parl Kristian Bjørn Vester | Gæoudji SYGNOK was an alias used by Danish/Faroese experimental artist Kristian Vester ([a=Goodiepal]) in collaboration with his former students and local artists [a1577809] & VJ Cancer/VJ Livstræt and old friend [a=Poul Erik Veigaard]. Hvad also operated an eponymous [l=Syg Nok] label (2008–2014), for which Goodiepal mastered most releases. Vester established the SYGNOK "band" in 2008 after expulsion from the [l447929], where he taught for four years until Mort Aux Vaches Ekstra Extra compositional game scenario and underlying "Radical Computer Music" theory were finally deemed unsuitable for the academic curriculum. In response, Gæoudjiparl declared a "Gentleman's war on the stupidity of modern computer music and media-based art" against the Royal Academy of Music in Århus. In April 2010, SYGNOK posted a YouTube clip of the Eventide H8000FW rack-mounted FX processor they stole from DIEM studios as Danegæld ("Danish debt," an ancient form of protection money paid to Vikings). In October 2010, Gæoudji SYGNOK presented [r=2513506] album. Named after Martin Lindholm's record store in Århus and pressed at his Dansk Vinyl Produktion, it was co-released by [l79184] and [l189193]. Limited to 500-1050 copies (exact quantities disputed), "Route 66 Eksperimentet" had no playable grooves, with intricate etchings covering the entire LP surface. The cover listed over 30 prominent independent labels that had previously offered Goodiepal releases. Vester finally delivered one "ultimate LP" to all of them (including labels that already went defunct, like [l=Lucky Kitchen]), even assigning "proper" catalog numbers, — without any communication or prior notice to involved companies, though. The record explicitly limited the retail price to 250 DKK ($33) on the spine, but each copy included a genuine 500 Danish Kroner bill, doubling the buyer's investment. Around 40 copies were "hacked" by DJ Hvad and VJ Cancer, who secretly replaced the money with counterfeit SYGNOK bills. The album instantly sold out with widespread publicity from tier-1 Danish press and TV. In March 2011, [l79184] released three limited-edition "add-ons," all sharing the ESC18 catalog number. The cheapest Fortsat ("Continued") edition at 19.50 DKK ($3) contained a photocopy of Kristian Vester's credit card with a PIN code; it was supposedly connected to a 7000 DKK (~$920) account. The more expensive Taget Til Ekstremerne ("Taken to the Extremes") at 78.23 DKK ($11) came with a 1000 "Romani bill," a made-up currency that's expected to have legal tender once Roma people establish the government. The most obscure Cyber Papegøjen Skudt edition at 750 DKK ($98) had signed blank checks linked to Vester's bank account with 200,000 DKK ($26,000). All three records had a hyperlink to download accompanying [a3910381] "audio responses" printed directly on the LP label. (In September 2011, Gæoudji Sygnok released a double cassette [r=3135603] with a more substantial 180-min "walkthrough"). In subsequent interviews, Vester estimated he gave away close to 752,000 DKK ($99,200) in various "Route 66 Eksperimentet" editions, going severely into debt; supposedly, the artist borrowed money from his Ukrainian friend in organized crime. The 2011 mini-documentary "SYGNOK & The War For Radical Computer Music" also claimed Goodiepal sold the "improved" Eventide H8000 device taken from DIEM to a private collector without the consent of other SYGNOK members to partially fund the release (hence the "Sygnok bill" payback). Gæoudji SYGNOK produced two "art/anti-records" for the Dutch art foundation [l=De Player] and its label [l=Drop Of Blood Records]: a 10" dubplate for "Sound as a Weapon" exhibition in February 2011, followed by [r=4833921] (2013) polystyrene lathe cut. One of the last SYGNOK artifacts dated 2016, a self-released 7" single with covers of Pol Erik's 1970s band Daizy. The inlay referred to Goodiepal's current collective involved in similar actionism, [a6749625]. |

They worked closely with a variety of biker brands showcasing their music at collaborative moto events. Their music has also been used to help promote charities such as Make-A-Wish and various addiction recovery programs. Following the release of the first 3 singles, Broken Dollars released a full length album Hope & Fate in September 2019. It included re-mastered singles and brand-new studio recordings. At the start of 2020, a year musicians will never forget the band release Black Skulls, but after the entertainments industry was forced to shutdown, the band were forced to pull out from some of their biggest plans to date. Due to the excessive time spent away, in July 2021 both Luke & Simon decided it was time to close this chapter and move onto separate projects. But, not without leaving something for all of those who had followed their journey. The final offering Strangers (Let Rock N' Roll Save Your Soul) was their farewell track, released 13th August. Luke continues his lockdown born solo project, Shadow Bones and who knows what else will come from this duo in the future.
