Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Everything they've released were done by their own label, 1.2.3 (Hi-fu-mi) Records. There are two tracks appeared on the "Ranchiki Omnibus 2" 5 x flexi comp. Not much is known about them, but their music style is reminiscent of Jiga, Molugu, Sha-London, Geizz, or (early) The Execute. |

Search | Add | 4 | Ricardo Parronchi | Destra (Brazilian Prog Rock Band) | Destra had its embryo in 1997 with the name of Aquila, as Ricardo Parronchi was a bassist in a hard rock band with the same name formed by Túlio Regis, ex-G3 (vocal) workshop, Dico, ex-Katsbarnea (guitar) ), playing today with Catalau (ex-coup d'état) and Victor Alexandre, (drums). With the end of the band, Ricardo Parronchi decided to start a progressive rock band, still using the name Aquila, since the idea of the name had been his. The proposal was to make a heavy sound but with a lot of melody, mixing metal and progressive rock among other styles like jazz, mpb and blues. The lyrics will be sung in English and although they are not religious, directly or indirectly, they would all have a Christian message. It took 1 year until the members of what would be training for the first record in the studio were found, a demo entitled “Out of the game“, which had 4 songs and had in its formation Douglas Vanuchi (vocals), Eduardo Parronchi, brother of the bassist (guitar), Victor Alexandre (drums), Ricardo Parronchi (bass) and Marcos Ian (guest musician, keyboard), shortly after recording the demo Victor leaves the band and then Fabio Fernandes (ex-Portrait) enters ) With the demo in hand the band gets a contract with Megahard Records for a full album, although due to some differences the band changes its label in the middle of the recordings and signs with Destroyer Records, ending as well as recordings of the CD at the end of 1999, with co-producer guitarist Heros Trench, (Korzus) and also counting on Marcos Ian as a guest on keyboards. Changing the name to Destra, the band then released in January 2000 their 1st CD Sea of Doubt, containing 10 songs, the work obtained a great repercussion from the public and critics, being highly praised by all magazines and specialized sites , even without exterior. After the release of the CD, a band performs several tests with keyboardists and finally gets a fixed keyboard, Marcelo Saorim, then performing programs in several cities and states in Brazil, being invited to cable and radio programs like BACKSTAGE (from legendary Vitão Bonesso) in BRASIL 2000. In 2001, a band had a very low loss with the departure of vocalist Douglas Vanuchi, a band was almost sold out and with several shows scheduled when it happened. After fulfilling some commitments the vocalist leaves the band definitively for personal reasons and after a few months of testing the replacement would be Ricardo Cassau, but due to scheduling problems he would not stay long in the band. With no way to postpone the band, he then calls José Ricardo (ex-singer of Dream Theater cover), as a guest singer to sing in 2 bonus songs for the re-release of the CD Sea of Doubt. With him the band played some shows and would still participate in the "Tribute to Viper and Angra", an event that featured some of the main metal bands in the country. It is worth remembering that Destra was highly praised by André Matos himself (ex-vocalist from Angra and currently on Shaman), being mentioned even on its official website, it was during this period that the band started to have the idea of making a conceptual CD with several vocalists participating. The band would still do several tests with vocalists arriving again to count on Ricardo Cassau and Alexandre Silva for some shows, then in 2002 they started the pre-production of the rock opera “Joe´s Rhapsody” and it was at that time that the band met vocalist Neno Fernando (currently on Abstract Shadows), the vocalist participated in the pre-production of some songs, then he was invited to sing in the music video for “You Should Believe“ (this version was included on the CD of the 2nd Metal Mission compilation). At that time, keyboardist Marcelo Saorim left the group, being replaced in a short time by Maxsuel Rodrigo (Divine Works), who quickly adapted to the band, actively participating in the band's new compositions. Vocalist Neno also participated in the song “Dry Way” (for the project “The Book of Exodus”, sharing vocals with Ricardo Parronchi) and made a small participation in the song “Mother, Father” for the tribute of the band Journey, already that most of the music was sung by the bassist. He also did several shows with the group, including a highly praised performance in the tribute to the band Stryper, which had in its cast the biggest white metal bands of the national scene, but despite having a beautiful voice, his melodic style did not fit with the band, which was taking a notoriously more seventies course, which made the band start looking for a new singer again. At that time bassist Ricardo Parronchi was recording the song “Waiting in God” with some friends, which would be the entry song for the project “The Book of Exodus” (since the band invited to work, Stauros, cannot participate in the last minute, because a 3-member low had happened), when he met a vocalist who caught his attention precisely because he had a timbre and way of singing that was very different from what he was seeing on the scene at the time, because his voice reminded him a lot the 70's hard rock vocalists, vocalist Rodrigo Grecco. Ricardo then invited him to sing the project's song with him, the result was so satisfactory that Rodrigo was invited to be part of the band Destra. In 2003, the band left its former record label and closed a contract with two record labels in partnership (Avantage and Frontline Records), and after recording the instrumental and some guest vocalists' participation, the label together with the band decided to launch a first version of “Joe´s Rhapsody” (scheduled for early February) with Rodrigo sharing the vocals with the bassist Ricardo, thus showing the new phase of the band, not abandoning however the initial idea of launching this CD with several vocalists scheduled for the second semester of 2004. |

Search | Add | 4 | J. F. Nelson | Third-person alias of [a95466], that he used when writing the foreword and afterword in the "Those were the days" book. About the origins of the name, Marian supposedly said: "Some say, his full name is jonathan frederik nelson, others insist on jordan franklin nelson and others call him jefferey ferdinand nixon. reportedly he established the so called 'nelson project' at the end of the seventies that later became alphaville. his identity is a mystery. and it will continue to be. on 'afternoons in utopia' they described his function as 'spiritual light(n)ing', later on he appeared as an 'illuminator'. in the lyrics of 'lies' (forever young) and 'lassie come home' (afternoons in utopia) he was some kind of visitor, and maybe in some other songs as well. The album of Serge Gainsbourg called 'Histoire de Melody Nelson' seems to deal with his person. Around 1984 he disappeared. On 'dreamscapes' he was mentioned being a traveller, but his current residence seems to be out of this world."

Search | Add | 4 | Slaughter Haus 5 | Back in 1984, a unique heavy metal band was formed in West Seattle. Slaughter Haüs 5 was conceived as a glam/gothic-type metal band with a matching look and style and a powerful sound. Influenced by the New York Dolls, KISS, Hanoi Rocks, Angel City, TKO, Ratt and early Motley Crue, they featured matching hair, makeup and outfits, and continued the crossover vibe of Overlord, Shadow, Bondage Boys and others before them (hard driving heavy metal/hard rock music with a slightly punky singer and street vibe). They were initially a three-piece , then expanded to five-piece with two guitars, ultimately slimming down to a four-piece in the fall of 1985 after Tim Jones left the band. They recorded and self-released a 7" single in 1985, and had a song on the local compilation album, Metal Meltdown, later that same year. They steadily built up a following with their killer live show and original music, but sadly split up in 1988 after failing to land a record deal. Members went on to play in bands such as: War Babies, Sleep Capsule, Black Is Black, Gunn, Rebel, Broken Toys and Palooka. Slaughter Haüs 5 recently reunited for an amazing, and very well-received, live performance for the first time in almost thirty years at the N.W. Metalfest in Seattle in March, 2019.

Search | Add | 4 | The Nace Bros. Band | US country music band based in Kansas City, Missouri, headed by brothers [a=Jimmy Nace] and [a=David Nace]. Fourth generation performers their musical heritage began in the latter part of the 19th century with their great-great grandfather the classically trained violinist Valandingham Nace. The legacy continued in the 1920’s and 30’s with their grandfather Percy a multi-instrumentalist and square dance caller. By the late 40’s their father was playing box suppers and square dances. Johnny Nace progressed from playing rural dances to leading the house bands on the regional radio and television programs “Hillbilly Jamboree” and “Circle Six Ranch”. He recorded rockabilly in the late 50’s before finding his musical home during the golden age of honky-tonk. An astute songwriter he led a top notch band to regional success with songs like “Sing me the blues” and “Blue Notes”. Their 1997 release “Roots of Steel” is a tribute to their father and the lessons he taught them. In their 37th year as a touring group the Nace Brothers are poised for a larger audience.

Before Modern Gank was produced by Log Zhelebour, this group had changed names several times. Finally, they used the name "Route 66" (from the song The Rolling Stones) and by agreement with Log Zhelebour this band decided to use the name Modern Gank. In 2001, Modern Gank (Mogank) released their first album entitled "Ular 2001". Then in 2003, an album entitled "Si Dolly" was launched by the Modern Gank children. The members of Modern Gank also feel the ins and outs of members of a band. In 2005 Adi (guitar) and Paunk (bass) left this group. In 2006, Modern Gank (Mogank) released another album entitled "Terus Terang". However, after this third album, news and musical activities of Modern Gank personnel were no longer heard. They prefer to take a hiatus from the Indonesian music scene for 5 years. In 2012 this group released their fourth album entitled This Is Modern Gank, and Adi (Mogank's first guitarist) was joined again and a new bassist was recruited, namely Hardiansyah Maulana (Brams). Modern Gank's fourth album was handled by Indie Label, where previously they had collaborated with Logiss Records for the first, second and third albums.

He earned music degrees from the University of Wisconsin Madison, and Harvard University; and taught music composition and contemporary music for 23 years at the University at Buffalo. Amidst a career of composing mainly for traditional orchestral instruments, Jeff recently began re-exploring analog and digital synthesis, favoring the compositional limitations of small hardware devices like the Elektron Digitakt over the modern practices of laptop-based production. Using various hacks and adaptations, he creates uncanny musical vignettes that feature fat, bass-heavy hip hop and hauntingly otherworldly melodies, while evoking music boxes, retro VHS training videos, and mid-century advertising jingles. In 2021, Jeff will release Signaling, his first album of entirely electronic, beat-oriented music.

Search | Add | 4 | The Boulting Brothers | Boulting brothers was a prolific English filmmakers duo of two identical twins, John Edward Boulting (1913—1985) and Roy Alfred Clarence Boulting (1913—2001), best known for a series of socially conscious comedies in the 1950s and 1960s. The brothers typically worked as a producer-director team, with one of the credits assigned to either John or Roy and the overall production colloquially known as a "Boulting Brothers film." When John Boulting died of cancer in 1985, Roy stopped making films. Roy Boulting began working in film sales around 1933, subsequently moving to production. He served as an assistant director on the 1936 short comedy Apron Fools. John and Roy established their Charter Film Productions company and began directing and filming shorts. A few of their works, such as The Landlady (1937) and Consider Your Verdict (1938), soon gained critical and commercial acclaim. Roy directed his first feature-length Hollywood movie after the Second World War, the Sailor of the King, for [l=20th Century Fox], starring [a=Jeffrey Hunter, Jr.] in 1953. Their second WWII naval war epic, this time for [l=Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer], Seagulls over Sorrento, featuring [a=Gene Kelly] in 1954, had less prominence. In the following decade, Boultings primarily focused on satire to highlight various British societal issues, from academia and corrupted unions to government bureaucracy or the inefficient legal system. The series began with John's look on military life, Private's Progress in 1956, starring [a=Richard Attenborough], [a=Terry-Thomas], and Ian Carmichael; it became the second biggest box office hit in the UK that year. The Lucky Jim followed in 1957, adapted from an eponymous novel by [a=Kingsley Amis] and set in academia. In 1966, the brothers directed and produced [m=257716], a northern comedy with [a=Paul McCartney]'s soundtrack starring John Mills and his teenage daughter [a=Hayley Mills]. Roy Boulting and Hayley had a 33-year age difference but began a relationship during the shoot; they married in 1971. (In 1987, [a=The Smiths] used The Family Way's still-frame as a cover for [m=21109] single.)
