Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 10 | Niccolò B | Niccolò Bonini | Born in 1991, Niccolo’s relationship with electronic music started as a teenager when he began to frequent nightclubs as an escape from ordinary life in his adopted hometown, Bergamo (Italy). The nightlife scene excited him, particurarly the feeling of connection on the dance floor and the power of music to create strong emotions in a crowd. Music always had a significant meaning in his life, symbolising freedom and becoming ultimately a bold statement for his identity. Around the year 2014 he felt an inner force telling him to leave everything behind and take his relationship with music further, inspired by the sound of many artists from different musical styles. This process of musical discovery and curiosity still permeates up to this day. In 2016 Niccolo released his first track “Out In Space (Original Mix)” under Aeriform Records, before going on releasing other tracks for digital record labels such as Suffused Music, Inmost Records and Mystic Carousel Records. 2017 was marked by more releases on Mystic Carosuel Records, for which he produced a series of remixes and original tracks which owed him some reactions and support from the community. His self-taught skills and style are in a state of constant evolution, both on the side of producing music as well as performing it. Taking influences from older records, his sound can always be recognised by its keen sense of melody, as well as a penetrating and vibrating rhythm. Those are the ingredients for the uplifting musical experience he wants to convey. The year 2018 brings him new and exciting challenges: Niccolo moves to Berlin, (Germany), the global capital of electronic music, where he soon has the chance to perform a live set at Kaffee Burger, in the very city center. This experience gives him the opportunity to give an even more precise direction to his musical journey, focusing on a very specific sound which melts together traits of Techno, Trance and Dance music. In 2019, Niccolo starts working on his very own project: record label, podcast series and nightclub in Berlin, under the name of “FUCKED UP!”. Find more info at: www.fuckedupberlin.de. Search | Add | 10 | The Amplified Version | This early Jesus movement band is remembered for its album Whatcha Gonna Do? which revealed their indebtedness to producer Gary S.Paxton. Their sound was distinctive in its use of brass (seven horns), recalling such early-’70s outfits as Chicago or Blood, Sweat, and Tears. Two Paxton songs received a lot of attention: "Jesus Is My Lawyer in Heaven" and "Jesus Keeps Takin' Me Higher and Higher." These and the title song constitute the album's high-energy numbers. Another Paxton song, "The Gadget Man," is noteworthy for its complex and original structure. (keyboard), Bruce Hibbard (vocals, guitar), Jorge Marsal (percussion), and Shirley [Monroe] Marsal (vocals) were also members of the group at some point. Search | Add | 10 | Tammy Cline | Marilyn Margaret Croff | Marilyn Margaret Croff, (born 16th June 1953), Hull, Humberside, England. The teenage Croff was performing in working-men’s clubs in the Hull area and gave up her job at a starch factory because the chemicals were affecting her voice. She met her husband, Rod Boulton, when she sang with a local band, the Falcons. After the birth of their daughter they became a duo and, on a whim, Rod named them Tammy And Dave Cline. Although not intentional, it was the ideal name for Marilyn Croff, whose strongest influences were Tammy Wynette and Patsy Cline. With another Hull band, Uncle Sam, Tammy Cline did well in the national Marlboro Talent Contest in 1978. When they decided to turn fully professional, Uncle Sam changed its line-up and became Southern Comfort. Success on the television talent showSearch For A Star followed, and Tammy recorded in Nashville - one single for the UK market, ‘Love Is A Puzzle’, and another for the US, ‘I Don’t Know How To Tell Him’. Although chart success eluded her, she was voted Britain’s Top Female Country Singer for five consecutive years. In 1986, Cline and Little Ginny formed Two Hearts and were awarded the title of Top European Duo in the Country Music Round Up National Poll. They released a self titled album in 1989. In the early 90s Cline retired from the music business to concentrate on her family life. During her career Cline built a strong following around the UK clubs and became a seasoned broadcaster. |

Search | Add | 10 | Robert Maxwell Case | Robert Maxwell Case | Robert Maxwell Case, born in Olean, NY, was raised in the rural Appalachin Mountain village of Franklinville, NY. In junior high he began playing guitar and singing in rockabilly bands, performing after high school basketball games and at teen clubs. His primary group, The Vibratones, performed seasonally at Lime Lake Pavilion dance hall where Levon Helm & The Hawks and The Rockin' Rebels ("Wild Weekend") also played regularly. He was graduated from Ten Broeck Academy / Franklinville Central School and attended the University of Buffalo for two years where his bands were contemporaries of Stan & The Ravens, The Rising Sons (featuring Jimmy Caliri) and Ronnie James Dio & Elf. (Robert's group opened for Link Wray & The Wraymen and sometimes performed as "The Roddymen," WKBW deejay and "Price Is Right" announcer Rod Roddy's record hop group.) Robert transferred to St. Bonaventure University and was graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Business Management. While there he worked in small R&B and pop-rock combos, gaining an opening act slot for Patti Page at the Three Rivers Inn in Syracuse, NY. Following college, he moved to New York City and signed with Herb Alpert's A&M Records, releasing one single, "For Awhile We Helped Each Other Out" b/w "When I'm Wrong You Never Forget." After brief stints with Eastman Kodak Co. and the U.S. Army, Robert began performing as a soloist in the Rochester, NY metro. His singles "Cookie & Lila" and "Movin' In The Same Circles" both charted Top 10 on country station WNYR and his original, "Livin' The Life," received national notice in Billboard magazine. Over the next 15 years he released two vinyl LPs, "Let The Cowboy Dance" and "Rest Your Love On Me Awhile," four cassette-only releases, "That's All," "Let It Be Me," "Case Country," and "Always," as well as numerous vinyl singles. During this time, Robert appeared as opening act in concert with national recording artists including: Ricky Nelson, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Marty Robbins, Tammy Wynette, The Statler Brothers, Riders In The Sky, Asleep At The Wheel, Sonny James, The Bellamy Brothers, Little Jimmy Dickens, David Houston, Cal Smith, the Original Drifting Cowboys (Hank Williams Sr.’s band), and Ronny Robbins (Marty’s son.) Robert performed regularly at the Americana Rochester hotels, the Country Warehouse, the Schoolhouse, the Periwinkle Pub, and was a staple of the city's annual Lilac Festival. For three years he owned and operated country music venue Case's California Ranch on Honeoye Lake in New York state's Finger Lakes district. The Gannett Rochester Democrat & Chronicle newspaper's "Best Of" reader's poll named him the area's top local country music artist. Robert was a guest entertainer aboard a country music theme cruise on Norwegian Cruise Lines' SS Norway starring George Jones and Mickey Gilley who suggested he try Branson, MO. He began ten seasons on the Branson strip, entertaining at such venues as the Country Pub, Roy Clark's Loft, the Polynesian Princess showboat (music director), and the Welk Theatre's Canteen Lounge, releasing the cassette-only "Alive And Well In Branson, MO" and the Hawaiian-themed "Holo Aku." Simultaneously he worked seven winter seasons at the Orlando, FL metro's western-themed resort River Ranch. After a year in Ft. Lauderdale (Armadillo Cafe and Coop's in Davie. FL), Robert relocated to the San Antonio / Austin, TX area, performing regularly in Gruene (Gruene River Grille) and Canyon Lake (the Lakeview, Papa Docks, the Old Windmill, and Anchor's Landing). There he was opening act in concert for Earl Poole Ball (Johnny Cash band), Two Tons Of Steel, and the Ace In The Hole band (George Strait band.) For the last several years Robert has called Slick, OK (Tulsa metro) home, entertaining one year in Branson, MO (Big Cedar Lodge) and five years at Tulsa's Western Country Diner. He's a Polish artist tranferred in Italy from the age of six years. He founded in 1991 with David Saggiorato the Kor-at, group of industrial music experiences in which he plays percussions. The band does some concerts and does soundtrack of the remake of the film of David Lynch “Eraserhead”, realized by a Turin independent film maker. Unfortunately recordings of that period do not exist. In 1992 he left Kor-at and he recorded the first solo job with the name of Glockenspiel, published like demotape. In 1993 he founded BIANCA BELMONT with Alberto Pasino. The band, been born like duo, increases to five elements in 1995, with Renzo Razzano on second bass, Marcello Turco on trumpet and Max to the saxophone. They recorded two demotapes, respectively in 1993 and 1995, both remastereded in the end of 1995,and edited dy Setola di Maiale. Between 1997 and 1998 he recorded and published the first “homely deliriums” with the name of PENTLICZEK, using ethnic percussions, self builded instruments, guitars and tapes. he participated with this project in some compilations of the sicilian label Snowdonia: “Orchestre Meccaniche Italiane” (1997), “Sbim Sbam” (1998), “International Gluttons” (1999). In 1998 he began a collaboration stably with Stefano Giust and his SETOLA DI MAIALE label, he defines Stefano: the “better companion to sonic deviating lines” and with him he founded the "anti-jazz" project called GBUR. In the recording of the first job of Gbur, beside the two members of Bianca Belmont (Renzo and Marcello), joins Paul Caleo. In 1999 the original line up always changes and in place of Renzo and Marcello there was three new elements: Ivan Pilat to tenor and baritone saxes,Daniel “el desviado reverendo surrealista” Pagliero, also knows like LO DEV ALM to the electronics and Maurizio Suppo aka Dimensionidol.Paul Caleo who originally played the guitar now handle one instrument self builded, named “Caleophone”. With this line up they plays in 1999 at 48th BIENNALE-esposizione internazionale d'arte in Venice and the next year at OFFEST festival -meeting of Italian independent labels in Milan. In a night of December of 2000 it records with Stefano Giust and Daniele Pagliero a series of unexpected improvised traces that will come later on published with the name of BABELIS PROJECT, always on Setoladimaiale and in coproduction with the Mexican label GENITAL PROD. |

Search | Add | 10 | S.K. Grundy | Shirley K. Grundy | S.K. Grundy He directed the orchestra of a Baptist College in Springfield, Missouri. He wrote lots of barbershop arrangements, many of which were considered daring, audacious, and unstylistic. They contained many unusual twists. One of Grundy's masterpieces was "A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square," which he arranged for the Confederates, and revived some twenty-five years later by the Vocal Majority. In hindsight, many feel that Grundy was ahead of his time. Those who heard his work didn't understand it and Grundy was written off as a "wild man." But he was a superb musician, and in the sixties he went to California to do vocal and instrumental arrangements for Lawrence Welk. Many of us recall quartets appearing on the show, usually featuring bass Larry Hooper and tenor Joe Feeney singing songs undoubtedly arranged by S. K. It seems that alcoholism cost him his job with Welk, at which time he returned to Springfield, where he continued to deteriorate from alcoholism until his death. Unfortunately it is hard to find original Grundy arrangments because Grundy would write out 2/3 of an arrangement on a bar napkin, bring it to quartet rehearsal, teach it by rote, and finish (and further refine!) the arrangement on the fly. This done, he felt no particular need to bother writing the entire arrangement down. |

His real name was Munshi Muhammad Kasem. But in the world of entertainment he assumed the name K Mallik, just to hide his real identity in the interest of business. In 1902, he moved to Kolkata in search of livelihood and was employed in a shop owned by a Marwari. Later he moved to Kanpur, where he worked for Raleigh Brothers, which traded in hides. Nothing is known about K Mallik's early schooling in music, but while at Kanpur he studied music under Abdul Hai Hakim. He also learnt baiji (courtesan) songs at Kanpur. Back in Kolkata, he started performing in small functions, and gradually gained popularity. He had a melodious voice and recorded shyamasangit for Becker Records. It was at this time that he assumed the name 'K Mallik', because it was feared that a record of Hindu devotional songs sung by a Muslim would not attract consumers. Later, he recorded Hindi songs under the name 'Pandit Shankar Mishra' and Islamic songs under his original name. After he became popular, His Master's Voice recorded many of his songs. In addition to Syamasangit, Mallik also sang songs by rabindranath tagore, kazi nazrul islam, rajanikanta sen and atulprasad sen. His singing of Amar matha nata kare dao he (Make me bow at thy feet) by Rabindranath, Bandhu eman badale tumi kothay (O my friend, where are you now when the rain is falling?) by Atulprasad and Baghichay bulbuli tui phulshakhate disne aji dol (O bulbul, do not shake the blossom-laden branch) by Nazrul stirred the emotion of audiences. His other famous recordings include Aj elo khushir Eid (Joyous Eid has arrived), Anandini Uma ajo amar anandini Uma (O my joyful Uma, the wife of Shiva), Amar Uma, kai Giriraj (O my Uma, where is the Mountain-King?), Amar nayane nayan rakhi (With your eyes on mine), Asichhen habibe Khoda, moder nabi kamliwala (Here comes the darling of God, our Prophet Muhammad) etc. The last song was a duet with abbasuddin ahmed. K Mallik performed a variety of songs from 1909 to 1940. He became so popular that each of his records sold more than 30 to 40 thousand copies. However, despite his fabulous earnings, his final days were passed in Kusum, his native village, in stringent financial circumstances. During his residence in the village, K Mallik passed his time teaching songs to farmers. He died here in 1959. [Wakil Ahmed] Ref. https://en.banglapedia.org/index.php/Mallik,_K |

Search | Add | 10 | Feenix13 | Feenix 13 was one of the founder members of Spiral Tribe. She was a lynchpin of the sound system’s event organisation and played a vital role in the design and décor. Responsible for many of the later flyers and heavily involved in the conception of the event spaces, she helped define the ‘look’ of the sound system. When the Spirals travelled to Europe it was Feenix 13 who coined the word ‘Teknival’. A word which would become synonymous with the new underground movement. At the end of the 1990’s, she fulfilled a similar role in the Sound Conspiracy sound system and embraced video as a design tool. Since 2000 she has been the resident designer for the Audiotrix record label and has more recently been specializing in computer based digital imagery and animation, which she incorporates into her live VJ mixes. Today, Feenix 13 is SP23’s VJ and central to the graphic design team. Her digital remixes of archetypal imagery and mutation of symbolic themes has given SP23 its own, mysterious, visual atmosphere.

Search | Add | 10 | Omer Coleman Jr. | Omer Gene Coleman II | Born: Sep 4, 1953 Died: Nov 17, 2020 Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri in the late 1970’s Omer was running a mobile disco that ended up using live instruments. It incorporated a spectacular stage show with smoke and light effects. Along with other stage props, including a spaceship styled car, the stage attention inspired him to create his first solo album in the early 1980’s under his moniker “Starship Commander Woo-Woo”. The record itself had a small amount of local success, enough that he started his own label “[l59710] Records”. The name "[l59710]" is actually his first name "Omer" spelled backwards. Releasing 2 Electro styled tracks similar to “Egyptian Lover” and others groups from that era he finally scored a local hit. Omer independently wrote, recorded, produced and released all of his records. By the late 1990’s after his frustrations with radio jocks and the way promotions let him down, he had moved to a gospel sound. Working with young talents and helping to get gospel based hip-hop artists more awareness, he is still active in the community. |

Search | Add | 10 | Baby Gar Figuer | Baby GAR Figuer | Baby GAR Figuer started his journey in music when he was attending elementary school in Charleston, SC. They had Teachers Work Day or something similar to that when a few workers stopped by at the auditorium. There were police officers, firemen, and a few others. He seen someone with a violin in their hand. So, he went up to that person and long story short, he started learning how to play. From that he graduated to middle school and he got good grades in all subjects but, he was doing his best in band class, that's when he learned how to play the trombone and percussion. When he graduated from there he went off to high school and taught his self to play the piano by ear, producing music, writing and recording just to name a few. And, there you have it. That's the introductory story of how Baby GAR Figuer got started in music. |

Born in Greece, he's lived, played, and studied in 12 cities, 6 countries, and 2 continents. In a past life he had two releases with the new wave band Art Of Parties, a fun time with his brother, Δημήτρη Βασιλάκη (Dimitrios Vassilakis) and few good friends, releasing one single with Creep Records and one DIY album under a label put together with band-mate Θανάση Οικονόμου (Athanassios Economou). Then came music studies in London, award-wining works for the English National Ballet and the London Chinese Orchestra, graduate studies at UCLA, and an academic career in music perception, psychoacoustics, film music, & noise mitigation. Disillusioned with academia, he founded AcousticsLab / Sound4Vision in 2016, specializing in Creative and Scientific Consulting in Audio Arts & Acoustics, working with the Hollywood Bowl and the LA Philharmonic, the Port of Los Angeles, The KAABOO Experience, and others. In 2020, 30 years after his last release, Covid19 froze all live entertainment, giving him “permission” to return to music-making and the joy that comes with springing new songs out of 'nothing.' Search | Add | 10 | Heady Brew | Nashville, Tennessee Formed in 2004, Heady Brew reunited three lifelong friends from a small, sleepy town in south Alabama whose devotion to music culminated in a single purpose: to create a distinct and original form of music drawn from similar and sometimes diverse influences and experiences. The members of Heady Brew have been making music together in one incarnation or combination or another since their teens. Although they’ve traveled many directions geographically and sometimes musically, the common thread has always been the desire to create something original, along with the devotion to the idea of the power of the song. Based in Nashville, TN… Heady Brew is a rock ‘n’ roll band infused with elements of country, and blues. They move with ease from one genre to the next… weaving them together to create a sound distinctly their own.

Search | Add | 10 | "Killer Joe" Piro | Frank Piro | Frank "Killer Joe" Piro (2 March 1921 - 5 February 1989) was a dance instructor to high society and popularized steps of the discotheque era of the 1960s and 1970s. In the early fifties, he opened his own studio on 54 West 55th Street in Manhattan, where many in New York's high society came to take dance lessons. Over the decades he taught what would become the mainstays of the discothèque scene: the Mambo, the Cha-cha and the Merengue, then the Twist and later the Frug, the Frog, the Watusi, and the Hully Gully. His students included the Duke of Windsor, Sita Devi Gaekwar - Maharani of Baroda, Dame Margot Fonteyn, Ray Bolger, Luci Baines Johnson, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and, by 1965, more than a million other Americans via the Emmy award-winning TV show 'That Was the Week That Was.' His fame somehow spread far enough to be photographed by Richard Avedon and to inspire a Filipino guitar band, the Rocky Fellers, to record a tribute tune, "Killer Joe," for Scepter Records in 1963. The record earned the band a spot on the Top 40 pop charts for a few weeks, though it bears more than a passing similarity to the Mickey & Sylvia hit, "Love is Strange." Despite being the undisputed "King of the Discotheque," Piro never opened his own club. Asked why, he replied, "I like things the way they are. I don't want to be watching a cash register, watching the waiters - it would take all the beauty of dancing away from me and I would get old." |
