Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Dynamic Deadbeats Bands | From the ashes of Southside Richmond, USA, a teen outfit. The Deadbeats stayed true to their garage roots, but took things in a decidedly more soulful direction. In '66 the lads hit the notoriously low-fi Richmond Sound Stages at 2314 W. Cary Street to bang out their first record, self-released on the Greenedeem label. The ensuing year and a half after this first release saw the band (many of whose members were still in high school) continue to mature, ditching the stage make up and honing its sound. The Deadbeats cut two more singles, both of which had the same pairing: "No Second Chance" b/w "Why Did You". The first recording of these songs was another characteristically muddy Richmond Sound Stages production with an extremely small press run (possibly 100). Think of it as a rough draft for what was about to come. In mid '67 the band traveled up to Philadelphia to re-cut both tracks in an real recording studio. The result, released on the Strata label, is a perfectly realized two sided Garage-Soul stomper. Unfortunately, that didn't stop the record from quickly sinking into obscurity during "The Summer of Love".

Vasudha has performed extensively as a solo musician around Australia and Asia, launching her debut CD Bootleg in Byron Bay 2003. A singer and pianist/keyboard player with many different ensembles, she has supported Australian jazz veteran Don Burrows and UK psychedelic aficionados Gong. She has performed and recorded with musical luminaries such as James Cruickshank (Cruel Sea), Louis Burdett, Fantuzzi and Daevid Allen. An Actor and Musical Director for many local theatre productions, she composed arranged and played music to the words of Shakespeare, Lewis Carrol, the Capek brothers and others. Experienced in improvisation and character work, both musically and in playing roles, she performed her own one woman show Eye Scream in Mullumbimby and has appeared on many stages, art galleries and festivals, including seven Splendour in the Grass Festivals in Byron Bay, Woodford Folk Festivals and international festivals with Dinkum Bohos. Also a radio presenter on Bay FM community radio Byron Bay since 1998, Vasudha presented various styles of programs including the popular eclectic breakfast show “The Best Dressed Chickens in Town” with Vasudha and Jem. “A creative cornerstone of the community” Byron Shire Echo Dinkum Bohos come from a freewheeling bohemian tradition that’s rooted in Australia’s rustic heart. Weaned on travels through deep dangerous hinterland and golden east coast beaches, they present an Australian take on music for runaway romantics. A sonic tour de force, Dinkum Bohos feature adventurous velvet vocals, funky piano artistry, dazzling guitar wizardry and idiosyncratic drums. Jem Edwards played at the legendary Stonehenge 1976-78, Glastonbury 1977 and Rivington Pike 1977 free festivals. He was a roadie on Motorheads’ first tour with Hawkwind in 1976. From 1979 to 1981 he lent his talents to London’s Wessex Studios working alongside Master engineer Jeremy Greene, remixing for the likes of The Damned and The Theatre of Hate and ripped up the Bussendorfe with Jeremy on guitar on the duos lost tapes sessions. In 1978 he met Patron of the Arts Fred Koch who commissioned ensemble and orchestral pieces through The Arthur Foundation NY and The New York Arts Foundation, enabling him to manuscript solo, ensemble and orchestral pieces (presently being recorded by John Thompson of Penzance and soon to be released ‘Speculations for Piano’) and made the move to London. Between 1978 and 1984 he graced the bandstands in London where he delivered his uncompromising and avant-guard piano playing (Almeida Theatre Bar/Ivories,Bass Clef ). In 1983 Jem and Fred initiated the benefaction of the Swan Theatre, a gift to the people of Stratford and the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon. In the early 80’s Jem played with Paper House, a Post Punk New Wave outfit based in North London, performing regular gigs at the Brixton Archway Studios behind the now sadly defunct Desmond’s Hip City record store on the Railton Road, with jazz percussionist Andy Leopard, Oxford Music Collectives performance of Terry Riley’s “In C”, The Abstracts (Mark Gibbons), Void Litter with Simon Gilbert (Suede), Jerry Bewley (Oxo, Entropy, Kangaroo Moon, The Egg) and Chris Pinder (Oxo,Pinder),Ed Alleyne-Johnson (New Model Army) recording one EP with David Brown of Limit Mobile Audio where he first recorded ‘Continuum for piano and digital delay’. When Fela Kuti was jailed for 5 years in 1981 after carrying $50,000 US out of Nigeria, the band was left in London without a keyboard player, Jem stepped up on keys and the band Blue was born. From 1996 to 1999 he played keys with London R & B unit The Fireflies. A key organiser in Birmingham’s first Fireworks Fantasia (1991) Jem’s band The Eagles Gift performed to an audience of over a million. He was active at that time with reeds and woodwind player Martin Robinson, (Simon Fell and the Frakture Big Band, Mamadou and the Super Libidor Band) playing Irish sets, free improvisations and general lunacy on a variety of bandstands ranging from Birmingham Conservatoire to Westminster Cathedral. He formed a song writing partnership with Craig Hammond, recording several solo efforts playing all instruments himself, a skill he eventually found an outlet for in DINKUM BOHOS which incorporates flamenco guitar, steel string, spanish, lap steel, electric guitars along with vibraphone, piano, keyboards, drum kit, percussion and vocals. Around 1990 he met John Thomson the concert piano player and improviser and worked for two years on structured improvisations for two pianos/four hands performing around Warwickshire and initiating the first public performances of some of his series of manuscripted piano works called Speculations. John Thomson is an established concert pianist who trained at the Royal Academy of Music and continued his training at the Budapest Academy. Now living in Penzance Cornwall UK, they met up in 2011 and began preliminary talks on the recording of all 14 pieces which have been re-edited over the years and a new cycle of piano works. Whilst with the Royal Shakespeare Company in the 90’s, The Summer House installation (originally installed at The Serpentine, London) rigged outside the old Main House, hosted a variety of international acts during the 2001 season. The Summer House Productions were created by Jem and legendary sound man Tim McCormick, former Deputy Head of sound at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester(Klark Teknik, RSC,Cowboy Junkies). He performed with Dave Carroll (Steve Gibbons Band) in the award winning 2004 Spanish Season as part of the RSC’s special events team working with Fiona Lindsay (Face to Face at the Arts). 2003 saw the formation the acoustic blues jam unit 6 O’clock Shadow with Richie Storry and Oli Bigland playing with guest artists such as Greg Hicks (RSC) and Damien Kearney( The Wind that Shakes the Barley). He recorded at Andy Bird’s Darkstone Studios in Warwickshire with Richie and made solo recordings at Windmill Studios, Harbury. The band organised several charity musical events with various members of the Royal Shakespeare Company from 2000 – 2005 performing at the Swan Theatre and local venues. He went on to become a freelance theatrical wire rigger for Ragdoll Children’s TV Productions co-designing the rig which flew the Pinkyponk for the award winning In The Night Garden Production working along side cult film director Dirk Campbell (I Bought A Vampire Motorcyle 1990), Tony Wood (Arclight Productions) and Pob. Taking a break from it all, embarking on the surfing trip to Australia in 2007 which saw the temporary end to 6 O’clock Shdaow and inevitably ended up in musician/surfing mecca Byron Bay. Theatre manager Greg Aitken( Byron Bay International Film Festival) invited him to design a set for a production of Karel Čapek’s play The Life of The Insects, which he happily did in exchange for unlimited time playing their Grade D Steinway Grand Piano. It was during the get-in that he first met VASUDHA HARTE, pianist, composer and Musical Director of the show. He was to later discover her songwriting genius and many midnight duets later these two consummate musicians paired up to form a formidable duo playing musique originale in their band DINKUM BOHOS. Dinkum Bohos journeyed overseas in 2011 performing at various festivals and events Rhythm Tree Festival IoW, Buddhafield, Watchet, Swindon, St.Ives UK and at private functions throughout France and Spain .Jem has released many albums on Bandcamp https://jemedwards.bandcamp.com the quadruple triptych Social Music being music from his archive from 1977 to the present day featuring Jem’s visceral solo piano compositions, free improvisations and avant-guarde prepared piano pieces and also featuring guest artist Vasudha Harte, Max Volume and Bek Phoenix on some tracks. Jem also features on drums and vibraphone on some tracks. The Shredshed is an album of psychedelic guitar shreds recorded at various locations . Jem has recently (2019) released under the Dinkum Bohos banner Hiraeth – road y rhod an album of channeled gaelic tunes, Gingamulli Gilay with ace yidaki (didgeridoo) player Gumeroy Newman and Astral with Swiss born surbahar (bass sitar)player Marco Colombo, Jem featuring on guitar (classical) on this one. In Bhopal, India in 2018 till early spring 2019 he is recording Dhrupad artist Mukund Dev and musicians from around the world and compiling a Sound Healing Journey for Vasudha Harte's Nada Yoga Sound Healing Journey released in the Aussie spring of 2019..

Search | Add | 4 | TRANCITIV | TRANCITIV was founded in 1995 by Mike (vocals & keyboards) and Uschi (vocals & guitar) with the aim to combine Viennese dialect and Viennese attitude to life with groovy reggae vibes. The band released their first album "Es is Zeit" in 2009. This was followed by "TRANCITIV" (2012) and "Roots" (2014). The name TRANCITIV is meant to indicate both a potential achievement of a trance-like state through music and the fundamentally positive vibes the band spreads through their music. The profound and partly socially critical lyrics, which are written by Mike, let the need for more "togetherness" in love and respect be felt. Trancitive music should give people hope, but at the same time give them joy and above all motivate them to dance!

Search | Add | 4 | The Bill Elliot Swing Orchestra | The BILL ELLIOTT SWING ORCHESTRA, fifteen musicians and four singers strong, plays exciting swing music in the styles of the '30s, '40s, and '50s, with a twist: much of the band's repertoire has been written in the '90s and 2000 by leader Bill Elliott, a composer and arranger whose songs have been prominently featured in many feature films and TV shows, including the recent HBO film INTRODUCING DOROTHY DANDRIDGE and the current Disney Channel film ALLEY CATS STRIKE. Elliott began his career as a rock'n'roll piano player, touring and recording with such artists as Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks, and many others, before finding his calling as a swingmeister while writing and arranging songs for the 1989 film DICK TRACY. The Swing Orchestra, formed in 1993, was an outgrowth of Elliott's continuing success in writing original, vintage-sounding swing music for film, television, and commercials. He has assembled many of L.A.'s hottest musicians for his mission of recreating the authentic fire and style of big bands at their peak in the late '30s. The band also features BILL'S LUCKY STARS, a vocal quartet who sing in the close-harmony style of the Pied Pipers and the Modernaires, and glamorous lead singer Cassie Miller in featured solos as well. Playing a dominant role in southern California's current swing revival, Elliott's band is a favorite among the young jitterbug and Lindy Hop dancers whose vibrant new counterculture has been growing rapidly. Elliott's music is in the style of the great swing bands of the late '30s and early '40s - as hard-swinging as they come, with an emphasis on colorful arrangements, sophisticated and light-hearted lyrics, and danceability. The BESO has repeatedly drawn crowds of over 1100 dancers at the Hollywood Palladium and the Satin Ballroom in Los Angeles. The band has appeared often at Merv Griffin's Coconut Club in Beverly Hills, and has played to large crowds at the Avalon Casino Ballroom on Catalina Island and at ballrooms in San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland, OR. In July '99 the BESO made its first east coast appearances, headlining at Lincoln Center Midsummer Night Swing in Manhattan, the Mann Center for Performing Arts in Philadelphia, and at swing dance events in Boston and Washington, DC. The band is also in demand for private and corporate events, and its resume includes Emmy Award balls, the Jonathan Club Centennial, America's Cup Ball, Junior Philharmonic Ball, and parties for most of the major Hollywood studios. The band's three CDs, SWING FEVER, CALLING ALL JITTERBUGS!, and SWINGIN' THE CENTURY, have made the band well-known at swing clubs and dances from Seattle to London, and also receive enthusiastic airplay on jazz and swing radio programs around the world. Elliott's arrangements and his band's recordings were featured both in the HBO film and the RCA soundtrack album for INTRODUCING DOROTHY DANDRIDGE, and on John Lithgow's Sony-Wonder CD SINGING IN THE BATHTUB. Elliott's association with Mr. Lithgow also resulted in the recent Carnegie Hall premiere of a fifteen-minute piece for symphony orchestra, THE REMARKABLE FARKLE MCBRIDE, composed by Elliott as a setting of Lithgow's children's story which was released as a book by Simon & Shuster in the fall of 2000. Elliott's career as a bandleader complements his activities in film and television. He and the band recently recorded both the orchestral score and the big band music for the Disney Channel film ALLEY CATS STRIKE which began airing in March 2000, and he has used his band as the core of a large orchestra when arranging the songs for Disney's sequels to ALADDIN, THE RETURN OF JAFAR and ALADDIN AND THE KING OF THIEVES, which make use of his distinctive swing style. Four of Elliott's songs appeared in the Oliver Stone film NIXON, and eight of his songs are in the film KILLER starring James Woods. Elliott's swing music also appears in the films CONTACT, INDEPENDENCE DAY, Disney's remake of THAT DARN CAT, and the animated feature CATS DON'T DANCE. Bill and the band appeared as themselves (in 1939!) in the Disney TV movie TOWER OF TERROR. Bill also used his band in composing music for episodes of the TV shows ELLEN and DREW CAREY. Besides playing the original music of its leader, the band performs authentic arrangements from the golden years of swing, including music by Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Cab Calloway, Benny Goodman, Bunny Berigan, Jimmie Lunceford, Chick Webb, and Duke Ellington. Such classics as "King Porter Stomp", "Atchison, Topeka, and the Santa Fe", "Carioca", "Blues In The Night", and many others come to life with a suave polish and authentic style that no other contemporary band can match. The Bill Elliott Swing Orchestra seems to have leaped out of a time machine, and performs with all the excitement, sophistication, and enthusiasm of the best bands of the first swing era.

Devino Fortunato was an Oakland-area rapper who burst onto the scene with 2002's Cognac Loungin' for the upstart Bay Area label Real Smooth. While his work as an EMT kept him busy by day, by night it was the G-funk world of liquor, cars, women, and hustling. It was the latter that informed the content of his debut, an independent album that nevertheless boasted high-quality West Coast-style production and Fortunato's own boast-filled flow, which at times suggested the unadorned honesty of 2Pac. After his spectacular debut, Fortunato appeared at numerous Real Smooth events with labelmates Xeno and Tazz.

Search | Add | 4 | H.A.L.O. Vessel | HALO Vessel began after Ed Matus decided to take a break from the Miami Hardcore scene and go straight into the world of experimental electronica. Armed with a drum machine, an old synthesizer and an army of noisy guitar pedals he began to record a series of 4 track recordings which caught the attention of Audio Electric. In 1998, Audio Electric released his first full length effort. The self titled full length (also known as "Post Miami Vice Electronics" drew heavily from the influences of Herbie Hancock, Kraftwerk, and Jan Hammer, but still showed off a noisy and raw sensibility which gave Matus a reputation for making sonically organic electronic music. Though certain trademarks would remain evident, his overall sound and direction evolved into what became his second release for Audio Electric, "Honest Men" E.P. Released in 2002, "Honest Men" was a quantum leap in terms of sound and style. In the first HALO Vessel full length, the overall vision was of smooth rhythms and futuristic synths. In "Honest Men", rhythms became aggressive, destructive, and pregnant with heavy bass. The synths were no longer smooth and futuristic. In "Honest Men", they became jagged, and at times, even howled like gigantic rusting machinery. Aesthetically speaking, Matus was displaying a different future than the one he showed in his first release. After the live experience of HALO Vessel, Matus deliberately set out to make a recording which almost sounded live as opposed to the very dry and sterile production heard in many IDM recordings of the time.

Search | Add | 4 | The Evolution of the Arm | The Evolution of the Arm channels imaginary chamber music from an alternate universe. A quartet of improvisers drawing on collective experience in classical, jazz, experimental, noise, and theater music, they’ve developed their telepathic connection across genre, time, and space. The group first convened in November 2017 in Buffalo, NY under the creative auspices of Western New York expatriate Michael McNeill (keyboards, composition). Having worked together in various combinations in Wooden Cities, Buffalo Bach Project, and Parvenue, Mike called upon Megan Kyle (oboe, English horn), Evan Courtin (violin, voice), and Katie Weissman (cello, electronics) to join him in this new endeavor. Very quickly, the group decided to focus solely on their own compositions. Since 2017, the Evolution of the Arm has performed at various venues in Buffalo and McNeill’s new home state of Virginia. Throughout this time, the group’s repertoire has come to include the original semi-composed/semi-improvised suite Jackrabbit’s Palace by McNeill, Courtin’s trio pawns for oboe, cello and voice (featuring poetry by Marina Blitshteyn) and pieces of Kyle’s ongoing text-score project, the Invisible Series. Weissman frequently rounds out programs with cello and electronics improvisations. In the summer of 2019 the group recorded their debut album Sounds Like with engineer Chris Jacobs at the University at Buffalo. Their individual and collective musical explorations continue to evolve.

Olle Simonsson put up a note in the shop in Änge and asked for fiddlers from the area who wanted to play at the hometown festival - to begin with. The performance was much appreciated, the playing continued and the team grew. And we have continued to play at the hometown festival every summer. Read Gunnar Nilsson's story about how the team came to be below (It probably wasn't meant to be - Offerdal's fiddler team turns 37 even years). They have recorded eight CDs so far and made trips abroad to the USA, Russia and South Africa.

Search | Add | 4 | Jagger Jack | Gael Huet | Jagger Jack has discovered the 'Thunderdome compilations' at the age of eleven. These early beginnings led him later to explore the world of Free Parties, mostly to see the Dj [a=Manu le Malin] playin'. He saw him at a 'Futuria', that felt just like a punch in the face. The urge to play his own music grew stronger until one day he scored his first set of decks. The will to play in public pushed him to participate in organising Free Parties around the french Alps. After a while he decided to organise legal parties where he could invite and sometimes play with djs of all styles and all origins. While other European countries can claim to support a vibrant electronic alternative culture the same can not be said of metropolitan France. With up to 5000 people gathering together the perception of local authorities toward "techno culture" and the resulting constraints are just killing it. As an activist for the industrial hardcore sound in France, Dj [a=Jagger Jack] created [l=Hardcore Deluxe Records], the label on which one he has already composed with [a=Pirate Mind] two Ep :"Share your agression part I " and "part II". Today influenced by "IST style", the Dutch gabber sound and the industrial sound generally, he deliver us powerful, melodious, structured hardcore, in the rather rare tones in France. Indeed far from the "frenchcore" and from the sound "tribe" in overproduction in our country, Jagger Jack proposes us a pleasantly surprising musical alternative with his compositions and mid-tempo mix. |

Search | Add | 4 | The Morricones | Austrian Band - Linz Oberösterreich --- As a homage to the sound aesthetics of the infamous Spaghetti Western, THE MORRICONES create their own "Western Drama". With acoustic guitars, double bass and drums, the band draws tonal landscapes and tells stories of tragic, only vaguely outlined heroes with heavy emotions. She meets her tendency to melancholy with a touch of irony, because you shouldn't always take the songs very seriously. Reduced singer / songwriter pieces, orchestrally prepared rock ballads, cinematic soundtrack music as well as relevant rock songs are in the repertoire of the four Upper Austrians. And whether your acoustic alternative rock is served in the Irish pubs or on the largest stage in the country such as the Gasometer or Nova Rock - the songs are lively, close to the public and, in addition to all the pathos, also served with a wink! In addition, through the harmonious, two-part vocal parts, the music develops painfully beautiful moments even in the most disturbing songs, which show that a western drama does not always have to be loud and even the heart of an outlaw can be gripped.

Search | Add | 4 | Moleras | Moleras | Moleras - this is handmade alternative rock from Aachen, Germany. The duo consists of Moritz Bas and Lukas Wynands. They have known each other their whole life and have always made music together. In 2017 they started a band called “Nepomuk” in which they gained their first band and stage experiences. They also started to write their own music inspired by the stuff they love. In 2019 they decided to put their own songs together for a record. They recorded their debut album “obstacles” in the practice room of and with help from their friends Boon Goon. The album is about personal struggles and tries to provide a way out of them. It is supposed to show the listeners a way to deal with their personal obstacles. Considering their release, they changed their name to “Moleras” and decided to start over again. The duo performs with a pretty unusual line up: guitar, synthesizer, bass, vocals, percussion and a ukulele. In order to gain a full band sound, they use loopers and a bunch of effect pedals. With those instruments they are able to create a unique sound and their performances become extraordinary. The friends are excited about their first release and can’t wait to get on the road to bring their music to the people! “When the breakdown is getting nearer, try to start anew and always remember: your only obstacle is you!” |
