Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Peev | Pierre Serafini | As PEEV, Pierre Serafini has been a name with many faces over the past 20 years. He’s a musician, a curator, a DJ and above all, a consummate music lover. Over the past few years, Pierre stepped away from the limelight, to replenish himself. This aloowed him to freed time he would invest in his studio and instruments, improving not only his production skills and live performance, but his mindset as an artist too. Pierre has always been about more than the Bass and Clubbing scenes that framed his debuts. Over 5 years of his monthly Rinse show, he’s sought out guests from the known (Jay Glass Dubs, Subtext’s James Ginzburg) to the then-unknown (KMRU, Neinzer), quickly becoming the voice of Ambient on Rinse FR. Two recent releases, the emotive “Ad Astra (Per Ardua)”, a plaintive, piano-led ambient ballad on NoSuit Records, or the sonically extreme and emotional "Snakes & Ladders" on Music for Commercials, are just facets of PEEV’s identity, as an impressive slate of releases for 2021 shows. ‘Ccendrs', Pierre's first Ambient LP was released in March 2021. It was built as a collection of six pieces that emerged from a Live AV Set I was invited to perform at the cutting-edge, community-driven COMMON Multiverse event by Currents.fm. 'Ccendrs' allowed Pierre to find his very own sweet spot after years of work. Somewhere between the over-thinking brainy context of studio and the visceral rush that comes with playing live music. After the unexpected release of emotional power-ambient EP "A Farewell to Dust" in May, Pierre keeps on delivering at a tremendous pace, with a collaborative EP composed with French rising producer Realitycheck on Lyon-based label Music for Commercials in July of 2021: a genuine throwback to the distinctive intricate percussion work and shattered, rolling basslines of PEEV's previous works, gaining exposure on outlets such as The Ransom Note, Tsugi, Bandcamp and more. On top of this, with his Bordeaux-based friend Nuit, he’s started exploring the sludgier side of low end noise for a project that will probably take listeners way beyond the frontiers of electronic music. Whatever Pierre is on, there will be energy and a feel of spaciousness and depth: a reflection of decades of experience, coupled to an always more precise and process-driven approach to both live setup and studio are definitely paving the way for his most exciting works to date. |

Search | Add | 3 | Stuart Gasston | Singer from Sooth Shields, England who is partner of Nancy Hogg, [a2895576]'s Grandmother. The first thing he ever did,at 17, apart from shows at the Pier Pavilion, was when he was seen by Tony Martell, who offered him a spot on Golden Disc, which was a talent show from Tyne Tees Television. It was the launchpad for Stuart’s career, which saw him rub shoulders with the likes of [a57619] and [a480439]. Eventually, he was picked up by the Bailey organisation, which had The Latino nightclub, in South Shields. They had the biggest chain of nightclubs in the country. They took him on, became his management, and he did all their circuit. H worked with a lot of people such as [a16748] and [a254136], they had a very similar style. Following his success on the nightclub circuit in this country, Stuart started doing shows all over the world. Then he got involved with the cruise ships. The cabaret scene had died off a little, and he was offered work on the QE 2.

Search | Add | 3 | Jean-Claude Gallotta | French Dancer And Choreographer Jean-Claude Gallotta Following a lengthy stay in New York at the end of the 1970s, during which he met Merce Cunningham and discovered the world of post-modern dance (Yvonne Rainer, Lucinda Childs, Trisha Brown...), Jean-Claude Gallotta returned to Grenoble and, with Mathilde Altaraz, founded the Groupe Émile Dubois, which in 1981 took up residence in the Maison de la Culture de Grenoble (House of Culture). In 1984 it was named a National Choreographic Center, one of the first of its kind in France. With his first ballet, Ulysse, in 1981, his international reputation was assured. Other works followed, including Daphnis é Chloé (1982), Hommage à Yves P. (1983), Mammame (1985), Docteur Labus (1988), Presque Don Quichotte (1999), and Trois générations (2004). Between 1997 and 1999, he directed a Japanese dance company in Shizuoka, Japan. Over the years his choreographic creations – over 90 to date – widened to embrace other arts: cinema (he has two feature-length films to his credit), video, literature (les Larmes de Marco Polo (2000), l’Etranger (The Outsider, 2015) and Comme un trio (Like A Trio, 2018), based on Françoise Sagan’s novel Bonjour Tristesse), classical music – (Bach danse experience (2008), l’Amour sorcier (2013), working with the stage director Jacques Osinski and the orchestra conductor Marc Minkowski; and le Sacre et ses révolutions (2015) performed at the Paris Philharmonia); original music – working with composers such as Henri Torgue, Serge Houppin and Strigall; and even pop music, thereby expanding the frontiers of contemporary dance deemed somewhat elitist. In the pop music register, working with the singer Olivia Ruiz, he created Volver, presented at the Biennale of Dance in Lyon in 2016. His additional work in the genre includes his triptych My Rock (2004), l’Homme à tête de chou (Cabbage Head Man , 2009 reprised in 2019), and My Ladies Rock (2017). The French Ministry of Culture has recognized the Groupe Émile Dubois as a dance company with national and international impact. The company is now resident at the MC2: Grenoble. Jean-Claude Gallotta is also an associate author at the Théâtre du Rond-Point in Paris. He is currently working on his latest creation, Le Jour se rêve (The day dawns, the day dreams) which will be created in the fall 2020. For this project he collaborate with musician and composer Rodolphe Burger and visual artist Dominique Gonzales Foerster.

The name appears to be popular amongst choirs that specialize in Bach and his contemporaries for their repetoire. The UK has an umbrella organization "The Dorian SIngers" that appears to coordinate and support choirs from all over the UK. => https://thedoriansingers.org.uk/ There is a Dorian Singers Choir at the University of Puget Sound. Leonard Fullard founded "The Oriana Madrigal Choir" and "The Dorian Singers" in Melbourne Australia in the late 1940's. Both choirs recorded separately and together until they merged to for the Bach Festival Choir. "...Fullard himself was a modest man, and happy for his work to speak for him: the excellence of The Oriana Madrigal Choir and The Dorian Singers, merged as The Bach Festival Choir, concerts and broadcasts by the choirs, and the outstanding programmes of the Bach Festivals and Choir concerts."

Search | Add | 3 | The Reg Coates Experience | The Reg Coates Experience from Manchester, UK, became known after the Reg Coates Combo split in the early 70s for a short period. The combo often contained one or more of Reg's brothers. The new band only contained the best available musicians. Two long standing lead guitarists were Dave Dunne from Wythenshawe and Harry Barber (who sadly died a few years ago) from New Mills. Bass players and drummers came and went regularly due to Reg's high level of ability and low tolerence of alcohol problems but these 2 guys were around for many years. Jason Coates, Reg's son, joined the band for 5 years as a bass player from 86 to 91 and now lives in Portugal.

All music is improvised and performed live without sequencing, and varies from pulses to irregular rhythms, tonality to dissonance, digital glitches to acoustic instruments, and rich, reverb-drenched textures to austere, upfront bleeps. The result is somewhere between electronica, noise and electroacoustic music.

In 1975 the band rented a studio in Malmö and recorded an album. 300 copies were pressed and independently distributed, consisting of fourteen folk-inspired songs with humorous lyrics sung in Swedish. The home-made feeling is prominent and the recording sounds like an unlikely mixture of Philemon Arthur & the Dung and Love Explosion, but with better musicianship. The band performed live about ten times between 1973 and 1976 with Nationalteatern, Norrbottens Järn and others. They recorded their self-released album in Malmö in the summer of 1975. Anna Koka 5 Ägg were active for many years, starting out as early as in 1970. Gigs were rare, but they made a couple of shows sharing the bill with a couple of bigger progg acts in the mid 70's. They reunited at least once, for the local Röstånga festival in 2007. The album was originally released in an edition of 300 copies, but was made available briefly as a CD-R reissue through the band's now defunct website. Band members: Rolf Svensson (vocals, guitar, banjo) Christian Gustavsson (vocals, percussion) Mats Svensson (vocals, guitar, banjo) Leif Magnusson (guitar) Mats Nilsson (guitar) Lennart Remgard (keyboards, percussion) Håkan Turesson (clarinet) Ulf Westerberg (bass) Håkan Berg (flute) Lars Sunding (bass) Percy Hultberg (drums)

Search | Add | 3 | J.J. Byars | American saxophone player. JJ Byars fashions lush and dynamic indie electric folk that explores a wide palette from the gritty, driving, energetic, to the sensitive, bare and introspective. With narratives of love, loss, and restlessness, there is also humor there amidst the nostalgia. Influenced by artists such as Grizzly Bear, John Fahey, and Jeff Buckley, JJ’s approach to songwriting is unique. “Waterlogged” is his solo album debut and first foray as a singer songwriter/composer under his own name. He comes from years of touring as a founding member and saxophone player for the successful soul rock band, [a=Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds]. And has been an active sideman and bandleader in the NYC music scene for multiple projects. He also leads the rock band Hungry Hands which recently had music placed in the new Tony Hawk Pro Skater video game.

Search | Add | 3 | The Red Coil | Italian sludge metal band. Formed in April 2008 in the west Milan area The Red Coil is an Italian five-piece that mixes stoner, sludge and rock with a beer and whiskey flavor. The name The Red Coil is related to the concept of Kundalini, the energy that resides in the subtle body and it’s traditionally represented as a sleeping serpent coiled at the base of the spine. The Red Coil’s music is the alcoholic heavy riffs soundtrack for a trip through altered mental state along the “left hand path”. The band released the first Ep “Sloug Off” in 2009 including three songs and receiving very good feedback. The song “Burning Shores” was chosen to open the Sludge Swamp Comp Vol.II promoted by the Sludge Swamp Webzine, and for this track they make a video clip inspired by the Aghora tradition. After a couple of years spent playing in the north of Italy with some important bands on the stoner/doom scene they started working on the new material. On May 2011 they entered the Octopussy Studio for the recording sessions of their first album. The new record professionally recorded and mixed will include 10 songs mastered by Jacob Bredahl (Hatesphere, Allhelluja) at Dead Rat Studio (Denmark). The Red Coil are ready ! Heavy and groovy like never before!

Search | Add | 3 | Leonardo Vela R. | Leonardo Vela Rodríguez | Peruvian guitarist and band leader born in Tabalozos, Lamas. When he was still a child he moved to Moyobamba where he then began to accompany with the tumbas or maracas a group called Los Electros, whose owner was César Jiménez and the members Pablo Vásquez (lead guitar) Manuel Linares (bass), Francisco Ruíz (tumbas), Resurrection Ruíz (drums) and Celín Vásquez (singer). Later Francisco Ruíz left Los Electros to form his group called Los Duendes with Juan García (bass), Resurrección Ruíz (timbales) and Leonardo Vela (lead guitar). At the end of 1973, the group Los Génesis was formed in Rioja under the direction of Pedro Rojas (second guitar) with Walter Paima (bass), Charlemagne Díaz (drums), Hernán Ortiz (tumbas) and Juan Díaz Salazar (vocals). Since they needed a first guitar and composer, they went to Moyobamba to incorporate Leonardo, who was replaced in Los Duendes by Crox Alvarado. In the mid-seventies they go to Lima to record their first full length for the label [l590237] but they can't record as Los Génesis because there was already another band with that name, so they changed to Siglo XX. After the group disbanded, Leonardo and Pedro Rojas moved to Moyobamba and incorporated musicians Alejandro Angulo (timbales), Alfonso Mori (bass), Víctor Villacorta (tumbas) and Walter Arévalo (voice). On this trip to Lima, the owner of the Volcán invites Leonardo to stay and work at the record company but the job in the record company does not satisfy him and so he returns to Moyobamba to join the Grupo Arco Iris by Javier Puerta with Jorge del Águila (bass), Alejandro Angulo (timbales), Víctor Villacorta (tumbas) , Ernesto Ríos (vocals) and Walter Arévalo (vocals). Towards the end of the 1970s Jorge Franco Prado contacted Leonardo to relaunch the Lima group Los Reales del Perú with musicians from Lima and Moyobamba: Alfonso Rojas (first and second guitar), Jorge del Águila (bass), Guillermo Alvarado (timpani) and Eduardo Vizconde (vocals). In 1980 Leonardo went alone to Lima and recorded two small albums with his own compositions for the label [l1799240]. For these productions he takes the name of Los Reales de Moyobamba, even if the truth is that he was the only one present and the label completed the group with local musicians. After this, Leonardo is encouraged to form his own group, for this he leaves Los Reales, where Alfonso Rojas permanently takes on the first guitar and the task of composing, Guillermo Alvarado leaves to form the Grupo Atlantic. In the early eighties Leonardo recorded his first opera as Sonido Verde de Moyobamba, the group incorporates Carlos Córdova (second guitar), Leoncio Vásquez (bass), Marcial Rojas (timbales) and Abner Carbajal (singer), the latter two from Los Rangers de Moyobamba. |
