Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Troels Skovgaard | Troels Skovgaard Petersen | Danish guitarist, born 20 June 1957 in Aarhus, Denmark. The west coast guitarist from Denmark… Troels Skovgaard started his career back in the early seventies. He was singing an playing guitars in different coverbands in the northern part of Denmark, where he also studied at the Music Conservatory of classical music. To get further on with his career he moved to Copenhagen in 1983. Very soon he teamed up with Michael Roupé, Assi Roar, Jesper Orberg & Kristian Lassen and formed the band Bamboo Brothers. Bamboo Brothers were not just a studioproject, but a very established liveband. They played several gigs in Denmark and did also toured in Sweden and Germany. After several years on the road with Bamboo Brothers they went into the studio to record the first album. In 1994 they released ”No Easy Way”, and had a big hit with the song ”Johnny Told Susie”. The album is a great mix of different bands from the US west coast and Bamboo Brothers was one of the good acts in the west coast music style from Denmark. In 1995 they followed the success up with their next album called ”Bamboo Brothers”. After this release they toured in Denmark and late 1995 they decided to stop, because they were all active with solocareers etc. and it was a good time to end the Bamboo Brothers. Beside Bamboo Brothers Troels Skovgaard is very active as a sideman and he has played with a lot of the big acts in Denmark such as: Tamra Rosanes, Hanne Boel, Elisabeth, Savage Rose, Lars Muhl, Jan Glæsel, Ole Thøger, Jørgen Emborg, Cæcilie Norby, Ivan Pedersen, Jette Torp, Bob Ricketts, Engqvist Orkester and also international artists such as: Flavio Piantoni, Robert Bailey, Scott Kripayne, Joselyn Browne, Jimmy Haslip (Yellowjackets), Frank Gambale, Alex Acuna & Justo Almario. Troels Skovgaard is also working as producer, and he has recently produced albums for Michael Vesterskov, Laura Illeborg and Engqvists orkester. So now it is time to release the soloalbum, where Troels Skovgaard has got great help from a lot of good friends in the business, so you can hear these people on this soloalbum: Jon Bruland, Hans Fagt, Niels Ratzer, Frede Ewert, Gry Harrit, Flemming Osterman, Ole Kibsgaard, Michael Roupé, Olesen, Ole Kibsgaard, Jan Kaspersen, Ivan Pedersen, Fabrizio Mandolini, Leonardo Bosetti, Per Kamp, Jens Lysdal and others. Troels Skovgaard is very active on the danish musicscene and he has been touring with different artists and he also went to Los Angeles together with Engqvist Orkester were he played at the legendary club “Baked Potato” in North Hollywood together with Alex Acuna, Justo Almario and Kim Sogaard (Ricky Lawson Band). In the World Beat magazine there was a review of the concert: Guitarist/lead singer Troels Skovgaard was especially provocative singing “Johnny Told Susie”. Together with Engqvist Orkester they did several gigs in Los Angeles and also got the possibility to meet with several L.A acts. Late 2003 Troels Skovgaard are preparing recordingsessions to his next album and he will also be re-recording the song “Dive For Pearls” as a pre-single to the upcoming album. In the studio Troels Skovgaard has teamed up with some great musicians and you will hear the harmonica legend Toots Thielemans, the Weather Report drummer Alex Acuna and singer Bob Bailey will add background vocals to the tracks. |

Search | Add | 4 | Amembal Dinkarrao | Dinkar Amembal | D'Amel or Amembal Dinkarrao If alive, Amembal Dinkarrao or D'Amel (1909-1990) would have been 95 on September 24, 2004. Old time listeners of All India Radio would recall fondly his innumerable compositions used again and again as signature tunes. D'Amel is rightfully called as the Father of Orchestration of Hindustani classical music. It is necessary to differentiate in simple terms how difficult it must have been to set Indian or Hindustani classical themes, melodic and individualistic in nature in orchestration which is infact harmony based as is Western classical music. This very quality highlights the contributions of D'Amel. Though not trained in true Guru-Shishya Parampara in 'Gharana' style on one to one basis, D'Amel was a master craftsman when it came to orchestration. Have you heard of a conductor of musical ensemble without his baton leading the group as it were to its ultimate climax? Have you heard of a lead conductor being a part of the orchestration holding and playing a metal flute providing impeccable listening pleasure? D'Amel did this feat successfully from 1935 to 1966 on All India Radio Bombay Station for over 30 years! Born in Guwahati (North-East tip of India) D'Amel belonged to South Kanara Chitrapur community. He was a singer, harmonium player and conductor of Indian ensemble all rolled into one. Another oddity was he was little hard of hearing and in his later years he had turned totally stone-deaf. V.K. Narayan Menon, a musicologist, Indian Dance Expert and Founder Director of Prestigious National Centre of Performing Arts called him "Beethoven of India". Greatness of D'Amel lies in his expressive way of simplifying Raga music which even a novice could understand. A whole new generation in Independent India was brought up on his music could differentiate raga music from one melody to another. True to the motto of All India Radio, he propogated good music to common radio listeners. In 1947 with Independence came a ban on 'harmonium' - a foreign instrument with French reeds. Though this was a setback, it did not deter D'Amel. He took up simple metal flute and even presented full length events on All India Radio Bombay. He led a life of a saint steeped into spiritualism and ended his life like a Yogi in 1990. Biography by Prakash Burde, September 2005 |

Search | Add | 4 | Suthun Boy | The nineties gave birth to a revolution of crunk music propelled in part by the Iconz release of Get Crunked Up. A huge smash in the streets, the song established Iconz as an internationally recognized brand in todays hip-hop music scene while driving the STREET MONEY album to debut at number 10 on Billboard Magazines Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart . After a long hiatus, a discussion with Iconz label head, Fentz, reveals the companys plans to set the streets on fire in 2006. With great confidence, Fentz proclaims; We have discovered a hit artist. The streets cannot be lied to, says Fentz, in this game, if the streets dont feel you, theres no winning. Our new artist, SUTHUN BOY is a natural star and hes soon to be the darling of the industry and the streets. In one meeting, it becomes clear why SUTHUN BOY is the designated flagship talent of Iconz Artist & Music. He is a man of few but powerful words. With his intriguing demeanor and humble spirit, Suthun Boy is no average rapper. He comes across like a philosopher, readily expounding upon life and its many facets. A devoted husband and father, Suthun Boy speaks candidly of his love and plans for his family. He wears the hallmark of a prophet unashamedly sharing his faith like an activist ready to stand up for what he believes in regardless of the personal cost. While hes no stranger to serving beat downs and hustles on the street, Suthun Boy demonstrates a great deal of spirituality, always attributing his successes to God. When asked about his feelings towards representing a brand that some consider tainted, Suthun Boy states; I thank the Lord for blessing me with the confidence to represent myself before a label. Thats where artists go wrong. They hide behind their labels. A company cant connect you with the streets. A label can open some doors, but the way the streets feel about you is in our own hands and in Gods hands. As the name suggests, Suthun Boys debut album, GHETTO MUSIC is inspired by and created for the ghetto. In his words; this album is for my ghetto people; people raised in the projects by their grand-mama daddies not around; people that get harassed and abused by crooked cops but live just long enough to watch those cops get promoted to higher ranks and get higher pay; all those hurt but blessed people. I see myself leading a flock into a revolution thats going to heal and change every ghetto with my gifts. Many rap artists transition from music to films. Like the late Tupac Shakur, Suthun Boy is launching his acting career simultaneously with his music career. Noted for his chilling portrayal of Koke, the loyal henchman of a powerful drug lord, in the Falcon Films/Twentieth Century Fox movie entitled BLOODLINE, Suthun Boy is already a double-edged sword

Search | Add | 4 | Conceptesia | Conceptesia project born in the first months of 2007. All begin like a game, nights spent listening to music and having very various dj sets, not following a precise way of sound. A boring sunday morning the decision : to produce own tracks. Immediately, in two weeks, six tracks are ready, very simple for the structure but very evocative for the very small period they were composed. Conceptesia put all these tracks in a cd called "Fiorino EP". The persevering presence in the best clubs of north and centre Italy contribute to increase their desire to search something different, something abstract

Search | Add | 4 | Western Continentals | The Western Continentals is the Barbershop Harmony Society's 1968 International Quartet Champion. First organized in 1964 in Phoenix, Arizona with Curt Kimball on tenor, Ted Bradshaw on lead, Paul Graham on baritone, and Terry Diedrich on bass. That fall, they won the 1964 Far Western District Championship. They qualified for international the next spring and finished 8th in Boston, MA. In 1966, Curt Kimball was drafted and was replaced by Al Mau as tenor. The quartet qualified for the 1966 international contest to be held in Chicago, Illinois. They sadly dropped down to 21st. Following that contest, Terry Diedrich was forced to leave the quartet due to personal reasons and was replaced by Phil Foote as bass. In 1967, the quartet went to Los Angeles and jumped from 21st all the way to 2nd place silver medalists. In 1968 in Cincinnati, Ohio, they won it all. They won that contest singing songs such as “Are You From Dixie” and “Heart Of A Clown”. The quartet traveled all across the county following their championship singing for chapters and shows everywhere. In 1971, Al Mau moved to California and was replaced by Frank Friedemann as tenor. The quartet retired following the 1973 international convention in Portland, Oregon. The quartet came out of retirement several times throughout the decade before calling it quits for good in 1979. During their time together, they recorded three albums: “Gonna Build A Mountain”, “Barbershop With A Continental Flavor”, and “The Continental Sound”. They all included their popular show tunes and a few of their contest songs. Their third album included a few piano and guitar tracks provided by Frank Friedemann. Al Mau went on to earn two silver medals with the Pacificaires in 1973 and 74. Ted Bradshaw was an international finalist in the 1970’s with the Command Performance. The championship version of the Western Continentals, Mau-Bradshaw-Graham-Foote, reunited in 1988 for the society’s 50th anniversary in San Antonio, Texas and the original district championship version, Kimball-Bradshaw-Graham-Diedrich, reunited in 2014 to celebrate their 50th anniversary as Far Western District Champions. The Western Continentals’ final curtain call was in July of 2018 in Orlando, FL when surviving members, Al Mau, Ted Bradshaw, and Paul Graham were honored for the 50th anniversary of their international championship. Today only Al Mau and Frank Friedemann survive. Phil Foote died in 2017, Paul Graham in 2018, Ted Bradshaw in 2019, and both Curt Kimball and Terry Diedrich in 2022.

Search | Add | 4 | The Ivory Boy | The Ivory Boy is the pseudonym behind which Italian born DJ and producer Luca Spinogatti operates. Now based in the welcoming city of Berlin, Germany, he regularly performs in the city’s many club venues. His personal and musical growth traces back to the years in Bologna, Italy, between the late nineties and the beginning of the millennium. There, he collaborated with several artists from the local and national hip hop and funk scene, promoting one of the city’s hottest parties, weekly appointment FunkyVag. During the same period he released tracks with London based Jazzman Records UK, Record Kicks, and Soupy records IT, using the pseudonym DJ TIB, and collecting a series of shows in Italy and Europe. After a crucial stay in NYC in 2008, to complete his musical background, Luca now lives in Berlin, where he started his new project. In composing his tracks, he still taps into his large collection of old vinyl records, obtained through extensive crate digging in the shelves of record shops from all over the world. He then favors analog old school machinery to process the sound before the mixing process, to give his sound a distinct modern ‘vintage-sample’ flavor. Besides his solo project, Luca is also one half of the Peanuts (No Nore Hits) and Nero Jaxx with Andrea Benini and Alex Trebo (Mop Mop).

Search | Add | 4 | No:Id. | Economic constraints drove this duet to seize the philosophy of austerity; “big things surprise by their simplicity” and “manage to make things with less than you have” were two of the mottoes that Gustavo Madrid and Omar Scavone embraced at the time of bringing this new project to life. They wanted to create songs that could be easily sung, they wanted to create a music that was independent from a particular moment, from a time; they wanted to create a music that could carry on living, that could last. The group was stigmatized as being “different”, snob and only suitable for the huge minority; rated of being intoxicating but serene, of having swing and style. The lyrics in English enjoyed a warm reception and someone suggested that if you had a French friend, he will surely like this band´s music. Their sound can´t deny the influence of Tindersticks, Nick Cave, Lou Reed or Tom Waits; but true to their blueprint, NO:ID. introduces a musical scheme that´s based on the subversion of pop music, where they put together an infinite series of tones and sounds that go beyond the usual resources of this musical style. NO:ID. makes part of an innovative musical world where new technologies, traditional instruments and everyday objects are combined to create a sound palette where every tone will be appreciated for its originality. The revamp of styles and the non-conventional instruments they used to generate sound invigorates a proposal in which the duet looks for an original and innovative music. NO:ID. tries to broaden the boundaries to give more room to imagination, creativity, innovation and musical experimentation.
