Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 4 Hiding Inside Victims HIDINGINSIDEVICTIMS Hiding Inside Victims was a Crust/Hardcore Punk band from the Los Angeles/Ventura County California area. The band began late 2008 with home recordings and jam sessions with Joaquin (vocals/drums) and Joe (vocals/guitar). Both previously had been singers in separate disbanded street punk bands, Initial Distrust and U.S.Brats. In 2009 the band played their first show at the Infest Warehouse in Los Angeles. After a series of shows in the Southern California area the band decided to look for a bassist and took Mike (BlisterUnit/Want but Mari) vocalist and guitarist for the spot. After set of shows Mike had a mutual parting from the band for his other career and musical endeavors. The band began again to search for another bassist and this time a second guitarist and found guitarist Chris (Schismism, The Last Priority) and bassist Ryan "Ratboy" (Throat Cancer). Founding member Joe left the band in 2011. The band completed their first Western U.S. tour with Dutch punk band Suicide State in May 2011 coinciding with a split release by the two bands which was released in the U.S. and Europe.

Search Add 4 KUT Goldcard Katsuyuki Hosoda Japanese House DJ/producer from Tokyo. Kut started out in Tokyo spinning parties around 1989. Soon he purchased his first sampler and began making tracks on his own in the early 90's. Shortly thereafter, he quit DJing in favor of production. From 1994-1998 he spent time in various US cities. He absorbed the vibes and techniques there from many US studios including NY's D&D Studios. After coming back to Japan, Kut dropped out of production for a few years. This didn't last long as the music called him back. [l=Elephanthaus]/[l=Real Estate Records] owner [a=Tim Baker] discovered Kut and signed him for 3 EP's. Unlike many Japanese artists, Kut soon aimed to focus on the international game. New York's [l=4th Floor Records] quickly signed him for "Kut Presents Hot for Love". These disco flavored cuts quickly found their way into playlists, charts and record bags of many DJ's all over the world. At the same time, Kut started focusing on Europe and was immediately picked up for several EP's and put on remix duty on such labels as [l=Bush] (UK) and [l=Oxyd Records] (Italy). Delving headfirst in a new direction (Techno and Tech-House) Kut's remix for [a=DJ Kruze]'s "Let Me In" on [l=Bush] ended up on [a=Carl Cox]'s Live 2nd Session – Area 2, Detroit. His 2003 R.I.C.H. EP on the US's biggest Tech-House label [l=Big Chief] rocked clubs internationally and was bagged and charted by a myriad of high profile DJ's over the world. In 2004, [a=Seishi Ono] & [a=Kut Goldcard]'s Plug 1 EP was cained by hundreds of DJ's including [a=Carl Cox]. 2005 saw remixes on [l=Toolroom Trax] (UK) and [l=Brickhouse] (Germany). Recently he was signed to United Nation of House on [l=C2 Records (UK) / CR2 Records (UK)].

Search Add 4 Tito Haensel Its musical history begins as a result of the theft of a guitar at 6 or 7 years. Yes, as he reads it, a robbery. Heansel felt a special attraction - and uncontrollable - for the ropes: "I was with my dad at the Yaguachi festivities (when these were an apotheosis thing) and I saw a guitar in one of the stalls, I asked him to buy it and he refused , but I did not stay with the pike, I reached for it and I ran. " When "doing that little prank", the owners of the place persecuted him and his father had to pay for the instrument. When he tells this story he lets out a knowing smile: "I took the guitar to the house and that's where everything started". At age 12, he met the musician Joaquín Naranjo in his neighborhood (in all of Pedro Moncayo and Padre Solano). He confesses: "When I saw him play, my fascination for music grew even more". With Naranjo he learned to sing the chords. Already "with a bigger and more professional guitar", he began to "take out" songs that he played with his "gallada". "I remember that I put a group of outlaws into the home of my poor parents (that's how he calls his musical friends) and made a scandal that you can not imagine," he laughs. "That was a time when the electric guitar was a myth, a novelty, not to mention the bass, that nobody had," says this before commenting that to facilitate the scenario, ingenuity is always appropriate: "We used to take a guitar and we put four strings. " Remember that, before, being a musician was playing for the love of the shirt, the difficulty of practicing this activity was not only limited by the economic aspect, but by the social stigma that existed: "Living from music was frowned upon, that is to say that you were drunk, drug addict and parrandero ". Already at age 17, "and more knowledgeable (experienced) in this art" recognizes that he began to "work in music and fail in studies" -he made his high school at the National Institute-. One of the stories he remembers most of that time is the occasion when he participated in an intercollegiate contest of musical bands where he won first place and "other things". "I played with my teeth. I arrived with the prize to the school and the rector told me: 'Pay the fees you owe for a pension and consider yourself a graduate' ". In addition to these 'recognitions', and after the presentation the afternoon of the contest, Josefina de Vallarino contacted him to make a suggestion: "Come to Los Corvets". He also joined groups such as Marfil and Canela, and accompanied on stage national artists Lucho Silva and Enrique González and international Leo Dan, Alberto Cortez and others, he was also a musician at the Fediscos label. Currently belongs to the Pyramide group and has its own studio. He declares that the guitar is his spoon, part of his body, and that he will continue to make music long, because despite the difficult moments, "which never fail", he always looks at things from a positive point.

Search Add 4 Pistol Kixx Oxford / Swindon / London 2006 - 2009 PISTOL KIXX are a frantic fusion of sleaze, blues, punk and classic rock. Their sound brings together influences from old skool punk through 80’s glam and sleaze and even blues and classic rock. They combine the no-nonsense rock n roll approach of punk and garage rock with the fire and the flash of the 80’s sleaze and hair bands they grew up loving. The Pistol Kixx idea was formed in March 2006 in the whiskey and drug-addled mind of singer Carli Hart. The band went through a few line-ups with Carli and Sober Dave on bass and then rhythm guitar being the only constant maembers. Towards the end 2007, the present line-up came together with Steevi and Mr. Wiggles joining on bass and drums, a few weeks later the final piece of the puzzle came in the shape of lead guitarist Rob Silver. Suddenly the right personalities were in the room together, everyone just “got it” and things started to happen. A few weeks later, the band was opening for the “Dog D’amour,” and haven’t stopped playing live at any opportunity since. Pistol Kixx toured the UK inflicting their raw and relentless live show on fans, while leaving a trail of empty bottles and anarchy in their wake. It was said that they would play anywhere for petrol money and a bottle of tequila. After departure of vocalist Carli Hart the rest of the band decided to rejoin forces for a new outfit [a=The Soho Cobras]. Vocalist Carli Hart is now in Bridal Crash. Members: Carli Hart - Vocals Rob Silver - Lead Guitar/Vocals Sober Dave - Guitar/Vocals Steevi - Bass/Vocals Mr. Wiggles - Drums

Search Add 4 Gale Foehner Gale “Gaslite” Foehner was born in Rochester, New York in 1928 and passed away February 9, 2020. Gale became a modern American Folk Ragtime Piano Troubadour. Gale started playing piano at age 6 and became interested in boogie-woogie and Dixieland music around 11. At 15 years old, he heard Ragtime Piano music and compositions by Scott Joplin and set out with the ambition to memorize all of Joplin’s Rags. He played with numerous local groups as a teenager and became increasingly interested in Dixieland and Ragtime. Gale eventually made contact with the Canadian Ragtime Society and got his hands on some authentic ragtime sheet music. From then on, Gale ragged up everything he played. Gale built a business as a piano tuner. He then went on to become a traveling Folk Ragtime Troubadour performing for audiences for over 50 years and writing his own ragtime compositions. In 1981 Gale released the vinyl album Rhythms in Ragtime with Stomp Off Records. In 2006 Gale released the CD Alabama Bound. Gale also appears on 57 Different Kins of Blues. Gale settled in St. Louis Missouri around 1980 and played daily for the shows on The Goldenrod Showboat as well as playing at various St. Louis area clubs and restaurants. In 1997, Gales composition Carondolette Rag won the new rag category at the World Championship Old-Time Piano Playing Contest. For years Gale has played Ragtime Festivals throughout America including The St. Louis Ragtime Festival, The Sedalia Ragtime Festival, The Rocky Mountain Ragtime Festival, and the Watsonville CA Ragtime Festival.
