Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Judy Carrier Judy Carrier née Judith Ann Reed Bluegrass singer-songwriter known for her powerful vocals and lead guitar playing. A long-time member of the American Federation of Musicians, Nashville Local 257. Born June 23, 1942 in Ludlow, MA. Died July 30, 2018 in Portland, TN. Judith Ann Reed began playing bluegrass locally as a young teenager with Wynn Fay and the Ridge Runners, later working on Radio WHMP, Northampton, MA. Her future husband and duet partner Vernon “Whitey” Carrier was a member of the band. In addition to playing festivals and clubs in the region, Reed and Carrier played on Clyde Joy’s weekly television show on WMUR, Manchester, NH, for 12 years. In 1980, four years after her husband died, Judy Carrier moved to Nashville. Very shortly afterwards she recorded her critically acclaimed, first solo album "From the Berkshires to the Smokies" at Bobby Osborne’s recording studio. She described her album in a 1996 Bluegrass Unlimited interview as, “mostly songs I had written with the blood, sweat and tears of my life….and love.” Carrier appeared on Nashville’s Carl Tipton television show and fulfilled her lifelong dream of singing on the stage of the Grand Ol’ Opry when she performed on the Grand Ol’ Gospel Hour broadcast on WSM in 1981. In 1986 Judy was invited to play a tour of The Netherlands where she met her second husband and duet partner, Rens Vreeburg. Two years later he joined her in Tennessee where they were married. They were together for 29 years until her death. The couple played the Midnight Jamboree on several occasions, travelled to Europe four times to perform in The Netherlands, Switzerland, The Czech Republic, Austria and Belgium. For six years, the Vreeburgs produced a bluegrass festival, The Dutch Woodpecker Bluegrass Jamboree, on their property northwest of Portland, TN.

Search Add 2 Herr Rosen Ilker Guller Herr Rosen is a Berlin-based techno artist with a twist — he didn't come to Berlin to make techno. Metal and rock drummer in a former life, he found a new passion in electronic music, which now serves as a canvas for his diverse influences. Drawing from his Mediterranean roots, Herr Rosen infuses the Berlin techno scene with intriguing beats and refreshing sounds, interweaving powerful techno rhythms with hypnotic, broken tones and diverse cultural motifs.

Search Add 2 Phillip Watkins Phillip started his career at the age of three, when he sang at the local Independent Chapel, Saron, where his mother was the organist. He and his elder brother Elved won many prizes in local Eisteddfodau as duettists. Eventually Phillip emerged as a boy treble, and began his serious competitive career at the age of eight. Today one can count a hundred and twenty eight cups glittering in the glass cupboard at Castell Du Farm, his home, not to mention his medals and shields. He won twice at the Urdd Eisteddfod, but perhaps his most prized possession is the trophy which he won at the Royal National Eisteddfod, Flint, in 1969, when he sang Benjamin Britten's The Plough Boy'. When one adds all this to his concert work, his recordings and his Radio and T.V. performances one cannot but marvel at this achievement from a boy of fifteen. His first major concert was at Tabernacle, Morriston, in the company of operatic stars John Lawrenson, Victoria Elliot and the Morriston Tabernacle Choir conducted by Alun John. This was quickly followed by his appearance as a soloist, with combined choirs of 500 voices, at the Brangwyn Hall, Swansea. Subsequently, he enthralled 7,000 people at the Royal Albert Hall in a St. David's Day concert staged by the London Welsh Association. The Royal Opera House, Covcnt Garden, invited Phillip to sing seven performances as the shepherd boy in the opera Tosca'. Unfortunately, Phillip had to decline this invitation due to school examinations. He has appeared on Yorkshire T.V. with Harry Secombe in 'Stars on Sunday' and has featured in numerous BBC Wales programmes such as 'Telewele', Disc a Dawn, New o'r Ncwvdd, and Wales Today for World Service Radio. Phillip's first long playing disc was made at the Royal Albert Hall in November 1969, with the Royal Choral Society in a selection of Christmas Carols and conducted by Wyn Morris. The mature quality of his voice and his 'extreme professionalism', to quote one noble critic, united to make him one of the greatest boy soloists.

Search Add 2 Oua.ch The trio oua.ch was founded in 2003 and presents with the exciting "The Essence Of A Deep Kiss" already their fourth CD. The three musicians have found the best interaction long ago and persuade with a wide range of musical influences – and they show in a perfect way, that innovative music does not have to be top-heavy. Unconventional, spontaneous and inventive is their repertoire and it results in a witty mixture of emotional and contemporary and multicultural self penned compositions. The band always knows how to surprise with their interactive improvisation. Strongly stamped by the sound of each individual instrumentalist, oua.ch balances ingeniously between stomach and tricky arrangements and let the diverse style influences unite to a special all. The trio surrounding known guitar master Markus Moser can more and more be seen and heard on stages all over Europe, but including some overseas visits such as at the Cuban Jazz-Festival in Havana and more. Have an eye on them and an ear for them!

Search Add 2 Geschwister Friedrich Biography The musical career of the Friedrich siblings began in 1986, when Alexandra Toberer-Friedrich and Andreas Friedrich turned to traditional folk music. Soon after, Andreas Heiling and cousin Günther Pöllabauer join the siblings. Together, the four-member folk music ensemble develops a repertoire of traditional pieces and their own compositions, including works that have become known, such as "Rural Peace", "Autumn Thoughts", "Weit!" as well as numerous vocal pieces, which were orchestrated by Alexandra Toberer-Friedrich and Andreas Heiling and have already been used as film music. For some time now, Heinz Steinbauer and Ramona Oswald have been enriching the sound of the group and enabling a greater variety of programmes. Out of tradition, the ensemble finds its own personal style, which is particularly audible in its own compositions. The motivation – to break new ground within a tradition – is of particular concern to the Friedrich siblings. Works of different character, varied instruments, a wealth of timbres and the expression of individual moods are the result of a joint maturation process. Search Add 2 Flusnoix Flusnoix is a collective of improv collaborators based in and around Montevallo, AL and has been performing live since 2015. The idea for Flusnoix originated with founder Jess Marie Walker’s desire to create work imbued with a Fluxus sensibility and to translate the act of drawing into a sonic experience. After developing her sound making techniques of flusdrawxing and flusvoxing for use in art installations and performances, she initiated a series of improv sessions which evolved into Flusnoix.
