These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

New York-based composer Lynn Wright had gathered a group of musicians––among them his then principal collaborator Sparklehorse’s Paul Watson and bassist Tony Maimone (Pere Ubu, etc.) ––to record songs he had written for other singers. Early in the proceedings, the engineer refused to continue working unless Wright sang them himself. He agreed. Between 2010 and early 2016 And The Wiremen recording an eponymous album, the EP Send Me Low, and a single Caged Bird with a multi-generational, genre-crossing gaggle of musicians. When so inclined and their usual musical duties allowed, they would do short tours of the US and Europe, and then disappear from whence they came. In 2016 the band went on hiatus following Watson’s premature retirement from music due to worsening symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Wright went back to composing for dance and film, performing with various free-improvisation and new music ensembles, and released an album with Swan’s guitarist Norman Westberg and former Swans/Foetus bassist Algis Kizys under the moniker This Is Where. The band reconvened at the end of 2019 for series of shows in New York. With their new album Night Cracks Harbor, slated for a fall 2020 release, the on again/off again project becomes a more focused band, helmed by Wright with violinist Simon Goff serving as co-producer and arranger. The nourish jazz tendencies that were prominent on their early recordings are less obvious, and the music falls somewhere between a post-rock iteration of early Roxy Music and the fringes of PJ Harvey’s more recent work. As Always, it is really a sound of their own, no matter how familiar it may seem. | |

At one of their concerts, you are just as likely to hear the music of contemporary composers as you would the classic sounds of Count Basie or Glenn Miller. Several of the band's members are also gifted composers and arrangers, and their compositions are often featured in concert. The band has backed many jazz greats such as Tex Benecke, Denis DiBlasio, Jamey Aebersold, Mike Smith, Bobby Shew, Allen Vizzutti, Jeff Jarvis, Mike Vax, Vaughn Nark, Bill Porter, Carmen Bradford, Shelley Berg, Joe Morello, Steve Houghton, and Walt Levinsky. Furthermore, the ensemble is often requested for featured performances at jazz clinics and festivals throughout the country. Occasionally, the Shades of Blue marches onto home plate to perform national anthems for Chicago White Sox Major League Baseball games, or onto center court to perform for Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks National Basketball Association games. They also pay frequent tribute to the Air Force's musical heritage, and have collaborated with actor Wilford Brimley on a highly acclaimed salute to Major Glenn Miller. For all who possess this eager anticipation the wait is now over, as Florida’s best kept secret steps on center stage. By way of Melbourne, Florida many know him as Iceburg Tony but you can call him Burga! This young talented rapper, whose music not only emanates a street edge for the hood hustlers, but also conveys a swagger that’s sure to catch the attention of the ladies, is a definite rising star. Burga, formerly known as Iceburg Tony, was born and raised in Melbourne, Florida located in Brevard County or as Burga likes to call it…“Count Down County 321.” As the second oldest child of five, his family has always been a big influence in his life. Even at a young age he held a deep admiration for his parents and their marriage. He respected his father for just being there for his family regardless of the circumstances. “I really look up to my father cause when I was growing up, most of my friends didn’t have a father-figure and you could definitely see how it affected their lives.” In regards to his mother, he always viewed her as the strong matriarch that she is, the glue that held it all together. Another prominent figure who played a big role in Burga’s life was his big brother, K Low. This role centered on music and Burga’s love for rap started to take shape at the youthful age of thirteen. It’s no doubt that his brother is at the top of the list of his musical influences. Burga reminisces on how he was always sharpening his skills against his oldest sibling but he admits there were also other major musical influences too. These included certified street rappers such as 2Pac, Notorious Big, Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy, just to name a few. However, Burga's life soon took a drastic turn for the worse when his family started experiencing major financial difficulties. He started hustling with his older brother to help provide additional income for the family. Consequently, it wasn’t long before he became accustomed to the flashy lifestyle associated with hustling such as the women, the clothes, the jewelry and the cars. Just like this fiery rapper says in his current hot single, “Um Balling,” Burga is sure "to get the money first and never let the money wait". With this concept in mind, trapping with his brother turned into a thriving venture. Fortunately, Burga wanted to surpass that level of success through his music and started a rap group with his brother and cousins called Wide Open. While he was in the tenth grade, the group released a song called "WO" that became an instant hit throughout Brevard County. Things started getting serious for the group as the song began getting air time at radio stations 94.3 and 95.1 as well as shows all over the county. With all of Burga’s attention focused on music and hustling, school was placed on the back burner and eventually he dropped out of school in the tenth grade. Although the group was experiencing major accomplishments, they decided to go their separate ways. Burga went on to pursue his solo career under Real Life Promotions with manager Lil T in 2005. Through his term with the new management, Burga released three mixtapes titled, Getcha Money Up Volume 2, Bottom of the Map and Rape the Market. “I like to call what I do reality music. I talk about the things real people go through every day like the struggling, hustling, and relationship problems.” These mixtapes exhibited his love for hustling and his unwavering dedication to the streets, while simultaneously showing his style and versatility through songs that related to everyday life regardless of the listener. “I have songs for any occasion. If you’re going through something, I’m telling you how to get past it. And if you’re not, I’m telling you how to avoid these situations.” His major singles, “Um Balling” and “Over You,” were hits in Melbourne Florida and were featured on radio stations 94.3 and 95.1 where they continued to generate a buzz. The mixtapes' success allowed Burga the opportunity to perfect his captivating stage presence and performance by opening up for many major artists, which includes some of the same people who influenced his music career-Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, B.G., T.I., Plies, and Rick Ross. Nevertheless, after seven years with Lil T, Burga was ready for a change in direction and wanted to move on to accomplish even greater things. Burga's determination and hunger motivated him to reach out and present his music to C. Wakeley aka "The Record Breaker" and founder of The Gate Keepers. He expressed his desire to work with C. Wakeley on two occassions which finally led to a meeting between Burga, C. Wakeley and Wakeley's partner Big Beast. He always respected C. Wakeley, Blood Raw’s former manager, for his sharp business sense, powerful presence and first-hand experience in the music industry. So ultimately, when Burga found out C. Wakeley and Big Beast were impressed by his music and interested in working with him, he knew he couldn’t let the moment and opportunity pass. Wakeley has said that he first heard of Burga through industry vet, DJ DA of Brevard County after DA handed him a mixtape that immediately captivated him. Burga was starting to really see his music career take off into a new direction. “Giving up was never an option. If there’s something you’re truly passionate about, then go out and make it happen. If you’re dedicated, it will all come together.” Burga’s now back in the studio working on a new mixtape hosted by C. Wakeley and Big Beast, which is sure to be a street banger-satisfying the everyday hustlers, while still catering to the sexy ladies. He was born in Blackpool, Lancashire, England and educated at Arnold School and the University of Sussex. He worked on Radio Four's Week Ending and other programmes often with [a=Tony Allen (20)]. In 1988 he wrote the script for the comedy musical Quasimodo with music by Richard Rowland. Between 1971 and 1974 he recorded songs at Richard Branson's Manor Studio and these were issued in 1974 on an LP, titled "Max", on Virgin's Caroline label imprint. A single, "Stephanie" (B-side "All I Know"), was taken from the LP and released on the Virgin label proper (as was normal for those Caroline artists that got to release singles). The album and single were credited to "Max" with the surname dropped. The Virgin label connection came about because Handley had been on the production team for [a4812584]'s "Student" magazine. Handley's first novel 'Oliver Poges Lives' was published by Arlington Books Ltd in 1970 and takes the form of a series of letters detailing increasingly bizarre suicide attempts by the protagonist. This was followed by 'Sheep' in 1971 also published by Arlington Books Ltd. His 1977 Science Fiction novel 'Meanwhile' is set on an unnamed island and combines a wide range of individual narratives and themes. Max was killed in a paragliding accident. | |
