Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Weatherproof | Mark Remsa & Bryan Scheiner | weatherPROOF evolved in 2007 under the vision of Remsa and Event. After completion of their first demo and playing several area shows in New Jersey, weatherPROOF performed on the Hot Topic Kevin Says Stage of the 2007 Vans Warped Tour. In the early spring of 2009, weatherPROOF released their first full-length album Metropolis. The album features guest appearances from Mac Lethal, Sam Doom, and more. Over a span of four years between 2006 to 2010, weatherPROOF recorded material for what would later be released on their sophomore album Dirty Naturals. Dirty Naturals features guest appearances from Ras Kass, Orifice Vulgatron [of Foreign Beggars], Louis Logic, DJ Soko and more. Dirty Naturals also features production from Mr. Concept, Entity, The Boy of Summer, and Wizard. The album received positive reviews from a variety of media outlets. Old To The New described Dirty Naturals as one of "2013's first essential albums" and Rapmusic.com wrote "weatherPROOF's Dirty Naturals is definitely a timely LP... an impeccably-produced boom-bap record that captures the laid-back cypher feel of the early-to-mid 90s." |

Search | Add | 4 | Hugh Ricks | Hugh Alvin Ricks | New Orleans artist (1939-2005) His designs for everything from early Jazzfest posters to Zatarain's spice labels, from the White Pages cover dedicated to the Aquarium of the Americas to the logos of the Hilton Hotel, were part of the New Orleans artistic landscape for decades. He applied his customary sense of dedication to his commercial art career, working tirelessly on a steady stream of high-profile commissions from the 1960s onward: The Crescent City Classic poster, the Albuquerque Balloon Festival poster, the Boston Marathon poster. He won so many design and art awards over the years that he eventually stopped entering such competitions. Ricks grew up in the Iberville housing project and lied about his age to enter the U.S. Marine Corps early. When his deception was discovered near the end of boot camp, he was forced to wait a few months before he endured the arduous training regime a second time. After his discharge from the service, he studied design at Delgado Community College while working as a security guard at NASA. |

Search | Add | 4 | Nico Demonte | Nico started his musical journey with 80s dance electronic electronica italo disco pop synth pop synthpop. Nico’s sound has traveled across radio stations WNUR 89.3 FM, WLUW 88.7 FM, WZBC 90.3 FM Newton/Boston, WZLY 91.5 FM, 93.1 FM, and WMBR 88.1 FM in Cambridge where he hosted his own electronic Chicago house show. D.e.a.t.h. D.i.s.c.o. Radio program director Nico brings talent the likes of DJ Hell, Larry Tee, Mr. K-Alexi, Adriano Canzian, The Model, Mihai Popoviciu, Masstyk, Mick Wills, Play Paul, Princess Superstar, Gene Farris, Reid Speed, Salvatore Cusato, Casco, and Funky Junction among others. Nico always had a fascination with Chicago house music, and let it known through his collection of the Trax Records Chicago label. The breakup of Chicago groups from the 1990's, including Nico Flash, Future Gazers, Boys Club led to the eventual inspiration for Nico’s "Material Boy" and “Who’s That Guy” remixes that were inspired by Madonna's "Material Girl," themes. The band recently recorded under "State of The Art" Boys Club impresario transformed into the power pop personality of Nico in 1996. It was Kraftwerk's masterpiece, The Man Machine (1978), that formed the inspiration for Nico Demonte's remix of the “Man Machine” classic. Kraftwerk's "Showroom Dummies" also formed the inspiration for Nico "Mannequins in Alleys" singles. Nico (class of 1991) and rock legend Billy Corgan and lead singer of the “Smashing Pumpkins” (class of 1985) both graduated from Glenbard North High School in Illinois. While Billy Corgan was forming his first band “The Marked” in 1985 (prior to Billy Corgan forming the Smashing Pumpkins), Nico Demonte played jazz and classical music as a saxaphonist, while dabbling in electronics to find new sounds. In 1990, Nico studied acting under the teacher of Animal House and SNL actor John Belushi. In 1995, Nico and Stymie began Genesis Project Recordings in Chicago, running it out of their garage. In 1998, Nico expanded his sound following numerous trips to Zurich, Switzerland and at the legendary club Tresor in Berlin. Inspired by Berlin legends Dr. Motte, Paul van Dyk, Tanith, Jonzon, Rok, Kid Paul, Nico released “Der Auslander.” Nico’s release of his full length CD "Der Auslander" (1999) made it to the CMJ charts and was followed up by singles and remixes like the 12" EP Phantasmagoria and the remix of skylab2000’s hit “Ten Re-Entry” EP. “ This Chicago songwriter openly attributes Ministry's Al Jourgensen, Wax Trax! Records, the keyboard sequences of My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult and the industrial sounds of Front 242 as creative inspirations. During these years of late night productions and radio gigs where test promos were always the norm, Nico was further influenced by the sultry sounds of Chicago’s legendary Frankie Knuckles, Michael Serafini, Madonna, Moby, U2, and David Bowie, vowing to create his own splash on the frontier of the music scene. Following a record release party in 1997, the legendary Chicago to DJ at “Medusa’s” Nightclub. Nico DJ’s and performs live at Chicago nightclubs Vision, Rednofive, Medusa’s Mission, Ice Bar Chicago, The Dragon Room, in Las Vegas, St. Thomas and the Virgin Islands, and around the states. Nico has played alongside Felix Da Housecat, Green Velvet aka Cajmere, Tommie Sunshine, KC the Drummer, Stymie, DJ Boogieman, Phantom 45, Dan Efex, DJ Dayhota, DJ Lady D, Invisible Scratch Piklz, D-Styles and Qbert, Hyperactive, Mazi, Mark Almaria, 3D, skylab2000, and others. Nico is founder of the 8 bit pop group Commodore 64 Orchestra (www.commodore64orchestra.com). When the release of Der Auslander received radioplay on 88.7 it caught fire in the Chicago underground, and was inspired by Cajmere’s (aka Green Velvet) ghettotech single "Time for the Perculator", DJ Ron Hardy, Jesse Saunders, Devo, Adonis, K-Alexi, Mr. Lee and the genius of Larry Sherman. A pivotal point came with the 1986 releases of the House anthem of "Move Your Body" by Marshall Jefferson, Phuture’s "Acid Trax,” and Maurice Joshua / Hot Hands Hula's "This Is Acid." Nico’s 2000 single "Collapse of Civilization" was inspired by his experience at the legendary Berlin club Tresor, followed by the sexy dance track Phantasmagoria released in 2001. In 2003, Nico Demonte remixed skylab2000’s commercial hit “Ten,” with the Boys Club club classic released in 2003. The inspiring pop sound of Boys Club was directly inspired from the vision of Telex's "Moskow Diskow," "Thomas Dolby, Gary Numan, Yaz, OMD, John Foxx, Japan, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Juan Atkins and 3070 aka Cybotron, New Order, Human League, Farley Jackmaster Funk's "The Acid Life, and Men Without Hats. Nico is one of the founders of the EJ MIDI Turntable (EJ Enterprises Worldwide), specializing in the world’s first video turntable and other future music technologies. Nico’s EP “Alive” is scheduled for releases in 2005. Paris Hilton's inspiration for the classic “ATM GIRL” was coincidental. After hearing Donna Summer and the Disco classic “The Chase” by Giorgio Moroder, Astley states that Nico recognized the cultural relavence of Pop Icons like Paris and Nikky Hilton by writing his classic “ATM GIRL©®.” Astley states that a CD containing songs like the sexy synth pop anthem, "ATM GIRL©®," from Nico Demonte’s upcoming album, "Alive©®", has gone missing during his electric shock in the Chicago-based studio.

Search | Add | 4 | Los Jemax | Los Jemax | Albert Puig, Andreu Ferreres, Joan Pujol, Miquel Griño and Xavier Amela, five friends from Barcelona, shared their talent to create Los Jemax in the mid-sixties. They played their own songs and covers of the bands they listened to the international radio stations, such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Bob Dylan, The Animals, Wilson Pickett… Their gigs in clubs and discotheques (San Carlos Club, Gogo, Peter’s Club…) were amazing and full of energy. They became a very popular band in their city, specially when they were the winners of a contest hosted by Radio Barcelona. The prize was a contract with Columbia to release two singles. They recorded four songs under the direction of José María Solá, the musical boss of the label. There were published three postcards to promote the upcoming 7”s. But all of them were never released because of intern changes in Columbia. Los Jemax played alongside Los Canarios, Lone Star, Los Sirex, Tete Montoliu, Palito Ortega, Micky y los Tonis… and in several TV commercials. With a repertoire of almost 100 songs that they recorded in the rehearsals at the attic of Joan’s family house, the tapes have been ketp in a drawer for 50 years. |

Search | Add | 4 | Vaudville | Vaudville is: Doug Savage - Vocals Dave LaChance - Guitars Blaine Horn - Bass Kelly Ryan - Drums In 1990, former Rated-X guitarist, Dave LaChance, and drummer, Kelly Ryan, set out to form a band that would not only catch the attention of a thriving Hollywood music scene, but the world as well. To complete the rhythm section, they found ex-G.G. Gangster and Juicy Miss Lucy bassist, Blaine Horn and the nucleus of Vaudville was formed. After months of writing and rehearsing new material, it was time for the trio to find the right voice to complete their aggressive, street wise brand of hard rock. A nation wide search led them to Ohio, home of Nasty Action frontman, Doug Savage. A couple weeks later, Savage was on a plane bound for Los Angeles, and the line-up was set. By early 1991, Vaudville exploded onto the L.A. club scene, and made its mark in no time. The band quickly gained a large following and found themselves headlining shows up and down the Sunset Strip. This was followed by the release of their first, five song demo, which propelled them to the top of the scene. By the time they released their second, four song demo, they were solidified as a Hollywood powerhouse. Vaudville disbanded in 1993.

Writing in Chamber Music magazine, Kyle Gann said "...her music takes ideas of American musical style to a new place - like a walk in a familiar, yet very different park... And isn't afraid to come up with its own startling conclusions."[1] The music journalist Bob Briggs noted, "...she writes music which speaks to the senses, is packed with real emotion and, most important of all in contemporary music, really communicates."[2] She has been awarded grants from Meet The Composer, ASCAP, the American Music Center, NYFA, and the American Composers Forum. Worthington also serves as Artistic Administrator and Composer Advocate for the New York Women Composers.

Search | Add | 4 | Aleksandra Kabakova | Aleksandra Kabakova | Aleksandra Kabakova is an artist from St Petersburg, Russia. Since 2008 working on worldwide commissions, including book and magazine illustrations, greeting cards, CD covers etc. "Working primarily with pen, ink, pencil and watercolour, the sensitive, young creative’s art is both simplistic and involved – utilising basic shapes and line work to create patterned, black and white graphic works. At times her imagery feels melancholic but devoid of cynicism, then carefree & playful whilst always distinctly feminine and delicate". James Watkins "In my works I would like to show an emotional perception of a glimpse of a life span, its mood and atmosphere. It can be an emotional splash or a total quietness and melancholy, when the wind has abated and all around has stood. I believe that not only people have emotions, but also all the things around us. Slow movement of clouds, shades of trees, soaring of birds, falling of a raindrop, old boats, houses, street lights, electric mains, branches of trees, snag trees and blades of grass create their own special mood of the moment. We can feel their loneliness, sadness, expectation and hope that fleeting mood of a moment which I want to capture. Frequent subjects of my works are trees and a floral subject matter in general. Trees for me are similar to people, as unique, mysterious and beautiful, as people with their individual characters and specific features. Also I adore drawing birds, I love them since my childhood. I remember a story when my cousin and me have found a rook with a broken wing in the snow. The bird lived with us in the apartment until it completely recovered and was able to fly away. Birds are absolutely astonishing creatures, nobody has got feathers but them, and their feathers are so light and fragile, like petals of flowers. They soar freely above the earth seeing our world from a bird’s eye view". Aleksandra Kabakov For inquiries please contact me: aleksandra.kabakova@gmail.com www.kabakova.com |
