Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025
Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 4 | Stephen Merriman | Stephen Rich Merriman | I play jazz piano, and I compose music—mostly jazz: set pieces, and compositions that can work as stand-alone offerings, and also serve as vehicles for jazz improvisation and exploration. I was called to piano at age 7, nearly seven decades ago now. The keyboard, and the universe contained within it, have been my true, most constant friends and companions throughout this lifetime. Originally, playing the piano was a means to preserve my sanity during childhood—to express and offload emotions that dared not be put into words in an abusive, ignorant, addictions-ridden household. Knowledge about harmony and musical composition, and the desire to develop improvisational proficiency, took root. They accompanied me, developing at their own, unhurried pace as I grew older and encountered the challenges of how to live in the world and be comfortable in my own skin. In any setting where I play, I always “come to play.” Sometimes I play quite well; other times I play not so well. Regardless of what kind of day I'm having, I always play to "express," rather than to "entertain." Although my compositional gifts are my stronger suit and have come more naturally to me, I still love and appreciate my playing skills equally, and I’m grateful to have both capabilities. Here’s what I can promise you, should you choose to wade into my compositions and my playing: There is no hustle, no hype, no slick promotion, no cheap charisma nor pandering, no cult of personality, no cultivating the folklore of the “suffering artist” or exulting in a self-indulgent, eccentric lifestyle, no bragging rights, no sense of being in competition with anything, or anyone. There is only the movement of soul from one moment to the next, ever sampling the richness of the palate of Creation—daring, at the insistence of the Muse, to transform some of Its wonders (from all directions) into musical expression. Creating, via composing, playing set pieces, or “hanging out” on—risking—the unforeseen, high-wire surprises (both + and -) of jazz improvisation and exploration, is daunting: sometimes joyous, sometimes fun, sometimes exhilarating, often exhausting, sometimes heart-wrenching, sometimes serene, and everything in between. Whatever the experience that, in any given moment, finds itself revealed—either through a composition or within an improvised chorus (or both)—the music, and the motivation behind it, are soul-based. In their conception and presentation, they are pure. |

| Search | Add | 4 | H.A.L.O. Vessel | HALO Vessel began after Ed Matus decided to take a break from the Miami Hardcore scene and go straight into the world of experimental electronica. Armed with a drum machine, an old synthesizer and an army of noisy guitar pedals he began to record a series of 4 track recordings which caught the attention of Audio Electric. In 1998, Audio Electric released his first full length effort. The self titled full length (also known as "Post Miami Vice Electronics" drew heavily from the influences of Herbie Hancock, Kraftwerk, and Jan Hammer, but still showed off a noisy and raw sensibility which gave Matus a reputation for making sonically organic electronic music. Though certain trademarks would remain evident, his overall sound and direction evolved into what became his second release for Audio Electric, "Honest Men" E.P. Released in 2002, "Honest Men" was a quantum leap in terms of sound and style. In the first HALO Vessel full length, the overall vision was of smooth rhythms and futuristic synths. In "Honest Men", rhythms became aggressive, destructive, and pregnant with heavy bass. The synths were no longer smooth and futuristic. In "Honest Men", they became jagged, and at times, even howled like gigantic rusting machinery. Aesthetically speaking, Matus was displaying a different future than the one he showed in his first release. After the live experience of HALO Vessel, Matus deliberately set out to make a recording which almost sounded live as opposed to the very dry and sterile production heard in many IDM recordings of the time. | |

To compose its music, the group draws on Amazigh sounds to which it adds contemporary rhythms. The strong presence of the art of the Rwayes earned it the title of "Rwayes of modern times". Template:Which, the essential goal is to revive the heritage of the Rwayes and to revalue their art which is gradually falling into oblivion. Members Abderahim Moustaine: guitar Mounir Kaddouri: piano and electronic keyboard Ali Faiq: vocals Ahmad Ouarsass: outar / guitar Foulane Bouhcine: Ribab Jamal Oussfi: drums Rahal Bouaddi: bass guitar Musical style The musical style of the group is essentially inspired by the art of Rwayes, with an intensive use of Ribab to reproduce original Amazigh sounds. Palfrey (°1986, Detmold, Germany) AKA Imago Mortis makes photos, films, mixed media artworks and sculpture. By referencing the traditions of alchemy and the occult, surrealism, gothic romanticism, grand-guignolesque black humour, and symbolism, Palfrey creates his work through experimental and often labour-intensive processes which can be seen explicitly as a personal exorcism ritual. With the motto “Art is Dead | Death is Art” Palfrey distils the macabre traditions of fine art found in the surrealists, dada, romantics, pre-Raphaelites, and medieval eras to create dark conceptual photography and films; utilising elements such as infra-red, low-key lighting, long-exposures, double exposures, and traditional analog methods. Palfrey also creates alchemy and occult inspired paintings as well as sculptural taxidermy through the crystallisation and oxidisation of skulls, bones and shells. Sean M. Palfrey currently lives and works in Lincoln, UK and is available for selected commissions. Biography graciously provided by Mr. Corbin Grimm (2017) |

| Search | Add | 4 | The Evolution of the Arm | The Evolution of the Arm channels imaginary chamber music from an alternate universe. A quartet of improvisers drawing on collective experience in classical, jazz, experimental, noise, and theater music, they’ve developed their telepathic connection across genre, time, and space. The group first convened in November 2017 in Buffalo, NY under the creative auspices of Western New York expatriate Michael McNeill (keyboards, composition). Having worked together in various combinations in Wooden Cities, Buffalo Bach Project, and Parvenue, Mike called upon Megan Kyle (oboe, English horn), Evan Courtin (violin, voice), and Katie Weissman (cello, electronics) to join him in this new endeavor. Very quickly, the group decided to focus solely on their own compositions. Since 2017, the Evolution of the Arm has performed at various venues in Buffalo and McNeill’s new home state of Virginia. Throughout this time, the group’s repertoire has come to include the original semi-composed/semi-improvised suite Jackrabbit’s Palace by McNeill, Courtin’s trio pawns for oboe, cello and voice (featuring poetry by Marina Blitshteyn) and pieces of Kyle’s ongoing text-score project, the Invisible Series. Weissman frequently rounds out programs with cello and electronics improvisations. In the summer of 2019 the group recorded their debut album Sounds Like with engineer Chris Jacobs at the University at Buffalo. Their individual and collective musical explorations continue to evolve. | |
