Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 ידין טננבוים ידין טננבוים Yadin, son of Rivka (Solomon) and Zvi Tenenbaum, seventh generation in Israel, was born and raised in Israel. At age 11 he began studying flute with Dr. Uri Teplitz, principal flutist of the Israel Philharmonic. Yadin was a recipient of scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and prizes from the Israel Conservatory of Music. Upon his enlistment, Yadin was offered a position in the IDF Orchestra, but chose combat duty instead. On the eve of October 7, 1973, Yadin was stationed near the Suez Canal as a tank gunner. He fell in action at the age of 19, in battle against Egyptian tanks which crossed the canal. Fighting from a tank stuck in the mud with its chains severed, the crew had managed to demolish an Egyptian tank and a bulldozer, and then suffered a direct hit from enemy fire. For his outstanding courage, he was decorated posthumously with the Exemplary Conduct Medal. Yadin, who initially had been announced missing in action, was brought to burial in October 1974. Despite his young age, Yadin left a considerable musical bequest of recordings, including solo and ensemble performances of classical works and more recent music, originally compiled in a recording produced by Hed Artzi in 1975 and released on CD in 2013. The composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein, upon hearing Yadin's biography, wrote the nocturne "Halil" in his memory for solo flute and orchestra featuring strings, percussion, piccolo and alto flute. Since its premiere, in Tel Aviv in May 1981 by the Israel Philharmonic under Bernstein's direction with soloist Jean-Pierre Rampal, the work has been performed by prestigious orchestras and soloists throughout the world. In 2008, in honor of Bernstein's 90th birthday and 50 years of his direction of the New York Philharmonic, it was performed by the Israel Philharmonic conducted by Gustavo Dudamel with Eyal Ein-Habar as soloist in Tel Aviv, New York, and additional cities in the US. On the occasion of the world-wide celebration of the 100th birthday of Leonard Bernstein "Halil" was played in Boston, New York, Mexico, San Paolo, London, Edinburgh, Seville, Hiroshima and Tokyo to name only few. Israel Prize honoree Batia Lichansky created the sculpture "Flutist" in memory of Yadin and in his image. Yadin's memory is also commemorated at the Israel Museum and Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, and at the Eretz Israel Museum in Tel Aviv. Note: background was given to me to be published here, by Ella Koren from www.yadin1973.org.il.

Joe Killaz released its debut album in 2002, changing the name to [a=The Killaz] after [l=Hasbro]'s "cease & desist" notice. It was a conceptual project depicting "Cobra Collective," a fictional terrorist group from the '80s animated TV series G.I. Joe as a rap trio: featuring Jirku as DJ Cobra Commander, MC Destro and the Baroness. The group debuted in October 2001 with [r=1424338] EP on the Canadian net-label [l=No Type] (which also released most of Jirku's early solo productions). The following year, the trio produced its self-titled album, [r=2215996] CD, published via "Cobra Records" private imprint, manufactured and distributed by a prominent Canadian independent label [l=Alien8 Recordings]. The record featured skillful Tomas Jirku's instrumental productions and copiously sampled the original "G.I. Joe" TV show.

Search Add 2 Rocky Mountain Oysterz Psychedelic R´n´R Hodonín, Czech Republic About The Psychedelic R'n'R Band - Viva La Psychedelica The Rocky Mountain Oysters project was created in September 2012 on the basis of an agreement between musicians and teammates previously working in Princess Of The Dawn (1998-2001). The band cites the city of Pripyat as its starting point, near the former Chernobyl nuclear power plant. It is a targeted mystification that highlights the post-communist Eastern bloc with its current problems related to the recent past, as well as the demagogic practices of totalitarian regimes, of which Chernobyl is a symbol. The work of RMO is influenced mainly by psychedelic rock, but of course it is possible to find traces of many other musical elements and genres. It also deals with the essence and spirituality of man, which is not excluded with a dense sound. Exactly opposite. After all, come, listen and judge for yourself. You are welcome. Viva La Psychedelica. RMO

Search Add 2 Jack Spellazza He has opened for musical icons like Muddy Waters, Billy Joel, the Byrds, and the Boxtops. And he did all of this while he was still in his teens. In 1973 Jack began his yearly trips to L.A. in pursuit of the elusive deal from the music industry. His music always managed to generate interest, but it wasn’t until 1979 when he moved out to L.A. that his dream begin to take shape. Along the way he caught the ears and eyes of Robert Stigwood and Jerry Weintraub. With his musical collaborators his stories and music were able to catch the attention of Disney, Hanna-Barbara, and Dreamworks to name a few. Jack is a song painter in every sense of the word, writing and performing his own unique version of many styles from pop to R&B, Broadway to folk. Throughout the 80’s he performed his original works either as a solo artist or with the group River Debris at various clubs and venues throughout the St. Louis area. In the late 90’s Jack began recording the whimsical children’s musical “Hats For The Elephants” which was drawn from his own childhood memories of the zoo. In 2000, Jack developed “Lights On The Grand Basin,” a musical based on his grandparent’s memories of the 1904 St. Louis World Fair. The musical love story offers an exquisite look at a time when folks from all over the country were saying “Meet Me In St. Louis.” In 2006, Jack received a commission to write a historical musical about one of the earliest river towns in Missouri. “Hills Above The Riverbank” covers 200 years of the history of St. Charles, a town that grew on the banks of the Missouri near the confluence of the Mississippi.

Search Add 2 Grupo Queluz De Minas Grupo QueLuz De Minas The "Queluz" Group started in 1979 in Conselheiro Lafaiete, Minas Gerais... in order to do a concert in tribute to a musician of our city, João Salgado, was teacher of 02 band members. He was part of the family "Salgado" who was known for making the legendary, and now rare, "Violas Queluz" . After the success of the initial event were several proposals for presentations and emerging group performed in numerous cities in "Minas Gerais" and important projects in the state capital. The group was awarded in many festivals of song, very common in the era. In 1981 launched a 7" double, In 1982 a LP "Prá Vida" all favoring music copyright. These LP are depleted. In the 90's came a compilation bringing together these 02 papers on a CD, which is also sold out. The Queluz was basically a vocal - acoustic group playing their own songs. Even today, even after its extinction in 1983 many young musicians still perform frequently their songs like: "Esse Meu Coração", "Veludo" e "Poeira". The Group will launch in December 2013, an EP with four songs and unpublished copyright. Grupo QueLuz De Minas
