Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 Sweet Claudette Claudette Harrell Blues singer based in Detroit, Michigan, USA area. Born May 5 1942 in Heflin Alabama Died January 6 2020 in Royal Oak Michigan “Sweet Claudette” Harrell-Manning lived life to the fullest. In total, she had seven careers, all of which she started at the bottom and worked her way up with only a high school education. As a young woman, she was a single mother of four children while working full time. A difficult task being an African-American female, pre-civil rights. Born in 1942 in Heflin, Alabama, 1 of 5 children; John, Hank, Claudette, Annie and Eudell. The family lived there until she was 5 years old, when they moved to Chicago. The stayed there only a year before settling in the Detroit area. After graduating from Ferndale High School in 1961(?), Claudette’s first job was a Recruiter for the military during the Vietnam War (although not enlisted). Then she became a nurse at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital. Next, she worked for Consumers Power, reading meters at first, advancing to Administrative Assistant. I. B. M. hired her into warehouse parts distribution, but she quickly advanced to Employment Recruiter. After several years, she retired to open her own graphic design business. This grew into several other shops/stores of various ceramic creations. It was around this time (age 50) that she caught “The Blues Bug” and began singing in local clubs. Having roots in Alabama, she easily connected to blues artists there as well. With her “sweet” attitude and “spontaneous comedy” performing style, success came quickly. Having already written a book of poetry, songwriting was the next natural step in her evolution. She went on to eventually write, record and release 44 songs on 6 CD’s. Her final “day job” was Administrative Management at Michigan Department of Natural Resources (D.N.R.). It was during this time that she met and eventually married drummer Greg Manning. Together, they have assembled various teams of skilled musicians, performing around the Detroit Metro Area, Canada, and the South.

Search Add 3 Toña Granado Antonieta Granado Toña Granado, (Antonieta Granado), was born in the city of Caracas, Venezuela. She was born into a family that loves music. Since she was a little girl she astonished her music teachers by the tone of her voice, so she became part of the school choir. Her father was a pianist and composer, and her mother She taught the secrets of the guitar when she was little. Later, he joined the chorus of the Applied Lyceum, being directed by the teacher Inocente Carreño. In his higher education, Toña, becomes a part of the Choir of the Andrés Bello Catholic University, being directed by the teacher Gonzalo Castellanos. He began singing in charity shows, but the reality of his voice led him to continue in the world of song, during the day he sold books and at night he played songs in nightclubs. Until, after his participation in the Ronda Award, in a tribute to Don Armando Manzanero came the proposal of the master composer to record an album "I have not stolen anything" was called the album.

Search Add 3 vMarkus vMarkus is a Finnish-American electronic musician, composer, and performer. In the early 1980s, he began experimenting with combining found sounds and modified pianos with electronic noises created using random pieces of Radio Shack equipment. His first band was the electro-goth duo Burning Kafka, who released one cassette-single, as well as a demo cassette. Differences in musical direction saw the group disband, and vMarkus went on to join the industrial band Crocodile Shop, mainly as a live keyboardist. As the band often jokes, he never left. Taking on added music composing responsibilities, vMarkus worked in close collaboration with singer and musician Mick Hale to create the unique sound of the band, releasing several albums throughout the nineties and early 2000s. As a prolific musician, he has collaborated with a number of musicians and artists, and participated in several side projects including the noise-industrial unit Kunterfaust, drum-and-bass-inspired proGREX.iv (with fellow Crocodile Shop member Mick Hale, as well as George Sarah, Jared Hendrickson, and Sarah Folkman), and gothic art project The Appointed Time. Since 1998, he has recorded and experimented with various EDM genres as the solo-project Subliminal Gravity.
