Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 Eating Cannibals Danilo Sardella Emerging mid-2007 with his first release on Leftroom, Danilo Sardella has since become one of the most interesting talents of modern underground tech-house. From 2009 to 2013 he is part of the duo Lula Circus, well known around the globe for its very distinctive sound, that permit them to work with some of the top labels of the scene (Get Physical, Culprit, Noir, Stil Vor Talent, Ostwind, Resopal and many more) and for the heavy touring all over the planet (Fabric, D-Edge, Tenax, Pacha, Sankeys, Fusion Festival...). 2014 is the year of changes, starting with his own project “Eating cannibals”, which also bears the name of his label, his completely personal idea about electronic music, a step back to his love for techno and melodies, but with the usual and unique way to create grooves, sounds and blending different styles.

Search Add 3 Wookieback Late 1990s Chattanooga sci-fi pop band. "Once upon a time, two 10-year-old boys named Matthew Vollmer & John Ringhofer became best friends. They both liked Legos, snack cakes, comic books, & riding bikes. Five years after high school, a reunited Vollmer & Ringhofer teamed up with John’s hilarious art school drummer buddy Brandon Buckner in Chattanooga & realized that maybe they’d come up with an unbeatable sci-fi pop formula: Wookieback."

Search Add 3 Baba Taher باباطاهر Persian poet from the 11th Century. Baba Tahir (Persian: باباطاهر عریان‎) or Baba Taher Oryan Hamadani (Persian: باباطاهر عریان همدانی‎) was an 11th-century Persian dervish poet from Hamadan, Iran who lived during the reign of Tugril of the Seljuk dynasty over Iran. This is almost all that is known of him as he lived a mysterious lifestyle. Although prefix "Baba" (roughly meaning 'The Wise' or 'The Respected') has been thought as part of his name in all known sources, his nickname "Oryan"( meaning 'The Naked' ) did not appear until about 17th-century.The nickname was probably attributed to him because he seemed to lead a very spiritual and stoic lifestyle and thus was figuratively not clothed with worldly and material needs. His poetry is written in the Hamadani dialect of the Persian language. According to L. P. Elwell-Sutton he probably wrote in the Hamadani dialect, adding: "Most traditional sources call it loosely Luri, while the name commonly applied from an early date to verses of this kind, Fahlaviyat, presumably implies that they were thought to be in a language related to the Middle Persian language. Rouben Abrahamian however found a close affinity with the dialect spoken at the present time by the Jews of Hamadan." According to The Cambridge History of Iran, Baba Tahir spoke a certain Persian dialect.

Search Add 3 Rose Land Eric Apollinari RoseLand, a one-man band from Annecy, in the french Alps, was born in 2005 with an eponymous home-made debut album. The first official album "Maladivine" was self-produced in late 2007. Thanks to the Myspace network, Maladivine drew the attention of various reviewers from webzines and fanzines (Obsküre, Brokendolls, Sentinels of Time, Mick Mercer Live Journal...). "Au Mont des Soupirs", released in early 2011, is a 14-track voyage within imaginary landscapes, personal dreams, melancholic memories... Produced by the french label Frozen Wing records, this album kept drawing attention of reviewers : it was selected among the top-thirty albums in 2011 by the english famous author and radio animator Mick Mercer, reviewed by the US website Heathen Harvest (rating 5/5) and in quite a few magazines and webzines in France, Europe and further. After two appearances in french compilations (in particular "D'Eux" from Fatal Object), a new album, "La Vie est Ailleurs", is released in spring 2015. This self-produced album has again received favorable reviews and interviews, especially from the well-known Obsküre magazine, the main french reference in dark music and culture (rating 76 % and selected as "independent of the trimester" in september 2015). The project name became in 2015 'RoseLand' in one word... Just a few quotes.. From the german website Naturmacht about RoseLand : "Dreamy and melancholic music from another world. RoseLand makes us explore wonderful landscapes created of piano parts, synths, strings and whispers. A journey beyond the eternal horizon..." From Heathen Harvest american website: "Imagine a vast world...sweeping vistas, misty mountains, and the view through a lens of perfected mind's eye. The sun greets the clouds of days long past, blending the darkness and light as one entity. True time has no hold here, for all is timeless. Close your eyes and see the days, the months, the years. See them in the eye of the mountains, see them in all their ageless allure. Now, put a soundtrack to your visions. Better yet, let Rose Land do it. It has been a long time since an album has affected me as such. I simply closed my eyes and tried to take all the beauty in at once. I couldn't" From Mick Mercer's Live Journal: "Rose Land's music is just sensitive beauty. Modest magnificence !" From the french magazine Obsküre "La Vie est Ailleurs, dont les intimes échos font quitter le temps" "Peu de choses et l'irradiation du beau..."

You don't need to know here who you're naming to recognize yourself in Eliogabal's communicative tumult, it's actually more a question of invoking the present than of evoking the past. Through collective creation and experimentation, this "free rock" band defends a music as free as written and invites us into its universe, sometimes contemplative, other times disconcerting, structured by themes winding between calm and frenzy.

She was the 2nd female singer of the German Eurodance act [a=Captain Jack] from 1998 until 2000. After taking a break from the record music scene, she returned in 2006 with the German DJ act [a=Shaun Baker]. She not only sings, but also plays the keyboards and drums, dances, and is a composer and songwriter. She comes from a family of musicians. Her dad, Efren Lozañes, is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who travelled the world most of the time, and one of her brothers Antonio Lozañes, is a keyboardist. Maloy had never dreamt of a singing career, even if she took part to singing contests with her brother. She was almost always in the hospital due to her asthma, which did not prevent her from doing good studies. It wasn't until before she finished High School that she thought of pursuing a singing career. She was a member of the showband XPO and toured the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. Her father, who had been living in Germany since the late 1970s with an all-Filipino funk & soul band called Please, decided to get her and her brother, Tony, to join him in 1993. She did some backing vocals on the project Le Click's album, and contributed to ToyBox Love To The Limit. In 1999, whe became Captain Jack's new female singer.

Search Add 3 MOTHERBIRTH On the surface, Motherbirth is loud, abrasive, vulgar, and chaotic. But all of this is held together with aggressive riffing, tight chops, and bottom heavy melodies, resulting in a tight unit of relentless energy. Gordon Bolles provides the grinding six string work, supported by Dragan Stojkovski's pounding, punchy bass lines. Jake Samulski's precise drumming somehow keeps all of this mayhem in order. Overhead, Bryan Musial's vocals drift in compassionate melody, then take a nose-dive with razor claws aimed right for your throat. The band recorded and released their debut EP in January of 1996 and watched as the first print of 400 sold out almost instantly. One year later they recorded their first full length album which hugely surpassed sales of their EP. Soon after, having the opportunity to open for such national acts as Coal Chamber, Pro-Pain, Crisis, and Voivod. They have taken the hardcore genre and renovated it. Motherbirth packs Buffalo venues, where they find swarms of educated fans waiting for them at the front, and sometimes upon the vibrating stage. Members of the audience match Musial word for word as he preaches his heart during tunes like, "Fade Away" and "Downtime." Not only is Motherbirth's music superb, their stage presence and image are truly enthralling. The guys are highly active, as they bounce all over the stage while never missing a note. It wouldn't be fair to say they dress to the image of their musical genre, they live it. They're a charismatic, musically honest, down to earth bunch of guys. The group formed and began writing in early 1994 and, after the addition of Musial on vocals in 1995, has grown like a weed in terms of popularity and musical prowess.

Search Add 3 Oriana Maria Anamaria Valle Sometime after the end of her marriage and musical partnership with Marcos Valle, Anamaria Valle moved back to Brazil. In the beginning of 1970's, her musical taste had change, and she was no longer interested in the kind of music she did with Valle, Sérgio Mendes & Brasil '65, and Walter Wanderly Set. For instance, a report of the newspaper Correio da Manhã (Rio de Janeiro) from April 14, 1970, says that she would return in September that year to the United States, in order to sing for Blood, Sweat & Tears during a tour across American universities. During 1972 and 1973, still using Anamaria Valle as her artistic name, she sung for Rock Ebó, a band in the same vein of Novos Baianos that included Perinho Santana (later a member of “A Cor do Som”, which also backed artists such as Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Tim Maia, Doces Bárbaros, Gal Costa, Marisa Monte, and Jards Macalé) on guitars, Luciano on bass, Paulinho Camafeu on percussion and Carleba (the original drummer for “Os Panteras”, the backing band of Raul Seixas in the early days of his carrer) on drums. It was her first psychedelic rock band. After Rock Ebó ended in 1973, she decided to relaunch her musical career as “Oriana Maria”. Between September, 1973, and June, 1974, she travelled to Argentina, in order to record songs and to offer them to Record Companies. In those record sections, she was helped by Billy Bond and the musicians of “La Pesada”. She even recorded a Portuguese version of Manal’s classic “Jugo de Tomate”. She pressed a very small quantity of 7” EPs with three songs of those sections, titled Arembip I (allusive to the hippie community of Arembepe, located in Bahia, Brazil, where she lived). In October, 1974, a short story about her career moment was published on the Brazilian magazine “O Cruzeiro”. Although every effort was made to sign a contract with a Record Company, she did not make it. Still in 1978, it was possible to find reports on newspapers about her concerts under the alias of Oriana Maria.
