Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Scald Process Scald Process is a collaboration project between Stormfield (Fausten / Combat Recordings) and various live instrumentalists and vocalists including Luxul, Liam Noonan, Eden Grey, Joe Zeitlin, Marco Donnarumma and Mar Del Corral. Informed equally by Autechre, Basinski and Scorn, the project was borne out of dark rooms and fucked up sounds, pushing the extremes of harmonic noise but with a solid soundsystem discipline, combining string abuse, improvisation and distortion with gigantic subs and abstract technoid beat structures. The project began with Aimee Mullen and Marco Donnarumma in 2014 as Sea of Scald (later shorted to Scald) with tracks featured on Rinse FM and a couple of releases on Section 27 and Loose Lips. This evolved into Scald Process in Autumn 2016, combining a wider range of instruments like viola, violin, piano and vocals with evolving electronic techniques, and quickly snowballed into a load of new material.

Search Add 2 Maulwerker The Maulwerker (often appears as Die Maulwerker, please use ANV for that) is a vocal ensemble and collective of composers, music performers and theater makers, founded in 1977. They've been active in subsequent years with a changing array of members: 1977-1988, 1989-2001 and current group, working since 2001. Members of the ensemble came from diverse artistic backgrounds such as singing, composition, performance, intermedia arts, instrumental music, acting and directing. They work at the intersection of music, space, sound and silence with theater and language. The ensemble premiered Schnebel's most important works for music theater, created either during the rehearsal process with the Maulwerker or composed specifically for the group, like Schau-Stücke and the Kafka-Dramolette. Schnebel's fundamental work of modern vocal music, the open score Maulwerke, has been realized by the ensemble in a variety of versions and on different stages. In addition to the classics of new vocal music and experimental music theater, the Maulwerker repertoire focuses on more recent trends through active collaboration with composers, radio dramatists, sound artists and directors. Besides their activities in the ensemble, each artist is also active as a soloist, and the group often realizes works by individual members. Search Add 2 Atomik Destruktor Atomik Destruktor was formed in May 2007. It all started when Turtle, Gibson and Jota, three friends in high school, decided to start a thrash metal band. At the same time Turtle asked his long time friend Pedraça to join the band. With an enormous urge to play old school thrash metal, influenced by great 80s bands such as Destruction, Sodom, Kreator, Metallica, Slayer, Exodus, etc, they started thrashing with Turtle on bass and vocals, Gibson and Pedraça on guitars and Jota on drums. In October of that year, Turtle left the band. That’s when Marco joined the band in to play bass and Paulo Thrasher took over the vocals. Months later, Paulo left the band and Turtle returned as the vocalist. Thus the definitive lineup of Atomik Destruktor was formed, five friends with rage for thrash and rock n’ roll who still to this day have a good time getting high and drunk together. Right from the start they compose original, aggressive and violent music dealing with themes such as thrash and getting wasted, along with social issues, such as war and dissent. In 2008 they played their first concerts. Later that year, they recorded a demo that came out in 2009, entitled “Destroy, Disagree & Disrespect.” The album had 4 songs in K7 format, and was distributed by Luci Dist. Prod. A few months later the demo was released as a CD by Thai label Roots Active Productions. At that time, they were performing in Portugal and composing new songs loaded with aggressiveness, hostility and protest. After some delays, they started recording their first LP in 2011, at Grave Studios and still performing live. The recording took longer than expected due to some setbacks but finally, in early 2015, they will release an album entitled “Unnatural Disorder” with 8 songs that are pure thrash, under the label Helldprod. Their destruction, intoxication and appetite for thrashing continue.

Search Add 2 The Entertains The Entertains were a vocal group from Cleveland Ohio whose line up at different times varied between four to five members. Initially signed to Belkin Productions in Cleveland the group were persuaded by Nick Holiday to move to his Pittsburgh Steel Town Records Label. The group had already been working on two songs penned by C-Way Productions Richard Calloway who had strong links with Cleveland through his work with Jesse Fisher and Lester Johnson at Way Out Records. The two songs in question being “Love Will Turn It Around” and Why Couldn’t I Believe Them”, demo cuts of both songs where touted around to several major labels with 20th Century showing some serious interest, but the owner reputedly turned down 20th Century’s advances and instead chose to release the songs on his own Steel Town Label. Recorded at Jerree’s Studio in New Brighton P.A with the musical arrangements being provided by Don Groton, The Entertains 45 received limited local airplay reputedly due in part to Holiday’s refusal to provide a set of Dining Room furniture for an influential local radio promotion man. Greater radio play was eventually received with “Love Will Turn It Around” gaining air time on WANN, Annapolis Maryland’s largest Black radio station, courtesy of Disc-jockey Charles “Hoppy” Adams. For a time, a popular tune throughout Baltimore, Washington and Delaware without breaking out nationally. The Entertains line up on the Steel Town sessions where Donald Rice, Howard Rice (the cousin of Donald) Alfred Wilson and Andrew Wright the lead vocalist on all The Entertains songs. During 1978 Richard Calloway held a second recording session on The Entertains again at Jeree’s Studio’s which yielded a further two songs “I’ll Answer You With Love” and “Your Love I Give It Up” which due to lack of finance at the time of their conception remained in the can.
