Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Jedi Jet | After listening to avant-garde music from an early age, the path led Ivica Lazarević to become involved in music. Turntables, synthesizers and drum machines became his natural environment which had formed him as an artist. After a successful collaboration with Luka Cipek on various projects including "Luka&Lazo" they have made their alter ego "Jedi Jet". A few years ago, inspired by the love for the vinyl and playing live, he started a DJ career as DJ Lazo. Luka Cipek has been interested into various styles of music since the late 80s and started producing his own music in 1999. Having a productive DJ career as a student, he also worked at Radio Student in Zagreb and played many gigs around Croatia. In 2002 he started his first collaboration with Ivica Lazarevieć, which soon delivered the acclaimed "Fat Mama Roks EP" on Mo's Ferry. His musical interests span from rock to techno and from OST to modern compositors. His deep love of the 80s sound and early house production stay present in all his works.

They were members of the notorious Oomp Camp. Major Bank released only one album in 1996 through Big Oomp Records, entitled "Life After Death". It's a Down South classic & one of the best album to come out of ATL. Timeless release & a the perfect example of how dope could be the crunk sound of ATL in the 90's Beside some scarce appearances, the trio vanished soon after the release of their album. Loko put out a solo album in 1999 still on Big Oomp Records. MC Assault appeared on various releases on his label. Don't know what Starvin Marv became...

Search | Add | 4 | Robin Greenstein | Robin is a singer-songwriter from NYC whose music is a mix of folk, pop, rock, blues, country and jazz. She calls her music "Acousticness." Imagine a female James Taylor; strong finger-picking, rootsy songs with sophisticated pop influences. Stong soulful singing and memorable original songs make a lasting impact on her audiences. Her songs have been recorded on Fast Folk and Atlantic Records. She was picked for a finalist spot at the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival Songwriting competition (1989) in Texas on her very first application. Robin was also signed to Bob Dylan's publishing company as a writer for two years. She has performed in over 44 states and several countries including The Dominican Republic, The Bahamas, China, Japan, Mexico, Germany, Switzerland, Holland and Denmark. She is a Club Med performing artist. Robin performed extensively for college audiences across the U.S.for two decades in addition to playing at various folk venues. Her first album "SLOW BURN" was released initially as an independent in 1989. It was subsequently picked up for release in Europe by Swiss label BRAMBUS Records in 1992 and received rave reviews. Robin did her first European tour in 1994 and has part of every summer for the rest of that decade touring Europe, especially Denmark. In 1997 Band Together Records re-released SLOW BURN on CD in the USA. Robin's second CD "Acousticness" was released in 2000. Her third CD "Images of Women", released in 2002, was the first in a series of volumes which explore traditional folk and blues songs about women. Vol. 2 was released in 2010 and made the Grammys first ballot for traditional Folk Album of the Year. At the end of 2010, Robin released "Songs of the Season", a CD featuring music from an annual show she performed with Long Island musician Cecilia Kirtland. Robin has won music competitions at the Riverbank/Walden Radio Folk Festival and the NJ Folk Festival, South Florida Folk Festival and others. She's showcased at both the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival the NJ Folk Festival, The Napa Folk Festival and many Folk Alliance Conferences. But her favorite gig all time was singing the national anthem at Madison Square Garden in NYC for her beloved New York Knicks! Robin plays both guitar and banjo. Her superb musicianship, powerful songs, strong singing and relaxed performing style win over audiences everywhere. She majored in Music at SUNY-Stony Brook with a concentration in Classical Guitar). Describing her music as "Acousticness", Robin mixes many styles of music - folk, pop, rock, jazz and blues- in an acoustic base. In a show, you might hear a jazz standard, a blues song, or a instrumental banjo dance tune scattered among her original compositions. Her music has the musical sophistication of James Taylor with the lyrical sensitivity of Joni Mitchell, and strong vocals like Linda Ronstadt or blues-influenced like Bonnie Raitt. Robin does a concert-lecture entitled "Images of Women," a look at women's lives thru traditional Anglo and Afro-American folk songs, as well as family and children's programs (see "Other Shows"). She is eligible for Meet The Composer grants as well as BOCES. She was a performer-clinician for Martin Guitars and teaches privately in the New York City area when she's not on the road (lessons in guitar, banjo, uke and voice).

Search | Add | 4 | Dynamic Deadbeats Bands | From the ashes of Southside Richmond, USA, a teen outfit. The Deadbeats stayed true to their garage roots, but took things in a decidedly more soulful direction. In '66 the lads hit the notoriously low-fi Richmond Sound Stages at 2314 W. Cary Street to bang out their first record, self-released on the Greenedeem label. The ensuing year and a half after this first release saw the band (many of whose members were still in high school) continue to mature, ditching the stage make up and honing its sound. The Deadbeats cut two more singles, both of which had the same pairing: "No Second Chance" b/w "Why Did You". The first recording of these songs was another characteristically muddy Richmond Sound Stages production with an extremely small press run (possibly 100). Think of it as a rough draft for what was about to come. In mid '67 the band traveled up to Philadelphia to re-cut both tracks in an real recording studio. The result, released on the Strata label, is a perfectly realized two sided Garage-Soul stomper. Unfortunately, that didn't stop the record from quickly sinking into obscurity during "The Summer of Love".

Search | Add | 4 | The Bill Elliot Swing Orchestra | The BILL ELLIOTT SWING ORCHESTRA, fifteen musicians and four singers strong, plays exciting swing music in the styles of the '30s, '40s, and '50s, with a twist: much of the band's repertoire has been written in the '90s and 2000 by leader Bill Elliott, a composer and arranger whose songs have been prominently featured in many feature films and TV shows, including the recent HBO film INTRODUCING DOROTHY DANDRIDGE and the current Disney Channel film ALLEY CATS STRIKE. Elliott began his career as a rock'n'roll piano player, touring and recording with such artists as Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks, and many others, before finding his calling as a swingmeister while writing and arranging songs for the 1989 film DICK TRACY. The Swing Orchestra, formed in 1993, was an outgrowth of Elliott's continuing success in writing original, vintage-sounding swing music for film, television, and commercials. He has assembled many of L.A.'s hottest musicians for his mission of recreating the authentic fire and style of big bands at their peak in the late '30s. The band also features BILL'S LUCKY STARS, a vocal quartet who sing in the close-harmony style of the Pied Pipers and the Modernaires, and glamorous lead singer Cassie Miller in featured solos as well. Playing a dominant role in southern California's current swing revival, Elliott's band is a favorite among the young jitterbug and Lindy Hop dancers whose vibrant new counterculture has been growing rapidly. Elliott's music is in the style of the great swing bands of the late '30s and early '40s - as hard-swinging as they come, with an emphasis on colorful arrangements, sophisticated and light-hearted lyrics, and danceability. The BESO has repeatedly drawn crowds of over 1100 dancers at the Hollywood Palladium and the Satin Ballroom in Los Angeles. The band has appeared often at Merv Griffin's Coconut Club in Beverly Hills, and has played to large crowds at the Avalon Casino Ballroom on Catalina Island and at ballrooms in San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland, OR. In July '99 the BESO made its first east coast appearances, headlining at Lincoln Center Midsummer Night Swing in Manhattan, the Mann Center for Performing Arts in Philadelphia, and at swing dance events in Boston and Washington, DC. The band is also in demand for private and corporate events, and its resume includes Emmy Award balls, the Jonathan Club Centennial, America's Cup Ball, Junior Philharmonic Ball, and parties for most of the major Hollywood studios. The band's three CDs, SWING FEVER, CALLING ALL JITTERBUGS!, and SWINGIN' THE CENTURY, have made the band well-known at swing clubs and dances from Seattle to London, and also receive enthusiastic airplay on jazz and swing radio programs around the world. Elliott's arrangements and his band's recordings were featured both in the HBO film and the RCA soundtrack album for INTRODUCING DOROTHY DANDRIDGE, and on John Lithgow's Sony-Wonder CD SINGING IN THE BATHTUB. Elliott's association with Mr. Lithgow also resulted in the recent Carnegie Hall premiere of a fifteen-minute piece for symphony orchestra, THE REMARKABLE FARKLE MCBRIDE, composed by Elliott as a setting of Lithgow's children's story which was released as a book by Simon & Shuster in the fall of 2000. Elliott's career as a bandleader complements his activities in film and television. He and the band recently recorded both the orchestral score and the big band music for the Disney Channel film ALLEY CATS STRIKE which began airing in March 2000, and he has used his band as the core of a large orchestra when arranging the songs for Disney's sequels to ALADDIN, THE RETURN OF JAFAR and ALADDIN AND THE KING OF THIEVES, which make use of his distinctive swing style. Four of Elliott's songs appeared in the Oliver Stone film NIXON, and eight of his songs are in the film KILLER starring James Woods. Elliott's swing music also appears in the films CONTACT, INDEPENDENCE DAY, Disney's remake of THAT DARN CAT, and the animated feature CATS DON'T DANCE. Bill and the band appeared as themselves (in 1939!) in the Disney TV movie TOWER OF TERROR. Bill also used his band in composing music for episodes of the TV shows ELLEN and DREW CAREY. Besides playing the original music of its leader, the band performs authentic arrangements from the golden years of swing, including music by Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Cab Calloway, Benny Goodman, Bunny Berigan, Jimmie Lunceford, Chick Webb, and Duke Ellington. Such classics as "King Porter Stomp", "Atchison, Topeka, and the Santa Fe", "Carioca", "Blues In The Night", and many others come to life with a suave polish and authentic style that no other contemporary band can match. The Bill Elliott Swing Orchestra seems to have leaped out of a time machine, and performs with all the excitement, sophistication, and enthusiasm of the best bands of the first swing era.
Search | Add | 4 | Jean-Claude Gallotta | French Dancer And Choreographer Jean-Claude Gallotta Following a lengthy stay in New York at the end of the 1970s, during which he met Merce Cunningham and discovered the world of post-modern dance (Yvonne Rainer, Lucinda Childs, Trisha Brown...), Jean-Claude Gallotta returned to Grenoble and, with Mathilde Altaraz, founded the Groupe Émile Dubois, which in 1981 took up residence in the Maison de la Culture de Grenoble (House of Culture). In 1984 it was named a National Choreographic Center, one of the first of its kind in France. With his first ballet, Ulysse, in 1981, his international reputation was assured. Other works followed, including Daphnis é Chloé (1982), Hommage à Yves P. (1983), Mammame (1985), Docteur Labus (1988), Presque Don Quichotte (1999), and Trois générations (2004). Between 1997 and 1999, he directed a Japanese dance company in Shizuoka, Japan. Over the years his choreographic creations – over 90 to date – widened to embrace other arts: cinema (he has two feature-length films to his credit), video, literature (les Larmes de Marco Polo (2000), l’Etranger (The Outsider, 2015) and Comme un trio (Like A Trio, 2018), based on Françoise Sagan’s novel Bonjour Tristesse), classical music – (Bach danse experience (2008), l’Amour sorcier (2013), working with the stage director Jacques Osinski and the orchestra conductor Marc Minkowski; and le Sacre et ses révolutions (2015) performed at the Paris Philharmonia); original music – working with composers such as Henri Torgue, Serge Houppin and Strigall; and even pop music, thereby expanding the frontiers of contemporary dance deemed somewhat elitist. In the pop music register, working with the singer Olivia Ruiz, he created Volver, presented at the Biennale of Dance in Lyon in 2016. His additional work in the genre includes his triptych My Rock (2004), l’Homme à tête de chou (Cabbage Head Man , 2009 reprised in 2019), and My Ladies Rock (2017). The French Ministry of Culture has recognized the Groupe Émile Dubois as a dance company with national and international impact. The company is now resident at the MC2: Grenoble. Jean-Claude Gallotta is also an associate author at the Théâtre du Rond-Point in Paris. He is currently working on his latest creation, Le Jour se rêve (The day dawns, the day dreams) which will be created in the fall 2020. For this project he collaborate with musician and composer Rodolphe Burger and visual artist Dominique Gonzales Foerster.

Search | Add | 4 | The New Kinetics | Garage rock band from San Diego, California, formed in October 2010 by singer Birdy Bardot (real name Emily Reilly) and her husband, guitarist/keyboardist Brian Reilly, with drummer Jon Bonser and bassist Leslie Schultze. They self-released their debut EP Rock & Roll Has Got To Go that November, then signed to Aural Gravy Records for their first full-length album, Contact, released on CD and digital in September 2011. They wanted to release their next album on vinyl, but Aural Gravy was unwilling to pay for the expense, so the band ran a Kickstarter campaign and raised $5,000 to record in San Francisco with producer [a=John Vanderslice] and release the LP themselves. In Stereo was released in December 2012 on the band's own imprint, Anobel Records. Schultze departed the band in April 2013 to focus on her new project, [a=Flaggs], and was replaced by Josh Kmak. TNK broke up that June due to the Reillys' plans to move back to the East Coast, but plans changed and the band regrouped in early 2014 and recorded an EP, Red, which went unreleased. They announced their impending breakup in October 2016, and played their farewell show two months later on New Years Eve. The Red EP was released to streaming services in June of 2021.
