Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 18 | Hex Kommando | HEX KOM aka Hex Kommando | Hex Kommando (also HEX KOM) is an obscure lo-fi experimental ritual industrial & synthpop/coldwave project by Noise Nazi. It began a few weeks after the passing of NN's mother. And became an avenue for total experimentation in genres that were new & challenging (although NN had been a fan of these genres for a long time), while reigning with total self expression & madness. It combines influences from synthpop, darkwave, new wave, coldwave, goth rock, industrial, avant garde, minimal wave, electro and even disco/Hi-NRG! Every demo/album pulls elements from these genres. Along with noise & power electronics. Some albums & tracks are recorded on the spot (improvised) and are intentionally sloppy, disorganized & often have recording mistakes left in the songs themselves. This entire project was an experimental journey for Noise Nazi, learning to play different synths and keys and attempting to create something different, other than simply noise music. The first few songs and demos by HK were intentionally disorganized, lo-fi, obscure quality and with indiscernible vocals. The original intent was to embody the audio form of a dextromethorphan trip. While later on the project moved towards more organized, cleaner produced synth wave & experimental music. While some EP's and later demos also became dark ritual industrial music. Although Hex Kom retained some of it's indiscernible vocals style as to not Hex listeners with words or repeated choruses. The lyrics are secret & some tracks have discernible vocals when they are meant to invoke an emotion, spirit or incantation. |

Search | Add | 18 | Francesco Bande | FRANCESCO BANDE (Accordionist, diatonic accordion - melodeon player, singer) (Fisarmonicista, organettista, cantante) Born Bultei, 19 March 1930 - Died Bultei 1988. Francesco Bande began playing the melodeon (diatonic accordion) at a very young age, following in the footsteps of his father, also a melodeon player; so this newly inherited passion quickly and profoundly becomes the greatest passion of his life. Constantly dedicated to the culture and music of Sardinia, Francesco Bande, virtuoso of the melodeon and accordion, has been a serious and tireless popularizer of Sardinian traditions, on the island and throughout the world. Always with the same passion and the same intensity, the same ability to involve and drag the spectator, Francesco Bande played and sang in the great popular festivals of Sardinia but also in minor village festivals, weddings and large audiences in Europe and the 'America. Francesco Bande, who was also the author and composer of original music and arrangements, represented Sardinia in numerous events nationally and internationally, gaining huge popularity in the 1960s. Also noteworthy is his artistic production, recorded on records, like some traditional Sardinian music. Among them: "Sa logudoresa seria", "Su passu torradu", "Sa danza de Bultei" and "Cavalcata sarda". In the last years of his life - he died at the age of 58 in his country of origin, Bultei- was involved in the realization of a great project: a cultural circle, which was to be a meeting place for Sardinian artists and musicians , in love with the history and traditions of their land. Unfortunately he did not have time to see this idea materialized; however, it almost became a spiritual testament. His wife, Bastianina Mannu, and his daughter Inoria will give life to the Circolo imagined by Francesco Bande, which obviously was dedicated to him. The Circle then also became a Museum, today rightly considered a precious point of reference, fundamental for the history, culture and popular traditions of Sardinia, in particular the musical ones. Although it seems far-fetched, this technology reminded me of my favorite movie "Metropolis" by Fritz Lang from 1927 where the shape of a woman is transferred to a machine-man ("Maria's Transformation"). I was more than inspired and in 2016 I started to produce Vocaloid songs with the goal to transfer this new possibilities to other genres of music than the mainstream. |
Search | Add | 18 | John Henry Amers | Flight Lieutenant John Henry Amers (1866-1946) was conductor of the RAF Band from 1920 to 1931 and older brother of Captain [a2819835] He joined The Band Of The 16th Lancers at the age of 16, he served with this regiment and later the 2nd Life Guards where he entered Kneller Hall as a student bandmaster. In 1901 he was appointed bandmaster of the 2nd Battalion Devonshire Regiment; in 1914 he became bandmaster of the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst and in 1918, he transferred to the Royal Air Force. He then served at Blandford, Hastings and Shorncliffe before travelling to France to take charge of No. 1 A.S.D (No.1 (Northern) Aircraft Supply Depot) Orchestra and concert party. He toured with them through France, Belgium and Germany, before returning to the School of Music. He was granted a permanent commission (from Stores Branch) as a Director Of Music and Flying Officer, retaining his seniority on 20th Nov 1920. In 1922 Amers secured the first of many recording contracts for the Central band. It was for the Columbia Gramophone Company and on 24th May the musicians were spread around the recording studio all facing a single central microphone. With no possibility of editing, the slightest mistake or technical hitch meant a fresh start, but the severe time limits of the early records enabled the session to finish within the day.

Search | Add | 18 | Kent Bowman | Kent Hamilton Bowman | Born on September 2, 1923 in Hilo on the Big Island of Hawai'i, Bowman was, according to the "No Talk Stink" liner notes, an ethnic blend of French, Hawaiian, Scottish, and English. He was a graduate of 'Iolani High School and enrolled in the military during World War II. Upon returning, he worked with some of the top businesses in Honolulu and earned such roles as vice president and general manager, roles that he would keep until he retired in 1990. For fun, he used his comedic talents over the radio airwaves with Hula Records' founder Don McDiarmid, Jr., which lead to him developing routines and re-interpreting popular nursery rhymes into the Hawaiian "pigdin English" dialect. While he stopped making recordings after 1969, he would continue to do public performances using the characters he brought to his records, all while maintaining his proper day jobs. He did make one last recording in 1998, reviving his old K.K. Ka'umania character, his first and only album recorded digitally. After retirement, he and his family moved to Las Vegas. He died there on December 20, 2007 at the age of 84. |

Nevertheless, this did not prevent him from touring Europe as a member of the Düsseldorf punk rock band PUBLIC TOYS for almost ten years from 1991 onwards and releasing various records. However, after the band's break-up in spring 2000, he never touched his instrument again. Instead, Thiel devoted himself to the backstage organisational skills he had acquired with the Public Toys and began a six-month internship at a music label in mid-1999. The six months eventually turned into 13 years at [l34268] / [l2345], during which Thiel worked in varying positions as promotion manager, field marketing manager and new media director with bands such as Slipknot, Nickelback, Slash, Machine Head, Type O Negative, The 69 Eyes, Moloko, Lenny Kravitz, Kiss, Killswitch Engage, Dresden Dolls & Amanda Palmer, etc. This was followed by engagements as Product Manager at ROTC Musikverlag, as Digital Marketing Director at the promotion & marketing agency Black Mob and as Label Manager at Century Media Records. In between, Roman Thiel founded the label DRUMMING MONKEY RECORDS in 2007 together with Mary Ritchie and Toten Hosen drummer Vom Ritchie, who had often shared the stage and the common rehearsal room on Ronsdorfer Straße in earlier years. The friendship still exists today, Drumming Monkey no longer since October 2020. With his label HINTERHOF PRODUKTIONEN, newly founded in 2020, Roman Thiel will manage the "legacy of the monkey stable" and offer new artists a creative home. As well as continuing to expand his collaboration with bands such as THE BACKYARD BAND and CASINO BLACKOUT, for whom Thiel also acts as management.

Search | Add | 18 | Stagecoach Productions, Inc. | Production company founded by [a476910]. Despite the fact that the [a476910] name had become nearly synonymous with that of [l1723], the trio sued label founder [a229467] in 1967 for withholding royalties and profits. HDH left the Motown stable shortly afterward, but it wouldn’t be until 1969 that their own labels would be up and running: [l34533] (distributed by major label Capitol Records) and [l69230] (distributed by prominent indie Buddah Records). A third, the short-lived, independently-distributed [l72529], would be created in 1972. Due to the ongoing litigation between HDH and Motown, the trio was contractually forbidden to use their own names on their early releases. Production was often credited to “[l621298]” (“A Stagecoach Production”) or “[a2081982]”, while “[a719651]” was HDH’s collective songwriting pseudonym (usually credited alongside [a76877], a fellow writer/producer).

Search | Add | 18 | Steven Fargnoli | Steven Joseph Fargnoli | Steven Fargnoli (28 August 1949, Newport, Rhode Island — 14 September 2001, Los Angeles, California) was an American artist manager and video/film producer best known as [a=Prince]'s manager in the first decade of his career. Fargnoli represented numerous other prominent acts, such as [a=Sinéad O'Connor] and [a=Godsmack], and served as a director and manager of his London-based label, [l=Red Dot Records] (from 1992 to '96). In February 1992, Fargnoli was nominated for "Best Long Form Music Video" at the 34th Grammy Awards for producing O'Connor's [m=502022] concert film. Fargnoli had worked as a booking agent since the early 1970s before he was hired by the [a=Cavallo-Ruffalo Management], a reputable firm founded by [a=Bob Cavallo], a future Chairman of Disney's [l=Hollywood Records], and Joe Ruffalo, which handled such high-caliber bands as [a=Earth, Wind & Fire], [a=Weather Report], and [a=Little Feat]. In early 1979, following the release of [a=Prince]'s debut album [m=22011], his label [l=Warner Bros. Records] signed Cavallo-Ruffalo as a new management team. Steve Fargnoli supervised the contract as a senior employee. In the following decade, Fargnoli contributed to all [a=Prince] studio albums between [m=22513] (1979) and [m=52497] (87), managed 1999 Tour, Purple Rain Tour, and Lovesexy Tour, and several music videos, including [m=268038] '88 concert film. Steven also worked on a few [l=Paisley Park] releases by Prince's proteges, such as [a=Sheila E.]'s [m=22729] (1985), self-titled albums by [a=Jill Jones] and [a=Taja Sevelle] in 1987, and [m=174819] (88) by [a=Dale Bozzio]. Steven became crucial to the Prince's ascend to international superstardom, subsequently promoted to a name partner in the firm, which rebranded as [a=Cavallo, Ruffalo & Fargnoli] in March 1986. Besides managing Prince's musical endeavors, Steve Fargnoli played a significant role in producing his debut Hollywood blockbuster [m=388665] which premiered in July 1984. The follow-up [m=268031] in 1986 — apparently, produced against Fargnoli's advice — became a box-office flop and earned Steven and his partners Razzie "anti-award" and a nomination for the year's Worst Movie. In January 1989, [a=Prince] abruptly fired his management team and appointed [a=Albert Magnoli], Purple Rain writer-director with no prior experience in artist management, as Fargnoli's replacement. Despite the initial press statements on the amicable separation, Steven and [a=Prince] soon engaged in a legal battle. In December 1991, Fargnoli sued Prince for allegedly defaming him in the lyrics of "Jughead," one of the tracks on [m=97248], and demanded $5 mln in damages. [a=Prince] immediately countersued, claiming mismanagement and bad faith advice; they settled out-of-court. In November 1992, Steven Fargnoli filed yet another five-million lawsuit, this time against Prince's new law firm, [a3682546], which was shortly dismissed by the court. After parting ways with Cavallo-Ruffalo and dissolving CR&F in June 1992, Fargnoli opened a new management firm, Pure Acts Ltd., with offices in London and Los Angeles. He signed and managed several notable artists, including [a=Karl Wallinger]'s [a=World Party], [a=Sinéad O'Connor], [a=Donna Lewis], and rock/nu-metal band [a=Godsmack] (helping to shape their mainstream success alongside his managing partner [a=Arma Andon]). In the late 90s, Fargnoli reunited with Bob Cavallo and served as A&R Consultant for [l=Hollywood Records]. He passed away at 52 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Notable artists managed by Fargnoli [a=Sly & The Family Stone] [a=The Emotions] [a=Vanilla Fudge] [a=Roachford] [a=Ray Parker Jr.] [a=The J. Search | Add | 17 | Mike Albornoz | Miguel A. Albornoz Freile | Maik Albornoz optó por escribir su nombre tal y como se pronuncia.

Search | Add | 17 | Art Perko | Arthur J. Perko | Art Perko (1935 - 2008) was a leading talent of the new wave of young polka musicians who followed the Cleveland-Style legends of the 1950s. His most popular band line-up, featuring Billy Tomsick, Mike Dragas, Ray Sterle, and Roger DeBenedict, performed for 32 years. Cleveland's largely Slovenian St. Clair-Superior neighborhood was home to Art. He was considered one of the best boy sopranos in the St. Vitus school choir. He began accordion lessons at age six and led his first band at 13. Art and his band were frequent guests on the popular syndicated Polka Varieties television show in the 1960s and 1970s. The group was one of the first to record with the Delta International polka label. Art's four albums included many fan favorites, such as “Quick Stop Polka” and “Magic Trumpets.” He scored a pop hit with his bouncy “Peanuts Polka” in 1965. On Cleveland radio charts, "Peanuts" peaked at No. 9 the same week the Beatles’ “Ticket to Ride” was No. 1. After a ten-year break from music, Art formed a new band in 1998 and recorded an album, “Reunited.” In the 2000s, Art hosted Sunday night jam sessions in the Collinwood neighborhood at the 4-Rs Tavern. |

Search | Add | 17 | Sondra Williams | Sondra "Blinky" Williams (born May 21, 1944 in Oakland, California is an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter. She recorded the album Hark The Voice on Atlantic Records, then moved to Motown where she recorded (as "Blinky") five singles including her debut, the Ashford & Simpson penned single "I Wouldn't Change The Man He Is", (a song reportedly written about Lovin' Spoonful studio bass player James Killingsworth) in 1968, and thought she would find success when she recorded a duet album with Edwin Starr entitled Just We Two on the heels of his 25 Miles. However, they did not get the push that either the Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell or the Supremes-Temptations duets did, and success again eluded her when, after becoming a protégé of Sammy Davis, Jr., his deal with the label fell through. Blinky released two further singles for Motown in the early 1970s (on the company's California-based MoWest subsidiary) and has had several others scheduled for release but never actually released. She is also credited with singing the theme for the 1970s TV series Good Times, along with Jim Gilstrap. His version of "God Bless The Child" appears on the album Rock Gospel: The Key To The Kingdom and her recording of "'Tain't Nobody's Biz-ness if I Do" is on the soundtrack of Lady Sings The Blues, the Billie Holiday bio-pic starring Diana Ross. Unfortunately, most of her solo work, save for a few singles, remained until 2019 unreleased. She can be heard live on the Motortown Revue Live! CD. In addition, she was one of the original Cogic Singers, with Andraé Crouch, Sandra Crouch, Billy Preston, Edna Wright (lead singer of The Honey Cone), Frankie Karl, and Gloria Jones. Following her non-success with Motown, she returned to gospel music and resumed her given name. On October 31, 2009, Sondra appeared as a backup singer, along with Sharon Jones, performing The Rolling Stones' "Exile on Main Street" as part of the rock band Phish's musical costume at their Festival 8, which was held at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California from October 30, 2009 through November 1, 2009.
