Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Andrew Magro Andrew Magro Miggiani Andrew Magro Miggiani (aka A-MAG) has always shown strong interest in music since his early years. Way back when he was 5, started attending piano lessons which helped him develop his musical realm. Back in the day, alternative rock and metal were his day-to-day choice, though he quickly developed a particular interest in electronic music. Discovered house and techno at the early teenage years which instantly awakened his inner self. Kept developing his interest and shaping his musical perspective within those genres. Although his piano days were over at the age of 15, he moved over to DJing and electronic music production; though his gigs started at a later stage in his mid-20's. His past influences played an important role in developing his tastes in the various sub-genres of house and techno. His selection ranges from melodic styles to soulful, deep, dubby and spiritual.

Search Add 2 I Heart The Monster Hero I Heart The Monster Hero I Heart The Monster Hero are a magic band made from crystals, rams blood, holy candle wax and casio keyboard circuit boards. It consists of five human males that bang things and ring sounds from electricity by squeezing small strands of metal alloy. Most other humans react to these sounds by dancing & having a 'good time'. The music they make has been described as 'fuzzed-up swirl of pop-laminated psych punk.' A psychedelic experience is characterized by the perception of aspects of one's mind previously unknown, or by the creative exuberance of the mind liberated from its ostensibly ordinary fetters.

Search Add 2 MonThruSun Amsterdam-based Dutch band in the tradition of [a299733]. Lead singer Hans Bos of Soft Parade returns in March 2020 with a new album under the name the MonThruSun. After a creative collaboration with Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) that resulted in acclaimed albums ‘Pure’ and ‘Get Well Soon’, Soft Parade stopped in 1996. The 2020 new album was recorded in Amsterdam IJland and Americain Studios with drummer / producer Remko Schouten (Stephen Malkmus, Zzz, Bull), Tinca Veerman (vocals), Robin Berlijn (piano, guitar), Dick Brouwers and Eric Maas (bass), Leon van Egmond (trombone), violinists Antonio Pliz and Robert Uchida, Robijn Boekelmans (cello) and Imke Jansen on viola. The name MonThruSun came up when Hans Bos was thinking of a new open/closed sign on the art gallery door in Amsterdam. The passion for the gallery where artists like Sarah Maple, Ciou, Ray Caesar and Darara exhibit made him think, how would it be if our space was open from Monday all through to Sunday. Always open, always living, always breathing arts and music. That's where the name MonThruSun came from. The songs were intentionally written and recorded from 2015 and on and first brought out as low-fi songs under the name Speaker. It took 5 years to re-record, arrange and mix the songs with the musicians. Many recordings were done in the Americain Studio, under the Americain Hotel right in the center of Amsterdam. It is cynical that the studio had to close in 2020 when HardRock Cafe took over the hotel and started to build a fitness club instead. Nice to know. Former Soft Parade bass player Eric Maas joins on the opening song 'Moon' and Dick Brouwers, also a former Soft Parade member plays bass on the other songs. He used to play bass in known Dutch bands like 13, Daryll-Ann, Ellen ten Damme, Shine and Claw Boys Claw. Robin Berlijn plays guitar and known from the bands Fatal Flowers, Ellen ten Damme, Moke and Kane. Leon van Egmond is member of the band Straf. Tinca Veerman is known from Bingo Trappers and Mongrell. Notes The song 'Family, it's Our Blood', no.3 on the album has a key role in the feature film ‘Hemelrijken’ (dir. Stanley Kolk). Musical reference The music on the album resounds with artists like Adam Green, Spain, Pavement, The Velvet Underground, Tindersticks and the Beatles.

See more Home Town Cleveland Record Label RVGNOISE About Cleveland Outlaw Country Biography When Clevelanders think of old school outlaw country they think of… well Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, but almost immediately after that, they think of The Church of the Lazy Bastards, mainly since less travel is involved with getting to our shows and they are more reasonably priced. For the last decade, these greying pot-bellied lads have graced several stages at some of the more moderately priced bars, boozatoriums, wineries, restaurants, and front porches in the greater Cleveland area, bringing their own brand of musical distraction from the economic hard times and shit cold weather of our fair city. The musical evolution from backwoods bluegrass to outlaw country has been met with some fan fair and has led to the opportunity to play with such fan acts as, Shooter Jennings, David Allen Coe, Wayne “The Train” Hancock, Whitey Morgan, Grace Askew, Wanda Jackson, Lydia Loveless, and T-Model Ford to name just a few. So whether you are young or old, fat or skinny, faithful believer or a fallen sinner, there is always one church waiting with open arms and doors come on out and check out The Church of the Lazy Bastards.

Search Add 2 Kitten On Capitol Hill Kitten on Capitol Hill is a female fronted rock band based out of the Washington DC and Baltimore region. The band members on that EP were Eva Blackmer-Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitar, Jason Reigle-Lead Guitar/Bass, JR Cook-Drums/Backing Vocals, and Ed Stachyra-Bass on "Girl Unknown". The album was recorded and mastered by Kevin Johnston at Orca Sounds Studio in Baltimore, MD and is available on iTunes, CDbaby, and in traditional CD format. The single "Vienna" was Recorded and mastered by Kevin Johnston at Orca Sounds Studio in Baltimore, MD. The members on the single "Vienna" were Eva Blackmer-Vocals/Rhythm Guitar, Jason Reigle-Lead Guitar, John Martinez-Drums, and Charles Schuricht-Bass.

Search Add 2 Sounding Bodies Dutch contemporary music trio, formed in the summer of 2016 by cellist [a=Jacqueline Hamelink]. Sounding Bodies began as a site-specific live performance project at an abandoned locomotive repair warehouse in Hamelink's hometown Tilburg. Inspired by the unique acoustic properties of the enormous space, Jacqueline invited pianist [a=Stevko Busch] and electric guitarist [a=Aart Strootman] for a one-off improvisational session. It was named Derelict after the depot's poor conditions; the building was scheduled for renovation as a cultural center. Subsequently, Sounding Bodies evolved in Jacqueline Hamelink's "solo" collaborative project, and she has organized several more projects with other musicians since then.

Search Add 2 ANTDUAN Antonio D ANTDUAN is an Israeli, Thailand-based electronic artist who first became interested in music back when he was eight years old. He particularly gravitated towards electronic music as he began composing and creating his own original tracks; merging aspects of Techno, Deep House, and various sub-genres to form his unique sound. To date ANTDUAN has nine Single/EPs released on his online discography: ‘Deep Forest’, ‘Moon Shadow’, ‘Do You Remember’, ‘Liquid Dream’, ‘Rain Drops’, ‘Mind Control’, ‘Perpetual (ANTDUAN Remix)’, ‘Coming to You’ and ‘Propaganda’. One of his most successful tracks, ‘Rain Drops’ (2020), amassed almost fifty-one thousand streams on Spotify alone. With all nine releases dropping since the beginning of this year, there’s no denying the fact that ANTDUAN is developing some serious momentum moving into the second half of 2020.
