Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 7 | The Better Way Quartet | Bluegrass Gospel Quartet Union County gospel group that started jamming about 1978, which included Jerry Cole, Sr., Bill Turner, Neal Walker, and Dannie Peters. Then they became known as Union Grass, a bluegrass and bluegrass gospel band. As Union Grass started singing southern gospel songs, their first singing engagement was at Oak Grove Church in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee. Nancy Cole came up with a new name for Union Grass, that would cover bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, southern gospel and country gospel. The new name was The Betterway Quartet. In 1982, Mull’s Gospel Show featuring Betterway played to a packed crowd at Horace Maynard High School at Maynardville, Tennessee, their home county. At this time, Shannon Walker became Betterway’s manager and their bookings greatly increased. They were performing at concerts with The Primitive Quartet, The Paynes, The Spencers, The Inspirations and The Cooks. They also performed regularly on WJBZ 96.3 that was Mull’s radio station. They performed on television in Indiana, Ohio and Bristol, Tennessee. They were also featured on Grant Turner’s Early Bird Show that aired at 5:45 a.m. Monday - Friday on WSM 650 AM radio station that was the home of the Grand Ole Opry on Friday and Saturday nights. They made videos with Eddie Crook Gospel Music Productions. They recorded albums, eight track tapes and later cassettes and CDs in Nashville. They performed at an Amish Festival in Pennsylvania along with The Primitive Quartet and others. Stuart Wyrick joined as singer, musician and bus driver around 1984 or 1985. The Betterway Quartet entertained for over 30 years. Here is a partial list of members of Betterway from 1978- 2014: Jerry Cole, Sr., Bill Turner, Neal Walker, Dannie Peters, Gale Lee, Stuart Wyrick, Shannon Walker- Manager, Paul Carter, Darrell Williams, Arnold Branton, Scott Payne, Vic Graves, Wade Brantley, Ronnie Kitts, Johnny Raley, Jonathan Brogan, Kenny Dryer, Jerry Cole, Jr., Savannah Cole Brogan (daughter of Jerry Cole, Sr.).D. Search | Add | 7 | Wasafiri | The jazz fusion group Wasafiri began with the memory of a feeling. Eastwood Music Group co-founders Luke Sardello and Skin Wade wanted to release a project that evoked the feelings they had when they first discovered the 70’s era fusion works of Herbie Hancock and Weather Report and Return to Forever. Upon linking with fellow Dallas native Max Gerl (bassist/composer), an alum of Berklee College of Music and Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing Arts, they knew they’d found someone to bring their concept to life. A well-studied musician/producer and mentee of jazz fusion bassist Stanley Clarke, Gerl understood the particular feeling Wade and Sardello sought to recreate.

Search | Add | 7 | Maxwell Street Klezmer Band | The Maxwell Street marketplace was to Chicago what the Lower East Side was to New York. At the turn of the century, when the first major wave of Russian Jewish immigrants settled in America, Chicago's Maxwell Street became famous for its open-air Sunday marketplace crowded with Jewish pushcart-peddlers--an institution which has survived in the hands of fresh waves of immigration. The band was named in tribute to the spirit of Chicago's early immigrants. In 1983, Lori Lippitz founded the Maxwell Street Klezmer Band. In the years since, Maxwell Street has become the Midwest's most popular klezmer band, touring numerous times in Europe and performing throughout the U.S. including Carnegie Hall. Audiences of all backgrounds are delighted by Maxwell Street's high-energy performances that glow with warmth and humor. Our Performances have been staged across America and Europe. In 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2007 and 2009, the band performed concerts across Europe including in Germany, London, Munich, Vienna, Amsterdam, Enschede and The Hague. In 1998, the band gave their debut performance at Carnegie Hall and at New York's Damrosch Park at Lincoln Center. Maxwell Street has appeared on the PBS program "World Stage Chicago" in 1995, and was featured again on Public Television's "Artbeat Chicago" in March 1999. One of their songs was featured in an episode of ABC's "Saving Grace." Maxwell Street has been featured annually on Network Chicago's (PBS) "Do It Yourself Hanukkah" television special. Maxwell Street received the "Best Jewish Album" Award in 2004 in the Independent Music Just Plain Folks Awards. The band has recorded five CDs. Their 2008 release, "Eight Nights of Joy", features Hanukkah music with singer-songwriter Rabbi Joe Black. For more information about the band call or write: Lori Lippitz, 4025 Harvard Terrace, Skokie, IL 60076. Phone: 847-675-4800 Fax: 847-675-4880 E-mail: maxwellst@aol.com

Search | Add | 7 | Peter Shambrook | Australian folk-pop singer Pete Shambrook failed to attract much attention in the United States, despite three impressive albums in the early 1990s. Almost nothing was ever written about him in the usual media, except a positive review of his album Love Unseen in CCM. Rick Elias produced his debut project, and Shambrook toured America as the opening act for Elias and headliner Margaret Becker. Love Unseen was produced by music veteran Paul Clark. It opens with what would become Shambrook's best-known song, a straighforward rock number called "I Believe in You." Love Unseen also includes a cover of Van Morrison's "Whenever God Shines His Light." Then Shambrook resurfaced with another album on the Maranatha! label at the end of the decade. By then, he was serving as college pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Newport Beach, California. Peter has also sung on a number of other Maranatha! projects, including those associated with Promise Keepers.

Search | Add | 7 | Gamma Men | Steve Gardner, Tom Gallego, Jim Grind, Don Simmons, Darrin Berlin, Dave Elizondo, Gary Meyer | The Gamma Men started in the spring of 1991. The band was more or less founded by Steve Gardner, who is probably best known as the editor of the fanzine Noise For Heroes, a magazine that ran from the early 80s until 1992 and covered punk, garage and power pop bands from around the world. Steve had previously played drums in the band Feeding Frenzy, which included a couple friends he worked with and his ex-wife on bass. Feeding Frenzy played a lot of punk rock standards as well as a whole batch of covers of late 80s Australian and European bands, and a fair number of their own songs. The band split up when Steve and his wife got divorced. After that, he tried out for a few bands but quickly decided that if he was going to be in a band that he was really going to like, he had better try to organize it himself rather than join something already going. more at URL |

Search | Add | 7 | Wind Fire | Progressive psychedelic trance duo project based in São Paulo , Brazil Wind Fire is a Progressive and Psytrance project created in September 2012 by duo 'Kromah' and 'Patrícia Leal', who live in São Paulo, Brazil. The duo tends to Progressive Trance, Psychedelic Progressive, Modern Progressive Trance and Progressive House. Innovation is the foundation of Wind Fire's work, its presentations are done in the LiveSet format, always joining a good mix with a variation of basslines containing a lot of groove and remarkable synths, thus making a good story. With over 12 years of experience as a dj player, Kromah has already gone through various national clubs and parties such as Pacha, Eazy, Clash, Club A, Privilege (Buzios), Mermaid, Hot Hot, Ice Club, Chameleon Resident), Eivissa, Club Nud at the Sirius parties, Summer Sessions,, Psy 4 Friends (Resident), World Oz Festival, Psyzone Festival, Trancendence, High Waterfall, among others. Over time, Kromah met Patricia and for the same affinities and musical tastes, they decided to form the project, which would become something that really made sense to their lives. They already have a considerable number of songs, being sold in all virtual stores of the world, by the labels Solid Recording, Ibiza Dance Music, InTrance, PanMusic. The time passed and with the evolution of their work, were invited in April 2015 by the label Plusquam Records one of the world's top seals create a new EP that will be called Evolution Continues, and thus joining great names such as Zyze, Hi Profile, Flegma, Liquid Sound, Fatali, Echoteck, Solaris Vibe, Sunstryk and others. Wind Fire was created by the meaning of 'Wind' as Wind being Patrícia Leal and 'Fire' as Fire being Kromah. These are elements that bring a symbology of greater energetic foundations to what the duo of artists believe. It is worth mentioning that the productions of the Wind Fire project are elaborated jointly by the duo and not only with the presence of a producer. Just as the Live presentation will be done only by the two components, not just by an artist!

Spiraloff then went on different paths, exploring different horizons with projects such as [anal]Og.sys, The Fauxhemians or Acridspleen. After a long hiatus (almost a decade), Spiraloff was reborn as an Amsterdam-based, two-men band at the end of 2012 and dropped a surprise new track for Xmas day '13 called 'As Long As It takes' for free on their Bandcamp. A new EP called "Born To Write Sad Songs" was released a few months later in February 2013 on NIDALI Records, and later that year the follow-up EP in the "Amsterdam EP's" trilogy "Lonely Ride 7'". The trilogy was completed early 2015 with the release of "Weathered In My Heart". This 4-track EP took almost 7 months to record and produce, and elaborates extensively on the topic on lost relationships. For Record Store Day '15, Spiraloff dropped a surprise new single called "Miles Apart", an experimental, 2-part piece of music opening new sonic horizons for the 2-headed band |

Search | Add | 7 | Grover Sales Jr. | Teacher and writer, credited for liner notes and photography. Born: 1920 in Louisville, KY Died: February 14, 2004 in Tiburon, CA During a career that spanned 50 years Sales wrote about jazz, film and cultural politics and published widely in the San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, the Tiburon Ark and Gene Lees' Jazzletter. He wrote three books: Jazz: America's Classical Music, a biography of John Maher and, with his wife Georgia, The Clay-Pot Cookbook, which sold more than 800,000 copies. Sales was also publicist for the Monterey Jazz Festival from its birth in 1958 until 1965, and for the hungry i nightclub. He also did freelance publicity work for artists such as Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Judy Garland and Dick Gregory, and wrote liner notes for several Fantasy recordings. Over the years, he taught jazz history courses at Stanford University, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, San Francisco State University and the JazzSchool. Sales became a jazz fan at 16, after hearing a broadcast of Benny Goodman's band with drummer Gene Krupa, and later became what he called "an inveterate Ellington groupie" after hearing a recording of "Black And Tan Fantasy". After serving in the Army Air Corps in Southeast Asia during World War II, Sales studied at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, and then settled in the Bay Area, where he received a BA in history from the University of California at Berkeley. At age 14, he moved to Kansas City and began his musical training with help from bass lessons from Claude "Fiddler" Williams. Formal training at UMKC's Conservatory of Music helped Alex refine his ability to play the bass and he was the first African-American bassist to play an electric bass in Kansas City through the Conservatory. He was a career musician living and working the rest of his life in Kansas City. He performed at local venues, regional and national blues and jazz festivals. He performed with the late Tommy Soul, Lester "Wizard" King, Albert Collins, B.B. King, Jerry Lee Lewis, Lawrence Wright and the Outlets, Leon Estelle, "Little-Joe" Robinson and Claude "Fiddler" Williams - just to name a few. His group The Turnpikes recorded a couple of sides in the late 1950's for the Central label, followed by more sides in the early 1960's for Spindle. There was a long gap of 15 years before recording a single for NMI in 1979 and another 15+ years before he entered the most productive era of recording, as a slew of full-length albums came out in in the 1990s and early 2000s. Littlejohn was inducted into the Elder Statesmen of Kansas City Jazz in 2002 along with former employer and life-long friend Richard "Dick" Berkley. |

Search | Add | 7 | DE3IVAT | DE3IVAT is one more brainchild of multmedia artists Mirco Dalos & Christoffer Grunau. After putting T3AFO to rest with a huge mass of audio samples, fragments, visuals and ideas flying around, there was hardly a thought of finishing. It's merely in the art of stopping and starting again that gave birth to DE3IVAT. Joy, fun and the idea of »let's see what happens« had to be the defined watchwords for bringing something to the table again. As multi-media location-based art involves many many people, budgets, negotiations and, yes, also frustrations at time, DE3IVAT is home-made, ever-fresh, like a child-play. So we assess all available data from the T3AFO archive, take our field recorders & cameras for walks and rides again, liberate us from constraining thoughts and produce material that is as light as it is satisfying. Take a noise here, perform a beat there, find a voice that might not be listened to and mould it into NOI_ES POP. DE3IVAT's first major operation is a six-EP-series, starting August 31st, 2018. The objective is to release a product all three months ending Xmas 2019 with an extra special product that still needs to define itself. So now it's up to you to enjoy: Play our music loud or not at all. To hell with any bullshit!

Gelber was a distinguished Canadian who served Canada in various capacities, most notably as Director of the Women’s Bureau of the Department of Labour and Canadian representative on the UN Commission for the Status of Women (1970-74). She held many international appointments during her lifetime, including that of Canadian delegate to the United Nations General Assembly (1976 and 1978). She was an Officer of the Order of Canada. Known for her wit, humour and a love of music, stylish clothes and fast cars, she led a colourful life that included early stints in theatre and radio. She also spent 15 years as a medical social worker and government administrator in British-mandate Palestine, an experience she chronicled in No Balm in Gilead, an award-winning 1989 memoir. – “Feminist Tore Down Barriers“, Globe & Mail, January 31, 2004 Sylva M. Gelber had passions for both music and the visual arts, and a keen desire to help unusually talented musicians to fulfill their potential. She established her Foundation as a vehicle to help young musicians at the beginning of their professional careers, and took a keen interest and delight in maintaining personal contact with many of the winners of the Foundation’s awards.
