Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Planetary Overdrive | Band Members Dan Sturdevant - Guitars / Vocals Natalie Sturdevant - Bass / Vocals Russ Wallace - Keys / Vocals Jarrett Nash - Drums Hometown Louisville, Kentucky Biography Planetary Overdrive formed in March 2016 when husband and wife duo Dan and Natalie Sturdevant wanted to start a Southern Rock band to play the songs Dan had been writing for a few years. They quickly found a drummer (Cam Thomas) and started playing the Louisville club scene. The self titled EP was recorded in fall and winter of ‘16/’17 and released March 2017. It was met with positive reviews by local critics, with John King of 37 Flood remarking, ”The album plays as if Randy Bachman (from Bachman turner Overdrive) recorded an album with Billy Gibbons (of ZZ Top) backed by The Donnas. Which is to say, it is a straight up party record. The first track, Party Weekend, is a testament to Planetary Overdrive's skill at rocking the party.” Shortly after the release of the EP long time friend and collaborator of the band Russ Wallace joined in with his talents on keys and vocals, rounding out the three part harmonies. In June 2018 Planetary Overdrive released their self produced album Boneyard. This album widened PO’s sound, featuring Eli Hall on pedal steel guitar, Travis Stanton on saxophone, and a number of friends lending their voices with background vocals. Boneyard received more favourable reviews, with Scott Recker of LEO saying, “The songs on Boneyard are singular, explosive moments, aimed at slicing into a time and place that is easily relatable, and capable of unlocking memories.” Jake Hellman of the Never Nervous blog declared, “Southern rock is not dead. With their latest release Boneyard, Planetary Overdrive are doing their part to carry on the top down, beer chugging, guitar fueled rock of some of the great classic rock acts like Molly Hatchet and Lynyrd Skynyrd. No need to reinvent the wheel here, just pick up your guitar and shred.” Another line up shift occurred shortly after the release of Boneyard with the departure of Cam Thomas on drums and the arrival of the vastly accomplished and adept Jarrett Nash, picking up the sticks. Planetary Overdrive is currently in their studio working on their next album. The band plans on rocking the party for some time to come!

Search | Add | 4 | Analogue Sea Otter | Boris Otterdam, Jericho Von Ebineezer, Basil F. Starbuck , Horror Fox | This project was started by Boris Otterdam and Jericho Von Ebineezer in Perth, Western Australia in March 1998 after the two met in art school at Carine TAFE. Later members included Basil F. Starbuck and Horror Fox. They performed one show at The Hyde Park Hotel in June 2000, supporting the goth/industrial band "Conditions Apply" The band were all known associates to Perth's punk rock scene in the late 90s and early 2000s. At the time the scene was welcoming to noise, experimental music, techno punks, fashionistas, goths and art idealists. This association lead to the collaboration with then close friends and former Bunbury/Perth punk band Trash Ivory in 1999 as noise punk supergroup "Trash Seaotter". All of the recordings made by them though, were lost in the Cheriton St. fire of 1999. A handful of Analogue Sea Otter recordings were reworked, remastered, and released posthumously by Boris Otterdam on Night Terror Recordings and ENDE Records in 2010 and 2019. Talk of a reunion was made in Melbourne in 2008 but is highly unlikely with the four members now living busy lives with scheduling conflicts and geographical distance too great. |

Search | Add | 4 | Thunderduk | Spawned from the fertile musical grounds of Cleveland, Ohio, Thunderduk was part of a local scene that included the likes of The James Gang, Glass Harp, Bang and Dragonwyck. Their desire to play original music and their on stage antics made them one of the top draws on the club circuit in the early 70's. The combination of Phil Hilow's folk background and the versatility of Jeff Ulmicher produced a sound that included intricate rock ballads and long complicated concert pieces. The foundation of their sound lied within the Bass work of Gary Wallis who spend many hours working on the band's equipment and developing new sound techniques to enhance the band's overall presentation. Rounding out the band was Bob Turchek on Drums who was later replaced by ex-Catscradle drummer Rick Fischer. Most of the material heard on this album was played by the band on two Agency Studio live broadcasts carried by local radio station WNCR.

Well, if you want to play 'seven degrees of separation', then you can go: timSEARS --> Very (partner in rhyme) --> Scarub (did an album with Very) --> Murs (fellow Living Legend) --> Slug (did an EP with Murs) --> Abstract Rude (hosted Slug on his "P.A.I.N.T." album). So with a couple of detours it only takes us five steps to position tim right smack in the middle of the legendary Project Blowed and with that right in the middle of the west's underground oven. But as said: detours, because timSEARS is much closer to the house that the west built, as there's more or less no degree of separation.

He created many characterisations of famous and known characters, with his catchphrases often becoming identified with the famous figure concerned, regardless of whether the figure themselves actually using them. Two of the most well known were actually spoken by the persons he caricatured. "Silly Billy" was spoken by his caricature of member of British political party, [l=The Labour Party], and Chancellor Of The Exchequer, Denis Healey, was actually used by Healey at the time to describe strikers. Search | Add | 4 | Lynchpin. | Raw and heavy melodic hardcore with some metal influenced guitar work and breakdowns. Four out of five being teenagers in high school when they formed in 1994. They were blessed with grown adult friend and weirdo vocalist Joe Bonomo having laid down some DC and Pittsburgh roots by moving there permanently, and unlike any RI based hardcore bands at the time spent most of their lifespan on short tours of the east coast and Midwest, playing routinely in New Bedford as opposed to Providence. They made friendships in those days that still last today, and gathered a following in the Midwes, DC, Florida, but made their strongest friendships at that time in New Bedford. They were lucky enough to be thrown on shows with bands like Battery, Good Clean Fun, Brothers Keeper, Camber, Ink and Dagger, Grade, Jeromes Dream, Unearth, Jazz June, Anasarca (with whom they shared members with for ONE show in DC), Midcarson July, Converge, Bane, Roswell, 7th Card Down, Bastian, Forcefedglass, Inkwell, Pensive, Frodus, Spazz and Zao between 95-1999, when they broke up to pursue post-hardcore projects Bradford Ave and The Tragic Formula. Their first show was opening up for Earth Crisis, Thermos, and Pennies from Heaven in 1995 at the Living Room in Providence; when most members were just 14 years old. Ostracized from Rhode Island’s often violent and slow chug tough guy scene at the time, their heart’s home was always in New Bedford. The exposure they had to hardcore scenes and bands across the United States dwarfed any RI band at the time. They became very tight with lifelong close friends from the Warwick, RI and New Bedford crews, and remain so to this day. XBEAUTYDIESX!

Search | Add | 4 | Deadsun | Deadsun is a five piece alternative metal band that explodes with energy and purpose. The music ranges from over the top aggressive to contemplative. The pounding rhythms and memorable hooks immediately grab your attention but it is the depth and intelligence of the songwriting that keep people coming back for more. In addition to the catchy songs, deadsun's live shows are volcanic, precise and exhilarating. The story of deadsun begins in 1999 when drummer Adam "bandit" Hempseed and guitarist Rex Arthur met through a mutual friend. The three formed the band that eventually became deadsun. In December of 2001, Hempseed and Arthur teamed up with singer Todd Cadorette. Dee Adman came on board after "Degenerate Matter" was recorded adding the percussive low-end tightness needed to push deadsun's live show over the top. The band quickly developed an ultra-tight high-energy live show that reflects its member's enthusiasm and conviction. Rex adds, "Our goal, every time we play is to give every thing that is in us…to hold nothing back and to always leave the stage knowing we just gave the audience one hell of a show!" After a year of playing gigs locally the band decided to go into the studio and record a demo. What started out as a demo evolved into the full length CD Degenerate Matter. The recording was done in Nashville, TN at The Track House and mixed at the Sound Kitchen. The CD was engineered, co-produced and mixed by Jim Lightman who had recorded everything from Hank III to Full Devil Jacket to India Arie. Deadsun released their CD Degenerate Matter on March 6th of 2004 in front of a packed house at the Blue Sky Court in Nashville. Deadsun is playing shows regionally every weekend, creating quite a "buzz" and winning new fans in every city they visit. Deadsun is currently in the process of assembling regional street teams to further expand their fan base. Ultimately, the goal of the band is Major Label release/distribution for their CD Degenerate Matter and to prominence on the international hard rock scene. Deadsun is a band on the brink and will not be denied.

Search | Add | 4 | Mike Korman | Vocalist, guitarist, producer. Born and raised in Hoboken, New Jersey, MIKE KORMAN has made a musical comeback. Guitarist in the 1980’s Hoboken band “GUT BANK”, KORMAN stopped playing music in 1987 to pursue a career in his hometown, working at City Hall. “I was inspired by reform Mayor Tom Vezzetti to serve in government”. Still working for the City of Hoboken, KORMAN has begun exploring music again. “For 20 years I didn’t pick up a guitar. But in 2007, I bought a used acoustic guitar at a flea market and began playing some old riffs - then applying some lyrics I had written years ago." The result was a collection of new recordings - a 2012 solo album “HOBOKEN ROCKS”. KORMAN has an audio engineering background. He records and produces all his own music and plays all the instruments. “What I am doing now is way beyond me just playing guitar in a band. “I’m creating my own songs, singing for the 1st time and loving it, performing better than I ever have in the past. I put a lot of work in the process and it’s enjoyable.” KORMAN played guitar with several groups during the 1980’s post-punk scene in New York City and played a part in the famed “Hoboken Sound” with GUT BANK. KORMAN was a member of the 1983 Lower East Side group “THE KEEPER” (Slum Goddess Records), made up of band members Michael Goglia, the early drummer of psychedelic garage rockers “THE FUZZTONES”, vocalist Parker Dulany of NYC‘s overlooked “CERTAIN GENERAL” and Tommy Victor, founder of longtime industrial metal band “PRONG”, who played bass at the time. KORMAN also played in the NYC groups “MISTAKEN IDENTITY” and “NO THANKS”, both part of the underground post-punk scene during the early 1980’s. GUT BANK, which toured often garnering a large fan base, enjoyed success from 1985 leading up to its 1987 album release “THE DARK AGES” (Twin\Tone, Coyote Records), produced by Roger Miller of MISSION OF BURMA, and often opened for HUSKER DU and the MEAT PUPPETS. Following the release of "HOBOKEN ROCKS" in 2012, KORMAN continued recording new songs, with a 2nd album "LIBERTY REIGN", released in January 2015.

October 20, 1889 Tuk, Srem District, Vojvodina, Serbia [then Austria Hungary] – December 24, 1944 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) Born in a small village in a multi-ethnic part of what is now Serbia, "Djoko" Dokich played the prim and the brač. In August 1913, he emigrated to the United States, where he settled in Pittsburgh and became one of the founders of the popular Tamburitza Orchestra "Jorgovan". In 1975, he was inducted into the Tamburitza Association of America's Hall of Fame. His TAA Hall of Fame eulogy runs, as follows: The life story of the late Djoko Dokich reveals the great part that perseverance and determination played in altering his life, thereby enabling him to pursue his chosen field in music and marking him as one of the all-time greats in the annals of tamburitza culture. Born in Selo Tuk, in the province of Srem, Yugoslavia, Djoko's father wanted his son to follow in his footsteps as a farmer, but fate plays mysterious tricks. After a gallant try, Djoko left the farm and soon was wending his way to America. In 1909, Djoko was entertaining with the greats in the world of tambura in the United States, playing in the original Jorgovan Orchestra and enjoying it with musicians such as Baich, Deda Petrovich, Elijah Miskovich, Pete Perez, Skornjak, Jim Kovacevic and the great violinist Zerbes (a fact which probably inspired him to have his son Melvin study and become one of tamburitza's great violinists). Djoko toured with his orchestra all over the country and was on many of the vaudeville circuits. In the late twenties, Djoko Dokich's arrangements started to make an impact. Arranging for large tambura groups, it was he who made it possible for tamburasi to play selections like Mozart's "Magic Flute", the Poet and Peasant Overture, Enesco's entire "Romanian Rhapsody" by Franz Liszt and many others equally as great. A pioneer in the early recordings, Djoko Dokich recorded some 100 records and for those who are fortunate to have one or two, they are collector's items. His original recording of "Kukavica" showed his talent for arranging. With a clever arrangement, he turned an average song into a winner. Always a gentlemen respected by his peers, Djoko excelled on first Brac, but was proficient on all the instruments that make up a full compliment of a tamburitza orchestra. He also had a fine, strong tenor voice with a fantastic range. In the early 1930s, the Dokichs were living in the Pittsburgh area. Here Djoko taught music and continued his playing. By now a certain youngster was being groomed and in a few short years was to become heir apparent. Young Melvin (Milovan) Dokich and father became a familiar sight and sound for years to come until World War II ended an era. During an emergency furlough from the service of his country, a strange quirk of fate befell young Dokich. Visiting his critically ill mother, he substituted a playing engagement for his father so that the elder Dokich could attend to his wife. Midway through the performance Mel received a phone call informing him of a death in the family. Knowing the severity of his mother's illness, he assumed his mother had passed away only to hear the voice on the line repeat "Your father has died". December 1944, Djoko Dokich was laid to rest in Cleveland, Ohio, thus bringing to a close the colorful career of a great musician, who overcame many obstacles to follow his heart's desire. Spiritually, Djoko Dokich is still with us. He lives through his great arrangements and the inspirational musicianship of his son, Melvin Dokich. |

Search | Add | 4 | Luc Miles | Luc Miles | Luc Miles have always had a particular approach with music. During his adolescence he has been attracted by afro, hip-hop and R&B music, from the great classics to the new releases. Luc had a constant musical learning and growing up he contradictorily started to approach to the electronic music world. Going often to different clubs, he quickly understood that he was intensely attracted by a total discordant musical style, comparing to his past trends. Seduced by the club culture and by the dark and hypnotic sounds of the minimal music, Luc tried to learn different techniques in order to produce his music. His experience of producer started as a hobby during the last years of high school. His real first EP "La Patineta" was published in 2009 on Alex Young's label, Kraft Records. From that year Luc started to publish numerous tracks on labels like Gomma, Malatoid, Society 3.0, Apt. International and Natural Rhythm. During the years were born also important collaborations with artists like Lucio Malatoid, Alex Piccini, Wigbert, Ian Pooley, Matt Star, Horatio and some of his tracks were played by djs of the caliber of Mendo, Ellen Alien, Josh Wink, Markus Homm, Martin Eyerer, Roger Sanchez and many others. Meticulous and perfectionist, in studio Luc selects ethnic and sensual melodies, trying to filter them in the ethics of the house and techno music. Congas, maracas and researched cymbals steadily nourish, with a cheerful and lively rhythm, the full-bodied and powerful bass line. The main suction is to bind and mix the electronic with the warm sounds of jazz and world music. Talking about his dj sets, Luc doesn't subscribe himself to a main genre, but includes all the various branches of the house and techno music. The approach with every dance floor, with a more or less numerous public, is to create a warm, harmonious and festive groove through an instinctive and well-balanced selection of LPs. |

Search | Add | 4 | Clark Galehouse | [l=Golden Crest] Records was headed by Cold Spring Harbor resident [a=Clark Galehouse] at manufacturing premises in Huntington Station from 1956 until his death in 1983. Galehouse saw the independent record business grow from a cottage industry to a powerhouse on the back of rock ‘n’ roll music. He participated in this growth through his [l=Shelley Products] pressing plant, servicing many national labels. Through [l=Golden Crest] and other labels, he released a wide range of music from rock ‘n’ roll and rhythm & blues to the classics. Galehouse also recorded many college bands throughout the country. As a musician, plastics expert, recording engineer and educator he put his talents to full use in the [l=Shelley Products] and [l=Golden Crest] businesses. In 1953, Galehouse formed [l=Crest Records] in honor of his Creston, Iowa, hometown mainly as a vehicle for western singer Arizona [a=Cliff Martin (5)]. [l=Golden Crest] was introduced in late 1956, just as rock ‘n’ roll was establishing itself through Bill Haley and Elvis Presley. However, the early releases were mostly dated pop reflecting Galehouse’s formative years in music. Over a nearly 30-year time span, [l=Golden Crest] released more than 500 commercial albums (plus many custom releases for colleges and schools) and some 200 45 rpm singles. Galehouse formed a music publishing company, [l=CFG Pub. Co.] (his initials). This enabled him to publish much of the original material that was presented for recording, thereby providing a secondary income stream. Although the pressing plant was Galehouse’s cash cow, he loved producing and engineering sessions and would make regular field trips to record college and high school bands for custom release on the associated [l=Crest Records] and [l=Silver Crest] labels. In May 1959, Clark Galehouse launched teen label [l=Shelley], named after the principal [l=Shelley Products] business, by now a large independent pressing plant, and in turn Galehouse’s daughter. By 1965, Golden Crest was primarily an album label. According to Shelley Galehouse Broven, her father was “known and appreciated for letting artists do what they wanted, unlike many producers or label owners.” Throughout the '70s and early '80s, Clark Galehouse was still traveling around the United States recording college bands at conventions. But after a second attack, he died on the road in Jacksonville, Florida, on January 3, 1983, at the age of 71. An obituary in the Oyster Bay Guardian described him as “a pioneer in the field of recording and record manufacture.” [l=Golden Crest] Records lasted one more year, and [l=Shelley Products] was ended in 1985.
