Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Syntifik Representing Vaughn, on the outskirts of Toronto, is an artist with the ability to stand head and shoulders above the ever-growing Canadian Hip Hop Community. Syntifik has all the qualities of a complete emcee; a distinctive drawly flow, strong lyrical prowess, fluid and structured song-writing ability, a deep-rooted spiritual grounding, and most importantly the ability to reach people through music. "What I speak is real, so you thirstin' to listen." Syntifik (pronounced Scientific) has experienced quite a lot in the last year. His first single, the catchy “The Arrival”, burned up T.O. radio during the 2nd quarter of 2002 and earned him a spot on Flow 93.5 “Blazin New Joints” charts one week after its commercial release. He followed that up with the 2nd single, “Trickin”. The DJ Serious produced track has made a big splash, helping to shake-off the sophomore jinx that usually comes with the follow-up single. His soon to be finished E.P., “The World I Live In”, has already received distribution with one of the hottest indies doing it right now, 'nuff Entertainment. Combine that with grants from both Factor and Videofact and you've got a pretty good rookie campaign for the young rapper. “The Arrival”, produced by Soze out of the Hustlemann crew, spending a few months in rotation on Toronto's Flow 93.5 and at its peak was one of the stations most highly requested Canadian tracks. Syntifik's flow and charisma matched perfectly with featured artist Diamond's smooth and precise vocals. That was the single that put the city on notice, Syntifik was a player in the rap game. With the distribution of his 1000 CD's on the Street promotion wrapping up in August of 2002, Tifik prepared his second single, the DJ Serious produced “Trickin”, for the fall. The catchy hook and addictive beat made the song a sure shot hit. Just ask DJ Mastermind who said, "If “Trickin” was any indication about this young MC's talents - the country needs to watch out!!!!" Heads got the message, as “Trickin'” can still be heard in primetime on major radio's hottest shows across the country. “Sparkling Diamonds”, the lead single from the EP, is the first video for Tifik. This song sees the emcee spitting some “jewels for the young brothas”, a departure from his early radio songs. “The World I Live In” finds Tifik doing that a lot. On the album he takes a very serious approach to, not only making a much focused record, but also using it as a medium to drop knowledge on the youth. Tifik's College and University campus show, “The Arrival Tour”, is back again for 2003. After closing 10 dates last year in Ontario, the tours producer, SEMS Entertainment, is looking to go countrywide this year. "I'm looking forward to going out and doing Syntifik", says the versatile emcee, "it gives me a chance to expand my fan base outside the city." Being a part of 13 Ronin, an independent hip-hop crew in the city, Syntifik knows that a strong team, and not one man, is what build greatness. "We have no weak links at all" he said, "The whole team is strong". Now the plan of attack now is to keep making music that the whole city feels. "Were just going to keep flooding the city with the hottest hip-hop out there", says Shabby, of 13 Ronin, "we're not attempting to be hard for the sake of mass appeal, were coming hard because Tifik speaks the truth and he needs to be heard, period."

Search Add 2 Phillip Watkins Phillip started his career at the age of three, when he sang at the local Independent Chapel, Saron, where his mother was the organist. He and his elder brother Elved won many prizes in local Eisteddfodau as duettists. Eventually Phillip emerged as a boy treble, and began his serious competitive career at the age of eight. Today one can count a hundred and twenty eight cups glittering in the glass cupboard at Castell Du Farm, his home, not to mention his medals and shields. He won twice at the Urdd Eisteddfod, but perhaps his most prized possession is the trophy which he won at the Royal National Eisteddfod, Flint, in 1969, when he sang Benjamin Britten's The Plough Boy'. When one adds all this to his concert work, his recordings and his Radio and T.V. performances one cannot but marvel at this achievement from a boy of fifteen. His first major concert was at Tabernacle, Morriston, in the company of operatic stars John Lawrenson, Victoria Elliot and the Morriston Tabernacle Choir conducted by Alun John. This was quickly followed by his appearance as a soloist, with combined choirs of 500 voices, at the Brangwyn Hall, Swansea. Subsequently, he enthralled 7,000 people at the Royal Albert Hall in a St. David's Day concert staged by the London Welsh Association. The Royal Opera House, Covcnt Garden, invited Phillip to sing seven performances as the shepherd boy in the opera Tosca'. Unfortunately, Phillip had to decline this invitation due to school examinations. He has appeared on Yorkshire T.V. with Harry Secombe in 'Stars on Sunday' and has featured in numerous BBC Wales programmes such as 'Telewele', Disc a Dawn, New o'r Ncwvdd, and Wales Today for World Service Radio. Phillip's first long playing disc was made at the Royal Albert Hall in November 1969, with the Royal Choral Society in a selection of Christmas Carols and conducted by Wyn Morris. The mature quality of his voice and his 'extreme professionalism', to quote one noble critic, united to make him one of the greatest boy soloists.

Search Add 2 Solar Architect Solar Architect biography: from- http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=5483 SOLAR ARCHITECT is a young progressive rock band from Ottawa, Canada, formed in January 2004. From the beginning the band was a trio, like masters Rush from where they take some of their influences (among others as YES or LED ZEPPELIN). Members include Rob NIMAN on bass; Frank MADORE on Drums; and Don FOURNIER's guitar, with special guest on keyboards and CD art, Kelly DODD. Their first release 'Ocean Depths' was in 2006, and was followed by the stunning 'Wrath of Nature'. From slower-paced moments to more up tempo passages, SOLAR ARCHITECT is definitely a winner in this genre, the production and arrangements first rate and the cover art for 'Wrath of Nature' is superb and complex thanks to Kelly DODD's skills. The spirit of modern progressive music - taking an already established musical idea and creating something that is unique - is precisely what Solar Architect have done.

Search Add 2 Zlata Razdolina Zlata Razdolina (Rosenfeld) Zlata Razdolina (Rosenfeld) – Russian Jewish composer, author and performer of her own music, was born and got her high musical education in Leningrad (St. Petersburg). She began her career performing her works in the artists’ organization "Lenconcert" in Leningrad. She is a Laureate of many national and international music competitions. Among her awards is her laureate at the all-Russian competition celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Victory over Fascism-1985-Leningrad. The summit of her career in Russia were her Laureate awards for her musical setting of Anna Akhmatova's poem "Requiem" in the national competitions in 1988 - Moscow and 1989 - Leningrad. Zlata was chosen to perform her composition "Requiem" during the Anna Akhmatova centennial in 1989 at the Kremlin, Moscow. The "Requiem", written for symphony orchestra, choir and soloists, was later performed in Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, USA and Israel. Most of her repertoire of more than six hundred romances and songs is composed of the famous Russian classical poets, A. Akhmatova, N.Gumilyov, O. Mandelstam, M. Tsvetayeva, A. Blok, I. Severyanin, S.Yesenin and others. These works, based on love poems, are set to music. This music has been successfully performed and accepted with great acclaim. Mrs. Razdolina immigrated to Israel in 1990 at the summit of her career. In 1993, the famous Israeli singer, Dudu (David) Fisher dedicated a TV program to her music. She later composed the soundtrack of the Israeli television series "Kastner's Trial" directed by Uri Barabash, which received the Israeli Oscar as the best dramatic series of 1994. Since then, she has composed song-cycles of the best-known Israeli poets, Rachel, Y. Wallach, N. Yehonatan, L. Goldberg and others. She has written music for many theaters in St. Petersburg and recently in Israel as well as music for symphony orchestras, choirs and chamber ensembles. Her setting of the poem "The song of the Murdered Jewish People" by the Holocaust poet Itzhak Katzenelson, completed in 1997 was originally composed for symphony orchestra, choir and soloist (cantor) to be performed in Hebrew. Its New York Premiere took place at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine at 2002 in front of thousands of attendants. The performance was by the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by maestro Arkady Leytush, actor Fritz Weaver and Zlata Razdolina. The Interfaith Committee of Remembrance Concerts a non-profit organization that conducts this Holocaust remembrance concert for the last 12 years produced this performance. Since then it was performed in several locations around the world, among them at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York (2012), at The Holocaust Remembrance day (Yom Hashoah) organized by the Israeli embassy in Moscow (2013) and as part of the ceremony dedicated to indicate 70 years to the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp by the Red-Army, at the Jewish and Tolerance Museum in Moscow (2015) On February and March 2003 Zlata went on a successful concert tour to St. Petersburg and Moscow where she performed at the St. Petersburg International Club located at the Dom Architect, at Anna Akhmatova's Museum located at Fontanni Dom and in Jewish centers in concerts sponsored by the Israeli consul in St. Petersburg. On October 2003 Zlata performed at a concert in Birmingham and was hosted by the famous BBC - Russian program host Mr. Seva Novgorodchev. You may listen to this program at: Go to Zlata's interview at the BBC Russian program read the interview (In Russian) and/or activate the Real Audio - RA or mp3 button according to your computer's music player. Search Add 2 Miegymás The band was born on 18th March 2010 in Budapest, Hungary "The band Miegymás adds a special, unique sound to the Hungarian music scene. The mostly cross-over style tracks are inspired by the elements of jazz, ethno and classical music. The band members are experienced musicians of high standards in classical and pop music alike who are open and creative both in their thinking and in their taste, and who believe in spontaneous forms of art. Thus, not only do their songs contain pre-written, and rehearsed themes, but a colourful variety of improvisative elements as well. They present a wide range of characters, paces, worlds of rhythm, harmony and melody in their concerts, sometimes with a completely lyrical passion and sometimes with an extremely wild galloping thunder. The group that had been formed in 2009 started its career in Budapest aiming at putting on the Hungarian and international stage something absolutely ""different"", special in comparison to what audiences were accustomed to - grasping as many opportunities as possible. So far they have performed on several occasions in the capital and in many towns and cities of the country within the framework of festivals or independent concerts. Several radio channels have interviewed them, and have broadcasted their songs. Their first, author’s edition album entitled Örvény appeared in 2010. Since that time numerous new songs have been born, which are recorded for the audience on the new album entitled "Mozaikdarabkák" ("Pieces of a Mosaique"). Gabriella Eszter Szabó - piano Réka Feuerstein - voice, flute László Kiss G. - bass guitar Áron Nyirő - drums"

Search Add 2 Jakob Aljaž Jakob Aljaž (born 7 June 1845, died 5 April 1927 ) was a Slovene Roman Catholic priest, composer and mountaineer. Aljaž was born in a small Upper Carniolan village of Zavrh pod Šmarno Goro, northeast of Ljubljana, in what was then the Austrian Empire. He was a priest and also a successful composer, singer and choir master. His works are still very popular among Slovenes. He became known by having mountain huts built throughout the Julian Alps, which fostered the development of mountaineering in the Slovene Lands. By far his most well known construction is the Aljaž Tower, built on the summit of Mount Triglav, the highest mountain of the Julian Alps and of Slovenia. He also arranged several hiking paths to be laid out, enabling more visitors to come to the mountains.
