Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | Tina Lawton | Tina Lawton | Born March 23, 1944, Adelaide, SA, Australia Died December 1968, Kenya Also Known As Christine Elizabeth Lawton Very popular South Australian folk singer from the 1960s. In her life, she released 3 LPs and made two trips to Vietnam but died tragically in a plane crash in Kenya December 1968 after appearing in an Australian ABC-TV production "The Restless Years" in 1967. Her second LP, titled Singing Bird, appeared approximately 6 months after the first and, once again, the choice of material reflected her deep and passionate interest in British folk song. Though Tina preferred her first album, public and critic alike received Singing Bird just as enthusiastically. Adelaide reviewer, Graham Reade, was in no doubt that she “is this country's best female singer of folk songs”. Again, she was supported on the album by harpist Hew Jones and also by the flautist Russell King. Her third and final LP, Fair & Tender, was considered by many to be her best, revealing a mature development in her voice and in her interpretation of the songs. While the rich tradition of British folk song again supplied the material, the musical arrangements, this time provided by jazz musician Don Burrows, all reflected a greater sophistication in her approach. Burrows himself played flute, while George Golla (guitar), Lal Kuring (cello) and Herbie Marks (virginal, piano accordion) made up the highly accomplished musical support. Her mother remembered Tina's enormous appreciation for her accompanists, to whom she would send 'thank-you' notes adorned with her sketches. Don Burrows recalled after her death how “she would often drop me a little 'thank you' note, always with some funny little drawing. How I wish I had kept them! Tina was such a good person to work with; she always knew exactly what she wanted in the music. This type of professionalism is only found in real artists and 'near enough' was never 'good enough' for her.” Tina made at least two concert trips to Vietnam. The first was a brief tour under the auspices of the Australian Forces Overseas Fund as a member (with Tim McNamara and Lee Gallagher) of an entertainment group to perform for the Australian troops soon after their arrival in the war zone. In doing so she alienated some of her more radical folksinger friends with whom she had performed at 'protest' concerts but, though hurt by some of their comments, she believed what she was doing was right and went ahead. On her return from this first tour she was interviewed on Adelaide television by Joan Disher and performed the song 'The Cruel War' with a depth of passion and conviction that many have never forgotten. During this and her later visit her letters and sketchbooks were filled with acute observations on the suffering of the local population and the young boys, American and Australian, sent to kill, die and be maimed in the jungles of Vietnam. In mid-1967 she left Adelaide for the last time, booked for a concert tour of Singapore, Malaysia, Bangkok, Manila and Vietnam. At the end of July, when she reached Saigon, her contract broke down leaving Tina overseas and she was left stranded without money, accommodation or work. Instead of returning home, however, she accepted a contract with the US Army to undertake a military hospital tour of the Pacific region that would begin in Vietnam and take in Japan, the Philippines, Bangkok and Guam. It was an exhausting tour, both physically and emotionally, and by the time she returned to Saigon in October her voice was in dire need of a rest. From South-east Asia Tina flew, via India, to Europe where she travelled through Greece and Italy before heading to England. In London she made the decision to go north to Glasgow to continue her studies in art that had been interrupted when she left Australia. Arriving in Glasgow in December 1967, she enrolled as a fourth year student in the Printmaking Section of the Department of Graphic Design at the Glasgow School of Art. She settled into life in Glasgow and immersed herself in her studies. Music during this time definitely 'took a back seat'. Indeed, her mother remarked that “during those twelve months in Glasgow, only a few close friends even knew that Tina could sing.” Her experiences in Vietnam had resulted in a re-evaluation of her life and recognition of deeper realities than the superficial glamour of the entertainment world. Though she retained her love of singing, she found that the maturity she had gained over the past year had now given her something to “say” through her art and she meant to pursue this. She was determined, recalled her mother, to not again become “so involved in singing that she might not complete her Art course.” Nevertheless, she did make a number of public performances during her time in Britain. After being persuaded to sing at a charity concert at Kelvin Hall in Glasgow, she was approached by Scottish Television to participate in a new show to be produced in Edinburgh. In this she was able to sing and design the graphics that accompanied her performance. The BBC also approached her for occasional television and radio work and she fielded offers of some local 'live' club work. But, despite this interest and the occasional social contact with professional folksingers like Nina & Frederick and Peter, Paul & Mary, she resolutely resisted the temptation to return to “the rat-race of show-biz”. At the end of 1968, as winter approached, Tina accepted an invitation from an old Adelaide friend, Graham Wright, to spend Christmas in Kenya. Wright was working in Africa as a free-lance pilot and was able to arrange a free return flight for her on a charter aircraft. The only condition he put on her accepting his offer was: “bring your guitar and sing for your supper!” Tina Lawton She arrived in Nairobi on 22 December and, after spending the weekend in Mombasa, she, Graham Wright and his friend Chris Paul, flew out of Nairobi en route to Lake Baringo where they planned to spend Christmas. They never arrived, the small Comanche aircraft in which they travelled crashing into the crater of Mount Longonot soon after take-off. The wreckage was not discovered until several days later and, on December 28th, a rescue party climbed into the crater and located the bodies of the three victims. The nature of the terrain made recovery impossible and a decision was made to bury them in shallow graves on the crater floor. The Accident Investigation Report concluded that, flying inside the crater, the pilot had been blinded as he banked directly into the rays of the setting sun. A memorial service was held in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Nairobi, on Friday 17thJanuary 1969 and, later, a stone memorial cairn was erected on the rim of the crater. In Adelaide, her death was the lead story in the Advertiser (30th December 1968), a new organ was dedicated to her memory in the family's church and an exhibition of her drawings, graphics and oil paintings was mounted at the Bonython Gallery in North Adelaide the following year. |

Search | Add | 5 | DJ OPM | F. Chris King | DJ OpM (pronounced Opium) is a composer, producer, DJ, and co-founder of Halsted Street Entertainment. Since 1986, he brings a wealth of experience and a unique love for music to his performances. “I can spin pretty much anything. To me, it’s all about music and what speaks to you. Your job as the DJ is to see if you can make other people hear and feel what you feel. I try to do that in every set I play.” He has performed at Anime Central at the Soap Bubble and also helped to create the Underground Groove – a Friday night dance at ACen that was later renamed and taken to new heights. He has also performed at Ohayocon and has thrown several parties at clubs in downtown Chicago designed to showcase new and upcoming talent. He admits his favorite type of music changes from day to day. “There are so many new artists that have unique visions about the direction of dance music today that I find myself finding tracks I like in a lot of different genres. But, if you were going to pin me to just one, I would choose Soulful House. I love vocal talent.” |

Search | Add | 5 | Jerry Justice | Jerry "Liberty" Justice | Born July 12, 1935 in Raytown, Missouri Jerome Lamar "Liberty" Justice wrote, played, and sang Bluegrass and Country tunes from 1971 to 1978. He was a member of "Green Side Up" Bluegrass Band who released a Vinyl LP with several of his original songs. He released a country album of his own called "Justice," for which he composed all of the tunes. Update: Jerry performed at Hobo Festivals all over the country from the 1980's until shortly before his death. Using his (and his Father's) stage name, "Liberty Justice" he wrote and recorded at least 40 songs in the hobo and hard life on the road themes assembled as 4 self produced albums of 10 songs each. This collection is now being copyrighted and released posthumously as CDs and Downloads by his widow, Brenda Justice. The collection is being remastered and designed for publication by ArchivalProductions.com. Jerry self-produced and recorded one last album on CD covering Country standards with his wonderful voice and playing called, "Blue River Blues" His other writings and works are being compiled now, including lots of unpublished inspirational songs written in the hospital as he was dying. Hundreds of people knew him as Jerry Justice, thousands loved him as Liberty Justice. A veteran of the Korean War, he served as a member of the United States Airforce. During the 1920's and early 1930's his father John David Justice had ridden the rails as a hobo, seeking work. Adopting the hobo name "Liberty," Jerry followed in his father's footsteps, logging close to 30,000 miles on the rails between 1993 and 1998. In 1996 he was voted National Hobo King at the annual Hobo Convention at Britt, Idaho. He was also dubbed the National Hobo Troubadour. A lifelong resident of Raytown, Jerry "caught the westbound" from his home on 23 Apr 2008 and rode it on in to the Promised Land. His remains were laid to rest in the National Hobo Cemetery which is within Evergreen Cemetery at Britt, Idaho. |

Search | Add | 5 | Frenchee | Hair / Glam Metal (Heavy Metal) band from Queens, New York (USA). Luke Luv, founder of Frenchee, started the band back in 1983. The 1st singer was Tony Harnell who eventually left Frenchee to join Rock band TNT. Luke wanted a clean slate and start a new chapter of Frenchee, so he started auditioning new band members. First he started with the bass player situation. Two bass players answered the ad together they were friends from Queens NY and wanted to come down to audition together. They were Kelly Nickels & Punky Lazar. Luke decided on Punky, & Kelly went to Los Angeles and Joined a band called Faster Pussycat but got into a bad motorcycle accident which resulted in a bad broken leg and a long stay in the hospital. Faster Pussycat just signed a Record deal and had to replace him, but shortly after that he joined L.A. GUNS and was they're bass player for the 1st 3 records. Luke liked Punky for his Glam Image and solid and melodic bass playing. It turned out to be the right fit. Next thing on Luke's agenda was finding the right charismatic good looking singer frontman. Well Sable Sex answered the ad and Sable didn't get the nickname "SEX" for nothing! Sables motto was "Sables the Name Sex is the game the man get's all the dames and they're never the same!" When Sable arrived to audition he walked down the stairs with a hot chick on each arm and sounded and looked the part. But it was the crazy off the wall personality that won him the job as Frenchee's fearless leader! Wow he found the right frontman that was just as crazy and partied just as hard as him & Punky. 6 Months earlier Sable meet soon to be drummer Niki Shea at a Rock Nightclub called L'AMOURS the rock capitol of Brooklyn. Niki Shea was on tour at the time with a band opening up for Warlock. Sable called Niki and told him he joined a promising Rock band called Frenchee with a Record company interest from Polygram Records and we need a drummer and your the 1st one that came to mind to complete the Ultimate Glam Sleaze Band. Well the east cost tour was just finishing up for Niki. So he came down for the audition. Luke, Punky & Sable all gave the thumbs up and proceeded to celebrate with a dozen bottles of champagne. Marking the beginning of Frenchee's crazy booze & sex filled debauchery! And Frenchee soon became notorious for there drunken backstage sex party's. Even the Groupies Mom's weren't safe! Some on tour stories can't be told! Due to signing a new Record deal with FnA Records in 2013, Frenchee will be releasing remastered recordings and previously unreleased songs. The FRENCHEE Boy's will be getting back together for a reunion tour, and also look out for a brand new Frenchee album of new songs that you can sink your teeth into. Search | Add | 5 | Turk Kincheloe | Stuart G. Kincheloe | The Turk Kincheloe Quartet was a jazz ensemble. The band was led by a pianist, Stuart G. Kincheloe (born April 13, 1931), who at this time was going as Turk Kincheloe; his guitarist, bassist, and drummer have not been identified. Six tracks were laid down at his session in October. Two contrasting sides saw release on Vee-Jay 143, a tough record to find today. "Modern Trend," as the title suggested, was a fluent bop number featuring Kincheloe's piano. "The Cash Box" was squarely aimed at the jukebox market; Kincheloe played organ with one hand and piano with the other, on a blues with a whomping backbeat. Vee-Jay soon turned to Tommy Dean for this kind of material, but when the company's Abner subsidiary was revived in 1962, its first release in the 7000 series was a couple of R&B instrumentals probably intended for use as interludes on the radio. "The Cash Box" fit right in, even though it was 8 years older than the Bill Sheppard number it was paired with. Kincheloe accompanied The Dells on their "Oh What a Nite" session (May 1956) and recorded another jazz session for Vee-Jay in July 1956, this time as a member of Duke Groner's aggregation. By the early 1960s, he had changed his marquee name to Kirk Stuart and was still leading jazz combos in the Chicago area. By the mid-1960s he had relocated to Los Angeles. For years, Stuart led a trio that backed singers, notably Sarah Vaughan and Joe Williams, but he also worked as an arranger and in other jazz bands, notably that of Al Grey. |

Search | Add | 5 | Nelson Arion | The Nelson Arion Male Voice Choir is an integral part of the musical landscape of East Lancashire. The choir was formed in 1887. Although Joe Ingham was the first of many famous names to have the honour of conducting the Arion Choir, it was not until he handed the baton to Isaac Thompson in 1890 that the choir ventured into the competitive arena. In was in 1910 that Lawson Berry (pictured on right) took the Arion to compete at Caergwile (Wales) where they took first prize and Bardic Chair. This was the first time a Chair was ever brought out of Wales.Over many, many years the unique sound from the Arion Choir has been widely recognised by people like Sir Thomas Armstrong, who for many years was a most respected adjudicator of Choral Music. Search | Add | 5 | Valentina Vuksic | Valentina Vuksic is a computer artist and programmer based in Zürich. Her work is a personal exploration of the possibilities afforded by articulated hard- and software mediation. She approaches computer systems via inductive microphones for magnetic fields, so-called “telephone adapters." With choreographies for software and computer elements, she utilizes these as actors in software/noise pieces for, and in, computers. Vuksic considers time and space of computer processor and memory as levels of reality. Software being processed creates own temporal and spatial dimensions, which are staged for a public. She aims for a sensual experience of the analytical sphere becoming concrete, where logic encounters the physical world. The mechanic noises serve as mediators to a public. They reveal in an immediate way the activities taking place between computer processes in the widest sense and the computer electronics they are running on.

Andy Newby later replaced Simon Jones towards the end of the bands life. The goal to become one of the greatest pagan bands of all time being the aim, the band started spreading promotional dollar bills with the band logo on. The band did UK shows and performed at festivals but after a couple of years the band disbanded. Besides the promotional dollar bill, the band also made and sold a promotional DVD-r disc featuring live material from the UK in 2003 but that would be it. Sabbat would later in 2006, officially reform with their classic 1989 Dreamweaver line-up and the band would continue to play live up until Dec 2010.
