Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Alessandro Fais | ALESSANDRO FAIS (Singer of Sardinian popular music) (Cantante della musica folkloristica sarda). Born in 1936, in Sindia, until a few years ago he was rightly considered one of the protagonist of "Canto a chitarra" (song of Sardinian folklore with guitar). Equipped with a decidedly expressive voice and with a strong charge of sympathy, Fais imposed itself long to win L'Usignolo della Sardegna, the highest singing competition organized every year in Ozieri. His melodious voice, brilliant and of great communicative capacity, made sure that the public gave him a broad consensus. In particular, Fais distinguished himself in the execution of the mutos de amore, but above all with his Ballu de Sindia, in a cheerful and lively interpretation, such as to deeply involve his listeners. It was also his personality, full of deep and sincere humanity, that made him appreciable and amiable to the general public. In 2005 he was awarded an important career award by the ACLI of Sardinia. Many recordings were made together with other cantadores, such as "Sa gara", in the company of cantadores Serafino Murru and Francesco Cubeddu, guitarist Antonio Marongiu and accordionist Pietro Madau. Search | Add | 3 | Al Tell | Alfonso N. Telcocci | From his obituary: Alfonso N. Telcocci (Al Tell), former Oklahoma City resident and Jazz musician, passed away in Denver, Colorado on November 11, 2006. He was born in Lodi, New Jersey on September 30, 1919. His father was a carpenter and his mother's family was in the nightclub business in Greenwich Village. He grew up with interests in construction and music. He honed his music skills by trying to emulate the artists of the time: Ellington, Basie and Goodman. Al Tell made his professional debut at the age of 14, as a summer resort (the Catskills) musician in New York. An early learning experience was working at a performing arts school in New York City. He'd begin with ballet music, switch into something for tap dancers, proceed to Broadway show tunes and could play in any key a singer desired. He made his radio debut on WNEW in New York City. He started the Alan Tell Quartet but with the onset of WWII, joined the US Army Air Force. He performed with the 721st Army Air Force band, and in typical military logic (because he had 'good hands'), was also assigned to bomb demolition duty. He married Jennie Grace Gnoffo in November of 1942. When his tour was up, he joined the Johnny Kaye Trio, a group which played the East Coast club scene. After two years of touring, he left his musical vocation for his other interest. He entered the New York School of Interior Design, received his degree and took a design job in Oklahoma City in 1948. Simultaneously, television made its first appearance in Oklahoma and Al found himself back in the music business, playing regularly on many of the early WKY-TV shows. His bands played all the local hot spots: Louie's 29 Club, The Branding Iron Country Club, Jack Sussy's Nomad Club, Diamond Jim's, The Chandelle and Juniors Supper Club. He was the regular pianist on the Tom Paxton Show, again on WKY-TV. Benny Goodman performed in Oklahoma City, heard him play and invited him to join his Canadian tour. Woody Herman listened to a song of his, liked it and recorded it. In the late 70's Al and his wife Jennie, moved to their favorite vacation spot, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Al formed a jazz trio that played the La Fonda, The Inn at Loretto and other Santa Fe hotels. He went back to his designing roots and built his adobe dream home in the hills north of Santa Fe. It was a showcase for the eclectic collection of art that he loved. Jennie passed away in 1983. In 1985, Al married Norma Torres Baca, a talented vocalist, and they performed together in Santa Fe until 1998. |

Search | Add | 3 | Fourteen Octaves | Short lived experimental Israeli band (active 1974-75) which combined progressive rock, jazz, and fusion. The band's name was derived from the fact that the piano covers seven octaves of notes and there were two pianists in the group. [a=Avner Kenner] and [a=Yoni Rechter] had known each other in high school and had met again in 1974 at The Academy of Music in Tel Aviv. Rechter was a member of [a=Kaveret] at the time, and discovered that he had the same musical taste as Kenner. Producer [a=Asher Bitansky] managed to get them studio time (along with drummer [a=Zohar Levi]) even though he knew the resulting album would not be a commercial success. During 1974-75 the trio also played live and also toured with [a=קצת אחרת] (Ktzat Acheret a/k/a Nonames), another progressive rock band. In 2008 Kenner and Rechter did a joint concert in which their performed some of the Fourteen Octaves material. It was the first time the two had played together in over 30 years.

Jim remained an ardent student of all subjects for his lifetime. In the weeks preceding his death he had decided he was going to learn to play piano like Dr. John. He was doing very well on the piece, "Just a Closer Walk with Thee."In his childhood he played daily on the Toby Tubby and the Luxapalila Creeks near Columbus. He was a dedicated teacher, pilot, a sailor, and a wonderful father, friend and life companion. When he retired in 2011 he began in earnest his devotion to his beloved backyard bluebirds and his puppies. He often said he wanted to talk to the animals like Tarzan did. Gracie and Lucy listened devotedly to every word he said. I believe the bluebirds were listening in his backyard. Perhaps he's flying over the rainbow with bluebirds right now, as he often said he wanted to do.
