Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 16 | J.M. Valle | Jose Valle, Jose Manuel Valle, H/M, The Homeboy Mad, Thee Midas Touch, | Executive Producer, Songwriter, Publisher, Graphic Designer, Promoter, Writer of [l1244578]. J.M. Valle grew up in East Side San Jo (California), just blocks away from historic King and Story Roads. Mr. Valle’s grandfather came to the United States under the Bracero program, a government program that helped fill farmworker labor while a majority of Americans were serving in World War II. Mr. Valle’s parents were both farmworkers who moved to San José in the late 1970’s during the height of San José’s low-rider capital to work on the computer assembly line. While Mr. Valle’s parents were chasing the American Dream, Mr. Valle endured a flawed education system, police harassment and brutality, and everyday survival of the barrio. J.M. Valle founded the Souleros Ball in 2009, which undeniably was the first public event where Rare Oldies (Soul Harmony/Low-rider Oldies) record collectors gathered to spin their prized collection in front of a live audience. The Souleros Ball indirectly embarked on an entire movement and market encompassing Oldies vinyl nights, old school cholo artwork, and contemporary recordings of the Rare Low-rider Oldies sound. Although the Souleros Ball showcased live performances since its inception, the Souleros Ball became a game changer in 2011, after a live performance by Myron and E of Timmion Records (Finland, Europe). This event constructed a bridge between contemporary recording artists and the Raza. At Mr. Valle's request, Myron and E performed a cover of The Exit's "Under the Street Lamp", which later led to a record contract with Stones Throw Records. During the same year, Wax Poetics Magazine released a cover story of the growing Chicano Rare Oldies scene which featured Mr. Valle and his contributions to the movement. In 2015, J.M. Valle wrote and directed the screenplay for the The Jack Moves "Joyride" (Wax Poetics) music video. The music video depicted la Chicanada with cameos of OG Dave (Barrio Brawler), Victor Barrera (Duke of Earl Movie), Roberto Hernandez (SF Lowrider Council), and Big Serg (The Principal). Filmed in San José, San Francisco's Mission District and Oakland, the video is also dedicated to Sonny Madrid, founder of Low Rider Magazine and Teen Angel, both of which had their break in San Jo, and passed during the same year. After trial and error, J.M. Valle formed Thee Baby Cuffs made up of Joe Narvaez, Gilberto Rodriguez and Dave Herrera and began his songwriting and producing career. In 2017, Mr. Valle self released a rendition of Larry Sanders’ “Where Did Peace Go” backed by The M-Tet (Bay Area). Mr. Valle re-worked the lyrics to describe the plight of Raza and re-titled Larry Sanders’ protest song to “Where Did Our Pride Go”. Digital formats and streams were released during anti-presidential inauguration protests nationwide when Trump took the White House. A 45 release followed during the same year on Cinco de Mayo. The following year in 2018, Mr. Valle wrote a song titled, “My My My Baby” about his early relationship with his wife, getting married and having a family, yet challenged by family members who naturally wanted to shield their baby girl. “My My My Baby” was recorded as a demo which never came to surface at Chris Lujan's (Lugnut Brand Records) studio bedroom. Cold Diamond and Mink (Stylart, a subsidiary of Timmion Records) cut an uptempo version which gave both Mr. Valle's songwriting and his group, Thee Baby Cuffs an international platform. In 2019, J.M. Valle released a reissue of Suenos “Baby I Love You” with the Spanish version as the B-Side for the first time on 45. J.M. Valle previously reached out to band leader Frank Lizarraga to perform at the Souleros Ball in 2013 in the band’s hometown in Sacramento, Ca.. Suenos “Baby I Love You” was originally pressed in 1982 as a single on San Jose’s Luna Records with a Spanish version released on their album the following year. The Spanish version never cut as a single and the sought after English version never made an album release making this reissue unique. Aside from Mr. Valle’s music career, he also wrote for Street Low Magazine making two cover stories, one of which being R&B Bay Area artist, Davina. Mr. Valle also broke the Souleros Ball in an article he wrote in Street Low Magazine which had Benjamin Bratt starring in the La Mission movie as its cover story. Mr. Valle also wrote for Teen Angel Magazine including its cover story of tattoo artists Pistolero Viejo which was also the last issue to print. J.M. Valle has also curated various art shows featuring art from prison and local artists. Lastly J.M. is known for his work in the community including prison reform, prisoner’s human rights, working with youth, historic preservation and mural advocacy. |
Search | Add | 16 | Microchips | MICROCHIPS was a Mexican children's rock music group active from 1987 to 1993. In 1987 Javier Willy (keyboard) and Daniel Willy (drums) from Torreón, Mexico, decided to start a band. Soon after, Ricardo Villa (lead guitar) joined them under the name Explotion (Explosion). Later they were joined by, Jay de la Cueva and Sergio Robles. To expand their regional musical career and supported by their parents, they moved to Mexico City, where record producer Luis de Llano, recognizing their potential and added his son, Tito de Llano. Finally, the Willy brothers invited their sister, Toti Willy, and this lineup became Micro Chips. Their first album, Niños Eléctricos, (Electric children) with original music by Spanish composer Miguel Rios, was recorded in early 1987 with the advice and help from Ricardo Ochoa (musician and producer). They released three singles. "No quiero" (I don't want to), "Angello" which was composed specially for one of the "Menudo" members and gained popularity on the radio, and "Boomerang", a track for a roller coaster ride in Mexico City. This record received a gold award for high sales. In 1990 the band radically changed when Javier, Daniel and Toti Willy decided to return to Torreón, to continue their studies. They later formed Rock Kids which signed with Polygram Records and released two albums. Micro Chips continued and looked for substitutes, recorded a second album, De Pelicula (1990) the three new members were Mariana Navarro, Jorge Mercado and Tomas Perez. In 1993 the band decided to record a new album and started looking for a new name, since they were no longer children. However this never happened, and the musicians continued their musical careers separately. In April 2014 the band's Facebook page announced the re-release, on April 22, 2014, of the Niños Eléctricos album, celebrating its 25th anniversary and the Mexican holiday, Children's Day, on April 30.

Search | Add | 16 | Marjoe Gortner | Born on January 14th, 1944. Former evangelist and film actor, Marjoe Gortner is the grandson of prominent Assemblies of God leader J. Narver Gortner. Marjoe was preaching from the time when he was just a child, around the age of four. By 1951, his younger brother Vernoe was brought into the act. By the time Gortner was 16, his family had made three million dollars profit from the preaching. Not long after that his father ran off with the money. As a young man he did the rounds on the revival circuit and gained celebrity status. In 1972, he starred in the film "Marjoe" which showed what went on behind the scenes. The film which won the 1972 Academy Award for Best Documentary Film is now regarded as one of the most forward criticisms of Pentecostal preaching. Years later Texe Marrs would include a section from the film in his documentary "The Blind & the Dead" which was an exposé on greedy evangelists and religious charlatans. Around 1972, Gortner's album, "Bad But Not Evil" was released on [l39811]. The album which was themed on his documentary was a mixture of country, rock and gospel. Search | Add | 16 | Second Line Jazzband | Swedish traditional jazz band, formed in 1989 in Gothenburg. They have, since then, established a position as one of the most popular traditional jazz bands in Europe. Original improvisations and arrangements and a tremendous intensity in their playing have given them opportunities to perform at many jazz clubs and festivals, on TV and radio in, for example, England, Germany, France, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Finland, Denmark, Norway and, of course, Sweden. Many prominent musicians have guested with the band over the years such as Antti Sarpila, Lillian Boutté and Orange Kellin. Their unique style comes from their widely differing musical backgrounds but above all it is the New Orleans revival style which gives us the greatest inspiration and is the kind of music they specialize in.

XtremeMusik is a young, passionate, humorous, critical thinker when it comes to music. At a young age, he was more of a daydreamer listening to atmospheric sounds that catches his ear what most people don’t hear in today’s world. He describes these atmospheric sounds: “Small to catch”. On his spare time, he was excessively playing video games to keep himself entertained. Until the age of 14, he discovered his favorite group (Ethereal Universe, before being added to the group) that inspired him into doing music production. Getting glimpse of ideas from a popular night-only broadcasting network known as “[adult swim]” from their commercial break bumpers, XM took action by experimenting sounds and creating adult swim-like bumpers on his personal YouTube channel, using his creativity and original sounds. |

Search | Add | 16 | Sondra Williams | Sondra "Blinky" Williams (born May 21, 1944 in Oakland, California is an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter. She recorded the album Hark The Voice on Atlantic Records, then moved to Motown where she recorded (as "Blinky") five singles including her debut, the Ashford & Simpson penned single "I Wouldn't Change The Man He Is", (a song reportedly written about Lovin' Spoonful studio bass player James Killingsworth) in 1968, and thought she would find success when she recorded a duet album with Edwin Starr entitled Just We Two on the heels of his 25 Miles. However, they did not get the push that either the Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell or the Supremes-Temptations duets did, and success again eluded her when, after becoming a protégé of Sammy Davis, Jr., his deal with the label fell through. Blinky released two further singles for Motown in the early 1970s (on the company's California-based MoWest subsidiary) and has had several others scheduled for release but never actually released. She is also credited with singing the theme for the 1970s TV series Good Times, along with Jim Gilstrap. His version of "God Bless The Child" appears on the album Rock Gospel: The Key To The Kingdom and her recording of "'Tain't Nobody's Biz-ness if I Do" is on the soundtrack of Lady Sings The Blues, the Billie Holiday bio-pic starring Diana Ross. Unfortunately, most of her solo work, save for a few singles, remained until 2019 unreleased. She can be heard live on the Motortown Revue Live! CD. In addition, she was one of the original Cogic Singers, with Andraé Crouch, Sandra Crouch, Billy Preston, Edna Wright (lead singer of The Honey Cone), Frankie Karl, and Gloria Jones. Following her non-success with Motown, she returned to gospel music and resumed her given name. On October 31, 2009, Sondra appeared as a backup singer, along with Sharon Jones, performing The Rolling Stones' "Exile on Main Street" as part of the rock band Phish's musical costume at their Festival 8, which was held at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California from October 30, 2009 through November 1, 2009.

In 1904, Karinskaya made her debut in operetta in the troupe of V. A. Kazansky. Severe rheumatism prevented her from performing in the opera. Instead, she became known as a singer of romances, praised for her strong mezzo-soprano voice that came almost close to a contralto. During the war, she performed "Evenings of Russian Antiquity," singing Russian folk songs in traditional Russian costume and raising huge sums for the treatment of wounded soldiers. After the October Revolution 1917, however, her wealth was seized and she, her son and her daughter fled to Harbin, China, where she converted to Protestantism and became a missionary. In 1924, she made her way to the United States via Canada. Later, she and her daughter lived on a farm in Canada. |

Search | Add | 16 | DJ BSR | DJ BSR is a techno deejay and producer based in The Hague (Netherlands) and has recently been spinning on a monthly basis at one of the techno havens in The Hague; Club Magistrat. DJ BSR’s love for electronic music started in the late eighties and early nineties. Almost immediately, he felt the need to start producing himself. He bought his first gear in 1991 and has never really stopped making music. With a strong love for the 303 sound, hardcore/ gabber, acid techno and hardtrance were his main genres at that time. Nowadays he does not think too much in genres, but if asked, he would probably say techno. The past still inspires him till this very day, so that’s what you will hear in most of his music- whether it’s in his own productions or his mixes, it is a combination of the past and modern sound. Coming from the heart, it is made full of passion and the way he wants it to sound, bringing joy to himself and to others. That will always be the drive for him to make music.

With his childhood friends, in the group [a=Cell Block], Hipe quickly made a name for himself as an MC and producer. His expansive style and enthusiastic sense of composition has made him one of Cape Town underground hip-hop's most respected producers. Hipe was one of the founding members of [a=Cell Block] and produced for the group in early 1995. Venturing further, he produced a compilation in 1997 called "The Detonator" which showcased local artists from all over the Cape Flats. A few of his projects included tracks he did for a documentary entitled "Tomorrows Heroes", featuring the likes of the late [a=Mr. Devious], [a=Godessa] and [a=Cell Block]. He Produced the soundtrack for an advertisement, which he did for Mr. Fat of [a=Brasse Vannie Kaap], that later aired on Television (2002). In 2000, the group [a=Ancient Men] was born, of which HIPE was the producer and MC alongside Demus, another MC from the Flats. He independently produced their entire debut full-length album, which was released in 2005, entitled 'The Food of Life", and spawned the hit single "Sum Day". |
