Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Geraldo Brito | Acoustic guitarist, singer, Brazilian composer, music teacher and important character within the popular music of Piauí. He had his first contact with music at the age of eight. A small plastic acoustic guitar that was only replaced by a real acoustic guitar in the beginning of 67, when he turned 13. Self-taught, he practically taught himself to play. Professional classes started some time later and served as a complement. As a teenager, he was part of some musical groups and became even more involved with the creation and composition process, something that was already his passion and would be his profession over the years. In the 70s, festivals for northeastern lands began and Geraldo won a festival in 1977, in partnership with Cruz Neto. In the following decade he started to do many shows in Brazil. There began its trajectory. Since then, the musician has participated and won several festivals. Throughout his career, he combines shows, studies and creations with the profession of teacher in music schools, giving classes in popular and classical acoustic guitar, improvisation and music theory. In addition, it contributed to boost the career of countless singers through the “Geraldo Convida” project, created in the 1990s with the participation of artists such as [a8316444], [a8316456], [a5401618], [a4590999] and Luíza Miranda. The artist is thorough, with dissonant chords, incredible harmonic quality, refined. His home became a meeting point for artists, writers, literary and intellectuals. All meetings in the late 1970s converged there. He went to Rio de Janeiro, at the invitation of Patrícia Mellodi, staying for almost 6 years. Back in Piauí, he brought a lot of ideas into the bag that gave rise to his first album, Maracatou (2001), where he puts his voice on a single track, leaving space for special participation by other musicians and performers such as Lô Borges and Toninho Horta. Since then, he continued producing during the hiatus between the first and the second CD "A Dança das Tulipas", released in 2018.

Search | Add | 2 | Ganzer Maschine | Ganzer Maschine | Cultural stability is maintained by keeping members of any cultural group from seeing that the Roles, Rules, Goals, Rituals, Language, and Values are game structures. Cultural institutions encourage the delusion that the game of life are inevitable givens involving natural laws of behavior. Avoid these lies. Analyze. Analyzing all segments of culture life leads to realization of our inner self. External and inner. All processes around us consist of the synthesis of these two elements. This synthesis leads to the point of GANZER. Ganzer Maschine aim is to help modify your inner models of thinking. We don't use direct force. Every human must find his own point how to access hidden. It's not an easy way. Communication is important. Expansion of global communication creates complex mechanism of interconnectivity. We call it Ganzer Maschine. Ganzer Maschine goal is live performances. We expand direct communication. Every show is specific and unique. Sound manipulations can vary from ambient to noise forming global industrial point. It all depends on place, timing and inner energy state. "In the information-communication civilization of the 21st Century, creativity and mental excellence will become the ethical norm. The world will be too dynamic, complex, and diversified, too cross-linked by the global immediacies of modern (quantum) communication, for stability of thought or dependability of behaviour to be successful." - Timothy Leary |

Search | Add | 2 | TyRoll | Ötztal musician Marlon Prantl is in the process of realising an ambitious undertaking with his band TyRoll: the idea is to close the circle between the past, present and future through music. Traditional folk music and world music become fused in contemporary arrangements. Audiences are delighted by self-composed songs performed in the Ötztal dialect, unplugged, live & loud, both with and without artistic and multimedia enhancements. Music is the language of the heart – which is why it is understood all over the world. Marlon Prantl @ TyRoll leaves no doubt that its identity is deeply rooted in the Tyrol’s Ötztal valley. The local dialect is regarded as Austria’s oldest language and has even been recognised by UNESCO as a piece of intangible cultural heritage. In their work as resounding ambassadors for the region that is their home, TyRoll has composed an authentic image of the Ötztal valley, of the Tyrol and of Austria.

Search | Add | 2 | Jon Bremen | "Jon Bremen is a rare and gifted musician who possesses a unique ability to craft improvisational melody into pure magic. Students of jazz guitar and all instruments would be well served by studying his improvisations. Jon is also a talented composer and I believe he will be recognized as a leader in the new generation of modern jazz guitarists" -Pat Kelley "Guitarist Jonathan Bremen's warm clear sound and bop articulation are rooted in the tradition of Jimmy Raney and Tal Farlow, but he has his own voice as an improviser and composer. He has chops to burn, but he uses them with taste and discretion and knows the value of space and breath in the music. I look forward to hearing more from him." -John Stowell There is no shortage of great guitarists in Los Angeles, but Jon Bremen is finding a personalized approach amidst the bustling LA music scene. Jon was bit by the bebop bug as a teenager and dedicated several years to learning the musical the language of Charlie Parker, Bud Powell, Clifford Brown, etc. His curiosity eventually lead him to study music at some of the most prestigious music schools including Indiana University and the University of Southern California. "When I moved to LA, I was instantly humbled and inspired by the musicians around me. So much so, that I was compelled to retreat entirely for a few years and find a path that felt like my own. " Along this path, Jon continues to discover a personalized musical vocabulary beyond his jazz roots. Even though Jon is dedicated to exploring new melodic, harmonic and rhythmic materials, his music is grounded in the familiar textures and timbres of jazz, pop, rock and soul. Working with a community of like minded musicians, Jon is committed to creating cutting-edge music that eschews familiar stereotypes. Jon plays alongside the freshest young players on the international scene including Vardan Ovsepian, Ariel Alexander, Tim Lefebvre, Louis Cole, Bob Reynolds, Janek Gwizdala, Damian Erskine, Dennis Hamm, Joshua Davis, Sean "The Rick" Rickman, and many others. In addition to being a dedicated performer, Jon is a passionate educator. He earned a doctorate in Studio/Jazz Guitar from the University of Southern California (USC) and is the head of the music discipline at Los Angeles Southwest College. Jon is also in demand as a sideman and session guitarist because of his creativity, technique and vast musical vocabulary. His guitar work is featured on numerous commercial films and recordings.

Search | Add | 2 | Helena Morsztyn | Comtesse Helena Morsztyn (ca. 1889-1954) was born in Warsaw in 1889 (or 1888), a daughter of Count Kazimierz Morsztyn (1855-1900). Her mother, Maria Klemensowska (1859-1933), was a pianist and the first teacher of Helena. Her grandmother Zofia Klemensowska (née Malhomme, 1830-1905), daughter of a Polish 19th Century exile in Paris, was a pupil of Frédéric Chopin. From the grandmother Helena received many priceless hints and was fostered in a love and understanding of Chopin's music, evidenced in her many concert recitals. Helena stated in later years that her grandmother was an exceptional pianist, greater than she, but being a member of the aristocracy could not engage in a public career. One of Helena's relatives, Jan Andrzej Morsztyn (1621-1693), was one of Poland's great poets. After her regular educational studies she was taken to Vienna at the age of eleven to study with Teodor Leszetycki (Theodor Leschetizky, 1830-1915). New students were assigned to preparatory teachers and the Norwegian pianist, Dagmar Walle Hanson (1871-1954) became Helena's teacher at the beginning. Advanced study was with Leszetycki. This eleven-year-old "wonder child" captivated audiences in the Warsaw Philharmonic. One of Europe's great and favored concert pianists, Emil von Sauer (1862-1942) became her instructor. Sauer, seeing the sixteen-year-old student obtaining the high prize that the Austrian State bestowed on her after graduating from the Meisterschule in Vienna, dedicated one of his concert studies, "Sylphes Glissante" to Helena. Among her Vienna colleagues were Elly Ney (1882-1968), Henrietta Michelson (later of the Juilliard faculty) and Mieczysław Horszowski (1892-1993). Emil von Sauer had planned a concert tour of Spain but was unable to go and he chose Helena to fill the engagement. Her brilliant success led to tours in other countries confirming her a virtuoso of the first rank. The Italians in Rome and Genoa and Spaniards in Madrid lost their hearts to the witty young girl who resembled a rosy baroque angel. Her music cast its spell over Cairo, where even the great rabbi of Rome listened from the seclusion of a box to the Chopin melodies rendered by this young Polish pianist. She played in the residence of the conqueror of Iraq. A home was established in Italy and concerts were given throughout Europe. After World War I, a family named Kirby** became her friends and took her to England. It is possible that at this time she made the HMV phonograph recording (Scherzo B flat Minor - Chopin). More records were made of the Chopin Waltzes and Mazurkas for a small recording company Transphono. In 1928 she came to the U.S.A. and her New York debut was in the Guild Theatre in an all-Chopin recital. William MacPhail, founder and director of the MacPhail School of Music in Minneapolis, offered Helena a position on the faculty of the school as head of the piano department. Some altercation between them caused Helena to leave the school and open a private studio and give a series of master classes until the early years of World War II. She returned to Italy but due to conditions at that time, she returned to the USA to live, teach and give concerts. A Town Hall recital was given December 3,1941 with other recitals in 1944, 1945 and 1948. She had a studio in New York but later moved to Minneapolis to teach and give master classes at Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, S.D. from 1944 to 1947. Helena was a close friend of Ignacy Jan Paderewski (1860-1941) and a daily visitor in the home of Paderewski's sister, Antonina Paderewska-Wilkońska (1857-1941). The conditions of World War II in 1941 forced Paderewski and his sister to live in Florida. When Paderewski died June 29, 1941, Helena was with the bereaved sister. She was a fervent admirer of Eugen d'Albert (1864-1932) and admired his Beethoven interpretations. During World War I she was able to contact her family in Warsaw only through the Vatican and d'Albert. The latter possessed two passports, British and German which he used during the troublesome times, and he was ever expeditious to aid Helena. Helena gave many concerts and worked to assist Polish refugees to reduce the misery caused by the invasion of the Nazis. It is probable she made the piano rolls [Welte) when in Germany during tours. Welte roll E1163 of Liszt's Concert Etude D flat Major No 3 is listed in the 1917 catalog. Her death was May 22, 1954, caused by a cerebral hemorrhage suffered May 8th at her home, 189 East 64th Street in New York. One of Helena's students, J. Earl Lee (1908-1992), Professor Emeritus of Music at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D. recalled her playing in the master classes as "My memory of moments of intense beauty, rarely if ever exceeded by other listening experiences." During the summer of 1938 she appointed Mr. Lee to be her assistant in her master classes; prior to this he had several months of study with her in Genoa, Italy. **Mrs. Kirby was Contessa Maria Luisa Fantoni (?-1946), member of a historic Florentine Family, and Mr. William Henry Kirby (1872-1936) was a composer and a member of a prominent British banking family. Article by Emmett M. Ford, appearing in The AMICA bulletin, November 1981. Spelling of names fixed, dates added.

By 1973 the metamorphosis from trio to quartet was complete with Dewey becoming a full member. The group lasted until October 1976 and recorded almost a dozen albums in this brief period, sometimes featuring extra musicians such such as guitarist [a=Sam Brown (2)] or percussionists [a=Guilherme Franco] and [a=Airto Moreira]. The American Quartet was given this moniker to distinguish it from Jarrett's "European" or "Scandinavian Quartet", featuring [a=Jan Garbarek], [a=Palle Danielsson] and [a=Jon Christensen]. It should be noted that even though both groups formally existed, they were never credited as such on any of the albums they released, which generally only billed Keith Jarrett as main artist.

Search | Add | 2 | Doc Alumbaugh | Caller and founder of the [l154317] label in 1950. A true pioneer in the field of square dance recordings, Doc Alumbaugh was a part of the square dance "explosion" that hit America in the mid and late 1940s. Together with his wife, Winnie, he conducted some of the largest classes in the Southern California area when classes were still a novelty. Doc was one of the first callers to travel and call in States outside his own home area. He identified a need for learning material to provide students so they could practice at home and not forget the steps they learned in class every other week. After retiring from his "day" job in business management, he started Windsor Records in his garage, doing all the production, shipping and selling himself. His initial goal was to provide records to people enrolled in his dance classes, but when other dancers and callers expressed interest in the records he expanded his business. Within two years, Windsor Records had outgrown Alumbaugh's garage and had moved to a rather large building in Temple City that housed its own pressing, printing, processing, and warehousing facilities. Soon, his label became one of the foremost square dance record labels. In addition to hiring excellent session musicians, Windsor introduced the idea of releasing a record with calls on one side and just the instrumental version on the other side. He was a member of the original Southern California Callers Pow Wow and was largely responsible for the formation of the Southern California Callers Association. Doc's life was cut short on January 7, 1964 and Winnie followed him a short while later.

He started his career at Mr. Jam, an offshoot of the initial ideas produced by his college band called U.S. (Union of Souls). Changed the name when signing with the record company. Many of the band's ideas came from his head. He played the guitar, composed, sang, made arrangements. All this experience acquired in the movement of electronic music and dance music in Rio de Janeiro in the 90s, in which he already produced several songs for various dance music projects and singers, gave the artist the luggage to act today as one of the great producers of electronic music in a more commercial line (international dance pop latin), but the genre is not a limit for the artist. He currently runs Massiva - Music & Management: a label and an audiovisual and management production company. |

This is the follow-up album to the 2014 release Flying Into The Sun. HAMMERCAN's sound is guitar driven, big, powerful and loud. It's Van Halen meets Def Leppard, or Bon Jovi meets Kiss. There are also hints of Chickenfoot and Foreigner. The music, heavily influenced by the big guitar bands of the 80s, is catchy, melodic, solid and unforgettable. The sound is most definitely HAMMERCAN. (from web link below) |

Search | Add | 2 | Master Wu | Another Indonesian music group. Master Wu. Actually, this band that carries rap rock music has been formed since April 1997. However, due to various reasons, Master Wu often changed personnel and it was only in 2008 that the formation of personnel has remained until now: Madz, Yudz, Dawz, and El. The name Master Wu comes from the name of a cultural revolutionary figure from a generation in the Bamboo Curtain Country who spoke out loud about the dire conditions at that time. The name then penetrated into the way of music. Not surprisingly, Master Wu often performed songs with social, philosophical and psychological themes.
