Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 8 | Asdis Sif Gunnarsdottir | Ásdís Sif Gunnarsdóttir | Ásdís Sif Gunnarsdóttir, born 1976 in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, lives and works in Reykjavík, Iceland. Gunnarsdóttir studied at UCLA in Los Angeles and at the School of Visual Arts in New York.Ásdís is known for her performances that take place in unconventional places and her video installations consisting of three dimensionality and visual phsycadelic poetry. Treating videos as songs, Ásdís vj´s together combination of her videos and reads poetry over them. Her art work can vary from large video installations and performances to spoken word poetry and photography. Her performance at the Berlinale film festival was called “The Abstract Prophecy Conference”. It was a 45 min long “journey to the psychedelic vastness of the feminie mind. The artist controls an abstract PowerPoint blended in with music, videos, performances and poetry”. A one woman show where she mixes video art and skype performances into the stage. Ásdís started making performances through skype in 2007 where she had a new performance every Sunday afternoon by the computer. The audience would call in that hour for a performance. Since then she has on and off used the online medium for performance and video making, where improvising plays a big part of the art. In 2011 she made a large video installation called “Improvised, immediate past” in the show “Momentum”, she recorded a performance and did not allow herself to edit it, it was a one take and projected onto the walls, live size from 3 different angles. This way she wanted to release her control over the video medium and celebrate the “Power of now”, the beauty in the details. Ásdís is a part of an artist group that is called “Theater of Artists” that makes glamorous evenings of performances in the basement of The National Theater in Iceland. In the fall of 2011 Ásdís along with Ragnar Kjartansson and Davíð Þór Jónsson lead a residency in Banff called “The Soiree Retreat” where artists got together every week and made an evening of Soirees, full of poetry, videos and singing. |

Search | Add | 8 | Sokolyara | Sokolyara began composing music in 2005 in Moscow before he studied at the university, he was 22 years old. He often came to rave watching the performances of his favorite artists, they gave him strength and a desire for more creative inspiration and a desire to create something new, progressive, began work in his own recognizable style, much of which was played by his nature and perception of the world . Soon they were busy in complex rough directions, and the technology as a whole is sound experiments in such directions and styles as techno, trance, idm, doom, industrial, rhythmic noise, under the wing of its own network label "sacramental", where he hid under the Exact Noise. He performed in clubs and hidden forests. In 2015, recording began on the ground. Over time, he began to live more in the basement of the Studio somewhere in the Moscow region, called it "Holerika", where he continues to actively engage in creativity. Search | Add | 8 | Big Dan Starr | Estle Don Linebarger | Lead singer "Big Dan" Starr certainly had a colorful relationship with his own identity... The Dan Starr persona was one of many he used during his lifetime, including several variations of his birth name, Estle Don Linebarger (1937-2004). Mr. Linebarger was born in Missouri and as a teen he performed on local radio and played around in a hillbilly band called the Ozark String Dusters. Linebarger joined the Army in the late 'Fifties and played European gigs in a serviceman's band that included Tommy Cash, Johnny Cash's brother. (Or at least that's what he told the Orlando Sentinel when they profiled him in 1973). He started writing music as a teen, copyrighting at least one song in mid-'Fifties, and released a few singles between 1968-73, including a UFO conspiracy anthem ("Captain Tom Martell") and a patriotic song, "Bugle Boy," which he dedicated to Vietnam War-era POWs. At some point, he may have lived in Nashville, and in the late '60s was playing clubs around Philadelphia and Wilmington, Delaware. Around 1968, he led a group called the Rustlers, which he later changed to the Hometowners. Going by the name Starr, Mr. Linebarger eventually moved to Florida, establishing himself as a bandleader and television host, fronting a group known as the Hometowners USA. |

Search | Add | 8 | Deep Memories | DEEP MEMORIES is an One Man Band from Americana - São Paulo - BRAZIL founded by multi instrumentalist and producer Douglas Martins in 2016. After leaving the Brazilian Death/Black Metal band DESDOMINUS in 2005 Douglas Martins remained composing material. The result came to be Deep Memories. In musical terms, the compositions demonstrate cadence, heaviness and different nuances, mixing melody and aggressiveness with beautiful guitars duets, an atmosphere that refers to great icons of Death, Doom, Gothic and Progressive Metal with vocals varying from speeches, singing, choirs and the most pungent screamed and guttural. The lyrical thematic revolves around the very name “DEEP MEMORIES”. Douglas Martins talked about it: “When we read these words, we are immediately referred to memories of very significant moments of our existence as illnesses and death, disappointments, obsessions, moments of panic and depression and if we speak in psyche, we have totally inaccessible records in our memories that store lapses few explored by the human race". This is the lyrical theme of DEEP MEMORIES: Expose what these memories produced, produce and still influence in the direction of the intellectual, social and spiritual character of the human race. The debut album was recorded, produced and masterized by Douglas Martins during some sessions between 2016 and 2018 at AJM Studio in Americana - São Paulo. On June 21th, 2018 was released in all social medias the first Music Video from the song “The Bitter Taste of Illusion”. The receptiveness was great among the worldwide headbangers and specialized media. On July 3rd, 2018 was released by labels Heavy Metal Rock and Misanthropic Records an promotional EP containing 2 songs taken from upcoming full-length album. “When the Time For My Last Breath Comes” and “The Bitter Taste of Illusion” were selected for this release. This EP is called “IN TOO DEEP…”. On September 17th, 2018 a Lyric Video for “When the Time For My Last Breath Comes” was released. This video was produced by Razia Vídeos. The full-length album “REBUILDING THE FUTURE” was released simultaneously in Brazil, Japan and Russia in September 21th, 2018 by: Heavy Metal Rock and Misanthropic Records (Brazil), Invasion of Solitude Records (Japan) and GS Productions (Russia). This album is also available on all digital plataforms (SPOTIFY, DEEZER, iTUNES...). Douglas Martins also developed the front artwork from Brazilian and Russian editions. The Japanese edition has an exclusive front artwork developed by CadiesArt (DragonForce, Doro Pesch). On November 6th, 2018 was the release date of a new lyric video for "Suffocating Grayish Darkness". This video was produced by Igor Sacilloto, who worked on the videoclip "Lying in State" of Megadeth. “REBUILDING THE FUTURE” was nominated as one as the best 2018 releases in Brazil by some specialized media like METAL NA LATA, HEAVY METAL THUNDER BLOG, ROADIE CREW MAG, ARTE METAL BLOG and CANGAÇO RÁDIO ROCK.

The first Bob Kayli recording, "Everyone Was There," came out in 1958. Berry leased it to Carlton Records and it sold well until Kayli made personal appearances and the public discovered he was black. Record sales screeched to a halt, and Berry didn't receive any further requests for appearances. He worked at the Post Office until Motown started hitting on all cylinders. He left the government job for an entry-level position in Motown's engineering department. He didn't record again until the November 1961 single "Small Sad Sam" (b/w "Tie Me Tight"), an answer to Jimmy Dean's "Big Bad John" that failed upon release. Motown didn't release any more Bob Kayli recordings. When his sister Loucye died in the mid-'60s, he became the head of Jobete Music, and apparently ran the publishing company like a military platoon. |

Search | Add | 8 | Black Nivea | Black Nivea (Mk. I), a bunch of decidedly dilettant noise makers, formed in mid 1989. After a handful of at times chaotic local gigs (imagine a mix of early Germs and Flipper) the original group disbanded at the end of 1991. But in 1994 Black Nivea (Mk. II) came together around the key players of Screaming Joe, Big Rolf and Haax. They went on for another 10 years this time, rarely performing in public, but self-releasing the one or other record, all of which were - rightfully? - ignored by the public. In 1996 they released a great 7´´ as Pächter der Weisheit, original Black Nivea songs translated to German lyrics.

Search | Add | 8 | Joy Peck | Adapted from the Age's obituary: Joy Peck (9 Oct 1928 - 3 Feb 2008) was one of Australia's more notable naive painters. The daughter of a craftsman, she was born in Ballarat but grew up with her sisters Val and Bernice in Warrnambool. As a child she suffered from allergies, which kept her away from school: this left her with a sense of the fragility of life, but also with a great love of it. She sang in public, danced, and later gave memorable parties. But her great love soon became painting. Peck was trained by Sir William Dargie at the National Gallery School, and her canvases soon abounded in strong colours, mists, and children and child-like faces. The critic Phillip Adams once observed: "Joy appears to live in a world without war, aggression or cruelty, where affection would be as luxuriant as foliage, where the very light would be infused with love." If earlier in life her painting had been partly in denial, as she aged it was more in a spirit of rebuttal. Peck was concerned about the injustices of the world — perhaps more so after visiting the ruins of a village in France that the Nazis had vengefully destroyed, killing everybody in it. Sometimes the darker element crept into her painting: there is a swirling, elemental terror evident in her Loch Ard series, in which she painted the famous shipwreck. And for someone so much at home in the fantastic, her portraits could be surprisingly gritty. Peck exhibited from 1960 until 1997 in Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane as well as in a number of Melbourne galleries, including Realities, Manyung, and the South Yarra and Eltham galleries. Significantly, she was asked to submit work for the 1978 Biennale in Limoges. This French city, where she lived for some months, is the world centre for enamelling, a craft much more developed in the francophone world than elsewhere. Later she exhibited at another enamellists' biennale in Quebec. Lively and colourful, Peck is associated with two bohemian moments — Eltham in the 1950s and '60s, and Fitzroy from the 1970s to the '90s. In Eltham, she and her husband, Hal, were part of a circle that included Tim and Betty Burstall, Clifton Pugh and other artists. Barry Humphries had a walk-on part. Down the hill lived John and Inga Clendinnen. Many people found their way to the Pecks' ample, mud-brick house; among them was a young schoolboy, Phillip Adams. Peck was an early encourager, and he remained a lifelong friend. For the last 25 years of her life, Peck set up her easel on a cast-iron balcony overlooking Moor Street, Fitzroy. In her long dresses, picture hat and flashes of purple and green, she was often seen on the arm of her son Marcus, going out for coffee. She died of died from cancer at St Vincent's Hospital at the age of 79.
