Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 8 | Eddy Akridge | Eddy Akridge | Courage and determination helped earn Eddy Akridge his fourth world bareback riding championship. The cowboy, born Jan. 8, 1929, in Pampa, Texas, had rolled to three consecutive world titles in the early 1950s before suffering a potentially career-ending knee injury. Ignoring his doctors’ advice to quit rodeo, he went on to have his best season ever. Akridge later reinjured his knee and was forced to retire. At the same time, he gave up his seat as bareback riding director on the PRCA Board of Directors. He wore a heavy brace for two years. But in 1959, Akridge decided to pursue a fourth world title. He retired the brace, endured the pain, and in 1961 captured his fourth world title. World championships: 4 (1953-55, 1961) Born January 8, 1929 in Pampa, Texas Died July 25, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada |

Soon after, he contributed art on EODM's 2nd album "Death By Sexy" and Queens of the Stone Age's 4th album "Lullabies To Paralyze" (his drawing of a forest was also used as the stage back drop for that tour which can be seen on the live QOTSA DVD release "Over the Years and Through the Woods"). In 2006 he began teaching himself how to screen print and since then he has designed and printed a number of EODM related gig-posters that also feature acts like The Strokes, The Hives, Peaches, Sweethead, Mondo Generator and others. In 2012 he provided new sticker label art for the vinyl re-pressing of Fatso Jetson's classic album "Toasted", and also designed their summer European tour poster and T-shirt. Most recently he collaborated with Jesse Hughes, Josh Homme and photographer Chapman Baehler, to design the art for EODM's 1st new album in 7 years "Zipper Down" to be released Oct 2, 2015.

Search | Add | 8 | Jon Alkalay | Growing up in Brazil and later moving to Austin, TX, exposed me to so many different influences.... but it all started at home, my dad was a classical music aficionado and wonderful baritone and my mom, who immigrated from Portugal, continues singing Fados beautifully. Besides these huge influences, I grew up listening to different Latin, American and European pop, rock and EDM, which is all reflected in the music I make. But my main inspiration are the 80s synthpop bands such as Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Duran Duran... I moved to the US in 2000 in the midst of the music industry collapsing due to all piracy and internet, which ended up forcing me to take a new direction in life. After many years in the corporate world, I decided it was time to let my music come out and live my dream. By the way, that is what my first single is about, Putting Myself First!

Search | Add | 8 | UFe | If you ask him about his love for music, UFe is a man of few words. But, then again, any artist speaks through his means of artistic expression. In his case, UFe manifests himself as an explosion of diverse musical influences and genres that create a unique style which resists easy categorization. From the ancestral rhythms of Africa and the tropical sounds of Latin America, to the jazz and funk breaks that made the foundation of hip hop, plus some of the electronic music currently enjoying a vogue, many elements have helped shape his style into an admirably eclectic music. He blends this vastly diversified repertoire into his own sound and expresses it into his own idiom with imaginative synthesis that makes the listening a vigorous and exciting experience. UFe is also an accomplished producer, experiments with percussion and is currenly inloved in live projects such as Kosmic Blues and Groove Hug.

Starting as a female-fronted band, the band released its first full-lenght record Last Poem in 2013. Leaning towards modern hard rock sound with focus on melodic vocal lines and catchy choruses the band promoted the album on various gigs around their homeland. The next year brought another significant line-up change, this time behind the microphone. With the new singer Peter the band switched their style to more heavy metal approach with occasional harsh vocals and breakdowns. In 2019 Slight Lie recorded their second album Countdown with very positive feedback both from fans and reviewers.

Search | Add | 8 | John William Burrows | John William Burrows was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He loved the piano and took to playing before he was school-age, around the age of four. His mother was a pianist and recognized the talent of her young son, nurturing that talent all the way through John's high school years. John Burrows served his country during the Korean conflict. He was not shipped to Korea but instead was sent to post World War Two Germany where he served as a chaplain's assistant. While serving, he had the opportunity to apply his musical skills, and began to explore the keyboard. Returning stateside, he was accepted at the Crane School of Music at Potsdam, New York. As an applied piano student of James Ball, John received the coveted Senior Recital Award with graduation. A career of teaching music in public schools in the state of New York was followed by a period of self exploration and travel abroad and across the United States and Canada. A romantic man, John Burrows loved the music of the great European composers of the 19th century Romantic period. One of his favorite journeys was tracing the life of Chopin. John prided himself on his athletic ability and well as his dedication to his beloved instrument. His daily routine included long distance running, tennis, golf, ice hockey, hiking or skiing. This was always preceded by two hours of practice that included his favorite Russian exercises and running scales and arpeggios up and down the keyboard. Afternoons and evenings, Mr. Burrows was back at the piano, either performing or working out his pieces. Mr. Burrows passed away in November of 2012.

Search | Add | 8 | Street Barrel Organ | A barrel organ (also called roller organ or crank organ) is a mechanical musical instrument consisting of bellows and one or more ranks of pipes housed in a case, usually of wood, and often highly decorated. The basic principle is the same as a traditional pipe organ, but rather than being played by an organist, the barrel organ is activated either by a person turning a crank, or by clockwork driven by weights or springs. The pieces of music are encoded onto wooden barrels (or cylinders), which are analogous to the keyboard of the traditional pipe organ. A person (or in some cases, a trained animal) which plays a barrel organ is known as an organ grinder. These organs were sometimes called Street Barrel Organs due to their portability and were often heard in various locations. Please use this artist for records which simply credit "Street Barrel Organ" as the artist

His family included brother Morris Loewenstern and sister Julia Loewenstern Glick. They moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1929. Hugo was given his first saxophone at the age of six. A child prodigy on sax and clarinet, he won first honors in national competitions and at age 9 was featured in Ripley’s Believe It Or Not for memorizing 76 classical compositions. An Amarillo High School graduate, he trained at the Eastman School of Music. Hugo toured extensively with the famous big bands of Jack Teagarden, Harry James, Tommy Dorsey and Sonny Burke appearing as a soloist, on the Burke Orchestra’s recording of Ella Fitzgerald 1951. In between gigs, he returned to Amarillo to lead his own band at the Nat, the Avalon, and the Aviatrix. He married Mary Lou Parr in 1951. Years before as a teenager, she’d danced to the music of the bandleader on stage who would later become her future husband of sixty-five years. Eventually settling in Amarillo, Hugo joined his father and brother in the family business, Hugo H Loewenstern Real Estate Co. In 1943, Hugo joined the armed services and was in the Air Force Band, then later transferred to the Infantry until his discharge in 1946. He volunteered his band to the community, including the Lake Tanglewood (Amarillo, Texas) 4th of July celebrations, and nursing homes with singer wife Mary Lou. His professional career saw a solo album for Capitol Records, Who Said Good Music Is Dead, with the late composer Johnny Richards, who wrote original pieces for Hugo including The Magic of Arabis, which he performed as guest artist with the Amarillo Symphony in 1966. He continued musical associations with trumpeter, Doc Severinsen, Laurindo Almeida and others. Amarillo saw performances with friends and family in a newly formed jazz group. He was a founding member of the Amarillo Woodwind Quintet. The recording Music for Art, features songs by daughter, Tara Hugo and album sleeve artwork by Mary Lou. In 2001, KACV public television (Amarillo, Texas) produced the documentary "That Alto Man" celebrating his life and career. |
