Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Lucas Morton Lucas is a full-time producer/session player based out of Nashville, TN. A back-woods, middle Tennessee native, Lucas enjoys the simple pleasures of fishing, drinking copious amounts of tea, and waking up at the crack of dawn to get a head start on the day - just to name a few. Lucas spends most of his time producing, recording and writing with artists and production companies over a wide span of genres. He also supports artists on the road as a touring bassist, keyboardist, or auxiliary musician. Live credits include Jordy Searcy, Jill Andrews, Crystal Bowersox, Hush Kids, Sandra McCracken, Joy Oladokun, Mat Kearney, Matthew Perryman Jones, Jonathon Jircitano, Brave Town, Matthew Smith & Indelible Grace and many more. In November 2020, Lucas joined the Art House Nashville family. About 20 minutes west of Downtown Nashville, nestled on the banks of the Harpeth River, the Art House is a beautiful place of retreat and rest for artists and creatives. The former studio of producer Charlie Peacock, the Art House has produced multiple award-winning records including The Civil Wars: Barton Hollow, Switchfoot: Learning to Breathe, and many more. A collective workspace built with a purpose of fostering tight-knit creative interaction and synergy, the Art House has been a wonderful place to explore the bounds of art for years and has become an excellent home for Lucas’ studio.

Little is known about him, save that he appears to have been active in Austria and in the present-day Czech Republic and Slovakia. According to New Grove, in 1758, he was a Pauline monk in the Maria-Trost monastery near Graz. KYZR made a final contribution to The 7 Adventure with animator Egon de Regt by connecting all animated videos, bringing it into one story, accompanied by a ten minute soundtrack, blending orchestra into the electronic music of the Album. As a result, 'The 7 Adventure' was released as an Animated Short Film that came along with the first album of the brothers. Remix Series During the journey of their debut KYZR met various producers. New collabs have blossomed and led to a series of remixes. These reworks in different styles were released one by one in 2020, gathered in the Spotify playlist called Night Adventures. The Time is Right In the beginning of Covid (early spring 2020) the brothers were asked by promotor Maverick Events to write a retro disco song with strong female vocals. In this project KYZR worked with several artists from the US to make it happen: Chevon Coleman (leadvocals & gospelarrangement), Lauryn & Simone Wilson (gospelvocals) and Will Allen jr. (trombone, trumpets, French Horn). The track will be released soon. The Second Album After their father passed away in the fall of 2019, the brothers found new ways and inspiration for new material. Digging deeper and sketching songs from the heart, KYZR is now working on more than 20 cinematic, pop/rock orientated tracks, again with Erik Frisberg. The album will probably be released in the spring of 2023. Source: https://www.kyzrmusic.com/

Search Add 2 Nathu Buwa Nathu Buwa Amravatikar Nathu Buwa Amravatikar Birth - circa 1895, Death – 1944 - A biographical note written by Dr Chaitanya Kunte, Pune, India (keshavchaitanya@gmail.com) Nathhu Buwa Amaravatikar belongs to a family of musicians who practiced Kathak dance and Tabla. The family hailed from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. His elder brother Tularam was a Tabla player. Nathu Buwa came to Amravati when he was 8-years old. He was called as ‘Nathu Buwa Amravatikar’ or ‘Nathu Buwa Tawde’. He started learning music with Namdev Buwa Amravatikar who in turn was a disciple of Ustad Maula Baksh of Baroda state. Nathu Buwa had a high pitched, sonorous and flexible voice. Upon Namdev Buwa’s demise in 1926, Nathu Buwa started ‘Namdev Buwa Prasadik Gayan Samaj’, a music school in the memory of his Guru, in Amaravati. Around 1932, he came to Mumbai and joined ‘Yashvant Sangeet Natak Mandali’ of Shankar Rao Sarnaik. He acted in a few plays. But soon left the theater company. During 1932 to 1935, he was a regular broadcaster on Bombay Radio. He started a music school in Charni road area of Mumbai called ‘Aryan Music College’. But he left Mumbai for concert tours, with giving charge of this music school to his nephew, Dattoba Tawde. Dattoba ran this music school for many years, but with the name ‘Adarsh Sangeet Vidyalaya’. Nathu Buwa used to visit Ujjain, Indore, Aheri state, Parva state for yearly concerts on some special occasions. Around 1935-36, Nathu Buwa left Mumbai for concerts and returned to Amaravati. Soon after that, he shifted to Nagpur. He started ‘National Music College’, a music school situated at Aluwala building in Sitabardi area of Nagpur. He published a book ‘Sangeet Sadhana’ in 1944. His major disciples in the Vidarbha were Dattoba Tawde (nephew), Prahlad Kolhapure, Namdev Varekar, Mahadev Patil, Gajanan Kothekar, Madhusudan Tamhankar. Nathu Buwa suffered from Pyorrhea and was admitted to Mayo Hospital in Nagpur, where he passed away in 1944. He has cut 78 rpm shellac records on Broadcast & Columbia labels around 1937-1940 References: 1. Mangarulkar, N. R. (1976). Vaidarbhiya Sangeetkar – Part 2. Vijaya Mangarulkar, Nagpur. 2. Search Add 2 Scott Hrabko Scott Hrabko is an independent songwriter with roots going back to Kansas City's indie rock scene of the late ‘80s, with his first bands, The Andersons and The Splinters. The Splinters would go on to play the role of local songwriting legend Howard Iceberg's first backing band, The Titanics, as well as a gig with a not-yet-famous Iris Dement. Hrabko headed back to his old hometown, St. Louis, and shortly thereafter to Chicago -- where he led a completely revamped version of The Andersons -- and then Austin. He finally came full circle, back to KC in 1997, raising a family and maintaining a connection to the music scene, playing and singing and drinking with KC’s oldest garage band, The Original Sinners -- until the urge to write songs again became too powerful to dismiss. In 2010 he began venturing out to clubs with a new batch of solo, acoustic songs. It took him long enough, but he finally released his debut solo album, Gone Places in November, 2013 -- a set of funny and poignant songs of love and failure, scattered across the haunted American landscape. Hot on the heels of that release came Biscuits & Gravity in January, 2015, recorded with the first incarnation of The Rabbits (Josh Arnold - Bass & Harmony Vocals; Emily Tummons - Harmony Vocals, Accordion & Ukulele, and Kirk Scott - Lead Guitar). Hrabko’s third album, Summer, was released in June, 2017, featuring a reborn Rabbits lineup, including former Hadacol founding brother, Fred Wickham - Lead Guitar; Marco Pascolini - Steel Guitar and Baritone Guitar, and Tim Higgins - Drums, along with guest spots by local luminaries. Jason Beers joined the Rabbits on bass shortly after the album was completed. Hrabko released a 4-song EP, Smash Hits From A Parallel Universe in February, 2019, and then a series of singles; Becky and Rosie (instrumentals), Pretty Good Day, Dog In The Backyard, Free, and In Lieu Of Flowers. The songs branch out into stylistic territory affectionately recalling Hrabko's youth in 1970s suburban St. Louis. The Last Dance EP landed, unexpectedly, during a time of pandemic and social unrest in the summer of 2020. With its synthesizers, drum machines, and rhythms from experimental Kraut rock and hip hop, it was a pronounced departure from Hrabko's twangy past.

Search Add 2 Dinosaur Dragonfly Noise/Experimental project from the Canadian Prairie, currently located in Treaty One territory, in what some refer to as Winnipeg, Manitoba. First appearing in 2012 releasing singles on SoundCloud. Early material focused on guitar-based noise, harsh chop'n'screw remixes, and improvised mixes. Solo efforts continued through 2015, including a now lost Demo EP, Nice Solo Prog Metal Bedroom Project You Fucking Piece of Shit. Through the period of 2015-'17, Dinosaur Dragonfly evolved as a duo, existing primarily as a Live act in Saskatoon, SK. The group's self-titled debut full length arrived on Valentine's Day, 2017 through Grade School Records. The album is a 5 year retrospective, featuring early solo tracks previously released on Soundcloud, and a 45 minute mashup of Live sets as a duo. Dinosaur Dragonfly continued to perform solo through 2017-'18, making its first international appearance in Fargo, ND as a supporting act for [a=Machine Girl]. An unofficial indefinite hiatus tasted from the fall of 2018-spring of 2020, when the project began releasing material sporadically on compilations and limited live streams. A Split-Tape Series has been announced for 2021, with the first release expected at the end of January.
