Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 13 | Bradley G | Bradley Green | British DJ/Producer, co-founder of [l=FTD Records], son of [a339122] He began his career as a guitarist in a band called "Destiny" who played the London club scene in the mid 1990s. Bradley G went on to found the band [a=Wizkid (2)] who produced and played with experimental forms of dance music to club goers in and around London. In 1997 Bradley G established "Eastside Studios" with partner, House music producer and DJ Colin Russell, in a new purpose built complex above the popular nightclub "Harlequins" in Ilford, east London. The Harlequins nightclub is rumoured to be one of the places where the popular UK music genre "Garage music" is thought to have originated.[citation needed] Eastside ran until 1998 when Bradley G formed FTD Records and built the "Skylight Studios" with Tony Ruby in the same building complex. In late 1999 the "Skylight Studios" moved to a converted house in East London, renamed "The Attic" and ran for a further three years. In 2002, "The Attic" moved to its final location, "Ferry Lane" Studios in Rainham, Essex. Bradley G’s most successful release was “Sweetheart”, released on Valentine’s day (Feb 14th) 2001 This track was number 1 in the garage charts for 11 weeks . The record was distributed by FTD Records in association with the then popular pirate radio station Erotic 101.3FM. In late 2002, nearly a year after release Bradley G issued a repress of "Sweetheart" limited to 1,000 copies. These final copies were numbered FTD0001 – FTD1001 and sold out within one hour of going to market. Bradley G also performed a UK tour of Sweetheart with Jennifer O’Kane and MC Sel at the height of the tracks fame. In March, April and May 2001 they performed in excess of 100 live PA’s at many UK & worldwide club venues. Bradley G finally left UK Garage in 2004 and went on to produce a mainstream band lead by Charlotte Jackson at Ferry Lane Studios. Bradley dismissed Charlotte and the project after a lengthy argument with third party publishing company who refused to allow the use of a song they had already recorded. In 2013 Bradley decided to start up his own franchise of https://www.greenssteakhouse.com/ where he is also executive chef. |

Search | Add | 13 | Yun Young Ah | 윤영아 | Yun Young Ah (윤영아) born November 13, 1972, is a South Korean singer, who rose to fame in the early 90s with the song 미니 데이트 (Minidate), which is her most popular song up to date. Her well known song "Minidate" is a cover from a Taiwanese movie soundtrack called “Wolf 7” in the late 80s. The song was originally recorded in Mandarin by Jin Yulan, then a Korean version was recorded by Seoul Family in 1989. After winning the Grand Prize in the 1990 KBS Youth Creative Song Festival for her song "오선지에 그리는 슬픔", Minidate was presented to her and was recorded for her debut album in 1991, along with 2 other tracks from the Wolf 7 soundtrack. Following the success of her first album, Young Ah released the albums “Out Door” (1993) and “A Sexy Glance” (1995). After taking a break from the music industry, Young Ah made a comeback in early 2007 within the Korean trot genre. Two new singles “오빠” and “빨리와” were released. Shortly, The First Single Album was released, having “빨리와” as the title track, and which includes new tracks and a new version of Minidate, in a Samba infused Trot style. In early 2008, the album received a reissue called “오빠 사랑해”, having the song revamped to suit more of the trot genre and became the title track for the reissue. It received promotion until late 2008. Young Ah then left the music industry, and continued to perform in various events such as fashion and theatre shows. In 2020, Young Ah made a comeback, appearing on the show "Sing Again" in South Korea as contestant #50. New singles were released such as Minidate 2021, Baby Baby, and Magic Woman. Young Ah is currently active in the music scene, performing and recording new music for her fans and audience. |

Search | Add | 13 | Charlie Aldrich | Charles Aldrich | Born June, 3 1918. They called him "Walkin' Talkin'" Charlie Aldrich. He was a native of Ogawam, Oklahoma, a suburb about 25 miles from Bradley, Oklahoma. He came by that nickname rather naturally, felt everyone was his neighbor and was constantly 'walkin' and talkin' with anyone he'd meet. He was six foot two, smiling blue-green eyed, light brown haired and was talented as an emcee, guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and known for his sincertiy towards the public. Charlie worked hard to get his first guitar. He got it by milking enough cows on his mother's farm during the 1932 depression to buy a $3.98 guitar. His mother was his first teacher. And hard work and music stayed with him during those early years growing up. Later, he'd pick cotton all day long for 15 cents and then drive 30 miles to a country theater to see a Gene Autry movie, his first inspiration. Around 1946, Charlie got his honorable discharge from the Navy. From there he went to work as an assistant salesman for a dry goods chain store, where he got promoted quickly to head salesman. For about three years, Charlie had a band in Oklahoma and broadcasted over the CBS network with a show called "Oklahoma Roundup". Then, he went out west to California where he started working with Spade Cooley, the western swing king. Then, he became part of Cliffie Stone's Hometown Jamboree group that broadcast over KXLA and KLAC-TV out of El Monte, California. He also worked with T. Texas Tyler and Tony Martin a various points at that time, too. But along came 1951 and his popularity soared. He came out with a tune called "Walkin' The Guitar Strings" and it became his curtain call. That got him his own show on KTTV and was said to be getting over 200,000 pieces of mail a year. His songs were being published by the famed Acuff-Rose company and also the Tannen Music Company. He had three radio programs, five days a week on top of his daily television show. And if that didn't keep him busy enough, he owned and operated a music studio in Burbank, California. If he had any time left, he did personal appearances. He had a horse that may have been part of his personal appearances. It was called Ranger and was said to be a hit with the kids. Ranger could do 45 various types of stunts. And had had a quarter million kids climb on his back during a two year period. And he kept adding to his musical skills while he was in California. He got a degree for classical guitar music form the Los Angeles Conservatory of Music |

Search | Add | 13 | Ceasar K | Cesar Kahwagi | Ceasar K is a DJ, Producer, Label owner, turntablist and record collector from Beirut City. The pioneer of the Breakbeat genre in both Lebanon and the Middle East since the late 90s, Ceasar is today an in-demand remixer and producer with numerous releases on reputable record labels worldwide as well as on his own,‘Vibe Lebanon Records’. Vibe Lebanon is an indepedant EDM entity based in Beirut which is home for an internet radio, a record label as well as an online dance music shop. Winner of the 2004 Heineken Found at Thirst DJ Competition and later on a Jury member in that same competition, he has performed throughout Lebanon, the Middle East, Europe and the USA either as a DJ, a live act or a turntablist. His sets stand out as being highly original and technical with a touch of old school that also reflects in his music, which often carries subtle influences from both the 80s and the 90s. His love for the old school and true DJing culture has also led him to open alongside some of his friends sharing the same passion, the first bar in the middle east dedicated to playing strictly vinyl records--Flipside is the place to be for all record collectors, vinyl DJs and everyone that is passionate about the best music format of all times. Ceasar is also behind another unique concept venue in Beirut ‘The Silver Fatcory’ which is a real operating silverware factory in which he hosts underground events on a regular basis—back to the basics—a purely industrial venue with just an earth shattering sound system and a bar. |

Search | Add | 13 | Nona Yotova | Нона Йотова | Nona Yotova is an actress, singer, poetess, composer of music and a TV presenter. She is among the first to start composing and performing ethno music, which is now already very modern. Her first album with arrangements by Ivan Lechev was produced in 1993 and ever since it has outlined her original, distinctive and unique style, the roots of which lie in the history and mythology of the Bulgarian land. Unlike those, who are satisfied only with using folklore motives and are considered to be ethno performers only because they are singing folk songs with a new arrangement, Nona has penetrated a lot deeper in the so called ethno mystic and it is from there that she derives the motives and the inspiration to write her music. This is also due to the fact that she has inherited her talent from several generations of musicians. It is not mere chance that the archaeological TV show she is the presenter of on Channel 1 of the Bulgarian National Television is called "Terra Incognita". When the musicologist Rose Mary Statelova plays Nona's songs to her students, one of them says that most probably this is the way the wood-nymphs sing. The a cappella version of the song "I'll be begging you", which has been in the Bulgarian National Radio's fund since 1993 is even considered by some people to be a folk song, which is in itself the greatest recognition for a composer and performer. Nona's song "Macedonian Flamenco" has been included in the music textbooks since 2006. Some of the best Bulgarian musicians like Ivan Lechev, Dani Milev, Mihail Shishkov, Kalin Velyov, Mihail Yosifov, Valchan Valchanov and from time to time Teodosy Spasov as a special guest perform in "Nona Band". And finally what is Nona's style? It could be called ethno jazz, New Age Wave and probably the easiest way to name it is World Music. |

Search | Add | 13 | Grimm Jack | The Grimm Jack story began in 1985 with guitarist Jimmie Mack and drummer Dave Leeds, two Long Island rockers who joined forces to create a contemporary rock band with an edge. Original members included vocalist Robin DesForges, guitarist Rich Daly, and bassist Sean O’Neill. The group released their first single “Janet”, on the independent label CYN CITY RECORDS in 1986. The following year brought the release of a five-song EP entitled GO FOR YOUR GUNS, which gained airplay on radio outside the New York metro area. By 1988, Grimm Jack shifted into full throttle; original vocalist Robin DesForges departed and was replaced by singer Billy Kohout. Bassist Scott Bittner was on board, and the group started gaining national recognition with the release of their next EP, PARTNERS IN CRIME. This recording featured the songs “One Track Mind” and “Shy Boy”, both which gained a steady amount of airplay on various rock radio stations, especially in the south and mid-Atlantic regions. Legendary music publications such as CIRCUS and HIT PARADER gave Grimm Jack’s PARTNERS IN CRIME very positive reviews during 1988, and the group was also featured prominently in numerous regional and local magazines nationwide. In early 1989, Daly and Bittner chose to part company with Grimm Jack and guitarist Tom Lestat and bassist Paul Vassa were brought into the band. With this lineup in place, Grimm Jack forged ahead to create a respectable reputation based on energetic live performances and high caliber songs that fans still remember today.

Search | Add | 13 | Dean G Smith | Dean G. Smith aka Deangersmith (born 11 February 1969) is a South African–born musician and vocalist based in London, UK. His primary instrument is guitar and vocals although he began his career in Johannesburg, South Africa as a drummer and vocalist in the thrash metal band Ragnärok. He is the founding member of several South African and UK heavy metal bands from mid 80's to present day, including Ragnärok, Odyssey, 2 Dogs Funking, Brothering, PijinFist, Mouthful of Flies and Philistine. He appeared as guest vocals for The Blast and played rhythm guitar for the female fronted rock band Balance. He was the creator, producer and host of the radio show, The Metal and Hard Rock from Africa Show for Diligaf Radio. Inspired by AC/DC and Metallica in his teens, Dean founded the thrash metal band Ragnärok as drummer and vocalist in 1986. They were considered the initiators of Thrash Metal in South Africa ahead of the burgeoning metal and hard rock scene in-spite of the political climate. The band unofficially released one demo album in 1989, Troops of Thunder. During this time Dean was also guest vocals on The Blast’s 1988 self released two track 7" as lead vocalist on Little Sister and backing on Not Quite The Same Thing, recorded at Universal Studios. Their demo album was re-released as a CDR in 2018 due to new demand from fans in Europe. From 1991 onwards Dean played guitar in the band Odyssey, was lead vocalist and rhythm guitar in the band 2 Dogs Funking, founded Brothering as lead vocals and guitar in 1997, winning the Battle of the Bands. He toured extensively around Southern Africa with these bands. Projects during that time include Pijinfist and the female fronted rock band, Balance. In the UK in 2004, Dean founded Mouthful of Flies as guitarist and backing vocalist with Dan Stevenson from Fallout and Bloodstone as lead vocals and guitars. The band released Ten Negative Sixes in 2007. The album received excellent reviews by Malcolm Dome in Metal Hammer, Kerrang and all major Metal magazines, and they played numerous London venues throughout 2008 and 2009. From 2013 to 2014 Dean produced and hosted The Metal and Hard Rock from Africa Show for Diligaff Radio as a way to showcase African metal and hard rock to a wider audience. In his own words, "African bands generally have a huge struggle with regards to internet access and bandwidth issues and publicity, my aim was to get them on Radio and expose them to a wider audience, Dilligaf has an extensive fan base and provided the perfect platform to expose these bands to listeners from all over the world.” From 2010 onwards Dean has released solo albums under the name Deangersmith. Deangersmith’s latest album, Lead Us To Your Taker (Disable The Corrupt) contains ten songs released over 2020 and 2021, with the complete album available worldwide on all platforms on 25th September 2021. Originally inspired by the political climate in the world, much of his song writing on this album is driven by themes of Equality and somewhat influenced by the current Pandemic.

Search | Add | 13 | Julien Jalâl Al-Din Weiss | Bernard Weis | Alsatian by his father, Swiss by his mother, Bernard Weiss was born in Paris in 1953 and died in Paris January 02, 2015. In the beginning of the Seventies, like many of teenagers of his generation, this guitarist of western classical formation (he entered the " Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris " in 1965) calls in question the values of the Western culture and started to hit the road of the trip. His voyages took him to California, to Morocco, then to the Antilles; that opened his cultural horizons and was given the name Julien by a young Venezuellian woman, Isabelle Sotto, daugther of the founder of kinetic art. When return to France in 1974, he composed several plays for the traditional guitar, and took part in a creation of the Tunisian director Sharif Allaoui. In 1976 in Paris, during a reception at the future minister of the Egyptian culture, Farouk Hosni, the listening to a disc of the Iraqi musician Mounir Bachir, large main of Oud (Oriental lute captivated him so much so that he gave up the traditional guitar and the jazz harmonies to launch out body and soul in the study of the Arab lute and the refined laws governing the Oriental micro tonal music. But very quickly, the limits of the instrument frustrated him and when he discovered the richnesses offered by the Oriental zither " the qanûn " the search of Julien Weiss took all its dimensions. Consequently he crossed the Orient, from Tunis to Beirut, Baghdad to Cairo, Istanbul to Damas, he followed the teaching of great Masters. Thus he became the disciple then the friend of Mounir Bachir in the honor of whom later he composed a " Bagdadian Suite " interpreted at the time of the Festival of Babylon in Iraq. |

Search | Add | 13 | Hair Peace Salon | Hair Peace Salon is considered one of the most celebrated indie-rock & power-pop bands in Belarus. The band was formed in 1998. They are a former stage of Bristeil, having over 15 years on the scene path with mostly English language songs. In 2012 the band released the first full LP 'Gentleman', which received positive feedback from music fans and experts. The band members have no hurry to making music. The guys are still young and still having fun: self progress + satisfaction. :) Since 2007 the band has won several awards of rock-n-roll contests, their songs are constantly on-air. The band has taken part in many TV and live radio-shows and hooked a lot of festivals in Belarus and abroad. In mass media their music is described like entwined desperate energy with romantic notes of melancholy and sadness filled deep lyrics with soul uneasiness and plaintive hope for happiness. The music is intense, but melodic and lyrics are a kind of anthem to nobility, firmness and generosity with a bit of self irony and eccentricity. Hair Peace Salon music is imbued with absolutely perceptible emotions, a hook will be hardly to make a jump off from. :)

Baconsson | Keys, Synthesizers, Voice Otto Løfgren | Synthesizers, Voice, Programming WE ARE DIAMOND FUCKIN’ KOBRA Back in 1984 Elin & Emeli-Sofi Lundin from Sweden started a band they named Diamond Kobra. As they had no recording equipment, they tried to figure out a way to get their music on tape. One night they had the chance to get into the Nightingale Studios for small money after the session of another group. They jammed the whole night and recorded a demo tape. Unfortunately a week later the studio was destroyed by a winter storm. It was rebuilt the same year by a new owner and the demo went into a provisional archive with the other remaining material from the studio. In 2017, 34 years later, Rögnvaldr Nyström bought the studio and found the Diamond Kobra demotracks. He remembered the last name on the tape: Lundin and asked his friend Otto Løfgren, who had married a woman from the Lundin family. It turned out his wife Ida was the aunt of the girls. Løfgren is a talented programmer and tech nerd and his friend Bjørn Bors Baconsson has a studio with a tape machine. As they heard the Diamond Kobra tape they knew they had to make an album out of it. It sounded like pure joy from the ’80s. They teamed up with their friends and fellow musicians to bring the music back to life and make an album out of it. The sound from the 1984 recordings was great electronical music that had its own beautiful sound. It was time to add more vicious synthesizers and ripping guitars to blend it all into what Diamond Kobra does best: High-Voltage Darksynth Baconsson, who comes from a film scoring background, wrote a story for the album. A vision about a far future in which each song is one chapter of a novel. The characters and their story came together in the concept album which also contains soundtrack elements. The project began in early 2018 when recordings started in Sweden, Denmark, Germany and USA. Løfgren and Baconsson were extremely happy when outstanding musicians like [a288132] of [a262577], [a3895091] of [a291496], K.D. Johansen of Supercharger and the famous Amott Brothers: [a309929] & [a579681] joined for the album production. The cover artwork was done by well-known movie poster artist Tom Hodge of The Dude Designs.
