Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 13 Bradley G Bradley Green British DJ/Producer, co-founder of [l=FTD Records], son of [a339122] He began his career as a guitarist in a band called "Destiny" who played the London club scene in the mid 1990s. Bradley G went on to found the band [a=Wizkid (2)] who produced and played with experimental forms of dance music to club goers in and around London. In 1997 Bradley G established "Eastside Studios" with partner, House music producer and DJ Colin Russell, in a new purpose built complex above the popular nightclub "Harlequins" in Ilford, east London. The Harlequins nightclub is rumoured to be one of the places where the popular UK music genre "Garage music" is thought to have originated.[citation needed] Eastside ran until 1998 when Bradley G formed FTD Records and built the "Skylight Studios" with Tony Ruby in the same building complex. In late 1999 the "Skylight Studios" moved to a converted house in East London, renamed "The Attic" and ran for a further three years. In 2002, "The Attic" moved to its final location, "Ferry Lane" Studios in Rainham, Essex. Bradley G’s most successful release was “Sweetheart”, released on Valentine’s day (Feb 14th) 2001 This track was number 1 in the garage charts for 11 weeks . The record was distributed by FTD Records in association with the then popular pirate radio station Erotic 101.3FM. In late 2002, nearly a year after release Bradley G issued a repress of "Sweetheart" limited to 1,000 copies. These final copies were numbered FTD0001 – FTD1001 and sold out within one hour of going to market. Bradley G also performed a UK tour of Sweetheart with Jennifer O’Kane and MC Sel at the height of the tracks fame. In March, April and May 2001 they performed in excess of 100 live PA’s at many UK & worldwide club venues. Bradley G finally left UK Garage in 2004 and went on to produce a mainstream band lead by Charlotte Jackson at Ferry Lane Studios. Bradley dismissed Charlotte and the project after a lengthy argument with third party publishing company who refused to allow the use of a song they had already recorded. In 2013 Bradley decided to start up his own franchise of https://www.greenssteakhouse.com/ where he is also executive chef.
Search Add 13 Dawn Riding Oakland, California While songwriter Sarah Rose Janko was growing up waiting tables & watching blues and rock & roll bands in her Dad’s west coast bar, Jasmyn Wong was learning to drum to Riot grrrl records & dancing her way through the underground SF goth scene, and Hall McCann was in the Northeast practicing harmonies to old country classics & sneaking out of the house. They each went on to live in different cities, find friends & temporary homes, travel long distances for love, learn about heartbreak, and eventually land in Oakland, CA, where the tough, lonesome sound of Dawn Riding was born. Though they grew up in separate realities, the ladies of Dawn Riding were all raised by the unapologetic, inclusive, gritty culture of the underground. It’s one of the only ways to explain how they’re a tough-as-nails country-folk trio who are indisputably more punk rock than Americana, and more southern gothic than country. Together they invoke the dark honesty of Lucinda Williams, the close harmonies of the Everly Brothers, and the hypnotic, dreamy overtones of Mazzy Star – a formidable soundtrack to long nights of slow dancing, and true stories of unknown legends. They make music for their friends, their lovers, and the unyielding spirit of the underdog.

Search Add 13 Sascha Ciccopiedi Influenced by the moods and vibrations of the techno scene at the end of the 90s, the passionate 18 year old Sascha began to work for the producer tandu / ayla for three years. With him he traveled to the thunderous clubs of that time and gradually grew into the scene. The full-time job there drives him as a young sound arranger right into the musical scene! In the reactor, which at that time belonged to one of the trance shops, he quickly earned himself a place as a resident and got involved with key figures like Marc Spoon, DJ Dag ... But always fascinated by the avant-garde of straight, technoid beats - there is only one direction for him: forward and straight ahead! He pursues this passion during his residency in the Jailhouse - which stood for deep, technoid and unstoppable club nights. Sascha Ciccopiedi has remained true to this passion to this day. Technically very strong, he arranges with a lot of passion and respect for the individual tracks - on the basis of 4 decks - sets with recognition value! Nuanced, powerful minimal tracks that drive you and have a strong meditative character distinguish Sascha Ciccopiedi as an unmistakable artist. He strictly refuses to allow himself to be categorized into genre boundaries and their typical grids. In his role as an artist, Sascha Ciccopiedi is absolutely unique and does not need to hide behind a pseudonym. With his real name he signals self-confidence and is committed to his individuality, which is clearly evident in each of his sets and productions. Less is more - Sascha Ciccopiedi! The charismatic and energetic Italian always knows how to convey the fine line between minimalism and monotony in perfect balance in the throbbing rhythm. He stands for passion for music and fills his sets with a lot of emotion without looking at any charts. His sound arrangement is very diverse and varied, consisting of deep, tribal, percussive and soulful, mediative techno.

He started listening to House music, Freestyle, Techno, Funk, Reggae, and other styles of Electronic genre. In 2005 Frank started as a hobby to create his own music. He took on the name "2Touch". This name originated from his honeymoon when he played water volleyball in Mexico and Frank use to touch the volleyball two times and his team mate Lloyd nicknamed Frank as "Two Touch". He worked on his first house single called "Blast Zone". He also finished Techno tracks "Serious Rhythm" and "Insane" and house track "Just House". Frank also experimented with Beat boxing and Techno called "Authentic" which meant all sounds were from Beat boxing and natural sounds mixed together. In 2016 Frank is currently working on his first EP release to add some earlier tracks plus new Acid House tracks. Frank changed his Artist name to "Acidone", from Acetone which is a organic compound that is a colorless, volatile, flammable liquid, combined with "Acid" for Acid House music. In July of 2016, Frank released his first two 12" singles called "Acid Rant" (new track) and "Blacid Storm" (acid mixes of his original 2005 house track "Blast Zone"). He also released first LP called "Acid Man" in June 2017. In July 2017, his artist name has changed again from "Acidone" to "Micrometer". Lately, Frank has been working with Jordan Fields and Adonis in several projects. Check out "Acid Swing". You haven't heard the last of his music yet.

As well as recording solo material under the moniker [a=Wormwood], he teamed with [a=David Khan] and [a=Peter Wright] as part of the industrial rock group leonard Nimoy. During his time with leonard Nimoy, Goodwin introduced many sonic elements and techniques that would eventually be adopted by Khan and Wright in their solo work, including combining metal percussion with electronic rhythms, using amplified bows on electric guitar, and the building of noise-generating electronic devices. Following the demise of leonard Nimoy in 1997, Goodwin worked with Khan and Wright in the gallery-based improv projects Noumenon & Death In A Nasty Accident, but his most significant collaboration was Flinch, where he and Wright created electric guitar chaos which was combined with percussion and vocals from Justine Sharp. In 2001, the next major collaborative kRkRkRk band saw Goodwin join Khan, Ed Wilson and J-mz Robinson in the industrially-flavoured pop band [a=MiG-21]. A more recent collaboration features Goodwin, Khan, and Rustle Covini under the moniker of zer0.

Search Add 13 Diamond Kobra [b]Diamond Kobra is:[/b] B.B. Baconsson | Keys, Synthesizers, Voice Otto Løfgren | Synthesizers, Voice, Programming [b]WE ARE DIAMOND FUCKIN’ KOBRA[/b] Back in 1984 Elin & Emeli-Sofi Lundin from Sweden started a band they named Diamond Kobra.  As they had no recording equipment, they tried to figure out a way to get their music on tape. One night they had the chance to get into the Nightingale Studios for small money after the session of another group.  They jammed the whole night and recorded a demo tape. Unfortunately a week later the studio was destroyed by a winter storm. It was rebuilt the same year by a new owner and the demo went into a provisional archive with the other remaining material from the studio.  In 2017, 34 years later, Rögnvaldr Nyström bought the studio and found the Diamond Kobra demotracks. He remembered the last name on the tape: Lundin and asked his friend Otto Løfgren, who had married a woman from the Lundin family. It turned out his wife Ida was the aunt of the girls. Løfgren is a talented programmer and tech nerd and his friend Bjørn Bors Baconsson has a studio with a tape machine. As they heard the Diamond Kobra tape they knew they had to make an album out of it. It sounded like pure joy from the ’80s. They teamed up with their friends and fellow musicians to bring the music back to life and make an album out of it. The sound from the 1984 recordings was great electronical music that had its own beautiful sound. It was time to add more vicious synthesizers and ripping guitars to blend it all into what Diamond Kobra does best: [b]High-Voltage Darksynth[/b] Baconsson, who comes from a film scoring background, wrote a story for the album. A vision about a far future in which each song is one chapter of a novel. The characters and their story came together in the concept album which also contains soundtrack elements.  The project began in early 2018 when recordings started in Sweden, Denmark, Germany and USA. Løfgren and Baconsson were extremely happy when outstanding musicians like [a288132] of [a262577], [a3895091] of [a291496], K.D. Johansen of Supercharger and the famous Amott Brothers: [a309929] & [a579681] joined for the album production.  The cover artwork was done by well-known movie poster artist Tom Hodge of The Dude Designs.

Founder of [a1747145], chorusmaster Elena Kalugina (January 21, 1902 - 1962) - founder of the Omsk Russian Folk Choir, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, graduate of the Omsk Music College, researcher of the song traditions of the Siberian region, promoter of folk culture. A subtle musician, a multi-talented personality, she will forever remain in history as the founder of a unique professional Russian song group. Elena Kalugina devoted 40 of her 60 years to the development of the musical culture of the region. Here her rare musical talent and organizational skills were revealed. Elena Kalugina graduated with honors from the Omsk Music College in vocal class and three courses at the Correspondence Institute of Musician Teachers at the Moscow Conservatory. She trained as a choir conductor, but the war prevented her from completing her studies. In Omsk, she worked as a singer on the radio, as an accompanist in a choreographic group, led vocal clubs, and was the organizer of several choral groups. She devoted all her teaching talent to the professional training of vocalists and choirmasters, working at the Omsk Music School. Elena Kalugina trained a galaxy of gifted musicians. Almost all honored artists of Russia - singers of the Omsk Folk Choir - are students of Elena Vladimirovna. But the main work of Elena Kalugina’s life, with which she glorified herself and the Omsk region, was the creation of the State Omsk Russian Folk Choir. Having never been involved in folklore before 1950, Elena Vladimirovna managed to make a lot of recordings of Siberian folk songs within a few months and began processing them for the choir. During her trips around her native land, she collected many original songs and dance tunes. Kalugina’s invaluable merit was that in forming the repertoire of the Omsk choir, she did not follow the path of imitation of already known groups, but took as a basis truly Siberian folk art, preserving the original style of song and dance. The name of Kalugina is associated with the emergence of the very concept of “Siberian folk song”. Some researchers denied the presence of an original choral singing culture in Siberia. Through enormous research and collecting activities, Elena Vladimirovna was able to refute such speculation. She was also the first to use a truly innovative technique - a choral performance of a Russian song without a conductor, and this manner was picked up not only in the country, but throughout the world. Over the 10 years of Elena Kalugina’s work in the Omsk choir, the collective has taken a special place among other Russian folk choirs, worthily representing the creativity of our region around the world. Just three years after the creation of the team, its first victory happened - at the World Festival in Bucharest. The Omsk choir won 1st prize and a gold medal, beating 32 competitors from around the world. This victory became the most striking milestone in Elena Kalugina’s creative activity; it opened the international touring life of the choir.

Search Add 13 Disinfected Disinfected firstly formed on November 2th, 1997 in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. The first line up is Adyth Nugraha, Abah Andris, Amenk, Sigit dan Opick. DISINFECTED recorded their first demo live album in 1998 in Reverse Studio, Bandung. This demo album had 4 songs that finally made DISINFECTED being known in metal scenein Bandung. In 1998 DISINFECTED recorded a song for “Independent Rebel”, a compilation made by Independent label, a sub-label of Sony Indonesia. This great distribution record label had made DISINFECTED being more well-known in Indonesia. DISINFECTED then recorded a song for “Brutally Sickness” compilation released by Extreme Souls Production (ESP) in 2000. ESP is the most productive underground record label that has been produces many death metal bands. DISINFECTED released their first full album in 2001by Extreme Souls Production. the album titled “Melted”. This death metal album with full of hate and anger concept had a good feedback from Indonesian underground scene. Opick resigning from the band in 2002 and replaced by Toteng from FORGOTTEN. Later they recorded “Master of Puppets” for Death Militia compilation, released by True Lies Production. Mid-year of 2003, Adyth Nugraha resigned from DISINFECTED since he had to move out from Bandung. DISINFECTED didn’t have any recording since Toteng had been very busy in his other band, FORGOTTEN. Rio (RIP), ex-guitarist of Bloody Gore, replaced Toteng who had to focus on FORGOTTEN. In 2005, DISINFECTED had a mini-album, “Aku Akan Bunuh Kamu”, released by ROTTREVORE RECORDS. This album had a different music than the previous one, but still, this album has gained even greater feedback from Indonesian metal scene back then. In 2006, together with JASAD, FORGOTTEN, and also SIKSAKUBUR recorded a live DVD tape. It was one of the greatest achievements to record a live performing with good sound quality at that time. Abah Andris, which was previously helping BURGERKILL as additional bassist and drummer, resigning from DISINFECTED and joined BURGERKILL permanently. It was quite hard years since DISINFECTED often changing their players and only left Amenk and Sigit as the original permanent players. It was Ari (BLEEDING CORPSE), Abo, Said, Rudi, Diaz, Abaz (JASAD) and Apot that had been supporting DISINFECTED line-up until 2010. By the end of 2011, Adyth Nugraha went back to the band recorded some new stuffs for the new album. At tat time, DISINFECTED had their permanent line-up: Adyth, Amenk, Sigit, Diaz and Iho. in 2012, DISINFECTED recorded a split album with MOTORDEATH. A mixed music atmosphere from previous albums, “Melted” and “Aku Akan Bunuh Kamu” sounds blended with lyrics that criticize Indonesian social conditions. Iho resigned in 2013 and replaced by Adang, the additional drummer for the band. In 2014 DISINFECTED formally published their latest line-up: Amenk, Adyth Nugraha, Sigit, Diaz, and Adang. The band also take Achidaivasti as the manager, which is also SIKSAKUBUR’s manager. This line-up will soon release the new full album in 2014.

Jack works in the San Francisco Bay area as a musician, playing keyboards and guitar. Search Add 13 Grimm Jack The Grimm Jack story began in 1985 with guitarist Jimmie Mack and drummer Dave Leeds, two Long Island rockers who joined forces to create a contemporary rock band with an edge. Original members included vocalist Robin DesForges, guitarist Rich Daly, and bassist Sean O’Neill. The group released their first single “Janet”, on the independent label CYN CITY RECORDS in 1986. The following year brought the release of a five-song EP entitled GO FOR YOUR GUNS, which gained airplay on radio outside the New York metro area. By 1988, Grimm Jack shifted into full throttle; original vocalist Robin DesForges departed and was replaced by singer Billy Kohout. Bassist Scott Bittner was on board, and the group started gaining national recognition with the release of their next EP, PARTNERS IN CRIME. This recording featured the songs “One Track Mind” and “Shy Boy”, both which gained a steady amount of airplay on various rock radio stations, especially in the south and mid-Atlantic regions. Legendary music publications such as CIRCUS and HIT PARADER gave Grimm Jack’s PARTNERS IN CRIME very positive reviews during 1988, and the group was also featured prominently in numerous regional and local magazines nationwide. In early 1989, Daly and Bittner chose to part company with Grimm Jack and guitarist Tom Lestat and bassist Paul Vassa were brought into the band. With this lineup in place, Grimm Jack forged ahead to create a respectable reputation based on energetic live performances and high caliber songs that fans still remember today.

Search Add 13 Larry Cross Russell Titus Born Russell Titus in New Brunswick, Canada, he went from school into stage work and regular broadcasting. His first band job came while he was still a student and this led to several appearances as singing compere at Lowe`s Theatre, Montreal. Next came a year in New York singing with the Richard Himber and Roger Wolf Kahn orchestras. Returning to Canada, Larry starred in many radio shows, one of which ran three years without a break, and became compere of the long-running 'Merchant Navy Show'. Not just a performer, Larry was an Honours Student at the Toronto Academy of Radio Art. Following wartime service with the Canadian Army he returned to his radio work and made personal appearances coast to coast in the United States. He played Barbara Kelly`s husband in a series called 'John and Judy' written by Bernard Braden. By the early fifties Larry had decided to come to Britain and in June 1951 Geraldo used him as vocalist on his recording of 'Across the wide Missouri'. The same month Parlophone signed him as a solo artist and released his 'Castles in the sand', a song from the prolific pens of Bob Hilliard and Dave Mann. Over the following eighteen months Parlophone made good use of the Cross voice, issuing a new record almost every month. In November 1954 he was the first artist to appear on the new Embassy label sold exclusivly by Woolworth stores. With twelve issues over the next three years Larry covered many hit songs of the day, without ever making the charts himself as the Embassy discs were not allowed to feature in the sales charts. Larry had several radio airings and his natural mid- Atlantic broadcasting voice ensured him compere work on shows like 'Star Band Cavalcade' and Commonwealth of Song'. In 1955 he took over as host of a Radio Luxembourg series, 'People are Funny', sponsored by Pye Ltd. This was a programme that had originated in America in 1942 where the public were encouraged to take part in crazy stunts, with Larry`s first show being recorded in London`s Russell Square Turkish baths. Also at home on the legitimate stage, in 1955 he toured in 'Anniversary Waltz' with Barbara Kelly and Bernard Braden, and it was straight acting on stage and in film that began to take up more of his time from here on.
