Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Huffing Freon From AC Units Experimental electronic "One Man Band" side-project from the creator of the french Canadian band "Adamo Presto Prestigimo". Still located in Montreal-North, Québec, Canada after a cancelled re-location to Las Vegas, Nevada. "Huffing Freon From AC Units" gained little to no press coverage when it was discovered that René Angelil's original will (containing 6 pages about "Huffing Freon From AC Units" upcoming recording deals, distribution rights and exclusives live opening performances contracts for Céline Dion's north American promotional tour) was mysteriously changed hours before his death. Among the many changes set forth, all mentions of "Huffing Freon From AC Units" were completely removed. Only one surviving copy of the original will is known to exist and is notoriously hand-signed by both René Angelil and Céline Dion. In December of 2016, the document was acquired by an anonymous collector in Lebanon. Still active despite the enormous amount of pressure, "Huffing Freon From AC Units" now releases albums, singles and music videos without any input from "major" studios.

Search Add 2 Potentially Insane Potentially Insane were a teen-trio from Clearwater, FL, active 1997~1998 when the members were 16~17. The members consisted of: Dan Byers - Bass + Vocals - currently the Good Wolf in feral sensation Wolf-Face. Dan Cano - Drums + Vocals - currently operating under the monicker Disco on Drums in bands such as Redlight Stare and Deeper Blue. Michael Goodman - Guitar - currently doing Deeper Blue. The band played 1 club gig, released a cassette, a TV show, and a party opening for Discount in which the band actually broke up the day before and guitarist's equipment malfunctioned at the start of the set, requiring the emergency borrowing of an out-of-tune guitar in which the band watched in well-deserved horror as the venue cleared out in the first song, humiliating themselves in front of their friends and heroes. 23 years the recording of their club appearance was resurrected.

Search Add 2 Fuck Your Birthday [a6546567] is an American garage rock / math rock band born in Morgantown, WV, and currently based out of New York City and Wenzhou, China. Formed in 2012, vocalist/guitarist [a7535441] (an ESL teacher in Wenzhou) and drummer [a6546568] (a NYC-based photographer) have maintained a prolific stream of DIY releases and touring activity, despite their frequent time apart (12 time zones apart to be precise). After a brief stint as a trio with bassist/vocalist Michelle Fincham, who is featured on the January 2014 EP The Cymbal Barks Louder Than You, [a6546567] forged ahead as a duo, embarking on their Jet-lag Revival Tour followed by the Li EP in October 2014 (recorded, mixed, and mastered by [a4620178] of Akron, Ohio’s [a6554685]). June 2015 saw the release of the Future Teller EP, at which point the band began working on material for a full-length record. Crafted over frequent Megabus treks between New York and Morgantown, [a6546567]’s debut LP, Touchless Automatic, was released in April 2016. Touring was not possible at this time as Christopher had recently graduated and accepted a job as an ESL teacher in Wenzhou, China. The following year, in April of 2017, Roman travelled to Wenzhou for [a6546567]’s first international tour. Spring Roll 2017 spanned two weeks and 8 cities in southern China (Wenzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Changsha, Nanchang, Xuzhou, Shanghai – watch “Live in Shanghai” via the FYB YouTube channel). In October 2017, Roman returned to Wenzhou to play more shows and work on new material. A selection of these sessions will be released as [r=12156753] on [l545739], available June 8, 2018, in a limited edition 6-panel Digipak CD format and at digital retailers worldwide.

Search Add 2 Mesrob Takakjian Armenian-American clarinetist and orchestra leader (born July 15, 1894 in Palu, Kharpert, Armenia – died November 9, 1976 in Fresno, California, USA) Takakjian emigrated to the United States in 1912 and first settled in Pennsylvania. In June 1917, when he filled in his Draft Card, he was a laborer in Providence, RI, working for the Gorham Manufacturing Co. At the same time, he already played the clarinet professionally. Sharing a reed with a fellow musician, however, he contracted tuberculosis. This forced him to relocate to the better air of California, where he found a second home among the many Armenian immigrants of Fresno. In 1927, Fresno's City Directory lists him at 942 Broadway under "Phonograph and Records - dealers". By 1928, he had turned to selling candy instead. In 1942, his employer was Palm Olive Cleaners. On the side, Takakjian stayed active in Fresno's music scene. In 1929, he recorded two songs for Columbia ion Los Angeles, accompanying his friend, the singer [a=Oscar Kevorkian]. Later, Kevorkian founded his own label, Kevorkian Record Company, which released around 30 titles that frequently featured the [a=M. Takakjian Orchestra].
